About Princess X95

The flagship of the X range from the British yard Princess Yachts offers an innovative layout. With a top deck extending all the way aft, a massive bow lounge and an enclosed wheel house on the top deck, she offers an incredible interior volume. He bow lounge is split on two levels, between an on-deck spa surrounded by loungers on the top deck as well as a private lounge for the owner on the main deck. 

The yacht is one of the latest design to grace the seas, coming from the renowned Princess yard in England. The exterior offers a radical take on yacht design, with a continuous upper deck, from the bow lounge to the upper aft deck. Creating a large continuous space, with a raised enclosed pilothouse and featuring a spa, the upper deck is worthy of much large yachts. 

The master suite is located on the main deck, wind floor to ceiling windows, a rare feat for a yacht in her class. With an ensuite bath, a small lounge and a walk-in closet, there’s nothing missing in the master suite. The remaining guest accommodations can be found on the lower deck, with two VIPs and two Guest suites.

The tender is stored on the oversized swim platform, ideal to free some space in the transom, allowing the yacht to offer an incredible interior volume.

When it comes to the polarizing, head-spinning design of Princess Yachts ‘ brand-new 95-foot, tri-deck X95, there are no half-measures, no in-betweens. You either love it. Or loathe it.

That blunt, towering, two-story bow, the mile-high, top-floor skylounge, the Jacuzzi teetering high on the foredeck. Bold and dramatic, without a doubt. Sleek and elegant, arguably not so much.

But the X95’s design brilliance is in its impressive internal volume with huge living, lounging and entertaining spaces on three levels. Claimed to have 40 percent more interior space than a typical 95-footer, there’s room for a small army of friends and family to stretch out in this glass-encased, floating penthouse.

To find out whether space over style works, Robb Report marine editor Michael Verdon and I stepped aboard this ground-breaking new Princess for an exclusive tour during last month’s Palm Beach International Boat Show.

“It re-writes the rules of yacht design,” says our tour guide, Stefano Luppi, senior designer with Pininfarina. The famed Italian studio teamed up with the Princess Yachts designers and longtime naval architect Olesinski Design, to deliver what Luppi calls “a complete rethink” of yacht architecture.

“The design challenge was combining all this interior volume with an exterior that was striking and unique, yet clearly a Princess,” says Luppi. “We did this by incorporating beautifully sculpted surfaces and long flowing lines, like the one from the top of the sky lounge down to the deck.”

Even just stepping aboard shows the design revolution the X95 has created. The retractable swim platform is the biggest, most complex ever by the Italian equipment maker Opacmare. Nicknamed the “transformer,” it can lower into the water to launch a one-ton tender. Or raise up, exposing a series of steps, to make getting on and off a high dock a breeze.

But it’s when you take the steps up to the main deck that the X95 really starts to make sense. It’s a true open-plan concept, with wide sliding doors opening the deck area into the huge salon. Floor-to-ceiling windows as you’ve never seen on a 95-footer flood the space with light.

This particular X95—hull number three and destined for a buyer in Puerto Rico—features a separate, enclosed and beautifully finished galley, though Princess expects most U.S. customers to opt for a more family-friendly, full-beam, open-plan kitchen.

Typically at the forward end of this level, you’d have the helm station, but not on the X95. Instead, there’s a spacious master suite featuring huge windows on three sides.

But what really sets the interior design of the X95 apart is its new upper sky-lounge and deck. Luppi says it’s his favorite feature, and it is hugely impressive. Covering almost the entire length of the yacht, it provides expansive outdoor entertaining space, a cozy air-conditioned salon, and an open helm that can be partitioned off.

The outdoor rear deck has space for a multitude of sofas and sun loungers, a table for 10, and a bar area. And it’s all protected by the yacht’s high-mounted handrail with lower panels of tinted glass.

Stroll around the wide upper deck to the bow area, and there’s that Jacuzzi with plenty of lounging pads around it, offering the best view in the house when under way. Belowdecks, there’s a full-beam double cabin—to some owners, this is the preferred master suite—plus two or three twin-berth cabins with the option to turn any of them into a gym, library or office.

“The beauty of X95 is that its interior is defined by large, adaptable spaces that can be used and formatted in many ways. It makes for a uniquely flexible boating lifestyle,” says Luppi.

And impressive, even for a yacht with a $12 million price tag, is the astonishing level of fit and finish. The craftsmanship that goes into the woodwork, furniture and cabinetry is world-class.

Olesinski’s design for the X95’s new composite hull features a wave-piercing bow that extends the yacht’s waterline and improves fuel efficiency.  Fin stabilizers and a 22-foot beam should hopefully balance out the yacht’s towering height to dampen any rock and roll.

Its twin 1,900-horsepower V12 MAN diesels give the X95 a top speed of 28 mph. Throttle back to a more relaxed 12 mph and the 3,540-gallon fuel tanks deliver a range of over 2,000 miles.

As for that polarizing exterior, the saying goes that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Marine Editor Verdon is a fan, saying that the X95’s bold style takes Princess design in an impressive new direction. Daring to be different is good, he reckons, even if it’s not a crowd-pleaser.

Controversial design or not, with Princess Yachts reportedly having already sold a dozen X95s, this spacious mini- superyacht shows that daring to be different is worth the risk.

The main deck aft comes with the option of a casual alfresco lounge along the stern consisting of a sofa, two armchairs and a coffee table, or an elevated table for larger meals. Forward to port there is room for a bar. Two stairways connect to the deep swim platform below where guests can sunbathe or get ready the water toys, and the main deck aft also has a starboard stairway connecting to the flybridge above.

The flybridge allows owners to choose between sun loungers or additional seating along the stern, with a crane for the launch and retrieval of any motorised water toys. The rest of the aft section is furnished with sofas, armchairs and drinks tables for unwinding with the sweeping views. Forward of the outdoor lounge is the large circular alfresco dining table to seat 10, and side walkways lead around to the foredeck which is fitted with a C-shaped sofa and drinks table, and the choice of a broad sunbed or a Jacuzzi.

The lower deck places the guest accommodation forward and amidships, followed by the engine room and the crew accommodation, with the stern providing the option of a tender garage or beach club.

The main deck has three possible layouts for Owners to choose from:

Option One: The forward section contains a galley with breakfast bar/wet bar and bow dining area consisting of a sofa and movable chairs around a large table. The open plan lounge behind has stairs down to the guest accommodation forward and centre with a stairway up to the flybridge to port. The layout places four chairs around a drinks table to starboard with a sofa and widescreen TV behind, and to port two sofas create a cosy setting around a coffee table to relax with drinks.

Option Two: The Master suite is forward with the galley behind to port. A wet bar is amidships to port with two armchairs an a side table opposite. A sofa and widescreen TV is placed on the starboard side, and to port and L-shaped sofa, two armchairs and a coffee table.

PRINCESS X95 Specifications

Option Three: The final option provides a forward lounge consisting of an L-shaped sofa and side table to port and an armchair with footrest beside the starboard window. The main lounge behind is similar to layout Option Two, only there is a circular formal dining table opposite the wet bar instead of the casual seating area.

Above, the flybridge places a U-shaped sofa around a drinks table in the port side corner, with the helm station adjacent. The cosy skylounge behind is furnished with an L-shaped sofa and coffee table along the starboard wall, and the option of a widescreen TV and/or dayhead opposite. The PRINCESS X95 model draws on fuel tanks of 13,400 litres for a long cruising range. Her pair of MAN V12-1900 of 1,900 HP each produce a top speed of 24-26 knots.

Yacht Accommodation

The accommodation sleeps a maximum of 8-10 guests in 4-5 en-suite cabins: 1-2 Master suites, 1 VIP stateroom and 2 twin cabins. The optional fifth cabin is a main deck Master suite which has a king-sized bed, a widescreen TV, a desk and wardrobe to starboard and two armchairs and a side table beneath the port windows. The en-suite bathroom is accessed aft to port and has two sinks, a toilet and a shower. The Master suite is located amidships on the lower deck to provide occupants with a full beam interior. The king-sized bed is placed against the aft wall with a widescreen TV opposite, and a desk and walk-in-wardrobe to starboard. The port side of the room has three layout options: A sofa and side table, two armchairs and a side table, or a desk and armchair. The entrance to the en-suite bathroom is aft to port, and within there are two sinks, a toilet and a shower. The VIP stateroom is placed in the bow section and comes with a double bed and widescreen TV, a large wardrobe and an en-suite bathroom with a sink, toilet and shower. The twin cabins are to port and starboard respectively between the Master and VIP cabins, and both have two single beds, TV entertainment, a large wardrobe and a forward en-suite bathroom providing a sink, toilet and shower. The crew accommodation is designed to sleep 4.

Description

Princess X95 has been operating since 2018. The body is made of fiberglass using vacuum molding. Developed appearance in collaboration with Pininfarina. A distinctive feature of this yacht model is the flybridge length. It occupies almost the entire length of the boat.

The upper deck provides the owner with a relaxation area, in front of which, if desired, a pool can be installed. There is an additional control post on the flybridge. It is equipped with navigation systems and adjustable seats. There is also a dining area and a bar. When buying, you can choose one of two available layout options for the main deck. In the first version, a master cabin can be installed, in the second in its place there will be a spacious dining room with kitchen. Four cabins for guests are located on the lower deck; here, in the aft part, there are two cabins for crew members and a garage for a tender or jet ski.

High speed yachts are provided by twin engines 2 x MAN V12 with a capacity of 1900 hp. The volume of the built-in tanks is 11 tons. This allows the yacht to travel about 1,500 nautical miles in economy mode. Owners note good energy supply of the vessel. In this model of the yacht, two diesel generators with a capacity of 40 kilowatts each are installed.

Unveiled to the public in 2020, the Princess X95 is a 95-foot superyacht that boasts an innovative triple-tier deck arrangement to offer the sort of expansive, free-flowing space one would normally only find aboard a megayacht. Such a bold approach to maximizing deck space required the input of celebrated naval architect Bernard Olesinski and the Italian design house Pininfarina, who spent countless hours at the Princess shipyard in Plymouth, England refining the design. The end result is a yacht whose flybridge extends almost the entire way from bow to aft, with 40% more living space when compared to vessels of a similar length.

Yacht lovers lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the X95 as it glides into harbor will first notice the yacht’s vertiginous profile, sleek, aerodynamic lines and wave-piercing bow that extends all the way from the water up to the flybridge. A deep GRP V-hull with a 22-foot beam, designed to provide 15% better fuel efficiency and enhanced stability at sea, is paired with a hairpin-shaped fibreglass superstructure that allows for wrap-around windows and the remarkable, double-length super-flybridge.

The Princess team made a number of clever changes to ensure that this yacht gets the most out of its extra space, situating the helm station, equipped with all the latest navigational equipment, on the flybridge to provide a main deck space that has an unimpeded internal sightline of 80 feet from bow to aft. The flybridge is large enough for a full-sized conference table, L-shaped sofa to starboard, a rear sunlounge and your choice of either modular living space or spa-pool jacuzzi to bow.

One level below and a truly exceptional open plan salon and galley on the main deck is equipped with a 65 inch, 4k UHD TV with a surround-sound Naim audio system for a fully immersive silver-screen viewing experience. Guests can relax on the full-size sofa to starboard or enjoy a morning espresso on the four armchairs next to a teak coffee table. Galley space boasts an American-style island kitchen with full wet bar, 5 induction hobs, convection oven and microwave, where you can rustle up your choice of deluxe meals. When cruising in sunnier climes guests are sure to make a beeline to the large, beach-club aft deck, where a bespoke full-beam swimming platform, crafted exclusively for Princess by marine engineers Opacmare, provides the ideal launching pad from which to enjoy warm-water swimming and coral reef snorkelling.

The main deck is also large enough to introduce a forward stateroom with panoramic windows to the bow, or alternatively this area can be used as an office or forward morning lounge. Below deck layouts are fully customisable, with popular arrangements including two staterooms, two guest berths and crew quarters for a maximum occupancy of 12.

All living spaces on the yacht are decked out with handsome teak flooring, finely crafted accents featuring high quality Rovere Oak or Walnut wood, stainless steel fixtures and brightwork and only the finest furnishings sourced from Princess’s exclusive partner Louis Vuitton. Spacious bathroom facilities, meanwhile, feature marble, granite or quartz finishes for an elegant, day-spa feel.

The Princess X95 is as high performance as it is luxurious: captains will find this yacht a joy to ride as they use the electro-hydraulic steering system to command this vessel’s 5-bladed propellers in high-end nickel-aluminium bronze. Twin MAN V12 1900 engines offer top speeds of 24 knots, while at cruising speeds of 10 knots the X95 has a horizon-busting range of 2000 miles. A truly era-defining yacht that sets new standards of comfort and space not only for Princess but for the superyacht market as a whole, it is no surprise that when first released to the public the firm immediately sold 10 models to discerning clients from across the globe.

Princess Yachts reveals X90 yacht model with new cockpit design

British yard Princess Yachts has announced the latest addition to its X Class series, known as the X90. The 27.4-metre model will sit between the 24.3-metre X80 and the series flagship, the X95 Vista. Launch is anticipated for 2026.

The new model stands out from other yachts in the range with her low, open-plan cockpit, designed with a glass transom and folding bulwark balconies that extend the space and provide 180 degree views "whether standing or seated". The rest of the space is arranged with sofa seating, a wet bar and an optional television.

Accommodation is across three double cabins, including an owner's suite forward of the main deck and benefitting from 180-degree glazing. An optional gullwing door can provide private access to the foredeck terrace, which houses deck gear when not in use. The main deck also features the galley which can be customised to be open to the main saloon with a sociable breakfast bar or fully enclosed.  In a first for the shipyard, the X90 features curved patio doors that connect the cockpit to the main saloon and, when opened, turn the formal, 10-person dining table al fresco.

Meanwhile, the flybridge features the range's signature skylounge with sofa seating to port and starboard and the option to fit an 85-inch television screen. Sliding doors lead to the enclosed wheelhouse, while an al fresco dining table can be found aft. There aft deck is one of the model's most customisable spaces, including the option to instal a spa bath, a bar, a tender crane or a clear space for modular furniture.

The final outdoor hub is the flybridge foredeck, which features forward and aft facing seating areas and a coffee table which can be converted to sunloungers by flipping the backrest.

The X90 will be able to reach a maximum speed of 28 knots.

According to BOATPro , Princess Yachts has 18 yachts on order or currently under construction. The shipyard is currently debuting the first S80 – the flagship of its S Class range – at this year's Cannes Yachting Festival .
