The Via Mia is a fully restored antique yacht located in Honolulu, Hawaii. The worldly 61-foot wooden yacht was constructed in 1929 in Stockton, California. Built for luxury, she traveled the world before crossing the ocean to Hawai‘i where she currently resides in beautiful Waikiki.

If her teak could speak, Vida Mia would not only tell stories about movie stars and politicians who enjoyed her lap of luxury basking in the sunsets off Waikiki, but of the countless grand times of families and friends who created lifetime memories aboard this gorgeous, iconic vessel.

The Vida Mia has been on the silver screen starring in movies dating all the way back to the 50's.

The Vida Mia served her country during World War II. She arrived in Hawai‘i after serving as an unofficial escort of the famed Transpacific sailing race in 1963, although it’s said perhaps the Transpacific racing fleet was really escorting her.

We are conveniently located near all the major hotels in Honolulu. We share the harbor with the nearby Prince Waikiki , Ilikai Hotel , and the Hilton Hawaiian Village . If you are staying at the Royal Hawaiian , Outrigger Waikiki, or Sheraton Waikiki we are a short 10-15 minute walk along the beach. Many of our hotel guests take a morning stroll over to the harbor or rent a Biki bike at one of their kiosks. There is a nice bike path along the beach; you can catch it right at the end of Lewers Street or take the scenic route and cut through the path at the Hale Koa Hotel .

For guests staying on other parts of the island, we offer transportation recommendations.

There is ample parking near the vessel. Parking in the Ala Wai Small Boat Harbor is convenient and affordable.

We recommend shared rides or taxi service for cruises that depart on Friday evenings.

Superyacht reportedly owned by Russian oligarch arrives in Honolulu after being seized

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A massive luxury yacht reportedly belonging to a Russian oligarch docked in Honolulu on Thursday. It’s one of the several yachts seized by the U.S. Department of Justice because of their owners’ ties to Russia.

Tug boats met the yacht at sea about 10 a.m. and guided it into Honolulu Harbor.

The 348-foot luxury yacht, the Amadea, made a U-turn inside Honolulu Harbor and then docked at Pier 2. Federal agents with the FBI and U.S. Marshals Service were on board the vessel, which reportedly belongs to oligarch Soleiman Kerimov.

The yacht was seized in Fiji last month.

At a news conference last month, U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland pledged to go after oligarchs’ assets amid the ongoing Russian attack on Ukraine. “It doesn’t matter how far you sail your yacht or how well you conceal your assets, the Justice Department will use every tool and find you and hold you accountable,” he said.

Fijian law enforcement and the FBI took control of the yacht last month. It’s valued at more than $300 million.

Kerimov himself is worth an estimated $14 billion.

He was sanctioned by the U.S. for alleged money laundering in 2018.

About a half dozen super vessels have been seized so far as part of an international campaign to pressure those aligned with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“The Justice Department will be relentless to hold accountable those who facilitate the death and destruction we are witnessing in Ukraine,” Garland said.

Special features on the sprawling yacht include a helipad, multiple pools and bars.

The Amadea left Fiji on June 7. Its journey was delayed because of disagreements between the US and the crew and contractors. The vessel is set to head out to California on Friday.

Want your own private sunset tour? This is it! The tour was very professional as well as fun. Michelle made booking the tour very easy. Michelle and Will were very good on the open Ocean and very accommodating. Allowed music if you wanted and can bring whatever drinks you want. Will had just crossed the Pacific Ocean in a boat! Wow!

What to do with a dozen friends all in town at once? Our sunset sail was wonderful! Everyone had a lovely time, enjoying the beautiful skyline and horizon. The highlight of the trip was our close sighting of humpback whales! They were less than 30 yards away at times – it’s hard to say whether the kids or the adults were more excited! The crew was very helpful and the boat Tefiti (for sailing nerds) is beautiful, clean, in perfect condition, and amazingly set up for singlehanding – almost everything is automated to the point she almost sails herself. Not a spot of rust anywhere – she clearly gets a lot of TLC!

Our family of 10 rented the boat originally for two hours to take my husband’s ashes out to Diamond Head and scatter them in the ocean he loved so much and sailed so often. It was a Memory that the entire family will cherish forever. Michele and our captain couldn’t have been more accommodating. After we put his ashes into the water, we asked if it would be possible to stay out an extra hour so that we could all swim in the waters off Waikiki…and the two of them were totally good with that! Such a fun time after such an emotional day for us all. Michele was so good with the two youngsters we had with us…even providing brand-new life jackets for them…ages 6 + 7! It was sunset as we came into the channel…docking was a picture perfect ending to the afternoon. Thank you so much! We loved it and highly recommend this team for a perfect sail aboard the Beneteau 50 Te Fiti!

Had a great day with Honolulu Sailing Company. It was really nice to have a private yacht and avoid the crowds packed on other boats. Our family really appreciated that the captain and crew were fully vaccinated and it made the tour very relaxing. It’s hard these days to find something to do that feels safe. We booked a snorkel cruise and will book a sunset sail before we head home to Arizona.

Great time snorkeling with this crew! We saw a lot of fish and many sea turtles. My daughter loved jumping off the side of the boat over and over! Drinks were great too!

What a wonderful experience! The crew was friendly and fun. The drinks were tasty and plentiful. The sunset was gorgeous and the moonrise was a terrific bonus. I highly recommend!

My husband and I had a wonderful time on the 2:30 Sunset Cruise. The guys sailing us out were super nice. It was beautiful on the water, and we even saw a turtle in the water! The Mai Tai drinks they had on board, were actually the best we had the entire trip. I would defiantly recommend this experience! P.S. you could get soaked...we did :-)

This was a great experience. This sail is very calm and relaxing and a completely different experience from the trade wind sails, where you expect to get tossed around and get wet. The crew was very friendly and attentive. The sunset was gorgeous, even though it was overcast all day. My wife and I now prefer this sail over the trade winds sails we have done in the past. Great sail!

So much fun! One of the more affordable sunset cruises and 100% worth it. The workers on the boat were friendly and upbeat and did a great job of cultivating a fun vibe. Would do it again in a heartbeat.

My friend was visiting me on the island and we both loved this experience! The crew is so refreshing and fun! It was a mix of young and old! It was a great time! Would definitely recommend!

PROJECT HONOLULU is a 74.0 m Motor Yacht, currently being built in Germany by Lurssen and to be delivered in 2024.

Lurssen's 87m/ 285ft motor yacht 'Project Hawaii' hit the water for the first time at the shipyard's facilities in Rendsburg today.

Lurssen's latest project emerged from the construction shed this morning, hitting the waters of the Kiel Canal for the very first time. 

Construction on the 2,950 GT superyacht began in 2017, and we can expect her to begin sea trials in the coming months.

Still known only as Project Hawaii , the motor yacht features exterior and interior styling from Bannenberg & Rowell. Key features include a jacuzzi on the main deck aft that looks over a spacious swim platform below.

The yacht marks the sixth exterior collaboration between Bannenberg & Rowell and the German shipyard.  She sports clean lines, with generous overhang from the superstructure and glass bulwarks around the sundeck. The yacht also has an unusual detail on the foredeck which resembles a helipad and could nod to her namesake. 

It is not yet known whether the superyacht will be available for private yacht charters .

With beams of 30 feet, the yachts offer a generous amount of space on board. Both feature a sizable sundeck of more than 750 square feet, a plush bow lounge, two large aft decks, and a swim platform. Each vessel is also outfitted with a Jacuzzi and an aft garage.

Phobos is geared toward exploration, with two additional open-air garages providing ample room for smaller vessels. The one in the stern can hold Jet Skis and a rescue tender, while the one in the forward cockpit can store a 20-foot tender and other water toys. Conversely, Deimos is designed for relaxation, with a giant swimming pool and a sunbathing area occupying pride of place on the aft of the main deck.

Phobos and Deimos have identical interior layouts, with six spacious cabins offering space for up to 12. Two guest cabins and two VIPs are located on the lower deck, while one additional guest suite is positioned on the upper deck. The full-beam owner’s suite, which sits forward on the main deck, spans nearly 400 square feet and opens to a giant terrace with sweeping sea views. The crew quarters are positioned on the lower deck and have separate access so as not to disrupt the guests. The captain’s cabin, meanwhile, lies on the upper deck next to the wheelhouse.
