The International Yachting Media is the reference point for boating in the world

The International Yachting Media  is the worlds most widely read  boating magazine . Whit its portal It  broadcast its original contents in four languages and in more than 200 countries in the world developing 950,000 views a week.  The web portal is the main source of information for  yacht  and boat  owners , the place where they can find anything about their  boating passion . If you’re looking for advices on how to keep your sailboat, a tutorial on how to do the " fishermans knot ", to sale your boat or even the closest port to your needs, you came to the right place. The International Yachting Media is, indeed, a real huge web portal that is not limited to the publication of the  magazine  and its news but that, totally for free for charge, offers special sections that range from the  sale of marine equipment  to  boat technical files , from the  ports and anchorages pilot book  - the most complete and most up-to-date one of the Mediterranean - to the possibility of buying and selling a sailboat or a powerboat. Before exploring the various sections of the website, it is important to highlight that  The International Yachting Media is the only portal in the world to be structured as Wikipedia : all users can, in fact, interact with the pages of the portal and modify their contents, contributing to their constant updating and cooperate actively with our team. The secret of our success lies in a simple, functional, engaging communication that, with its many sections, meets all the  boat owners  needs. One of the most visited areas is our  online boating magazine  where, every day, we publish articles that reflect all boat owners interests. Not only press releases about the launch of  new boats  but also  sea trials of super yachts, sailbots or maxiribs  and the corresponding reviews  (not always positive),  how-to articles and useful tutorials for  navigation , insights to  boat shows ,  travel stories and diaries . The  online port pilot book  of The International Yachting Media is the largest and most popular pilot book in Europe and  the only one to have ports and anchorages on the same map . Designed to offer a simple access even from mobile devices, it offers the possibility of having files of ports and anchorages always at your fingertips, with essential information, descriptions, satellite views, photos and videos. Like other sections of the portal, the pilot book is structured in order to be readily available to users.  Everyone can add or update the file of a port or an anchorage  and, after a quick moderation, new informations will be put online. Moreover,  readers contribution will be awarded with the publication of their username in the files they have updated. Among the most visited sections of the portal,  Boats for sale  is particularly relevant. Updated in January 2019, it was made even more user-friendly, safe and captivating. Today, "boats for sale" is the only platform of the market to be 100% free of charge, for both boat owners and brokers. The presence of more than 25,000 ads uploaded clearly shows the great success of the section All you have to do is look for the model of the sail boat or motor boat you want to be able to find it among thousands of occasions. If, instead of a boat, you are looking for second hand marine accessories,  Nautical Classifieds   is the right option for you. Users can add their own ads for free or search the right product/service, from clothing to deck equipment, from boat trailers to berths. Virtual Boat Show  provides users with the complete files of the new models offered by the worlds most prestigious boat manufacturers that, always free, can add their range and make it available to readers.  Boats data sheet , instead, offers the technical files of  more than 15,000 discontinued boats . Like other sections of the portal, all files can be easily updated by users. The innovative services of The International Yachting Media also include  Boat Holidays . This section offers both the opportunity to  host passengers on board your own boat  and the search of another users (or charter) boat anywhere in the world.  This section is the only one of the market to be totally free of charge for both parties . Indeed, transactions are directly managed by the interested parties. Our task is just to put them in touch. The reader can easily distinguish between the offers of charter company and those of private boat owners through the simple, user-friendly graphic design that identifies the category. A new way to enjoy summer holidays and, above all, a new efficient way to give visibility to all those who organize amazing boating holidays on dreamy yachts. Anyone involved in the nautical sector must be aware that, although it is a constantly evolving reality, it is also firmly anchored in traditions and nautical terms that don’t want to be overcome. In order to meet neophytes meets and allow professionals to improve their knowledge, The International Yachting Media makes available its own  nautical dictionary and translator . The latter, too, is totally editable. So that when you’re on a sailboat and you are told to "fuck the mainsail", you will know exactly what they are asking you to do. Last but not least,  Nautical Arts and Crafts  is a section where users are transported within arts and crafts that, between anecdotes and descriptions, pay tribute to all the nautical professions that have become real forms of art over years. Fair wind from the staff of The International Yachting Media

Bareboat Charter in the Bahamas

Superyacht charter in the bahamas, travel tips:.

  • The Bahamas is relatively hassle-free, with minimal red tape. All travelers, including U.S. citizens, require a passport. Nassau’s Lynden Pindling International Airport implements TSA PreCheck, and Paradise Island facilitates pre-clearance for U.S. Customs and Immigration Services.
  • Private flight options are available through several fixed-base operators (FBO), like Jet Nassau and Odyssey Aviation. For a fee, the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism offers expedited services at the airport when flying commercial or transferring to the FBO from Nassau. You can also fly into George Town, Staniel Cay, Norman’s Cay, or Eleuthera.
  • A daily ferry runs from Fort Lauderdale to Grand Bahama Island, approximately three hours, but make sure it makes sense for your charter base location.
  • The Moorings can help organize travel, and brokers can recommend travel arrangements.
  • D’Offay recommends your broker organize transportation to the boat to ensure you get a reliable vehicle and driver. Minimize carrying valuables, check travel advisories, and be aware of your surroundings.

There's a new form of sexual attraction heating up: Here's what...

I lived ‘below deck’ on a luxury yacht — here’s what you need to know.

Tahiti, St. Thomas and the French Riviera — I’ve yachted in all of these exotic locales, albeit from the comfort of my couch. And, millions of Americans are in the same boat.

In 2013, “Below Deck,” introduced the masses to the most glamorous mode of traveling: yachting. Since then, it’s become a Bravo mainstay with Season 9 of “Below Deck Mediterranean’’ premiering in June.

But how real is the reality show? I spent five nights on a yacht in Croatia to find out.

A woman in a bikini standing on the deck of the 'Adriatic Escape' boat, ready to experience reality TV drama on the high seas in Maldives.

A tip on tipping

My suitcase wasn’t bursting with Benjamins. An agency at your final destination provides cash for the crew’s tip money. While you’re expected to tip $30,000 for a two-night cruise on “Below Deck,” in real life you only have to tip 10% to 15% of your charter fee. That’s about $10,000 for a two-night cruise on a 180-foot charter yacht like Mustique (from $250,000 a week), which stars in the new season.

According to Zvonimir Androić, president of the yacht charter company Via Croatia, more often than not, the tip comes from what’s left over after provisioning.

So, shun the Dom Pérignon and skip the beluga caviar, and you’ll have money to spare.

What’s up, dock?

A luxury yacht, named Adriatic Escape, docked at Split Marina with a weekly rental price of US$52,800

In real life, “Below Deck’s” favorite commercial-break cliff-hanger isn’t nearly as dramatic. Docking in our yacht, Via Croatia’s five-cabin, 100-foot Adriatic Escape (from $52,800 a week), was breezy.

I asked the crew if they hated setting up the slide — a tortuous, Herculean task if you believe what you see on TV.

“It’s not that bad,” a twentysomething Croatian deckhand, as cute as his on-screen counterparts, told me. “That said, we’re definitely not sad if you don’t ask for it.”

Play it cool

Barbie Pascual arranging a table on the set of Below Deck Season 11.

Despite being served meat on more than one occasion, my vegetarian co-guests on board weren’t divas when it came to cuisine — a major source of chef-related stress on the show.

Tantrums aren’t the norm Barbie Pascual, the “Below Deck” stewardess famous for putting up with former “RHONY” star Jill Zarin’s demands for the perfect Diet Coke in the “Real Housewives of Grenada” episode, tells me. “Guests know they are being filmed so their reactions are more extreme than they’d be if the cameras weren’t around,” she says.

Pascual’s biggest tip for first-time yachters? Don’t go skinny dipping, like they do on the show, after dark.

“People forget about currents, sharks, etc.,” she says. “Jumping in the water should always be with the captain’s consent!”

Our humorless Croatian yacht captain was a far cry from “Below Deck Mediterranean’s” affable Captain Sandy Yawn. I think we only saw him twice over the course of four days, and he definitely didn’t join us for dinner.

That was fine by us because the stews and deckhands were always handy with anything we needed — including at chat.

Asking for it

A group of people on the Adriatic Escape boat, available for weekly rent at $52,800

“No” is a word you’ll never hear on a yacht, unless there is a safety issue, Pascual says.

While we didn’t ask our crew to do a striptease or decorate for ‘70s night (two recurring requests on the show), out-there demands aren’t out of the question, as long as you’re willing to pay for it.

For example, Via Croatia is currently retrofitting one of its multimillion-dollar superyachts for an upcoming charter booked by a multigenerational Jewish family from Florida.

“In addition to paying the charter fee, the client is literally buying everything new: pots, pans, silverware, et cetera,” said Androić. “They’re even spending $30,000 on a new tender for the elderly mother-in-law.”

Now, I’m no reality show producer, but a picky primary trying to keep his wife, her elderly mom and their kosher kids happy at sea has the makings of an Emmy Award-winning episode.

Yachting on a budget

Agape Rose, an ultra luxury mini cruiser yacht with various amenities, sailing on Croatia's Adriatic coast.

Charters are cheapest at the beginning and end of a destination’s season. Via Croatia’s yuppiest yacht, the 160-foot, 12-cabin Agape Rose , fetches $200,000 a week in July and August. But it’s just $164,000 a week in April and October. Divide that by 24 of your closest friends and family and it’s just $6,800 a person.

If that’s still too much, consider booking a yacht club suite on one of MSC Cruises ’ Mediterranean voyages.

Sure, you’ll be on a cruise liner, but for $1,659 a person you’ll be treated to seven nights of private butler service with a private pool and restaurant that the pleb passengers don’t even know exists.

Sicily Yacht Tragedy: Hannah Lynch's Sister Breaks Silence on "Angel" Teen's Death

Esme lynch, the sister of the late hannah lynch and daughter of late mike lynch, paid tribute to her sister after the two died when a super yacht sank off the coast of italy: “she is my little angel.”.

Esme Lynch is mourning the loss of her loved ones.

The sister of the late Hannah Lynch , 18, who perished after a super yacht sank off the coast of Sicily following a freak storm along with their dad, Mike Lynch , reflected on her sibling's unexpected passing.

"She is my little angel, my star," Esme, whose mom Angela Bacares was among the 15 survivors, shared in a statement obtained by Sky News earlier this week. "She had even more love to give endlessly to all her friends and passion to give to her incredible studies and goals."

Esme also reminisced about the simple moments she had with her sister, who was set to attend Oxford University this fall.

"Hannah often burst into my bedroom and lay down with me," Esme explained. "Sometimes beaming with a smile, sometimes cheeky, sometimes for advice. No matter what, she brought boundless love to me. She was endlessly caring, passionately mad, unintentionally hilarious and the most amazing, supportive and joyful sister and best friend to me."

A spokesperson for the Lynch family also shared a statement Aug. 23, per The Washington Post , writing that they were "devastated, in shock and is being comforted and supported by family and friends."

"Their thoughts are with everyone affected by the tragedy," the statement continued. "They would like to sincerely thank the Italian coastguard, emergency services and all those who helped in the rescue. Their one request now is that their privacy be respected at this time of unspeakable grief."

Hannah was among the six passengers who went missing on Aug. 19 when their luxury boat was hit by a water tornado called a "waterspout." Days after the incident, the Italian Coast Guard confirmed that they had recovered the body of the final passenger—a woman whose body was found a day after Mike’s was also found. Sources close familiar with the matter confirmed to NBC News that rescuers were still searching for Hannah before the body was recovered.

The others who were recovered were Mike's associates, many of whom were part of his defense during his fraud case, including Morgan Stanley International Chairman Jonathan Bloomer and his wife Judy Bloomer ; lawyer Chris Morvillo and his wife Neda Morvillo , the Director of Sicily’s Civil Protection Agency Salvatore Cocina told NBC News. The body of the ship’s cook, Recaldo Thomas , was also recovered shortly after the incident.

Angela was rescued with nine crew members and two other passengers. Eight were taken to a nearby hospital and the rest were brought to a local hotel. In total, 15 passengers of the 22 passengers survived.

The head of the Palermo Emergency Medical Services, Dr. Fabio Genco , recalled what the survivors had told him and investigators after the storm.

"They told me that it was all dark, that the yacht hoisted itself up and then went down," he shared with NBC News . "All the objects were falling on them. That's why I immediately made sure, by asking them questions, if they had any internal injuries."

"They told me that suddenly they found themselves catapulted into the water without even understanding how they had got there," he continued. "The whole thing seems to have lasted from 3 to 5 minutes."

Mike Lynch sunken superyacht could cost insurers massively, experts say

I nsurers of the Bayesian superyacht that sank this month , killing tech entrepreneur Mike Lynch and six others , could be on the hook for at least $150 million, according to the first estimates by industry experts.

The British-flagged 184-foot-long yacht , which the experts estimated cost around $40 million, capsized and went down on Aug. 19 within minutes of being hit by a pre-dawn storm while anchored off northern Sicily.

Prosecutors in the town of Termini Imerese, near Palermo,  are investigating the captain and two other crew members. An investigation does not imply guilt or mean formal charges will follow. Prosecutors have said the probe, which includes looking into crimes of manslaughter and shipwreck, would take time and require salvaging the wreck.

The captain, James Cutfield, flew out of Palermo on a private jet on Thursday, an investigative source told Reuters . Cutfield's destination was unclear.

Cutfield, a native of New Zealand, and his wife live in Palma, the capital of the Spanish island of Mallorca.

The superyacht's hull was insured against physical damage by yacht insurance provider OMAC and a consortium of insurers including Travelers Companies Inc (TRV.N), Navium Marine and Convex, Reuters  reported  last week.

Its protection and indemnity (P&I) insurance, which typically covers third-party liability claims including for environmental damage, injury and death, was provided by British Marine.

The hull was likely insured for around $40 million, while the P&I cover would be larger, insurance sources said.

"Our understanding is that the cost of the boat was between $40 and $50 million, so the limit of the hull and machinery policy was probably around those values," said Marcos Alvarez, managing director, global financial institution ratings at Morningstar DBRS.

The P&I policy would likely be "several multiples" of the hull policy, or $200-300 million, Alvarez added, noting it would also likely cover liability payments even if the captain or crew are found to be negligent.

Oscar Seikaly, CEO of broker NSI Insurance Group, that provides yacht insurance, estimated the hull value at $40-70 million, but said P&I cover might not total more than $100 million.

P&I insurance would also cover recovery of the Bayesian, said Francesco Dubbioso, country manager for Italy for insurer Alta Signa Europe, who estimated the superyacht's value at $30 million to $40 million.

Reuters is the first to report the potential insurance costs. OMAC, Travelers and Navium Marine did not immediately respond to Reuters' for comment. Convex declined to comment.

The Bayesian disaster, which has puzzled experts who said the boat would have been built to withstand a severe storm, adds to recent woes for yacht insurers, who have faced a raft of hurricane losses in the past few years.

Premium rates have risen by four to five times in the past couple of years in parts of the U.S. and the Caribbean, and yacht insurers have cut the amount of cover they provide because of the risks, Seikaly said.

As a result, insurers have increased rates and re-evaluated their guidelines and risk appetite, according to industry experts.

As well as hurricanes, insured losses have mostly stemmed from severe storms, floods, and other weather events in North America, the Caribbean, and Europe, according to a report by broker Marsh.

Seikaly said four clients had last week been ready to buy boats but changed their minds because of the high cost of insurance.

Climate change was also likely to add to yacht insurers' worries, Seikaly added, as it throws up more unexpected events.

"Whoever thought a storm in the Mediterranean in the month of August is going to sink a ship?"

  • Gary's sexual misconduct scandal has permanently tarnished Below Deck Sailing Yacht.
  • Bravo must remove Gary from future seasons for the show to regain its reputation.
  • Season 5 may be in danger of cancellation due to Gary's scandal.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 is highly anticipated, but its fate isn't promising after Gary King 's sexual misconduct scandal was revealed. Captain Glenn Shephard leads the cast of the exciting spin-off aboard the Parsifal III, with Gary, Colin Macrae, and Daisy Kelliher's love triangle as the pinnacle of season 4's drama. However, after Gary's sexual misconduct allegations were revealed and later brushed under the rug by Bravo producers, the popular franchise staple could be in danger. Will Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 return?

During Below Deck Sailing Yacht filming in the summer of 2022, makeup artist Samantha Suarez escorted cast members back and forth for confessional interviews, including Gary. After a talking head in which Gary was visibly intoxicated, Samantha walked him back to his quarters, at which time Gary prevented her from leaving, even grabbing her from behind. While Bravo issued a statement, the allegations were barely addressed, and Gary still allegedly filmed Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5.

Reality TV is more popular than ever. With so many to choose from, here are some of the best reality TV shows to stream or watch right now.

Gary King's Misconduct Scandal Has Put A Permanent Negative Stain On BDSY

Gary needs to go.

Gary's sexual misconduct scandal has put a permanent stain on Below Deck Sailing Yacht . He's openly struggled with professionalism and alcohol on the show for years. Additionally, this isn't the first time alcohol has gotten Gary in trouble with sexual harassment. While Daisy came to his defense, his love triangle with Daisy and Colin was also problematic, with Gary becoming distracted by the Below Deck drama. By casting Gary in Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5, Bravo indicated that sexual misconduct wasn't taken seriously by the network .

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5 Needs To Bring It For Bravo To Order Another Season

The series is in trouble.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 has allegedly already been filmed, with rumors swirling that Gary's scandal has halted its release. Given his prominence in the series, it would be difficult to edit Gary out of the show or even reduce his role. Therefore, it would be better for Bravo to scrap the current season entirely and film a new charter season for Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 .

It's the responsibility of Bravo producers to ensure the safety of the cast and crew during filming, and Samantha wasn't adequately protected from Gary's advances.

The cast and crew would need to bring it to revitalize the spin-off, or it's going to get canceled. Below Deck , Below Deck Mediterranean , and Below Deck Down Under are successful enough to continue without Below Deck Sailing Yacht . The popular cast members could go to another Below Deck series.

What Can Below Deck Sailing Yacht Producers Do To Fix The Show's Reputation?

They need to get rid of gary.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht is a sinking ship , but not all hope is lost. Bravo producers have already shown their understanding of the seriousness of Gary's sexual misconduct by disinviting him to BravoCon in 2023. However, they need to further distance themselves from Gary and fire him from future seasons. If it's impossible to decrease his presence in Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5, the season needs to be scrapped. Only then can Below Deck Sailing Yacht return in good faith and conscience for another installment.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht is available to stream on Peacock.
