Easy access to beach, peek a boo view of beach from kitchen and master bedroom. Nice hot tub. Access to three chairs overlooking the beach that feel like a royal box at the opera—great for watching the ocean and reading. Living area is small, no indoor table, but it was big enough for the four of us.

The Yacht house is fantastic! A great location right on the beach and a quick 20 minute bike ride to town. The kitchen is well appointed and the beds are comfy - we didn’t want to leave. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful clean place 20 ft from the ocean. Jim was very responsive and easy to get a hold of. Perfect for a family wanting to be close to the beach- and the hot tub was a wonderful addition for trying to surf in January.

You can't beat this location. Steps to chesterman beach and a nice walk to tacofino and tofitian coffee! The place is clean and has everything you need. A perfect spot!

This is a great property for proximity to the beach and the waves. We were there to enjoy the surf and you can't get much closer if you tried! The hot tub was great. The board rack made it easy. We would recommend an outdoor hot shower and a place to dry your wetuit gear. Thanks for a great stay!!

I assumed beach front meant we would be right on the beach but we were tucked behind the main house which was a little disappointing for the cost. We enjoyed our stay. And even though we were tucked behind the main house it was just steps to the most beautiful beach! Also nice deck chairs to sit in on overlooking the beach. No table inside but the kitchen is well stocked though with limited storage. The coffee filters looked stained as though they were already used. Probably an over site by the cleaner. We didn’t ask for new ones though I am sure they would have been accommodating

The house is in an amazing location and is well appointed for a family or surf stay. Jim’s communication was fantastic and the stay was comfortable and convenient.

Among the best places in Tofino to rent especially if you plan to be in an out of the water. A really enjoyable location and cottage

With 12 styles of houseboats to choose from, we have a boat to fit every crew’s budget, size, and wishes. Manufactured right in our own backyard, our luxury boats allow you to explore with style and comfort.

Captains of our houseboats need to be 19 years or older and hold valid government issued ID. We recommend that captains hold a Canadian Pleasurecraft Operating Card (PCOC), but it is not required as we provide a complete houseboat orientation prior to your departure.

All Twin Anchors houseboats are equipped with cooking and eating utensils, cleaning equipment, marine toilet tissue, and biodegradable soap – and most have a few bonus comforts like hot tubs and fireplaces!*

*Note the Cruiser does not have a hot tub and fireplace.

Simple is wonderful! The Cruiser is ideal for a family or couple wanting a comfortable little houseboat to explore the lake with. This economical houseboat has a 8 cu.ft. fridge, 3 burner stove, oven, microwave and solar panels to assist in charging the cabin batteries.

The Mirage 42 is new to our fleet. This houseboat sleeps 10 people total, with 6 people on beds and 4 people between the fold out couch and fold down dinette. It is our smallest boat that includes a hot tub and fireplace. Perfect for a family vacation or two small families looking for a smaller houseboat to explore Shuswap Lake.

A classic houseboat! The CruiseCraft 1 is ideal for those wanting all the comforts of home to explore Shuswap Lake  – while keeping vacation costs on budget! Appliances incl. two 8 cu.ft. fridges, range and microwave. The loft area is a favourite spot for kids!

All you need and more! The CruiseCraft 2 has a few more comfort options from the CruiseCraft 1 – including a deluxe wet bar and bimini top on the top deck; and a clothes dryer. Appliances incl. two 8 cu. ft. fridges, range, microwave, dishwasher and clothes dryer.

Packing a large crew? The CruiseCraft 3 is outfitted with luxurious amenities for your Shuswap Lake houseboat adventure. Onboard appliances incl. 25 cu.ft. fridge/freezer, range, microwave, dishwasher, stacked washer/dryer and air conditioning in the salon.

Luxurious comforts! The CruiseCraft 4 is the choice for people wanting luxury on a comfortably size houseboat. Onboard you’ll find stainless steel appliances incl. 25 cu.ft. fridge/freezer, range, microwave, dishwasher, trash compactor, and deluxe entertaining areas.

A whole lotta boat! The CruiseCraft 5 is designed to be the ultimate floating resort. Find 3 levels of entertaining areas – all of them equipped to the max! Everyone loves the extra large galley and extended island. The Texas Deck is the ultimate “go to” space!

Super popular and spacious! At 18 feet wide, The CruiseCraft 6 is the most spacious boat in the fleet – has 3 decks for entertaining and 5.5 bathrooms! Vaulted galley with fridge/freezer, range, microwave, dishwasher, wine cooler; and cozy fireplace/entertainment corner.

The Genesis 60 is “new to us” for the 2020 season. You will find 3 staterooms, 2 lower staterooms and one cuddy, along with two bathrooms (toilet, sink and shower). The galley has a vaulted ceiling with fridge/freezer, range, microwave, and dishwasher; salon has cozy fireplace/entertainment centre.

The Genesis 70 is an easy to operate boat with all the features you could ask for. You will find  the main floor with 4 staterooms with King beds, 4 Lower Cuddies with double beds and 4 Full Bathrooms. A full kitchen with dinette, large fridge/freezer, stove with oven, and microwave.

The Genesis 75 is new to the Twin Anchors fleet this year. It was 3 decks for entertaining with comfortable staterooms and bathrooms for guests. The galley has a vaulted ceiling; with fridge/freezer, range, microwave, dishwasher; and salon has a cozy fireplace/entertainment centre.

The Legacy has 3 massive decks there is more than enough space for your entire group. This newly renovated houseboat has more than enough space for 28 guests (22 + 6 on sofa beds). It has 1 master stateroom with a king bed, 5 staterooms with queen beds, 4 staterooms with double beds, 1 lower stateroom with a double bed and 3 sofa double beds. It includes 4 bathrooms, a large fridge and freezer, a full kitchen with island.

If you prefer specific dates, we recommend you book at least 6 months in advance. Need a commitment from friends? No problem, we will hold a houseboat for up to 10 days without obligation.

To confirm your reservation, a deposit of $500 is required for most boats. Larger houseboats (CC5, CC6, or L94) require an initial deposit of $1500. Your deposit will be applied to the charter fee and can be paid by credit card or e-transfer (contact our office for details on how to make an e-transfer).

Italy luxury yacht victims died of 'dry drowning,' first autopsies show

Initial autopsies of four of the seven victims who died when a superyacht sank in a storm in Italy last month show they died of “dry drowning,” according to authorities.

The phenomenon, also known as “atypical drowning,” means they had no water in their lungs, tracheas or stomachs, said a spokesperson for the lawyer of the captain of the Bayesian, which went down off the coast of the Sicilian port of Porticello on August 19.

There is no medically accepted “dry drowning” condition — “dry drowning” or other terms such as secondary drowning or delayed drowning are sometimes used to describe patients whose condition worsened after a drowning rescue or who had very little water in the lungs. However, the American Red Cross and other health organizations have recommended against using the terms; people may experience health impacts after being in water but it’s not the same as drowning, it says.

The cause of death of the first four victims suggests that they had found an air bubble in the cabin in which five of the victims’ bodies were discovered, and had consumed all the oxygen before the air pocket turned toxic due to carbon dioxide, according to local media reports.

The autopsies of American lawyer Chris Morvillo, his wife Neda Morvillo, Morgan Stanley banker Jonathan Bloomer and his wife Anne Elizabeth Judith Bloomer were carried out on Wednesday at the Forensic Medicine Institute of the Palermo Polyclinic hospital, officials said.

Autopsies on British tech titan Mike Lynch and his 18-year-old daughter are expected to be carried out on Friday.

No date has been set yet for the autopsy of Recaldo Thomas, the ship’s onboard chef – due to the difficulty reaching his family in Antigua.

All seven victims were scanned for injuries last Saturday, which found none had suffered broken bones or other physical injuries that might have contributed to their deaths.

The prosecutor investigating the case first suggested earlier in August the idea that the victims had been searching for an air pocket.

The autopsies are part of the criminal investigation into the ship’s captain James Cutfield, the ship’s machine engineer Tim Parker Eaton and sailor Matthew Griffith, who was on watch the night of the accident. None of the men is in Italy.

They are being investigated for “multiple manslaughter” and for causing a shipwreck, but authorities say this doesn’t mean they will be charged with any crimes. They were allowed to leave the country by the prosecutor in charge of the investigation.

The 56-meter yacht sank within 16 minutes of being struck by a downburst or tornado on the early morning of August 19. The ship will have to be raised for the investigation and to ensure that the 18,000 liters of fuel onboard do not leak into the sea around the port of Porticello near Palermo.

Bids have been sent out for the salvage, which will be paid for by the company of Lynch’s wife Angela Bacares, which owns the yacht.

Toxicology results on the seven victims are expected in the coming days. No alcohol or drug tests were carried out on any of the crew members, the prosecutor said in a press conference after all the victims’ bodies had been recovered.

Lynch and his business partner Stephen Chamberlain, who died after being struck by a car the day the Bayesian sank, had been acquitted of fraud charges in a US court in June 2024. The charges were related to the sale of their company Autonomy to Hewlett Packard, which has said it will not drop its civil lawsuit for US$4 billion in damages now being heard in a UK court.
