Guide to Club Level or Concierge Lounges at Disney World

yacht and beach club concierge level

Is Club Level at Walt Disney World worth the money? This guide answers that, with reviews of the best concierge lounges in hotels, VIP services, pros & cons, and more. We also have an update on Club Level, and what the experience is like now. ( Updated December 28, 2023 .)

Without question, the biggest benefit of Club Level at Walt Disney World is the lounges. We used to have mixed thoughts on these, but have endeavored to stay at every Club Level resort as our recent experiences have been much more favorable. It seems Disney is stepping up its game to better compete with real world luxury hotels. Here are our Club Level Lounge reviews thus far–click each to see lounge & food photos, plus full commentary about each:

  • Atrium Club Level in Disney’s Contemporary Resort
  • Chronos Club Level in Gran Destino Tower at Coronado Springs Resort
  • Kilimanjaro Club Level in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
  • King Kamehameha Club Level in Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
  • Old Faithful Club Level in Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
  • Stone Harbor Club Level in Disney’s Beach Club Resort

These Club Level Lounges each serve coffee, continental breakfast, light afternoon snacks, hors d’oeuvres at dinner time, and dessert & cordials late at night. In our opinion, the lounge is the main reason to book a Club Level resort stay at Walt Disney World, with the food quality and lounge atmosphere being the most important factors to consider. We cover these things in meticulous detail in each of our reviews.

In terms of basics, all Deluxe Resorts at Walt Disney World have at least one Club Level offering. Disney’s Contemporary Resort has 2, but they’re essentially (in our view) interchangeable. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort also used to have two, but that’s no longer the case. It remains to be seen whether that changes again in 2024 once the resort reimagining is finished. We suspect not.

Disney Villa Resorts, more colloquially known as Disney Vacation Club Resorts, do not have Club Levels. However, most Deluxe Villas are also Deluxe Resorts–examples of this would be the Boulder Ridge Villas or Copper Creek Villas (Deluxe Villas, as the names suggest) at Wilderness Lodge (Deluxe Resort). The only exceptions to this are Disney’s Riviera Resort, Saratoga Springs, and Old Key West.

Finally, none of the Value Resorts have Club Level; only one of the Moderate Resorts have a Club Level, Gran Destino Tower at Coronado Springs Resort. Because it’s at a Moderate Resort, Chronos Club at Gran Destino is the cheapest Club Level offering at Walt Disney World.

Confused yet? All you really need to know is that in addition to the above list of Club Levels, there’s also the following that we have not yet reviewed:

  • Innkeeper’s Club at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn
  • Tower Club at Disney’s Contemporary Resort
  • Royal Palm Club at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort
  • Regatta Club at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort

One of the first things to understand about Club Level at Walt Disney World is that it’s not the same as concierge or executive levels at upper echelon chained-brand hotels. If you’re accustomed to the treatment you receive at Park Hyatt, Conrad, Four Seasons, or other real-world luxury hotels that are comparably priced to Disney Deluxes, you’re in for disappointment.

Those brands are renowned for unparalleled attention to detail, guest service, anticipating needs, and going above and beyond to deliver a superlative stay. They’ll book difficult dining reservations, assist with planning, and help make the experience memorable and stress-free. There are myriad ways this is accomplished at real-world hotels, but the salient point is that if you’re expecting Four Seasons or Park Hyatt concierge quality from Disney… don’t .

You really need to use a third-party Authorized Disney Vacation Planner for that type of service and even then, it’s not the same since they’re third party intermediaries. Here’s the Authorized Disney Vacation Planner that we recommend!

yacht and beach club concierge level

For Club Level stays at Walt Disney World, you will  usually  receive an email from Concierge Resort Cast Members prior to your trip to introduce themselves and assist with an itinerary. Whether you actually receive this correspondence is hit or miss, and it’s often sent out after dining and other reservation windows have already opened–and the most coveted options are booked up.

If you want or need this type of concierge planning assistance, relying upon the Concierge Resort Cast Members at Walt Disney World would not be our recommended course of action. At best, they’re going to spend a couple of hours providing boilerplate advice and perhaps reserve you whatever’s readily available in terms of ADRs at their convenience. They can also help a bit upon arrival at the in-person desk, but by then, it’s usually too late. (These Cast Members do not  have priority access to dining reservations or anything else.)

In short, Club Level is not about superlative service or planning prowess at Walt Disney World. To be sure, there are great, long-tenured Cast Members working at the Club Level Lounges. We’ve generally found them to be personable; if you’re looking for friendly faces to greet you in the Club Level Lounges, they are perfect.

yacht and beach club concierge level

The lounges are really where Club Level shines at Walt Disney World, and are the primary selling point of booking Club Level. You’ll get the most bang for your buck out of the stay if you make a point of eating multiple meals per day in the lounge. Most people will take advantage of continental breakfast, but not lunch, dinner, or late night desserts.

Breakfast is almost exclusively cold items, plus oatmeal and maybe one other hot dish. If you’re lucky, you’ll find some nice meats and cheeses that can be made into a sandwich for something substantive. Maybe an exclusive/unique item or two. It’s enough to fill you up and get you through until lunch, but it’s not exactly a luxurious spread.

The light afternoon snacks are exactly that–usually chips, hummus and pita, a variety of vegetables, and various other random things. This definitely should not be considered lunch, as there’s almost no way to make a meal of this service at any of the Club Level Lounges at Walt Disney World.

yacht and beach club concierge level

As a general rule, the evening hors d’oeuvres are the best offering, with numerous small plate dishes that are typically prepared by chefs from Signature Restaurants (Disney’s term for fine dining) located at the resort. These tend to be very good to great, and despite being ‘small plates’ and Disney deliberately avoiding the term dinner to describe this service, you could easily make a meal of them.

The quality of this service varies from resort to resort, but across the board, we think it has improved in the last couple of years. In fact, elevated hors d’oeuvres quality is one of the big reasons we’ve started revisiting all of the Club Level Lounges. If you can take advantage of breakfast (which should be a given) and dinner plus dessert service most nights of your stay, Club Level can be much easier to justify from a value for money perspective.

In addition to access to the Club Lounge, guests staying at each Club Level have access to the Concierge Resort Cast Members between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. These Cast Members are found at desks outside of the lounge or nearby, and can assist with tickets, dining, recreation, transportation, child care, and daily itinerary planning.

These Cast Members cannot get you into restaurants that are fully booked, or score Lightning Lane access for attractions that have run out of their daily allotment. However, if you call or text a Concierge Resort Cast Member while you’re in the parks and ask for help booking an ADR, they might just be able to work some magic. (No promises on that.)

yacht and beach club concierge level

When it comes to what Signature Services does not do, Walt Disney World no longer offers enhanced VIP services for Club Level guests for $50 per person per day. With paid Genie+ replacing free FastPass, it is no longer possible to buy 3 extra FastPass+ entitlements when staying Club Level.

At present, there is no comparable service offered for Genie+ or Lightning Lanes when staying Club Level. That could change, but we’re skeptical given the fundamental differences between FastPass and Genie. In any case, everything you need to know, including ride priorities, strategy for avoiding pitfalls, maximizing your time saved & ride count, and much more is covered in our Guide to Genie+ and Lightning Lanes at Walt Disney World .

We  do  expect this to change sometime soon, as advance-booking is coming for Lightning Lanes in Spring 2024. Our guess is that Club Level guests won’t immediately have access to purchase extra Lightning Lane selections, but we’d still expect that to happen at some point in 2024. We’ll keep you posted.

Objectively, the cost of staying Club Level ranges from around +$120/night to +$375/night depending on the resort, room tier, and season. For a general rule, the more expensive the hotel and room category, the greater the added cost. However, this isn’t always true.

For instance, adding Club Level at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa would “only” be an additional $228 on New Year’s Eve. That’s Walt Disney World’s most expensive hotel on its most expensive night of the year. The surcharge for Wilderness Lodge on that same night would be $274.

This is further complicated by discounts, which can change the gap depending upon what’s excluded, available, and so forth. You rely shouldn’t rely on a resource for this to determine the price difference. You’ll see for yourself when you actually price out a room for your travel dates and can see the Club Level cost versus that of other available rooms.

yacht and beach club concierge level

With that said, the premium for staying in Chronos Club at Gran Destino is always the lowest. It can be less than $100 extra for many nights after discounts. Again, this is because Chronos Club is at a Moderate Resort, so the baseline price is lower to begin with.

Despite this, we view Chronos Club as one of the best Club Levels in all of Walt Disney World. Like Gran Destino Tower as a whole, it punches far above its weight, and offers tremendous bang for buck. In fact, if your only consideration is value for money, you can stop right here: Chronos Club is the clear winner, and the competition isn’t even close.

Assuming you cram 4 adults in the Club Level room–because nothing says posh hotel stay like 4 adults in one hotel room–you’re looking at around $25 to $50 per person per night for Club Level. If you do two meals per day (breakfast and dinner) in the Club Level Lounge, or even just breakfast plus dessert and a couple of beers when you return from the park, you’re already getting your money’s worth on the lower end of the pricing premium spectrum.

However, I am guessing that your only consideration is not  value for money…or you probably wouldn’t be looking at Club Level in the first place. (But if you are that rare guest looking to splurge on Club Level while squeezing as much value out of it as possible, look no further–Chronos Club is the one for you!)

yacht and beach club concierge level

It should go without saying, but the larger your party and the more meals you eat in the lounge, the better the value proposition. Add the Resort Concierge service to the mix, as well as the views and ambiance in the lounge, and it becomes pretty easy to justify Club Level.

At the other end of the spectrum, if you’re a party of 2 adults and will only do breakfast in the lounge before rope dropping the parks and staying until park closing (thus missing all subsequent food services in the lounge), it’s literally impossible to justify Club Level. In general, this is not something for “park commandos,” it’s for those wanting a more leisurely, luxurious, and pampered Walt Disney World experience.

In scenarios that don’t fall on either end of those extreme spectrums, there’s doing Club Level simply because you want to treat yo self to an excellent, once in a lifetime kind of experience. Maybe you want the best view in the house at Wilderness Lodge, or to strut around the Polynesian wearing your lei like a rockstar—a modern day Jon Bon Jovi. Sometimes it’s fun to splurge on a taste of luxury because it’s just something you flat out want to do.

Everyone makes purchases that would not pass muster if scrutinized from a value for money perspective. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. There’s no reason to feel bad about wanting what you think will be a cool or convenient experience for the sake of that experience. Anyone who claims every decision they make is 100% rational and 0% emotional is lying. If you want to stay Club Level at Walt Disney World for one of these reasons—or some other intrinsic sense of happiness—more power to you. Only you know what will make your vacation special to you!

yacht and beach club concierge level

We are a party of two adults, and we’ve made Club Level work for us. We discuss the specifics in each of those reviews above, but here’s the CliffNotes version of that: we do split stays, with the Club Level portion of our trip for 1-2 nights at the end of a trip.

If you’re unfamiliar with the concept of a split stay, see our How to Do Split Stays at Walt Disney World Hotels . As you can see there, we are huge advocates of split stays for a number of reasons. When it comes to this, we highly recommend doing the Club Level portion at the end of your trip, rather than beginning.

In part, this is because it’s really tough to go from Club Level back to normal accommodations. More importantly, we recommend this because you’ll spend the first portion of your trip racing around the parks doing everything that you want to get done, exhausting yourselves in the progress. Then at the end, you’ll have a Club Level stay to relax, rejuvenate, and actually vacation.

When we stay Club Level at Walt Disney World, we seldom leave the resort. With this in mind, our least favorite is the Atrium Club Level at Contemporary Resort. Chronos Club is normally a great value and something we really enjoy, but we don’t like hanging around Gran Destino all day, so it’s out from this perspective.

yacht and beach club concierge level

Our two favorite Club Levels at Walt Disney World are those at Beach Club and Wilderness Lodge. We love taking advantage of Stone Harbor Club during breaks from floating around the lazy river in Stormalong Bay, or sitting in a comfy overstuffed chair in Old Faithful Club while gazing down at that glorious lobby. We like to unwind and make the most of the luxurious stay while doing Club Level.

For choosing the right Club Level for you–or getting the details right on a split stay, once again Here’s the Authorized Disney Vacation Planner that we recommend . They can help you come up with a split stay “hotel plan” like this that works for your needs. Your interests are going to differ from ours, but they can listen to your family’s interests and priorities and book something customized just for you. (Plus, they get their commission from Disney, so there is no charge to you for them to book your trip and help you plan!)

yacht and beach club concierge level

The math on Club Level only works out if you’re viewing it as a luxury experience or splurge. If you’re singularly value-oriented, Club Level is never going to make sense. You could simply do grocery delivery and have snacks at your leisure in your Walt Disney World hotel room and come out way ahead in terms of savings. Of course, nothing screams “luxury hotel stay” like having groceries delivered and preparing oatmeal in your room.

Not that we’re knocking that. We’ve done grocery delivery several times and Club Level several times. Some trips we want to travel as inexpensively as possible, other times we want to splurge and treat ourselves to luxurious experience. There’s certainly a place for both styles of traveling.

yacht and beach club concierge level

One thing to reiterate here while we’re discussing a luxurious experience, is that this refers almost entirely to the Club Level Lounge, its food and atmosphere. Concierge Resort Cast Members are generally great and helpful with planning questions you might have.

However, concierge service at Walt Disney World is not the same as it is in real world hotel counterparts. We have stayed at Grand Club level at several Hyatt hotels, among other chains, and the difference at luxury hotels is that the service there is truly above and beyond .

Real world concierges can pull strings and make coveted bookings, quickly have tickets delivered to a hotel, etc. Walt Disney World concierges can make the same bookings available in the My Disney Experience app in lieu of you doing it. This can be a nice convenience, but it’s usually nothing you couldn’t do yourself.

Additionally and more importantly, those real world resort concierges go out of their way to make you feel special and pampered. Their service is very attentive and proactive. Disney’s service is much more reactionary; if you need help, it’s there. If not, there’s a decent chance no Concierge Resort Cast Members will interact with you after check-in.

In that regard, calling it “concierge level” or “concierge lounges” at Walt Disney World is really a misnomer. While the company itself sometimes refers to the level or lounges as concierge, those references are infrequent and often just aimed at convention guests. (Presumably due to their experience with real world concierge levels, but not Club Level? I dunno. Sometimes Disney’s verbiage is confusing and inconsistent.)

yacht and beach club concierge level

In general, this is a fundamental difference that really must be stressed for Walt Disney World first-timers who are used to real world 5-star hotels. If you pampered service is your paramount concern, you are better off booking the Four Seasons Resort Orlando.

With that said, one thing we should note here is that Disney has been improving by leaps and bounds on this front. Walt Disney World wants this audience of “whale” guests, and has lost market share to luxury hotels that have opened around Orlando. There are plenty of reasons to believe Disney is catering to more affluent guests, and improving Club Level offerings to capture this clientele certainly makes sense.

yacht and beach club concierge level

Overall, we’re generally fans of Club Level at Walt Disney World and, for us, it’s worth the money on some trips. The Club Level experience has improved in quality the last couple of years, which certainly makes it easier to justify, too. The lounge atmosphere and views are important to us, and having the services of the Resort Concierge Cast Members is a nice bonus for us.

Still, we like to mix things up. Sometimes we splurge on Club Level and almost no park time; sometimes we focus on parks and simply book a cheap hotel and do quick, inexpensive meals. It varies from trip to trip–and can even vary within trips.

Ultimately, by staying Club Level as part of a split stay during our ‘resort days’, we are able to make the most of our Club Level stays, relaxing in the lounge, eating and drinking as much as we can. From this perspective, we think Club Level works well and is a compelling option. Your vacation plans may vary, in which case the value that Club Level offers to you will differ. Either way, we hope this introduction to Club Level at Walt Disney World has proven helpful for planning your trip, and determining whether the concierge experience is right for you!

My mom and I just returned last night from a 5 night club level stay at the Boardwalk Inn. Everyone working at the Innkeeper’s Lounge was amazing! We had such a wonderful time. All of our meals were eaten in the lounge except for one dinner at Epcot. This was an incredible splurge and I hope we can do it again someday. The funny part is that this room was booked on Priceline and at the time, we didn’t even realize we had chosen a club level room. Such a fun surprise. I would recommend this experience to adults that are not doihng many park days during their stay and want to focus on the amenities of the resort.

the once and only time we stayed in CL was at Animal Kindon and was able to book a few days CL the split to the DVC 1 bedroom villa. We booked a studio CL and for us the studio was quite crowded and the move to the 1 bedroom villa was very welcome after 2 day with 2 of us and 3 kids. teens and 1 under 5. and we loved the lounge and used it whilst there and we did try to make these couple days resort days. But the number one reason we booked CL was access to book the sunrise safari, which was offer ONLY for Cl bookings. THAT was worth every penny! early but a 3 hour semi private safari and then a full breakfast for just our group of 20 people (?) at Jiko not open to public . I don’t know if any other resort cub levels have special things to access like that, but add that even though we paid for the safari tix added, plus the food and drinks and just having a quiet corner to be alone. I’d love to hear what each resort does that like to make it more enticing to partake. Pricey and not money-worthy yes, but things we’ll never otherwise get to do…. I’d love to know

Since having our twins we’ve always stayed in 1 bedroom villas (booking directly through Disney with a discount). We took a trip this past summer with just my husband and I, stayed at Coronado Springs, and absolutely fell in love. Imagine our excitement to learn that the deluxe suite there with the separate living room, includes club access for a comparable price as a 1 bedroom villa! We’re so looking forward to our upcoming trip this summer!

' src=

We absolutely adore the Regatta Club at Yacht Club. the cast members are incredible. we love them like family. We didn’t stay there at all in December, but stopped to leave little Christmas gifts for them…and actually got yo see all of them. we checked out the bounce back offer and booked 3 nights there in December 2024 just because we love the cast members! and what a fabulous bounce back offer we got!!!!

Thank you for the updated post for CL at WDW. We have done all of the CL lounges at Disney Land and always find that you can make a meal out of all of the offerings, BF, Lunch and Dinner, so I was surprised to read in your post that lunch was so scant at WDW. At the DL resorts lunch always consists of the normal chips and snack but also rolls with cold cuts and cheeses so you can make sandwiches as well as PB&J’s for the kids (and adults too) along with fruits and veggies. Sometimes they’ll also have a soup offering during the day. The one that would most often do that was the Grand Californian. It’ll be interesting to see what they offer when we’re there. Our last stay at the Poly was in 2021 and their lounge was still closed due to Covid. Since my kids love the Poly that’s where we’ve stayed. But we look forward to trying other lounges in the future. I so appreciate you sharing all of them here with us.

We have just stayed at the Atrium Club Level at the Contemporary for a special birthday, despite misgivings that it’s not the best on property based on this and other such reviews. We actually loved it! Cast was great! The food was all good! We had hot breakfast items, more than enough for a full meal to start the day. We took full advantage of adult beverages in the afternoons/evenings. As Tom mentions, this was a ‘stay and chill’ stay, not a park ninja stay. I’d do this again and will for sure try Wilderness Lodge as it’s my favorite hotel.

' src=

Our last 4 visits to WDW have been CL visits. Our first CL was Beach Club, it was way less than I had hoped. This was before Covid. The next 2 were at Contemporary CL February ’19 and December ’22. There were still many things not open open 3rd visit, however Contemporary blew away BC and we absolutely adored it there. Then came Poly. The week prior to Easter ’23. I cannot even begin to tell you how magical it was! We were traveling with 2 grandchildren, both vegetarian and one neurodivergent. They went waaaaay out of their way to make the trip memorable and comfortable, and to make sure the grandchildren had plenty of vegetarian options during evening apps. Lunch and breakfast were awesome. The best part was returning in time every evening (except one) to grab evening appetizers, and then a few snacks for our room to enjoy with the fireworks from our balcony. We will absolutely go again! Shout out to every CMat CL Contemporary and Poly! You are all beyond awesome!

' src=

Hi! Great review, I just want to mention one thing that I think it’s worth to mention. We booked a club level room for 3 adults at Polynesian for 5 nights, and the price was about $400 more than having 2 people staying at club level. I don’t know if it’s always true, or just because of specific time and resort (but I think it is more likely to be the former since I have tried several time period with different resorts). So I just want to mention this since the math won’t simply increase your denominator when you have more people.

' src=

We were lucky enough to be upgraded to Yacht Club club level and I have to say that if I was paying for it…. I might have been a tad disappointed.

It was nice to get good espresso coffee of a morning and nice white wine on a sunny verandah of the evening but the food quality was really poor and evidently cheap – mac and cheese, wilted carrot sticks, oatmeal.

Housekeeping were also awful – including banging on our door at 8am morning of departure and really quite grumpy.

If I had been spending $800 a night (!) I would have lost my mind at it.

' src=

Geek, like you we were also upgraded to CL after we were assigned a room that let’s just say smelled really bad. We had always wanted to try CL and are so glad we got to try it without paying. Wife and I would have been so disappointed for really wasting our money. You really have to either be at the resort a lot, drink alcohol daily to get the value out of it. Or comeback to the resort during the serving times which is really inconvenient to do. I will say that the CMs were great and using CL made you feel pampered, but for us that is not enough to justify the cost. Can you make a meal out of the apps they serve? I guess but why would I want to pay a couple hundred more for a cold cut mini sandwich etc. So we’re one and done.

' src=

Past stays with club level were so wonderful and the staff concierge employees were so helpful in planning. This is no longer the case. I booked everything myself, they will not help at all. There were two experiences we really wanted for this trip and I asked in advance for tips in booking and help and all I have ever received as a response is that I am better off doing everything myself and they don’t know. I’m sorry, but the lounge snacks (hot or cold) are not worth several hundred dollars extra from a normal hotel room each night. I definitely will not be staying club level ever again.

Disney Beach Club vs Yacht Club (Which to Choose)

yacht and beach club concierge level

The Beach Club Resort and its sister, Disney’s Yacht Club, are two of my family’s favorite hotels at Disney World. You really can’t beat the ideal location, family friendly restaurants, and deluxe amenities at these Walt Disney World resort hotels. But, you may be wondering which of the two deluxe resorts you should book for your upcoming vacation.

While it’s true the Beach Club and Yacht Club share almost everything, the two resorts are also very different from each other. For example, one of the resorts offers a quieter vibe and rooms with full balconies while the other hotel features closer access to Epcot and restaurants. If you are looking for a comparison of Disney’s Beach Club vs Yacht Club resort, this post provides a comprehensive guide to help you choose the best hotel for your trip!

(This post may contain affiliate links. If you make a purchase through one of these links, I may receive a small compensation at no extra cost to you. Please see my disclosure policy at the bottom of this page for more details.)

Beach Club vs Yacht Club Rooms

Depending on availability for your vacation dates, Disney’s Beach Club Resort and Yacht Club Resort offer several options for hotel rooms. If you’re comparing the rooms at Disney Beach Club vs Yacht Club, we would crown Yacht Club the winner here .

Disney's Yacht Club Resort

The rooms at Disney’s Yacht Club have updated hardwood flooring rather than carpet. Also, the balconies at the Yacht Club are full balconies as opposed to the Beach Club where you will find standing only Juliet Balconies.

Standard View Rooms

Standard View rooms at the Beach Club and Yacht Club Resorts offer views of the rooftop or parking area. These rooms can sleep up to 5 adults since some of the standard view rooms have 2 queen beds and 1 daybed.

Garden View Rooms

Garden View rooms offer views of the garden, woods, or lawn area at Disney’s Beach Club and Yacht Club. These rooms can also sleep up to 5 adults as some provide 2 queen beds and 1 daybed.

Water View Rooms

Water View rooms at the Yacht Club and Beach Club Resorts offer views of one of the pools or of Crescent Lake. These rooms also sleep up to 5 adults if you have a room with 2 queen beds and 1 daybed.

Deluxe Room

Deluxe Rooms at Disney’s Beach Club offer more square footage than the regular hotel rooms. They can sleep up to 6 adults since they offer 2 queen beds and a queen sleeper sofa.

Club Level Rooms

The Club Level rooms at Disney’s Beach Club and Yacht Club Resorts offer standard, garden, or water views similar to the regular hotel rooms. However, you also receive special perks if you book a room in the Club Level. These are some of the benefits you will receive:

  • concierge services
  • Club Lounge with snacks and beverages
  • complimentary health club access
  • turndown service

Disney’s Beach Club Resort offers several options for suites.

  • The 1 Bedroom Suite can sleep up to 4 adults with a king sized bed in the bedroom and a queen sleeper sofa in the separate sitting area. The 1 bedroom suite offers either garden or water views.
  • The 2 Bedroom Suite can sleep up to 7 adults. It offers two separate bedrooms: one with a king bed and one with 2 queen beds. The 2 Bedroom Suite also has a daybed. Your views from this suite will be either of the garden or the water.
  • The Nantucket VP Suite sleeps up to 2 adults with a king sized bed. It offers views of the water.
  • The Newport Presidential sleeps up to 7 adults with 2 double beds, 1 king bed, and 1 daybed. It provides views of the water and Epcot.

Disney’s Yacht Club also offers a suite for guests. This 2-bedroom suite includes club level access and features two king beds and a queen pullout.

Room Requests

The rooms at Beach Club Resort come with a mini refrigerator. You can request a microwave when you check in as well. Other items you may request include bed rails, highchair, crib, and connecting rooms.

David's Vacation Club Rentals

As mentioned above, it is important to note that not all of the rooms at Beach Club have FULL balconies. Many of them only offer the small Juliet type balcony. If a full-sized balcony is important to you, I HIGHLY recommend requesting this during online check in.

Beach Club vs Yacht Club Location

The Beach Club Resort at Walt Disney World sits near Epcot Theme Park and Disney’s Boardwalk entertainment district. Since this resort is located on Crescent Lake, you get amazing water views and sandy beaches where your kids can play. Beach Club’s sister resort, Disney’s Yacht Club, is located right next door.

Disney's Beach Club Resort entrance from boardwalk

These two resorts are connected, so you can easily walk between the two and enjoy the amenities each hotel has to offer. One of the most popular amenities at these sister resorts is their elaborate pool: Stormalong Bay. Even though the check-in time typically is not until 3:00, guests of the resorts can use the pool before their room is officially ready.

One of our top reasons for choosing to stay at Disney’s Beach Club and Yacht Club is their prime location. Below, I will detail how to get from the hotels to each of the Walt Disney World theme parks. Since both of these resorts sit on the same property, there really isn’t much of a difference on their location .

Skyliner and walkway to Epcot International Gateway

When comparing the Disney Beach Club vs Yacht Club, the Beach Club is slightly closer to Epcot while the Yacht Club is a bit closer to Hollywood Studios. The differences in distance are so small that I wouldn’t recommend basing your decision on that factor though . On a side note, if you are looking for tips on choosing the right Disney World hotel, join our Facebook group for personalized help on finding the best resort for your family!

If you are wondering how far Disney’s Beach Club and Yacht Club are from Epcot, you will be pleased to know it’s a short five-minute walk. You just stroll along the walkway near Crescent Lake and follow the signs for Epcot. You will arrive at the International Gateway entrance to Epcot, which is at the back of the park near the World Showcase.

to Hollywood Studios

If you are wanting to travel to Disney’s Hollywood Studios from the Beach Club Resort or the Yacht Club, you have several options to get there. You can walk along the scenic paths to the theme park, which takes about 20 minutes.

ferry boat at Disney's Beach Club Resort

You can also take the water shuttle from the Beach Club to Hollywood Studios. Since the boat makes some stops along the way, this also takes about 20 minutes. You can also utilize the Skyliner from the International Gateway. This gondola ride will take you straight to Hollywood Studios.

to Magic Kingdom

If you want to access Magic Kingdom from the Yacht Club and Beach Club Resorts, you will need to board the Disney bus outside the lobby of one of the hotels. Depending on when you are visiting WDW, this shuttle bus may combine pickups by stopping at both the Beach Club and Disney’s Yacht Club. Magic Kingdom is about a 20-minute drive from Disney’s Beach Club Resort.

to Animal Kingdom

If you are looking to travel to Animal Kingdom Theme Park, you would need to board the Disney bus in front of the hotel. Each bus promptly displays where they are headed, so it’s super easy to catch the correct one. This ride is usually around 20 minutes long.

to Disney’s Boardwalk

view of Disney's Boardwalk from Beach Club and Yacht Club

Disney’s Boardwalk is super easy to access from the Yacht Club and Beach Club Resorts. The Boardwalk is located right across the lake from the hotels and is a short 5-minute walk. This area of Disney World is one of our favorites, and its close proximity to the hotels is a huge perk to staying in the Beach Club/Yacht Club area.

to Disney Springs

You would also need to drive or take the Disney shuttle bus to Disney Springs. This ride typically takes 20 minutes.

Activities Comparison

Disney’s Beach Club Resort and the Yacht Club offer many fun activities for families visiting with kids. Again, since these two hotels are sister resorts, guests staying at either hotel may experience activities at both hotels . In other words, the Beach Club and Yacht Club share the guest activities listed below.

The Beach Club and Yacht Club share an arcade that is located right by Stormalong Bay Pool. The arcade is full of fun video games and sports tables. This is a great rainy day activity!

Outdoor Movies

Disney’s Beach Club and Yacht Club resort show nightly movies outside on the lawn or sand. You can check out the entertainment schedule for the dates of your visit to determine which movies are playing. This activity schedule is usually released at the beginning of each month.

Kids love spending their evenings roasting marshmallows and making s’mores by the campfire. Sometimes Mickey’s friends even join in the fun!

Guests of Disney’s Beach Club Resort, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, and Disney’s Beach Club Villas have access to three leisure pool areas (one at each resort). In addition, these three Disney resorts share a main pool, Stormalong Bay, which I will discuss in more detail below.

Stormalong Bay is a massive pool and water play area shared by Disney’s Beach Club and Yacht Club resorts. If you have set aside time to enjoy this elaborate swimming area, note that pool towels are complimentary and available in the pool gates.

Stormalong Bay

Stormalong Bay offers lots of different spaces for swimming and playing in the water. Near the site of the large shipwreck model, you will find a kiddie pool perfect for little ones. This pool is in a contained area and is separate from the larger pool area.

Stormalong Bay Pool at Disney's Beach Club

This kiddie pool tends to be a bit quieter than the main pool. Stormalong Bay also has a sand bottom pool that is great for babies and toddlers . The super shallow water allows them to safely splash and play in the sand. You will find deeper areas of water to swim as well. Disney’s Beach Club Resort offers complimentary safety vests that little ones can use while playing and swimming.

In addition to the many swimming areas at Stormalong Bay, guests can enjoy the lazy river. You will find complimentary inner tubes available near the lazy river to make floating even more fun!

Water Slides

You will find two water slides at Stormalong Bay Pool. The larger of the two slides is a whopping 230 feet long. It begins atop the huge shipwreck model (pictured above) at the edge of the lake. This large water slide does not have a height requirement; however, there is a limit of one person at a time on the slide. This means that parents are not permitted to slide with their toddler or small child.

Stormalong Bay at Disney’s Beach Club Resort

If you have an adventurous toddler who enjoys thrill rides, you can usually wait in the water at the bottom of the slide. This way you are available to grab your little one after he/she lands in the water. Children are permitted to wear complimentary safety vests on the slide as well.

*Note that you have to leave the main pool gates and climb many steep stairs to get to the top of this slide. Therefore, you will not want your toddler entering the slide area alone.

toddler slide at Disney's Beach Club and Yacht Club Resorts

The smaller of the two slides is near the entrance to the larger slide. When you arrive in the shipwreck area, you will see a small, kiddie pool with a miniature water slide perfect for toddlers. Smaller kids should have no problem climbing to the top of this slide and sliding down to the pool below. You can clearly see them the whole time.

Undercover Tourist Banner

The shallow sand bottom section is perfect for toddlers and little kids to splash and dig. The lazy river is super fun and relaxing. The main water slide is a big hit for kids and adults. The kiddie water slide and pool area are great for toddlers and those who want a calmer sliding experience.

Price Comparison

Disney’s Yacht Club and Beach Club Resorts are typically priced similarly. My family and I often find that one may be a bit cheaper than the other for a specific set of dates, but a different set of dates may produce different results. If you are interested in experiencing all the great amenities of Disney’s Beach Club and Yacht Club resorts for a fraction of the price, I recommend looking into renting Disney Vacation Club points for a stay at the Beach Club Villas.

hotels with pools and text Beach Club vs Yacht Club Resorts

These villas are located on the same property as the Beach Club/Yacht Club Resorts, and they have access to the same great restaurants and activities! You can check out the “cost calculator” at David’s Vacation Club Rentals to see how much you save on your vacation dates. I have personally used David’s rental services multiple times and have always had great experiences!

Things to Do Near the Resorts

Since Disney’s Beach Club and Yacht Club Resorts are located in such a great spot near the Boardwalk and other resorts, you will find lots of kid friendly things to do within walking distance of the hotel.

Epcot Fireworks

One of our favorite activities just outside Disney’s Beach Club/Yacht Club is to view the nightly fireworks show at Epcot. You can grab some ice cream from Beaches and Cream and choose a spot near the walkway to Epcot. This is a great way to enjoy the fireworks show without having to maneuver between the crowds of people inside the park. It’s also a nice activity to enjoy at Disney World without purchasing a park ticket!

The Skyliner is one of the newer additions to Walt Disney World. This gondola ride connects several of the resort hotels to Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. If you are looking for a unique activity, take a ride on the Skyliner with your kids.

Fantasia Gardens and Fairways Miniature Golf is an 18-hole course themed off the movie Fantasia . Since this kid friendly activity is located near The Swan hotel, guests of Disney’s Yacht Club and Beach Club can easily walk to the mini golf course.

Restaurants

In addition to the easy access to the restaurants on Disney’s Boardwalk, guests at the Beach Club and Yacht Club Resorts have lots of dining options right at the hotel.

Beaches and Cream Soda Shop

Beaches and Cream is my personal all time favorite restaurant at Disney World. This diner offers all kinds of delicious options, including a tomato bisque that is out of this world!

Beaches and Cream Soda Shop entrance

Open daily for lunch and dinner, Beaches and Cream Soda Shop is located right beside Stormalong Bay Pool. They are famous for the ice cream concoction knows as The Kitchen Sink. Note that you are able to order some ice cream and to-go items from the window without actually going inside the diner.

Beach Club Marketplace

Beach Club Marketplace

If you are looking for a quick stop on your way to the theme parks, Beach Club Marketplace is a great option. This dining venue serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Its diverse menu offers something for everyone. Beach Club Marketplace is our go-to for a fast breakfast or a quick snack before heading out for the day.

Martha’s Vineyard

Martha's Vineyard at Disney's Beach Club Resort

Martha’s Vineyard is a lounge that serves all kinds of adult beverages. You can also order appetizers like clam chowder, chicken wings, and calamari from this venue.

Hurricane Hanna’s

Hurricane Hanna’s is located right outside by Stormalong Bay Pool. You can order your food and beverages from the counter and dine outside at the available tables.

Ale and Compass

Ale and Compass is a sit down restaurant located at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. This dining venue serves family favorites for breakfast and options like seafood, chicken, and steak for dinner.

The Market at Ale and Compass

The Market at Ale and Compass is the quick service dining venue located at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. Similar to The Beach Club Marketplace, this restaurant is a great stop for a quick meal.

Cape May Cafe

Cape May Cafe is located near the lobby of Disney’s Beach Club Resort. This restaurant is buffet style and serves your favorite seafood options. Cape May Cafe is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. However, the restaurant takes on a different theme for breakfast when it becomes the site for Minnie’s Beach Bash.

Yachtsman Steakhouse

Yachtsman Steakhouse is a signature dining restaurant at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. You will find steak and seafood among other options on the menu. Since this is a signature dining experience, guests must adhere to a dress code .

Crew’s Cup Lounge

Crew’s Cup Lounge is located near Yactsman Steakhouse at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. Here, you will find all kinds of adult beverages along with a few options for appetizers or snacks.

In Room Dining

Disney’s Beach Club Resort is one of the Walt Disney World hotels that offers room service. You will find an In Room Dining Menu in your hotel room with instructions on how to place an order.

David's Vacation Club Rentals

The menu includes options for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late night dining. You can even pre-order your breakfast the night before, so your family can eat in the room as you get ready for the parks.

Character Dining

As mentioned above, Cape May Cafe at Disney’s Beach Club Resort becomes a character dining experience each morning for breakfast. Minnie’s Beach Bash Breakfast is a super fun way to start your day! The breakfast is buffet style and has a wide range of items to choose. You will even find a stand serving made to order omelets!

Minnie’s Beach Bash Breakfast at Disney’s Beach Club

Minnie, Donald, Daisy, and Goofy each walk around the dining areas to greet you at your table. The characters are decked out in their finest beach wear to continue the theme of the dining experience.

Beach Club and Yacht Club vs Other Disney Resorts

Since Disney’s Beach Club and Yacht Club Resorts are my family’s favorite hotels at Disney World, I will try to explain WHY we love them so much! Below, I will compare the Beach Club/Yacht Club to other resorts at Disney World, so you can get an idea of why we choose to stay at these resorts. If you would like to see more comparisons between other hotels, feel free to comment below with the resorts you are considering. I know how stressful and overwhelming planning a Disney World vacation can be!

vs Beach Club Villas

Like the Yacht Club Resort, Disney’s Beach Club Villas have access to all the restaurants, activities, and amenities at the Beach Club resort. My recommendation is to choose the cheapest option of the three resorts . As mentioned above, renting DVC points for Beach Club Villas is often the best way to save money.

vs Boardwalk Inn

If you stay at Disney’s Boardwalk Inn, you get the perks of the awesome location near Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Boardwalk. You can also easily walk over to the Beach Club to enjoy the dining venues located there. The one big drawback to Boardwalk Inn is that you don’t get Stormalong Bay . Disney’s Boardwalk Inn has a really fun pool, but it just doesn’t compare to the elaborate swimming pool at the Beach Club.

vs Monorail Resorts

You may be wondering how the Beach Club compares to the monorail resorts: Grand Floridian, Contemporary, and Polynesian . These three resorts offer really easy access to Magic Kingdom, which is a huge perk if you have little kids.

Disney's Polynesian Resort

They all offer great theming and activities as well. However, Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts get our pick because they’re usually priced significantly lower than the monorail resorts .

vs Caribbean Beach Resort

It is difficult to compare Disney’s Beach Club Resort with Caribbean Beach because they really aren’t similar at all. Even though the names may cause you to think differently, the two resorts do not have much in common. Caribbean Beach is a moderate hotel that is lovely, but it does not offer the amenities that the deluxe resorts do.

If you are not planning to spend a lot of time at your hotel, you can certainly look into Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. However, you will not have access to the prime location, restaurants, pool, and other activities that the Beach Club offers .

Final Review of Disney Beach Club vs Yacht Club

Since these two resorts share EVERYTHING, it’s really a matter of personal taste when deciding between these two hotels. The Disney Beach Club has a more relaxed vibe, while Yacht Club seems more sophisticated . We find that Stormalong Bay Pool is reason enough to stay at these amazing hotels. Who can pass up the opportunity to experience the best pool at Disney World?!

In addition, the location, restaurants, and activities offered at these deluxe resort hotels help to make your vacation one you will never forget! If I were planning a trip to Disney World, I would choose whichever is cheaper between the two ! A Resorts Gal Review of Staying Club Level at Disney’s Beach Club

Staying club level at Disney’s Beach Club is a treat. It’s so much a treat that staying on the club-level floor will leave you feeling like you’re living your best life during your Disney vacation. If you’ve ever considered staying club level at Walt Disney World, you might have some reservations about the price. That’s completely understandable—it’s expensive.

A standard club level room at Disney’s Beach Club starts around $800.00 per night before any discounts. Those ranges are based on the season, with no room discounts applied. So, if you obtain a room discount or package deal, the rate will likely be less. However, it will still be pricey. A stay on the club level or concierge floor at Disney’s Beach Club is an investment.

This review of the club level at Disney’s Beach Club will discuss our experience and the benefits of staying in this type of offering. Additionally, I’ll provide an overview of Disney’s club-level offering that answers common questions about the service.

I was immediately intrigued when I first heard that Disney’s Beach Club offered a concierge floor. I began researching this opportunity because it sounded like something my family would enjoy.

At the time, we traveled to Disney often but had never heard of a club-level experience. Little did I know that all the deluxe resorts at Disney offered a concierge floor. As I began researching, I had difficulty finding valid or up-to-date information about staying at the club level. I even started checking an online forum that had a club level thread. Unfortunately, there weren’t many updates specific to the club level at Disney’s Beach Club.

If you’ve ever read our Disney’s Beach Club Resort Review , you know it’s my favorite resort at Disney. So, I was surprised that I had not discovered the Stone Harbor Club.

Stone Harbor Club is the name of the club level lounge at Disney’s Beach Club. Located on the 5th floor, it’s exclusive to club level guests. So, in the spirit of trying new things, I reserved a club level stay for our next vacation. Many vacations later, I can affirm we enjoy the club level at Beach Club immensely. We have become pros at the whole club level thing. But as I mentioned above, club level is expensive.

For those who plan to spend most of their days in the parks, it’s probably not the right choice unless you’re looking for exclusivity. However, the club level is worth considering for those who sleep late, come in from the parks early, or know they’ll spend a balanced amount of time at the resort.

Therefore, it’s important to discern whether or not you’ll make the most of the concierge floor. The last thing you’ll want is to spend extra money on this kind of room and not take advantage of the offerings. With these thoughts in mind, I’ve included a few tips on how to space out dining reservations when planning your trip. I’ll also share how we like stashing late-night snacks in our room’s fridge.

What is Club Level?

Club Level is a special access floor that Walt Disney World offers guests who book this room type. The Stone Harbor Club at Disney’s Beach Club is located on the 5th floor, and guests must have MagicBand or room key privileges to access it. The photo below shows the special MagicBand scanner provided in the elevator. If you don’t use a band, a room card that also does the trick will be provided.

When you scan your band, the 5th-floor button automatically lights up. Occasionally, Disney places club-level guests on other floors to meet room requests. However, you’ll still have these same magic band privileges to access the lounge.

Club Level is kind of an all-day smorgasbord or grazing fest. The lounge has five services throughout the day. Soda, beverages, beer, and wine are also provided in the afternoon and evening. Here’s a list of some of the perks included with a club level stay:

  • Club Lounge Daily Services and Food Offerings
  • Turndown Service
  • Concierge Staff at Guests Disposal
  • Special Welcome

Checking in to the Club Level at Disney’s Beach Club

We arrived Sunday morning at Disney’s Beach Club via our car. We drove to the entrance and had a bellman put our items on a luggage cart. The bellman will store your items until your room is ready. We had a little time to kill, so I decided to see if early check-in was available. I had alerted the staff through the My Disney Experience app that we would arrive before standard check-in time.

Upon entering the hotel and heading over to the guest services desk, I was greeted by a resort manager. I was at the back of the line, and she asked if she could help. For reference, club level guests are often greeted outside upon arrival. Therefore, I assumed she had been alerted that we had come through the gate when we arrived.

The manager quickly identified us as club level guests. One member of our party was parking the car, so we stood in the lobby and talked for a few moments, waiting for his return. Then she escorted us up to the club level floor. We were greeted by two cast members sitting at desks outside the lounge. They presented us with this letter detailing the lounge hours and a few other things.

Club Level Welcome Letter to Disney's Beach Club Stone Harbor Club

Club-level cast members are typically available from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. This personal concierge service is to help assist with any needs during your stay. For example, if you wanted to purchase additional tickets, they could help you with that.

Regarding the welcome letter, I would advise you to take a screenshot of the service times on your phone after receiving it. That way, you can quickly and easily reference the service times for food and beverage offerings during the day. There will undoubtedly be times when you think you might want dessert and can’t remember when the service starts. Or you might be like me and sleep late after a long night at Magic Kingdom.

Then, in the morning, you’ll find yourself lying in bed, wondering if you can still make it to the lounge for breakfast. If that’s the case, roll over, grab your phone, and refer to the screenshot. As far as offerings go, a continental breakfast (with some hot offerings) is provided. Additionally, we have found the dinner offerings enough to make a meal.

We usually enjoy dinner in the lounge on days when we’ve had a late lunch or have been snacking in the parks. Often, the lounge is a suitable replacement for the days you don’t have dining reservations. However, we still like to do two nice restaurants for dinner throughout a week’s stay. After arriving on the concierge floor, we were informed our room wasn’t ready yet. A cast member suggested we visit the lounge and have breakfast or beverages before it closed for the next service changeover.

You can use the lounge any time on your arrival day. However, it will briefly close for small increments while cast members change out the offerings and tidy up the service area. You can also use the lounge on the day you check out. It’s an excellent place to relax if you have a late flight on your travel day. Club level guests can access the lounge until 10:00 p.m. on their check-out day.

Standard Club Level Room at Beach Club

Shortly after our arrival, we received a room-ready text notification. When we returned, I was immediately offered a welcome drink. It was a sparkling wine mixed with something pink. This is a non-advertised perk that should be offered upon your arrival along with the welcome letter.

Our room number was 5714. It was a standard view club level room with a view out to the resort’s bus stop. To the far right, we could also see a glimpse of Spaceship Earth.

Club-level rooms are the same as the rest of the standard resort rooms unless you have an upgraded room. So, you won’t find any special room upgrades. We’ve updated this article to provide photos of the new rooms at Disney’s Beach Club.

These kinds of things are so unexpected and appreciated when they happen. That extra touch solidifies our stays at the Walt Disney World Resort. No, these kinds of things don’t happen all the time, but we are not soon to forget when they do.

Stone Harbor Club Level

The Stone Harbor Club Level offers several services throughout the day. Most of these services are restricted to certain times. Between those services, the lounge might be closed for small periods so the staff can clean.

If you return to your room at approximately 4:15 p.m. and find the lounge closed, you can ask a cast member to provide a drink or snack. However, at 10:00 p.m. each evening, the staff retires, and the lounge closes.

Below is a list of the different services throughout the day:

  • Continental Breakfast
  • Light Snacks
  • Hors d’oeuvres and Select Beverages
  • Desserts and Cordials

Additionally, the Stone Harbor Club Lounge has a seating area. Some people enjoy taking food to their rooms, while others prefer the lounge. We typically prepare a plate and head back to the room with it. However, sometimes we use the lounge.

Disney’s Beach Club Club Level Offerings

Here is a preview of a few items we had throughout the week of our stay. A different flavor of quiche was available daily during breakfast. Below is a photo of one with Canadian Bacon and cheddar.

Each morning, we found a spread of sliced meats, cheese, and smoked salmon with accompaniments.

A bakery box provided an assortment of bagels, regular bread, muffins, and croissants. A toaster was available. Condiments included butter, spreads, jams, jellies, and cream cheese.

Other items, like fruit, yogurt, hard-boiled eggs, and pastries, were available during breakfast service. Here are a few more photos.

Pastry Selection

After breakfast, the entire area is cleared. A few jars of snacks and candies are placed throughout the lounge.

a counter with three jars of candy like Starbursts, Jolly Ranchers, and Dum Dums

These snack mix items are worth trying. We usually grab a few disposable cups and fill them to take to the pool. Soda, coffee, water, juice, and beer are readily available. If you don’t see something, you can ask, and a cast member will provide it if possible. You might consider packing a small, foldable cooler. It will be handy to carry a couple of drinks to the pool.

With so many options, it’s difficult to choose. Thankfully, most of these items are bite-size, making it easy to try several things. Here, we have pastries, white chocolate bark with nuts and dried fruit, and more cookies.

Most of the lounges have a machine that instantly makes various specialty coffee drinks. Below is a photo of the one at the Chronos Club Level at Gran Destino Tower . From my understanding, this machine replaced the former Nespresso machines that were previously available in most of the lounges. If you enjoy a specialty coffee, you must try it. But don’t get too attached. After researching the price, I can’t believe that Disney allows guests to use these things.

During our stay at the Kamehameha Club at the Polynesian , they still had the former Nespresso machine. So you will likely have access to one or the other. Again, if you’re a coffee drinker, don’t overlook either.

an Egro machine that makes coffee

A cast member is usually available to pour wine and champagne during dinner. During dessert, a tray of cordials appears. It has been our experience that a cast member will provide a glass of wine throughout the day, even when it’s not freely available in the lounge.

Evening Cordials include Disaronno, Courvoisier, Amarula, and Kahlua

When we have plans for a late evening, we usually attend the evening service for dinner and stay until the lounge opens for desserts. Then, we’ll prepare a plate of desserts and grab a few glasses of wine to take back to the room. We store the desserts in the room fridge and cover our wine with napkins.

various room temp wines, beer, and refrigerated wines

Then, we’ll head out for fireworks or a park offering extended evening hours for deluxe resort guests. Since the lounge closes at 10:00 p.m., it won’t be available by the time we return. However, we’ll have a late-night snack waiting in the room.

These kinds of things are so enjoyable to us. However, we are spoiled because we visit the parks often. We also enjoy spending time at the resort. This upgrade might not be necessary or beneficial for those trying to maximize their time in the parks.

Turndown Service at Disney’s Beach Club

One other service makes up part of club-level–turndown service. This is similar to the evening service you would expect on a cruise. A housekeeping cast member will stop by your room between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. They will turn down your bed covers or remake them if you have taken a nap.

Additionally, they will replace any towels or linens you have used since the room was last cleaned. They will also leave chocolates on your pillow. I know this extra touch might sound silly to some. But it’s the little things that have a way of making your stay more than memorable.

Update: We have not had turndown service on our last few club levels stay.

The Resorts Gal Spin on Club Level at the Beach Club

At this point, you probably have a good idea of whether or not the club level at Disney’s Beach Club is right for your group. However, it might be worth emphasizing some pros and cons.

First, let’s touch on dining reservations. It’s no secret that Disney World has tons of restaurants that you’ll probably want to enjoy during your trip. If you plan a lot of dining reservations, it is doubtful that you’ll benefit from a club level stay.

Next, how much time will you spend at the resort? I can’t stress enough how important it is to plan your days and breaks when staying club level. The last thing you want is to fork out the extra money and then end up not using the lounge to your advantage. You do not want to be at Magic Kingdom and realize it’s 6:00 p.m., and you probably won’t make it back in time for dinner. This will force you to pay for dinner elsewhere while feeling guilty for paying so much for something you’re not using.

Location-wise, you can’t beat the proximity of Beach Club to Epcot. Since the Beach Club is a short walk to the park, you can quickly return to the resort. Or you can walk over to enjoy fireworks in the evening with valid park admission. When staying at the Beach Club, we think having the park hopper option is essential for the extra time at Epcot.

So is club level at the Beach Club worth it? We think so if you plan to spend adequate time at the resort, will use the lounge, and don’t have a ton of dining reservations. We had a club level stay at the Beach Club a few years back where I planned too many fine dining reservations, and I knew better. While I didn’t regret staying at the club-level, I did regret feeling like I had to be so many places throughout the week. We ended up cancelling a few reservations when I realized my mistake. But it was a reminder not to try to do too much.

Hopefully, this review of staying club level at Disney’s Beach Club gave you a complete overview of the experience. We have always thoroughly enjoyed the times we’ve stayed club level and look forward to returning.

What are your thoughts on staying club level at Disney’s Beach Club? Is club level a yay or nay? Do you have any other thoughts, tips, or questions about the Stone Harbor Club?

' src=

Hi, I'm Amber the owner of Resorts Gal . We have stayed at every single Disney Resort Hotel. Our philosophy? We believe you can have an incredible time at the resorts without ever setting foot in a theme park. We visit the resorts and parks regularly and would love for you to follow along!

Very, very stupid question, but are there sugar free syrups for the coffees?

Hi, unfortunately, I don’t remember, sorry.

Thank you so much for all this information. We were thinking about Beach Club / Club Level for our next trip to Disney. Its our favorite too. Super helpful for planning, great tips to guide our decision. Best, S

Welcome, I hope you’ll enjoy your trip!

Wow, great detailed article, exact details on Club Levels is difficult to find. Question on the beer and wine, what time does that service start? I can’t tell if it starts at Light Snacks hour or Hors d’oeuvres and beverages hour.

Thanks! Formally, wine and beer are available during Hors d’oeuvres. However, you can request beer to take to the pool during light snacks.

Were this pictures of food taken in February of 2022? I’m trying to gauge the current offerings of the lounge.

Hi Mary, they were not. But from what I’ve seen so far, they are offering many of the same items.

We have stayed at beach club before, but not club level. Considering it but we have 2 young children – I know Disney is clearly very family orientated, but is the club level a more adult area? Would children, and the chaos they usually bring, be welcome in club?

Oh yes, the club level is very kid-friendly. They usually have a selection of items specifically for children during the evening hours that include items like rolls, apples with caramel dipping sauce, and sometimes chicken nuggets. There is also a children’s corner in the lounge with a television.

Do they have bottled water to take to the room? Diet soda in bottles?

Hi, from my experience they usually have filtered water that you can get in a glass and soda in cans.

Hello: This was very helpful thank you. Do they have laundry facilities on the concierge level?

Thank you. Whenever we’ve stayed club level, I’ve always taken my laundry to the Tidal Pool laundry area or the small one on the first floor. I’m not aware of any laundry areas on the 5th floor.

Do Club level access rooms provide same access ?

Yes, most of the rooms are on the club level floor. But some suites or rooms might be granted club level access. If you were on another floor and had club level access, your MagicBand or Keys to the World card would give you access to the lounge. Guests can’t reach the fifth floor (club level) in the elevator unless they scan their band or card.

Disney Club Level Concierge Services

Club Level at Walt Disney World

Benefits of Club Level        Food       Resort Specific Offerings

Disney Club Level Concierge services at any hotel offer additional services and access to a knowledgeable and attentive staff. Concierge services at Disney Resorts are no exception. Rooms with access to concierge services come at a cost, but it is a luxury with benefits. Concierge-level rooms are offered at all the Disney Deluxe resorts . Disney typically refers to these rooms as “Club Level” rooms to avoid confusion since there is a lobby concierge desk at each Disney resort. Coronado Springs is the only Disney moderate resort that offers a concierge club-level lounge.

The Benefits of Disney Concierge Services

Guests staying in Disney Club Level Concierge rooms have access to the concierge staff to assist with planning before their arrival. The concierge Itinerary Planning Office can help to secure dinner show tickets, arrange dining, and assist with recreation reservations. They can also help with any other pre-arrival arrangements you may want to make. Be sure to mention if you are celebrating a special event—the concierge staff can be full of suggestions and surprises. The staff is also available once guests arrive and can sometimes help obtain even difficult Advanced Dining Reservations on short notice. Guests complete a Personal Itinerary Planner form after booking and return it to the Itinerary Planning Office to assist in making appropriate reservations.

Disney Club Level Concierge rooms usually offer additional amenities including robes to use during your stay, additional toiletries, turn-down services, USA Today newspaper, and more. A refrigerator or coffee maker with coffee and tea assortment is available in each room. Concierge guests are also offered a separate check-in area or procedure at or near the lounge.

One of the largest benefits of staying in a concierge or Club-Level room is secured key card access to the resort’s concierge lounge. The lounge will have a variety of food and drink offerings throughout the day. The offerings and times vary according to the resort, but a brief overview is provided below. Most of the lounges are also a very comfortable spot to relax and include tables with chairs, comfortable couches and chairs, and a large-screen TV with DVD.

Food Offerings

The general Disney Club Level Concierge schedule below is followed by most of the concierge lounges at Disney. Times are approximates and vary according to resort. Of course, this schedule is always subject to change and offerings can vary. Check with the concierge staff for a more details and accurate listing.

  • 6:30 a.m. – Coffee is available
  • 7:00 – 10:30 a.m. Continental Breakfast with juice, coffee, tea, cereals, fruit, breakfast pastries and breads
  • 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Snacks and/or tea with sodas, iced tea, lemonade, coffee, tea, and snack foods like crackers, pretzels, cookies and nuts.
  • 5:00 – 7:00p.m. Hot appetizers, children’s corner, cruidites, cheese tray, beverages, wine, and beer.
  • 8:00 – 10:00 p.m. Desserts and cordials with a selection of cordials and desserts from the resort’s restaurants.
  • All Day (7:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.) Whole fresh fruit and beverages

Resort Specific Club Level Information

Animal kingdom lodge.

There are 55 club-level rooms and 19 suites available. The Animal Kingdom’s Kilimanjaro Club Lounge is located on the 6th floor of the resort. Concierge Rooms are located throughout the resort and there are some Deluxe Villa rooms that have access to concierge services as well.

One of the big draws for concierge guests at the Animal Kingdom Lodge is the access to the Sunrise and Sunset (Wanyama) safaris. There is an extra charge for both of these tours, but they are both very unique and exciting experiences. The Sunrise Safari offers guests a unique and private safari and breakfast at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge . The Wanyama safari gives guests a unique tour of the savannas at the Animal Kingdom Lodge as well as dinner at Jiko , a signature restaurant at the Lodge.

Beach Club and Yacht Club Resort

Beach Club offers 73 club-level rooms and 22 club-level suites. The Yacht Club offers 67 club-level rooms and 22 club-level suites The Beach Club’s Stone Harbor Club and the Yacht Club’s Regatta Club Lounges are located on the 5th floor of the resorts. Also worthwhile to note the rooms at the Beach Club do not all have balconies, if this is something that is important to you remember to request this when making your reservation.

Club Level at Yacht Club

Boardwalk Inn

The Boardwalk Inn offers 37 club-level rooms and 20 club-level suites. Known as the Innkeepers Club, the concierge rooms and lounge are located on the fourth floor of the Boardwalk Inn . Concierge rooms are also located on the fourth floor. The lounge has a nice balcony and is a very comfortable and inviting room. There have been many star sightings in this lounge – probably due to the really nice suites located on the concierge floors.

Boardwalk Inn Club Level

Contemporary

The Contemporary Resort offers a total of 53 club level rooms and 27 club level suites. The Contemporary has two concierge lounges with two different names – the Atrium Club Concierge and the Tower Club Concierge. The Atrium Club concierge lounge and rooms are located on the 12th floor of the resort. Rooms have a view of Bay Lake or the Magic Kingdom. The lounge on the 12th floor also has three balconies that have a view of the Magic Kingdom and the fireworks. The Tower Club concierge is located on the 14th floor and rooms can have a view of Bay Lake or the Magic Kingdom. Both lounges serve the same foods and have the same service and the 12th and the 14th floor of the resorts are only accessible to guests staying on that floor.

Coronado Springs

Coronado Springs is the only moderate resort with a Club Level lounge, called Chronos Club, located in the Gran Destino Tower. Concierge Club Level guests get access to Disney Signature Services, and daily housekeeping service. Secured key access to the Club-Level lounge, serving refreshments between 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily. One of the perks of the Chronos Club,  is the view. Guests can enjoy fireworks views from Hollywood Studios (when applicable).

Grand Floridian

The Grand Floridian offers 156 club-level rooms and 25 club-level suites. The Grand Floridian Resort & Spa has concierge rooms located in the main lodge building and the Sugar Loaf building. Sugar Loaf club level rooms are located in the Sugar Loaf Key building. They offer views of a courtyard, garden, pool, or the Seven Seas Lagoon. The concierge lounge is located on the first floor of the Sugar Loaf building. Royal Palm Club Level rooms are located in main building and the lounge is on the fourth floor of the building. The lounge overlooks the lobby area of the Grand Floridian and you can hear the piano player as well as the band in the evening. One thing to note about the Grand Floridian concierge rooms is that there are many different room configurations, views, and also many different prices. For an additional fee, Grand Floridian club-level guests can request a private pantry (a stocked mini-bar.)

Polynesian Village

The Polynesian Village offers 102 club-level rooms and six club-level suites. Concierge rooms are located in the Hawaii longhouse and suites are located in the Tonga longhouse. There are two types of room ‘views’ in the Hawaii building water view and garden view. If you splurge and get a water-view room at the Polynesian Village , you will have a wonderful view of the castle. The lounge is also located in the Hawaii building, and is called the King Kamehameha Club. It is a wonderful two-floor area with walls of windows so you can enjoy the wonderful view looking over the lake toward the Castle. The lounge is an excellent spot to view the MK fireworks, especially with the dessert and drinks that are typically available at that time. There is a second Club Level lounge in the Tonga building that is available from 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. only. Since it closes earlier, evening food items are not available.

Wilderness Lodge

The Wilderness Lodge offers 67 club-level rooms and eleven club-level suites. Concierge rooms at the Wilderness Lodge have access to the Old Faithful Club concierge lounge. Disney Club Level Concierge rooms and the lounge are located on the 7th floor of the Wilderness Lodge . The lounge area overlooks the lobby-one of the nicest lobbies in all of Walt Disney World. If you enter the lobby and look up to the top of the resort, you may catch a view of the lounge area. Rooms can have a view of the courtyard, woods, or other areas of the resort.

People often ask if Disney Club Level Concierge is ‘worth’ the extra cost.  Concierge services are designed as an extra level of service. They were never designed as a money-saving alternative. Although the food and snacks are nice, they were not designed to replace an entire meal. The biggest draw is the convenience and the extra services. It is hard to put a price on convenience, and even more difficult to put a price on the extra care, services,  and attention provided by the concierge cast members. Guests often stay at the concierge level when looking for extra relaxation, extra pampering, or just that extra something special. It is also a great place to celebrate a special occasion like a birthday or anniversary .

Food & Beverage

The following dining locations are located at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resort

  • Yachtsman Steakhouse- A MickeyBlog favorite, the airy dining room of this Table Service eatery features knotty-pine beams and nautical touches. Menu highlights include grain-fed beef that is aged in house and prepared on an oak-fired grill, 12 oz Prime New York Strip Steak with peppercorn brand sauce, truffle macaroni and cheese and for dessert the Yachtman’s Chocolate Cake.
  • Ale & Compass Restaurant – Drop anchor for Eastern Seaboard eats that the whole crew will love at this Table Service eatery. This seaworthy spot is a comfortable place to relax and refuel before and after a day of adventure. For breakfast we recommend the dark chocolate waffle or  salted caramel-apple French toast.  Lunch options include Lobster and Corn Chowder, Ale and Compass Salad, and the Bacon and Vermont Cheddar Burger. Finally, for dinner, indulge in sumptuous seafood, like sustainable catch of the day or New England seafood pot pie.
  • Ale & Compass Lounge – Stop by this nautical nook for lively libations and savory snacks. Choose from a variety of beers, wines and high-end liquors—as well as cocktails like the Spicy Pomegranate Margarita and the Captain’s Mai Tai.
  • The Market at Ale & Compass- Pop by this quick service spot for a variety of provisions. Available for an additional fee are Snow Crab Legs (per pound) and Whole Lobster.
  • Beaches & Cream – Slide into a beach ball-bedecked booth at this Table Service spot and peruse a menu of fountain favorites, sweet surprises and hot-off-the-grill items. Find yourself in “burger heaven” or try the equally sublime grilled cheese and tomato soup. Chili-cheese tots and onion rings are among the other comfort classics offered. But the main event here is, of course, dessert with showstoppers, like the Snickers Sundae and the No Way José—a delectable creation with ice cream, peanut butter and hot fudge. For the ultimate experience, get a load of the Kitchen Sink: 8 scoops of ice cream smothered in every topping we have.

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort

Sharing is caring!

yacht and beach club concierge level

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is an excellent choice if you want to stay in a luxury hotel which is close to all of the Walt Disney World parks and within easy walking distance of Epcot. The Yacht Club is located on the shores of Crescent Lake next to it’s sister resort Disney Beach Club . Both resorts have a very upscale feel and look. You are taken back to another era of the late 1800s East Coast seaside resorts.

As you would expect from the name, The Yacht Club has a strong nautical theme which is played out in all areas of the hotel.

One of the best features of both resorts is that they share the very best swimming pool of any of the Walt Disney World hotels – Stormalong Bay.

Here is a guide to the Yacht Club Resort Hotel which will give you details on the rooms, restaurants and other facilities available at this fabulous Walt Disney World resort hotel.

What Are the Rooms Like At The Disney Yacht Club Resort?

yacht and beach club concierge level

The Yacht Club has a total of 621 rooms. The standard rooms are an average of 380 square feet. Most have 2 Queen beds and a day bed so they can sleep up to 5 guests. There are also some rooms with King sized beds but as there are only 56 of these rooms you do have to make sure you request them at the time of booking. As with all requests Disney will do their very best but make no guarantees.

All the rooms are nicely decorated in nautical colors of navy blue and white. All of the rooms have either a balcony or a patio. As with many of the Disney World deluxe hotels there is the convenient feature that the double sinks are located outside the bathroom.

Where are the Best Rooms at The Yacht Club Resort Hotel?

yacht and beach club concierge level

Guests in standard rooms have a choice of standard, garden or water view rooms. The standard rooms have a view of either the parking lot or a roof top.

The Garden View rooms are a step up from the standard view and offer nice views over the landscaped areas, the quiet pool and the wedding gazebo.

The most sought after rooms (which are charged at a premium) are the Water View rooms. Note that this does not necessarily mean that you have a view over Crescent Lake, as some of the Water view rooms overlook Stormalong Bay. These rooms overlooking the swimming pool are obviously less desirable than those overlooking Crescent Lake. Be aware that because of the design of the hotel even if you book a Water View you still may not get a full view of Crescent Lake.

Disney Yacht Club Hotel Concierge Rooms

The Yacht Club also has 71 Club Level Concierge rooms and 20 Suites. All of these are located on the 5th level top floor of the hotel.

The Concierge Rooms are almost exactly the same as the standard rooms with a few extra perks. As always with concierge it is a very personal choice as to whether you think these perks are worth it. If you want television speakers in the bathroom, robes and nightly turndown service then concierge rooms offer these.

Of course you also have access to the 5th floor Concierge Lounge with complimentary snacks and beverages. The Concierge staff are very knowledgeable and can help you with making reservations for dining and recreation, and of course answer any questions for you about how to make your Disney stay more magical.

The 20 Suites are also on the 5th floor Concierge Level of the hotel. If your budget will stretch that far then choose from a selection of luxury suites including The Turret Suite, The Commodore Suite or even the most luxurious Captain’s Deck Suite.

Disney Yacht Club Restaurants

If you stay in any of the Epcot hotel resorts you are within very easy reach of many of Disney World’s best restaurants. The Boardwalk and Epcot World Showcase are within walking distance.

The Yacht Club also has it’s own excellent dining options. The Yachtsman Steakhouse is open for dinner and has a great menu of traditional steakhouse food. This is a very popular restaurant and Advance Dining Reservations are recommended.

If you are looking for something a little more casual then opt for breakfast, lunch or dinner at Captain’s Grille . Here you will find the usual favorites for breakfast. The lunch and dinner menus have a good choice of American classic dishes with a particular emphasis on seafood.

There are also 2 lounges in the Yacht Club. The Ale and Compass Lounge, and The Crew’s Cup are great places to sit and relax. If you want some of the best ice creams in Disney World then try Beaches and Cream .

Recreation at Disney’s Yacht Club Hotel

One of the major attractions of the hotel is Stormalong Bay swimming recreation area. This amazing resort pool is shared with The Beach Club Hotel and is widely seen as the very best swimming pool at any of the Walt Disney World resorts.

The pool is huge. Covering an area of 3 acres and with 750,000 gallons of water this is a wonderful water playground for all guests. One of the best features is the ‘lazy river’ feature where all you have to do is float around and relax. You will also find a water slide, water falls, shallow beach entry for paddling, deeper areas for swimming, and of course plenty of lounge chairs for just relaxing around the pool.

If you want something a little less noisy then there is a quiet pool with a hot tub available.

Other activities include The Ship Shape Health Club which is available to Yatch Club resort guests free of charge. An excellent place for jogging is around Crescent Lake. Boat and bicycle rentals are also available.

Another very nice feature here is that you can relax on the sandy beach in front of the Beach Club. There are loungers here and often there are very few people so you can feel as though you have your very own private beach whilst you relax and watch the world go by around Crescent Lake.

Disney Yacht Club Transportation

yacht and beach club concierge level

One of the best features of the Yacht Club is of course the location. You are within easy walking distance of Disney’s Epcot World Showcase entrance. You can also take boat transportation to both Epcot and Disney Hollywood Studios. All of the Boardwalk shopping and dining venues are also just a short stroll away.

Access to the other Disney parks of Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom, Downtown Disney, Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach are by bus transportation.

Disney’s Yacht Club is a great choice for anyone looking for a Disney resort with a great location, excellent rooms and facilities. And of course who can resist Stormalong Bay?

Disney Yacht and Beach Club Resorts

Robin Hutson

June 16, 2023

Why are the Disney Yacht and Beach Club two of the most beloved resorts for Disney regulars? We’ll help you decide if they are the right choice for your Disney vacation.

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort and Disney’s Beach Club Resort are inspired by historic seaside hotels; their nautical theme and beach imagery is everywhere. Joined together and within walking distance to Epcot, they share many amenities, including Disney’s most beloved resort pool, Stormalong Bay.

The Yacht Club and Beach Club both opened in November of 1990. Robert A. M. Stern was the architect for both, as well as, the planner for Celebration, Disney’s nearby planned community. Learn why these are two of the most popular Disney World hotels .

The Yacht Club Ambiance

Disney's Yacht Club Resort and the Disney Beach Club offer easy access to Hollywood studios and Epcot.

The Yacht Club is elegant but offers a very generous application of nautical flags, sailboats, globes, ropes, and navy blue. It looks just like the Nantucket Yacht Club did in the 1980s, and whenever I am in their lobby or in their public spaces, I am stuck on the commercial jingle, “Red Lobster, for the seafood lover in you.”

Disney's Yacht Club Resort and the Disney Beach Club offer easy access to Hollywood studios and Epcot.

The Beach Club Atmosphere

Disney's Yacht Club Resort and the Disney Beach Club offer easy access to Hollywood studios and Epcot.

The Beach Club is lighter and airier in feel, and has, I admit, a fantastic lobby fragrance. Waverly seashell draperies that were everywhere in the 1980s, beach umbrellas, large blue and white chinoiserie planters, and clever sandcastles with hidden Mickeys are the motif.

Let me plan your Disney World vacation . I’ll help you choose where to stay, the best theme parks and rides schedule, and steer you to the right restaurants for your family. I’ll share what VIP experiences are worth every penny and show you what to skip.

Disney's Yacht Club Resort and the Disney Beach Club offer easy access to Hollywood studios and Epcot.

They are both elegant resorts that offer a deluxe feel for Disney World. The Yacht Club was intended to serve convention center guests and business travelers while the Beach Club is the more casual option intended for families, but this is Disney, and families are welcome everywhere.

Disney's Yacht Club Resort and the Disney Beach Club offer easy access to Hollywood studios and Epcot.

Disney Yacht and Beach Club Park Transfers and Location

The Disney Beach and Yacht Club are in the Epcot Resort area of Walt Disney World. They are on a lake facing the Disney Boardwalk and are also neighbors of the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels.

Disney's Yacht Club Resort and the Disney Beach Club offer easy access to Hollywood studios and Epcot.

All of these resorts are on the same boat service that provides transportation by water shuttle to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. Bus transportation is available to all other parks and Disney Springs.

A nice feature, to me, is that Epcot’s “back” entrance is a short walk from the Beach and Yacht Clubs and places guests between France and the United Kingdom pavilions within the wonderful World Showcase. This creates easy access to many of the great restaurants in Epcot while staying at either resort.

Disney's Yacht Club Resort and the Disney Beach Club offer easy access to Epcot.

Like with all Disney resorts, the Magical Express is a free perk providing airport transportation to the hotel. Free parking is available, as well.

Disney Beach Club Rooms

Guest rooms at the Beach Club have been refurbished in the last few years, though they aren’t super exciting. Mother of Peal trim on bed headboards, and sea blue and brown colors dominate the palette as hidden Mickeys adorn decorative pillows.

Most standard rooms are 380 square feet in size and offer two queen beds plus a comfortable twin daybed to sleep a family of four or five easily.

Disney's Yacht Club Resort and the Disney Beach Club offer easy access to Epcot.

Many rooms offer balconies that vary in size and may look out over the pool and water areas, courtyards, or parking lots and roofs. Each room comes with a mini (but still sizable) refrigerator, coffee maker, and safe.

Disney Beach Club Pool: Stormalong Bay

The Yacht and Beach Club are considered to have the best pool on Disney property. The pool area is expansive, but our enjoyment of it has been based on the crowd level. When it wasn’t that crowded on a cooler, cloudy day, we had a ball. But on a hot, sunny day, it’s packed.

Disney's Yacht Club Resort and the Disney Beach Club offer easy access to Epcot.

There are four main areas of the pool complex.

The Stormalong Bay offers a sand bottom pool area that works very well for young children, as the water is shallow in most areas.

There is a lazy river with an artificial current for a bit of floating using tubes and noodles. Compared to other lazy rivers, this one is deep, so children should use flotation devices.

There is a traditional pool at the mouth of the water slide, but the fourth area was our favorite, the pirate ship water slide.

Disney's Yacht Club Resort and the Disney Beach Club offer easy access to Epcot.

A small pool is at the bottom which worked great for our family so that my preschooler played in this pool while my daughter and one of us kept going down the water slide. The slide begins with a dark tunnel that goes over the sidewalk below.

And there’s a large sand beach to enjoy, of course, and hot tubs, too.

Hotel Amenities

yacht and beach club concierge level

The large conference center near the Yacht Club means that there is a larger business presence at that resort than the Beach Club Resort (though the Contemporary , Grand Floridian , and Coronado also do a huge meeting business.)

Ensuring business travelers have what they need, there is a spa, salon, and fitness center on site, as well as, an expanded clothing store should you need to purchase non-Disney clothing.

I was attending a conference and found the weather warmer than I expected and found a nice selection at the Yacht Club’s boutique that aren’t carried at the other resorts. The Grand Floridian has its own clothing boutique for men and women, however, to purchase before enjoying the Food & Wine Festival at Epcot.

The Beach Club offers a Disney World kids club called the Sandcastle Club that accepts children 3 to 12 years of age, though all children must be potty trained. An evening of supervised activities costs $55 per child which includes dinner and a snack. In Disney speak, they are called Children’s Activity Centers.

Disney's Yacht Club Resort and the Disney Beach Club offer easy access to Epcot.

Concierge Level at the Disney Yacht and Beach clubs

Both the Yacht Club and Beach Club, as deluxe Disney Resorts, offer concierge level rooms.

The Concierge Level lounges offer various snacks and hors d’oeuvres throughout the day, but not enough to replace any meal (other than a light breakfast).

Disney's Yacht Club Resort and the Disney Beach Club offer easy access to Epcot.

The club-level guests have access to a concierge who will reach out before arrival to offer advice on dining options or to assist with restaurant reservations and other activities.

DVC Villas at the Beach Club

The Beach Club, but not the Yacht Club, offers Disney Vacation Club villas. These villas are timeshares that are still available for the public to reserve, either through Disney’s website or through a service that allows the public to rent DVC points from owners who book the villa for you.

We have used David’s in the past with great satisfaction and savings. There are two drawbacks to this savings: reservations are non-refundable and “mouse-keeping” is not available. But reservations made through this service still include Magic Bands, Magical Express transportation, etc.

The studio villas will offer a microwave in addition to a mini-fridge (all hotel rooms offer a large mini-fridge and coffee maker), and units with bedrooms offer a full kitchen.

Disney Dining at the Yacht and Beach Club

Beaches & cream.

Beaches & Cream is the most sought after reservation at the Beach and Yacht Clubs. It’s a nostalgic ice cream shop offering casual American diner fare to enjoy before the main event, their desserts.

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort and Disney Beach Club

Sundaes reign here, and they come in all sizes. The child-sized sundae with Oreo Mickey ears is the entry-level dessert. On the other end of the spectrum is the Kitchen Sink, the giant sundae intended to serve a large group. In addition to ice cream, brownies, and whip cream, the staff (each is known as a Cast Member) offer a little fanfare for each table who orders it.

The Cape May Café

Offering breakfast and dinner, this buffet style restaurant at the Beach Club is one of the easier character meals to book. Donald, Goofy, and Minnie make appearances at breakfast in beach attire.

The food is not memorable, but I would still choose this option over a meal at Chef Mickey’s.

Disney's Yacht Club Resort and the Disney Beach Club offer easy access to Hollywood studios and Epcot.

At dinner, Cape May offers a seafood buffet, but we haven’t tried it when the Flying Fish Café (at the Disney Boardwalk) and Blue Zoo (inside the Dolphin hotel) are easy to walk to and offer more of a foodie experience which we prefer.

The view of the Disney Boardwalk from the Yacht Club.

The Solarium at the Beach Club

Disney's Yacht Club Resort and the Disney Beach Club offer easy access to Epcot.

Martin, a lovely English gentleman, shared with great excitement the story of launching the Beach Club afternoon tea with me. He was all laughs and jokes until I asked, “Can I take your picture?” Then he was all British business.

If you book the tea, I hope you are lucky enough for Martin to be your server. He is sure to enhance your tea experience.

Disney's Yacht Club Resort and the Disney Beach Club offer easy access to Epcot.

The Yachtsman Steakhouse is the most formal restaurant at the Beach and Yacht Club, but children are still welcome. The Ale & Compass Restaurant located in the Yacht Club offers comfort food and classic seafood dishes with a lighthouse-inspired decor. Beach Club Marketplace is quick and casual, offering fare such as salads, mac & cheese, and sandwiches, among other options.

Advantages to staying at Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resort

I like the Yacht Club and Beach Club and think they are a great choice because of their on-site ambiance, access by foot to so many restaurants and Epcot, the easy boat ride to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and the expansive pool area.

The cons of the Yacht & Beach Club include the extra time by bus to reach Magic Kingdom (and each of the deluxe resorts are somewhat far from Animal Kingdom except the Lodge, so that doesn’t count). If Magic Kingdom is the focus of your trip, I’d probably choose the Magic Kingdom resorts like the  Grand Floridian or Contemporary .

Additionally, many Disney pools feel very crowded, and this one is especially so in warmer weather. We have loved Stormalong Bay most when it was cloudy or midweek.

For families who plan on visiting every park and have kids old enough to enjoy the pools, it is sure to please. For adults visiting Disney for the Food & Wine or Flower and Garden Festivals, the convenience can’t be beat.

SAVE MONEY: RENT DVC POINTS

There’s a way to save as much as 50% off of a stay if you book at the Beach Club villas. The villas at the Beach Club are part of the Disney Vacation Club, Disney’s version of timeshare units, but it’s still available for the public to reserve. The Yacht Club has no such villas.

Those in the know reserve DVC units by renting points from DVC owners directly or through a service. We have used  David’s Vacation Club Rentals  to save more than 50% off of the rates we would have paid by reserving direct with Disney.

Our experience with  David’s Vacation Club  Rentals was seamless, and at this lower price point, I enthusiastically recommend the villas while staying at the Disney World Resort. Given that the Disney Vacation Club rooms at the resorts are almost always newer and nicer than the hotel rooms, this is the best way to stay deluxe at Disney World while saving money.

David’s works as an intermediary between you and the DVC owner who is selling you points. The owner doesn’t get paid in full until your check-in date, so David’s Vacation Club Rentals works like an escrow account to protect you.  Once booked, you can still add Magical Express reservations or Disney dining plans, and they can walk you through that process.

You can see how much you will save by using David’s  point calculator  on your stay dates and then comparing that cost with booking the villa units directly.

You must pay a refundable deposit for them to query owners for your stay, and they look at the first, second, and third choices which you list. When they have been unable to book me something, they refunded my deposit instantly.

If that happens, you can call to speak to an agent directly who can tell you what is available near your original query, if you want to keep trying. I have always received my deposit refund immediately, and the agents have typically found alternate options for my dates if my first choices weren’t available.

The only drawback to using David’s service is that you will not receive daily housekeeping without a fee, and you must commit to your travel dates.

Disney's Yacht Club Resort and Disney Beach Club are two of the most popular deluxe Disney resorts for very good reasons, and we tell you all of them.

What Is Concierge?

The term concierge actually dates back to the late Middle Ages and was coined by Louis XI. The role of the concierge has evolved over the years and today the goal is to "establish and maintain warm cordial relations with the guests frequenting an establishment" (International Concierge Institute).

Each hotel has its own interpretation of what exactly that means and how it is transformed into a guest experience. At Disney, you are pampered, to varying degrees, by Cast Member services and amenities. When you book concierge , you will be assigned a member of the concierge staff to assist in your vacation planning. The concierge can make priority seatings, obtain tickets for dinner shows and answer your vacation questions. The planner should contact you several weeks before your visit, either by email or telephone. This tends to be very sporadic and not a dependable feature. Your best bet is to contact the hotel's Concierge host directly.

Concierge rooms are usually located on a private floor or wing of the hotel and generally have keyed access. In other words, you wouldn't be able to just wander in on your own. Each concierge club at WDW offers a special lounge for guests. Coffee and continental breakfast is available in the mornings, snacks around the lunch hour, hors d'oeuvres and wine before dinner and dessert and cordials for early evening. The food offerings in the Concierge Lounge will not take the place of a regular meal!

If you have special dietary requests, your concierge can sometimes assist in getting you the item(s) you might need during your stay. Again, this tends to be very very sporadic depending on the resort and even the Cast Members you speak to.

The Disney hotels that offer concierge are now all the Deluxe Resorts (Beach and Yacht Club, Contemporary, Polynesian, Grand Floridian, Wilderness Lodge, Boardwalk and Animal Kingdom Lodge).

Some concierge clubs offer a special treat. For instance, at the Polynesian, the lounge has floor to ceiling windows facing the Magic Kingdom's Cinderella Castle. You can watch the fireworks in the comfort of big soft chairs, sipping coffee or your favorite after-dinner cordial. At the Boardwalk, the balcony provides a view of IllumiNations at Epcot.

Regarding prices:

Concierge rooms can cost $200 more than a standard view room. On occasion, you can find an Annual Passholder discount on concierge rooms, but don't count on it. For the most part, you will be paying full price.

There is one exception to paying cash, and that is for Disney Vacation Club owners. The Animal Kingdom Villas offer a limited number of rooms in the main lodge with concierge service.

As you can see, concierge is definitely not for those traveling on a tight budget, but it makes a wonderful, special treat for those who want something extra, like a special romantic getaway at the WDW resort.

Official Press Release

Concierge Serves up Royal Treatment at Walt Disney World Deluxe Resort Hotels

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. — It was a marriage proposal to remember at Disney's Wilderness Lodge in Walt Disney World Resort.

The groom-to-be spirited away his beloved, and concierge staff members set to work on the couple's suite. There was a rose-petal carpet from the Disney florist, an intimate table with lustrous place settings, a champagne bucket with the finest bubbly and an engagement feast fit for royalty.

When the couple returned, the bride-to-be was charmed, and love reigned with a little help from the Old Faithful Club concierge staff.

Disney guests can get the ultimate resort experience at eight deluxe Walt Disney World hotels: Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, Disney's Beach Club Resort, Disney's BoardWalk, Disney's Contemporary Resort, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney's Polynesian Resort, Disney's Wilderness Lodge and Disney's Yacht Club Resort.

Each concierge club offers a varied menu of special services, from custom itinerary planning to private lounge privileges including complimentary breakfast, wine-and-cheese tasting and dessert-and-cordial hours.

"Whatever the request, we're here to say, 'yes,' " says Wilderness Lodge concierge manager Mark Newman. "We'll do anything within our power to pull strings and make it happen."

Requests honored through the years by concierge guests at all eight resorts include:

Setting the scene for marriage proposals and special anniversaries. Searching local grocery and health-food stores for guests' special dietary needs. Creating complete family vacation itineraries, including VIP and guided tours. Sewing on buttons. Fresh-squeezing grapefruit juice. Shopping for gifts and souvenirs. Rearranging furniture in rooms and suites. Securing electronic cables and special batteries for guests' electronic equipment. Along with the expected top-of-the-line service, each Disney resort concierge prides itself on special offerings:

Kilimanjaro Club at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge offers guests of its 74 club-level rooms and suites the opportunity to book the exclusive Wanyama Safari followed by dinner and wine pairing at the resort's fine-dining restaurant, Jiko-The Cooking Place. Another option is the Sunrise Safari with private breakfast at Disney's Animal Kingdom theme park.

Stone Harbor Club guests at Disney's Beach Club Resort (95 club-level rooms and suites) and Regatta Club guests at Disney's Yacht Club Resort (67 club-level rooms and suites) are privy to concierge lounge menu samplings of braised beef, steamed clams and other sumptuous goodies. Guests can also book the new Albatross Treasure Cruise — a rollicking pirate excursion for kids of all ages.

The Innkeeper's Club at Disney's BoardWalk serves up chocolate-covered strawberries, plus milk and cookies for the kids each night for guests of its 71 concierge accommodations. Its charming cottages and garden suites include two-floor loft-style rooms with private entrances, wet bars and guest spaces.

Guests of the 14th floor Tower Club and the 12th floor Atrium Club at Disney's Contemporary Resort (64 club-level rooms and suites) enjoy some of the best rooms with views on Disney property — Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom and scenic Bay Lake. This very first Walt Disney World hotel opened with Magic Kingdom in 1971 and has hosted several generations of concierge guests who appreciate the short walk to the Magic Kingdom gates.

Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa (181 club-level rooms and suites) wows guests of its Royal Palm Club and Sugar Loaf Club with curbside and in-room check-in, plus a daily tea event in both lounges. The Royal Palm features expanded lounge amenities including a generous sampling of cordial and liqueur choices.

The King Kamehameha Club at Disney's Polynesian Resort (108 club-level rooms and suites) features a two-story lounge with expansive floor-to-ceiling windows for a perfect view of nightly fireworks over Seven Seas Lagoon.

Old Faithful Club Concierge at Disney's Wilderness Lodge features a high cast-to-guest ratio for those staying in one of 50 club-level rooms. The 5-7 p.m. wine-and-cheese gathering includes hot menu items such as salmon pot pie and child-friendly foods from its signature restaurants.

Like all Walt Disney World concierge managers, Chris Ware of Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is accustomed to making celebrities and royalty feel at home during their stay. And that same service is extended to all concierge guests across Disney property.

"There's not really much we can't do as long as we're given time to do it," Ware says.
