The best luxury hotels with private yachts
Torn between a land-based holiday and a superyacht charter ? Then why not combine the two and choose a hotel that has its own yacht. Whether you’re after day charters, water sports, or overnight stays, several luxurious properties have yacht-based offerings for those who want to spend their precious time out on the waves. Discover BOAT International 's selection of luxury hotels with their own yachts for a hotel-charter hybrid...
Bequia Beach Hotel, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines
Nestled in the heart of one of the most picturesque cruising grounds of the Caribbean, guests at the Bequia Beach Hotel can enjoy a stay on board the 34.5-metre Star of the Sea . The classic Benetti yacht offers a true superyacht experience with seven crew on board to ensure the finest service. Her expansive deck spaces, which include a Jacuzzi and multiple al fresco dining areas, are perfect for enjoying the Caribbean sunshine while her stylish interior can accommodate up to 12 guests, and can she can be booked on a per cabin basis on request.
With Bequia as her home port all of St Vincent and the Grenadines are available to explore. Opt for a three-day trip to take in Mustique, home to millionaires including Celine Dion and Mick Jagger, the Tobago Cays National Park and Union Island. During your time on board, you can swim with green turtles, experience world-class snorkelling and enjoy a fresh lobster BBQ on the beach.
Naladhu Private Island, the Maldives
The white sands of Naladhu Private Island spring from a turquoise lagoon in a remote expanse of the Indian Ocean with only two neighboring islands in sight. With just 20 villas, it is one of the Maldives’ most private retreats. As you touch down at Velana International Airport, you’ll be whisked directly from the terminal to the island on the resort’s own Sunseeker . This luxurious vessel, however, isn’t just a mode of transferring guests from the airport – it’s on hand for day charters and trips so that guests can gain the very best marine experiences in the Maldives.
D-Maris Bay, Datça Peninsula, Turkey
Perched on a rocky outcrop opposite the Dodecanese Islands, D-Maris Bay Hotel overlooks the scenic point where the waters of the Aegean and Mediterranean meet. Topping the leagues as one of the most luxurious hotels in Turkey, it’s not surprising that D-Maris Bay is also a superyacht haven, with its own private marina, and specialised yacht guests programme.
There are three luxury yachts available for charter and day tours at the group, including 16-metre motor yacht Alia Opensea. The hotel has plenty of custom itineraries to hand that cover nearby islands and towns on a private tour with your own crew. Guests can choose to charter by the day, or make a trip of it and embark on an overnight adventure.
Thanda Private Island, Tanzania
Cast off the Tanzanian coast, Thanda appears as a perfect teardrop shape, encircled by immaculate white sands and coral reefs. The immaculate private island lies within the Shungimbili Island Marine Reserve and is surrounded by nothing by the shimmering turquoise waters off the African coastline. With no other land in sight, Thanda Island is a thalassophile’s dream and the perfect place to frolic in the ocean, perhaps catching a glimpse of a tiger shark, which reside in these waters.
Few places on earth could offer such a tranquil place to hit the waves and the island has its very own stock of boats that tick every box. For those after a more traditional sailing experience, guests can ride the trade winds on a traditional Arab dhow or opt to charter Thanda’s 34-metre classic motor yacht, Over the Rainbow . If it’s water sports or marine biology you’re after then, the island has several motor yachts that cover all the bases.
Nobu Hotel, Santorini
Composed of charming whitewashed monolithic villas arranged around a spectacular infinity pool that seemingly falls away to the ocean 200 metres below, Nobu is a quiet sanctuary of Santorini on the northeast coast of Imerovigli. The property blends Cycladic style with Nobu’s famed Japanese minimalism, softened with warming accents of ochre, rattan rugs and linen pendant lighting. While the hotel may be far from the water, the property has its own motor yacht that can whisk guests onto the waves for a private sunset excursion away from the masses. To make the experience extra special, guests will set sail with a hamper of classic Nobu dishes, think black cod, rock shrimp tempura and sushi on the waves.
Hotel Union Øye, 62 Nord, Norway
Sitting at the mouth of the sequestered fjord hamlet of Øye on Norway’s west coast, the hotel Union Øye is surrounded by nothing but gargantuan, green-carpeted peaks and plunging waterfalls that echo through the valley as they tumble to the earth. Having first opened its doors in 1891, it’s no wonder that famous writers such as Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, creator of Sherlock Holmes considered Union Øye a greatly inspiring place to reside.
With well-trodden original flagstones, ornate panelled walls and a library stocked with the owner’s personal collection of exploration first editions, Union Øye is an elegant monocular into the past. And with such an affiliation with exploration, it’s only fitting that the hotel group, 62 Nord would have several yachts to entertain guests on the water. Those staying at the hotel can choose to meander the vertiginous fjords on board the Fjord Explorer , with a capacity for 30 guests. From the hotel, guests will spend the day basking in the glory of Hjørundfjord, one of the most extraordinary fjords in all of Norway, deep within the Sunnmøre Alps. But for those after something more adventurous, 62 Nord also offers a bespoke sea safari on board one of its speed boats.
Elounda Peninsula, Crete
With no other hotels in sight, Elounda Peninsula is a quiet sanctuary on the busy island of Crete. Set at the foot of the sun-drenched hills of Agios Nikolaos, the property feels like the only resort on the island, clutched on its own quiet corner of Mirabello Bay. With uninterrupted vistas of the glittering sea, the hotel features striped lawns, ancient carob trees and plumes of bougainvillaea that cling to the Elounda’s craggy walls.
For those who want to explore more of the Cretan shore, Elounda’s 26-metre classic sailing yacht, Eliana KIV , is on hand to whisk guests along the glittering coast and enjoy a lunch anchored in a quiet cove with no one else around. Named after the owner of the hotel the picture-perfect sailing yacht is a Bermuda Yawl, a fast ocean racer and the same model that was owned by Gianni Agnelli. Perfect for gentle sails too, Eliana KIV i s available for day charters or lunches and sundowners on board.
Intercontinental Maldives Maamunagau Resort
Located at the southern end of the picturesque Raa Atoll, the Intercontinental Maldives Maamunagau Resort is up there with the very best Maldivian getaways. While it’s part of the global hospitality brand, the property is from the other resorts around the world and feels like a luxurious independent hotel, with minimal branding, personal touches and sensational service. Hidden along the immaculate white beach is a lagoon and over-water villas, all a gentle stroll from the property’s six waterside restaurants and bars.
The resort's lagoon is a known juvenile manta ray aggregation point, and with the partnership with the resort-based Manta Trust. Diving here in the UNESCO World Heritage Site is among the best in the Maldives, particularly for those who want to swim with manta rays. For other excursions on the water, guests will have the option to step aboard the resort’s Princess motor yacht and cruise out of the lagoon for sundowners in front of the island’s lighthouse.

12 Luxury Hotels with Yachts | Best Sunset Cruises & More
Last updated on Jun 27, 2022
Few things beat a luxury hotel stay in a private area with breathtaking views. But, a luxury hotel with yachts might just take the first spot.
The yacht collections from these opulent hotels and luxury island resorts are just as luxurious as the buildings themselves. Yacht rides and cruises are often included in the all-inclusive hotel experience, but it is definitely worth the splurge even if they aren’t.
Keep reading to find the best luxury all-inclusive private yachts for your next ocean getaway.
Private Charters for Luxury Travelers
These five-star luxury hotels have it all, whether traveling with the whole family or hoping for a romantic luxury experience on a sunset cruise. While they may only accommodate up to six guests a suite, their luxury yachts can usually transport much more.
One & Only Reethi Rah
The One & Only Reethi Rah in the Maldives is on the largest island on the North Malé Atoll. It is also one of the most expensive hotels in the Maldives. Choose between the beach villa, water villa, or one of the grand residences while you’re here. Either one you choose, this little slice of paradise is surrounded by tropical white sand beaches and azure blue waters all around.
The open-plan rooms are modern and incorporate the beachy atmosphere in the design. Your room doors open up to the crisp beach and jungle in your front yard. Bathrooms are equally as breezy and overlook your private beach area. The hotel has everything you need for a relaxing stay, including multiple restaurants, tennis courts, infinity pools, and a spa. Take to the waters with this hotel’s selection of sea vessels. While yachts may be your preference, it doesn’t have to be your only choice. One & Only offers guests a selection of sailing boats, including a catamaran, speedboat, yacht charter fleet, and a luxury yacht.
You can choose the route you want to take around the island and stop for a swim, snorkeling session, dolphin watching, or a chance to soak up the Maldives sun. The itinerary includes a half-day or full-day cruise personalized by the yacht captain themselves. You can customize it to your liking and even add a lesson in the Maldivian art of hand-line fishing.
- Knightsbridge, London
My The Wellesley
The Wellesley gives its guests a blast from the past with its art-deco inspired interior. Despite the homage, this five-star hotel in London’s Knightbridge is very modern and surely is a beautiful sight for sore eyes. The Wellesley overlooks Hyde Park and matches its grandeur with equally as elegant walls and historical past.
From this grandiose hotel, the boat hotel in London, My The Wellesley, originated. The yacht has six en-suite cabins available for two guests each. The Owner’s Suite has panoramic views of the sea on the trip, while the Master Suite has recenty been completely refurbished. This suite covers the whole lower deck and features a walk-in closet. Both suites are excellent choices for a luxurious stay on the sea, but the finest treasures are found outside your suites. On deck, there is a club lounge and two on-site fine dining restaurants. Grab your meal al fresco under the stars or retreat to the club lounge for a cigar in the bespoke humidor.
Outside on the deck is where you’ll find 40 square meters of sunbathing space that includes the splash pool and crash pad. This offers 360 views of the ocean and mountains with loungers all around the gathering spot.
AYANA Komodo Resort
This beach resort on Waecicu Beach in Indonesia is what living on your own private island must feel like. Secluded from the outside world, this resort provides everything you need for an island getaway.
Rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the turquoise ocean ahead. Each room comes with a seating area, private bathroom, and room service. To cool off, why not take a dip in the private beach or outdoor swimming pool. After, you can grab a bite to eat at one of the six international restaurants and bars.
Take a luxury overnight charter and explore The UNESCO-protected Komodo National Park over two to three nights. With nine spacious rooms aboard and 16 hardworking crew members waiting on you hand and foot. You’ll live in absolute luxury while sailing across the Pacific and the Indian Oceans. Each cabin provides world-class comfort with large beds, seating areas, and a private balcony.
The luxury cruise is all-inclusive and provides all meals as well as on- and off-shore activities. Guests staying on the yacht have a chance to go island hopping and visit the surrounding unspoiled islands. They can also go snorkeling, kayaking, and paddleboarding. All daily meals are freshly prepared by the capable hands of the cruise’s personal chef and assistants.
Principe Forte Dei Marmi
Principe Forte dei Marmi is in a coastal town along the Mediterranean sea in Italy, surrounded by other smaller villages. It is an opulent beach hotel that oozes modern luxe just a few steps away from Forte dei Marmi Beach’s private shore.
Each room has a simple yet stylish design with eye-catching decor pieces strategically placed throughout. Suites are airy and have an open plan design with a seating area and marble bathrooms. They are also kitted with modern amenities like wifi, air conditioning, and coffee machines.
One amenity you cannot skip while staying there is getting aboard their 24-meter Mazarine yacht. It may seem small, but this private charter has three cabins with accompanying private bathrooms. It also has a lounge and dining area and can hold up to twelve guests for the hotel’s exhilarating day tours.
You do not want to miss it as you have the opportunity to sunbathe on the upper deck while you are transported away on the Mediterranean. Besides the amazing ocean views, you are also transported to amazing destinations. These places include the colorful and ever-popular seaside villages of Portofino and Cinque Terre, among others.
This is the perfect escape if you’re looking for a deep dive into Italian culture and art.
Huvafen Fushi
Another resort in the North Malé Atoll and one of the best luxury hotels in the Maldives, Huvafen Fushi, is an idyllic island getaway. It epitomizes the Maldivian experience with white sands, turquoise beaches, and thatched bungalows. So, it would only make sense that this resort island with beach and overwater bungalows would have a luxury yacht too.
The hotel incorporates nature into its designs often. The bungalows are snugly tucked away between the lush jungle leaves of this island while the ocean surrounds them. While there is a private beach nearby, you don’t have to go far as bungalows come with a large sun deck and private pools.
Huvafen Fushi is all about comfort and aims to give its guests just that. There are also four restaurants offering a wide variety of local and international cuisines. Additional facilities include the ‘Spa-quarium’ where guests can get relaxing treatments in the underwater treatment rooms. Here, youcan watch the ocean currents and coral reefs through the aquarium windows while sipping champagne.
If you’re hoping for a more above-water experience, a yacht ride is just what you need. The resort’s Silver Surf luxury yacht sees you sailing along with dolphins as they jump in and out of the water as a cheerful hello. If you want something more intimate, the chartered private yacht is available for private hire and can seat up to 12 guests.
The Gritti Palace, a Luxury Collection Hotel
This opulent hotel was once a noble residence in the heart of Venice. It is on the Grand Canal and overlooks Santa Maria Delle Salute Church. This is a great place to see and feel the rich cultural significance Venice has on Italy.
Rooms push you deep into Venetian history and are reminiscent of a romantic Venetian style. Suites are decorated with gold, marble, and richly patterned fabrics. Striking Murano glass chandeliers hang from the ceiling, and century furniture line the floors.
The hotel also has a fine dining restaurant that serves an á la carte Italian menu. Its decor is set up in typical Gritti Place fashion– impressively elegant and over the top. If you’re looking for something lighter, two other popular al fresco restaurants are also on-site. They are open for lunch and dinner, respectively. If you’re hoping for a nightcap, the hotel’s Bar Longhi might be of assistance.
Why not take a leisurely yacht ride to soak up some more Venetian history and sun. This private yacht is great for exploring the surrounding lagoons and nearby towns. The surrounding towns, Treviso and Asolo are popular spots for local poets, musicians, and creatives.
Luxurious Suites for Up to Eight Guests or More
If you’re a big family, booking bespoke voyages for up to six guests might not be enough. These private boats cater for up to eight guests and more.
Six Senses Zighy Bay
The Six Senses is an adventure seeker’s dream hotel. There are plenty of activities, full-day trips, and marine life interactions available here. If this sounds appealing to you, you might enjoy this mountainous resort or the shore.
The rooms are modern with a rustic feel. Expect rock walls and floors and exposed wood beams towering over you. There are also little divisions between rooms as they flow into each other, like the outdoor bathroom that moves onto the terrace area. This allows you uninterrupted views of Oman’s mountains as you soak your troubles away in the tub.
Suites and villas are decked out in Arabian extravagance with copper bathtubs, gigantic infinity pools, and wine cellars. The Private Reserve, the most expensive villa at the resort, has elevator access with a private chef in the full-service kitchen as well as an indoor cinema.
A few cruises are available at the resort, including a sunset cruise, dhow cruise , and a yacht charter. If you’re a hands-on person, take the yacht charter package as you can learn how to sail the Lagoon 450 yourself.
The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort
The Marriot’s St. Regis hotel is a five-star resort on a private secluded island. It has the ocean and sand on one end and the lush jungle on the other. To take advantage of the beautiful waters, the resort has set up various water sports activities for their guests upon request. These include windsurfing, snorkeling, and diving in the Indian Ocean.
Resort rooms are expansive and can house up to ten guests in a villa. These villas allow lots of natural light to stream in through the big windows and doors. They also have a private terrace, pools, and walk-in closets. The marble bathrooms feature rainforest showers and bath tubs in addition to the complimentary toiletries and bathrobes.
The resort’s luxury yacht, The Norma, is available for private hire to their guests. There are a few packages available, whether it’s a family excursion, a date, or just afternoon tea.
Take the ‘Family Traditions’ package if you have little ones with you. On this boat trip, you’ll see dolphins swimming along before stopping at a private island. The marine life is very active here and offers a great opportunity for snorkeling. A light lunch and babysitting service is also included.
If you’re hoping for a romantic trip, take the sunset cruise packages. These include champagne and tasty canapes served under the moonlight and stars. These cruises run from between 6-8 pm. The last package is the afternoon tea set which accommodates two to six guests. On this cruise, you’ll receive loose tea, gourmet canapes, and soft jazz music for a calming atmosphere.
Cary Arms & Spa
The Cary Arms Hotel & Spa in the United Kingdom offers a sweet escape to the seaside resort town of Torquay. The town offers family fun on its sandy beaches set against the colorful house and 10th-century monastery on the mountain.
Cary Arms & Spa is in the heart of the town and offers world-class service to its guests. Rooms are clean and no-fuss, with a select few having sea views and a balcony. The hotel’s suites have a mini kitchen and fireplace your dog will love snuggling up in front of.
If you’re a bigger family, you’ll appreciate the big open spaces of the cottages more. Here, you have an entire bungalow to yourself, equipped with a kitchen, dining table, and fireplace. For leisure, there is bike riding and fishing available. There’s also a sauna, steam rooms, and spa facilities on-site.
The Devon Coast is ready to be explored through Cary Arms’ luxury sailing yacht. Choose between a two-hour to a full-day sailing excursion with refreshments. Overnight sailing is possible with this luxe yacht with inclusive breakfast and lunch. Dinner comes at an additional fee.
Pangkour Laut Resort
The Pangkour Laut Resort is set in The Straits of Malacca in Malaysia. This strait acts as the shortest shipping route between the Indian Ocean and the East. Thus, the waters flow between Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore. This flow creates a warm water temperature on the beach, allowing an excellent swim no matter what time of the year you visit.
Even if the waters were chilly, you wouldn’t need to worry as the luxe hotel has two outdoor swimming pools overlooking the garden and sea. The two-person villas are ideal for honeymooners and have oversea balconies. They are quaint suites set against the mountain or in the waters.
The estate rooms are best suited if you have a bigger family of up to six people and more. These rooms have their own private infinity pools on the jungle hilltops. Rooms come with personal chefs and a butler to ensure a restful stay. These also have resting pavilions and indoor and outdoor jacuzzis.
Honeymooners will love the luxury yacht package available to them. The hotel has two luxury charter yachts used to explore Malacca and the surrounding islands. While on the cruise, you’ll see Malaysia show off her green jungles and blue waters against the unspoiled landscapes of The Straits.
Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui
The Four Seasons resort is a well-known Luxury Koh Samui hotel with many outdoor activities. But, many people might not know that it also has tours to Angthong Marine National Park on its own private yachts. This breathtaking resort is a great family vacation or honeymoon destination.
The resort is about a 30-minute drive from Koh Samui Airport on a secluded private beach. Here you are engulfed by the white sand beaches and swaying palm trees. Unwind in the beach infinity pool or the hotel wellness center with a massage or yoga class. There is also a fitness center on-site that offers fitness classes and a personal trainer.
Your private villa has a thatched roof and a free layout. Rooms are simple with neutral colors and wood furnishings to let the jungle and beachfront take center stage. The en-suite bathrooms have a spa bath, bidet, and complimentary toiletries and robes. Floor-to-ceiling doors and windows allow the hot Thai sun to stream in and brighten the room.
If you’re craving a little more sun and sea, these luxury yacht cruises are for you. There are two private boats available for eight to 12 guests. However, only the eight guest boat, The Minor Affair, allows overnight stays.

These Luxury Hotels Have Their Own In-house Yachts
Don't forget to pack your nautical ascot.
Get a little more from your next seaside getaway by booking a luxury hotel with the ultimate swanky amenity: an in-house yacht .
Seriously, why just gawk at the ocean views when you can be whisked away for an immersive, open-water experience instead? From Thailand to Turks and Caicos, Marbella to the Maldives, these opulent hotels offer charters on private yachts for hourly, daily, and multiday itineraries, with excursion options that only add to the dreamy experience.
7Pines Resort, Ibiza
Ibiza may be best-known for its parties, but it can also be a prime place for relaxation, as exhibited by 7Pines Resort , where nature and luxury define your stay. This cliffside property over the Mediterranean Sea provides guests with sweeping views and a further opportunity to be among the vista in one of its Pershing Yachts. The Pershing 5X and Pershing 9X combine futuristic elements courtesy of the Ferretti Group and Fulvio de Simoni, ensuring aerodynamic, incredibly smooth sailing. One of the most popular charters runs to Formentera Island, considered Ibiza's little sister, where guests can enjoy a sleepier, coastal atmosphere, with lunch at a beachside restaurant.
InterContinental Hayman Island, Australia
A trip to the Whitsundays puts you in the middle of the Great Barrier Reef — a natural wonder stretching over 1,400 miles. Therefore, a yachting adventure is not just recommended but inherently mandatory. At InterContinental Hayman Island — the Whitsundays' northernmost inhabited island — a range of private vessels from 50- to 100-feet, await to bring you even farther out to sea. Yachts like the Ocean Affinity run excursions to the region's most popular attractions, including diving the Great Barrier Reef, a leisure day anchored along the powdery white shore of Whitehaven Beach, or a sunset cruise with Champagne and hors d'oeuvres.
The Ritz-Carlton, Turks & Caicos
There's something about the luxury of a hotel brunch that's indescribable. The Ritz-Carlton, Turks & Caicos elevates that feeling by offering Sunday brunch cruises aboard its sailing catamaran, Lady Grace . Named after the hotel's location along Grace Bay — known for shallow, warm, aquamarine waters — the 64-foot catamaran glides through the waters gently enough to not disrupt your eggs Benedict. Lady Grace is also available for bespoke tours and activities from reef snorkeling, sunset cruises, gourmet picnics, and visits to deserted beaches.
Anantara Layan Phuket Resort, Thailand
In the Andaman Sea, the Anantara Layan Phuket Resort provides access to the dozens of islands found here with its 36-foot Sunseeker 90 Yacht, Major Affair. Running private trips for up to eight passengers, Major Affair offers a variety of unique packages, from a day anchored at Phi Phi Island, to snorkeling around the Similan Islands, to a visit to Phang Nga Bay, where the 1974 James Bond Movie, "The Man with the Golden Gun," was filmed — or simply a day lounging on the sundeck as you putt through a landscape punctuated by mountainous limestone karst.
Marbella Club Hotel, Golf Resort & Spa, Spain
Along the Costa del Sol of Spain, Marbella Club Hotel, Golf Resort & Spa offers not one but two sailing yachts for guests to charter. Lacruz and Revolution are a hybrid of luxury and sport, featuring contemporary amenities like a spacious outdoor shower, guest cabins, and a large solarium. There are also paddle boards and surfboards, among other water sports accessories for exploring the Mediterranean, on board. Daily experiences on both luxury vessels are powered by the wind, allowing a serene sail against the backdrop of the Sierra Blanca Mountains, Gibraltar rock, and even the African coastline on the horizon.
Waldorf Astoria Maldives, Ithaafushi
Over-water villas are a renowned stationary way to experience the Maldives' vast marine life, but for a more immersive opportunity, Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi offers its 56-foot yacht. Available for day charters, experiences range from cruising to private beaches for a day of relaxation, coral conservation activities, diving with manta rays, and private sunset charters where guests can sip Champagne as the fiery sun melts into the atolls.
Pangkor Laut Resort, Malaysia
Pangkor Laut Resort offers unparalleled views and access to the Straits of Malacca on this privately owned island of Malaysia. Its in-house yacht, YTL Lady II , can be chartered for custom itineraries throughout the year, but perhaps its most famed offering is The Straits to Luxury Experience, a five-day, four-night charter that cruises guests from the Pangkor Laut property to Phuket. Only available from December to May, the 85-foot boat is staffed with a private hostess and a chef.
D-Hotel Maris, Turkey
The Datça Peninsula is recognizable as the place where the Aegean Sea meets the Mediterranean. D-Hotel Maris honors this by providing guests with three yachts to charter to experience the aquatic destination to its fullest. The 53-foot Alia Open Sea motor yacht offers speed for day outings, as does the 55-foot Azimut , while the 100-foot wooden sailing yacht, Ubi Bene , is suited for a relaxing sail to sights like the Blue Lagoon and the Sunken City of Kekova. Aquatic sports like kayak tours, wakeboarding, and diving are also available, so building a personalized open-water itinerary is encouraged.
Rosewood Baha Mar, Bahamas
Stationed along the fine-sand beaches of the Bahamas' New Providence Island, Baha Mar encompasses three hotels: SLS Baha Mar , Rosewood Baha Mar , and Grand Hyatt Baha Mar . With a total of 2,300 rooms, a multitude of restaurants, bars, and lounges, as well as pools and beachfront, there's certainly no shortage of activity on land, but the at-sea experiences on offer are unmatched. Guests at any of the properties can choose from two luxury yachts available for private charter: the 213-foot super yacht, Eternity I , ideal for larger groups and longer excursions (including multiday trips around the islands), and the 65-foot Eternity II , which typically runs leisure day trips that include diving, fishing, and cruising around the Bahamian waters.
Canaves Oia, Santorini
A collection of five hotels throughout Oia, Santorini, Canaves Oia is a family-owned brand offering something for everyone, including yachting getaways. The brand's fleet of yachts includes three luxury vessels that are exclusively accessible for guests staying at any of the properties on Santorini, from its newest property Canaves Oia Epitome to its founding hotel, Canaves Oia Boutique Hotel. Various journeys include tours to the Santorini volcano, snorkeling at the red beach, or wading in the azure waters of the white beach, as well as planning for experiences on board, like romantic proposals surrounded by the Aegean sea and private parties. Once the guest decides on their activity, all they need to choose is the yacht: 73-foot Alexandros , 55-foot My Way , or 43-foot Pardo .

British law student, 19, who fell from hotel sixth-floor balcony in Ibiza pictured
Share this with
A law student who fell to her death from a hotel balcony in Ibiza has been pictured.
Emma Ramsay, 19, fell from the sixth floor of Hotel Vibra District, an adults-only four-star hotel in San Antonio at around 3am on Tuesday.
The former head girl from Hamilton, South Lanarkshire, was filmed partying with friends hours before the incident.
She had been studying law at Strathclyde University, and tributes have been paid to the ‘incredibly kind’ and ‘hardworking’ student.
Lorna Lawson, Headteacher at St John Ogilvie High School told the Daily Record : ‘We are shocked and saddened at the heartbreaking news of the sudden passing of our former Head Girl, Emma Ramsay.
‘Emma was an incredibly kind, hardworking, bright and talented pupil who contributed a great deal to our school community.
‘Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends during this incredibly difficult time. Emma will be missed and will forever hold a special place in our school.’
Emma’s friend Paris Mcgoldrick wrote online: ‘I don’t even know where to begin with how perfect our Emma was. I loved everything about you and I forever will. Heaven just gained the most beautiful angel they will ever get and I’m forever grateful to call you my friend.
‘I will forever cherish the moments we shared together, Em. I love you forever my girl, you will never be forgotten.’
The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office said: ‘We are supporting the family of a British woman who has died in Spain and are in contact with the local authorities.’
The Spanish civil guard are investigating the death, and an autopsy has not yet taken place.
A spokesman for the force said: ‘I can confirm a 19-year-old British tourist has died following a fall at a hotel in San Antonio in Ibiza.’
A well-placed police source added: ‘Everything is pointing to this being a tragic accidental fall.’

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry took in the sights and sounds of Colombia.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped out in South America on Aug. 15, kicking off a four-day trip at the invitation of Colombian Vice President Francia Márquez. Márquez announced on Aug. 1 that Prince Harry, 39, and Meghan, 43, "kindly accepted my invitation to visit our beautiful country" and would visit the cities of Bogotá, Cartagena and Cali.
"In these vibrant locations, they will have the exceptional opportunity to engage with leaders, youth, and women who embody the aspirations and voices of Colombians committed to progress. In addition to these meaningful interactions, the Duke and Duchess will experience the rich heritage of Colombia," Márquez said.
The vice president added that the visit would happen before the inaugural Global Ministerial Conference on Ending Violence Against Children in Colombia in November, noting that one of the summit's aims of making the online world a safer place aligns with the same tenet of Prince Harry and Meghan's charitable Archwell Foundation.
The Colombia trip is focused on key aspects of the Archwell Foundation's core work, plus some of Harry and Meghan's longtime causes like the military community and female empowerment.

Welcome to Colombia
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were welcomed to Colombia by Vice President Márquez and her husband, Rafael Yerney Pinillo, on Aug. 15. The couples convened at the vice president's residence for coffee, tea and traditional pan de bono (Colombian cheese bread) and exchanged welcome gifts.
During the meeting, Márquez told Prince Harry and Meghan that she shared their vision for championing a safer digital future and mental health landscape. The vice president also shared her admiration for Prince Harry's late mother, Princess Diana , according to Harper’s Bazaar .

No chatting in the hallway…unless Prince Harry and Meghan are visiting! The Duke and Duchess of Sussex then headed to Colegio Cultura Popular , a charter school in Bogotá, with Márquez and Pinillo.
They participated in an Insight Session with pupils, where some of the young people opened up about how social media impacts them both positively and negatively. Meghan praised the students as "impressive, smart and savvy," while Harry asked about how they manage social media and digital literacy at home with their families.

Highlighting a key theme of their trip to Colombia, Prince Harry and Meghan took the stage at Universidad EAN for a summit on a Responsible Digital Future, hosted by the Archewell Foundation in partnership with the vice president's office and Luminate. The couple stressed the urgency of prioritizing humanity and connection in today's digital landscape.
"With the Archewell Foundation, me and my wife believe that information integrity is a fundamental right," Prince Harry said in part.
Added Meghan, "We should model how we want our kids to be raised and for the world in which we raise them." The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are parents to son Prince Archie , 5, and daughter Princess Lilibet , 3.

Kindergarten Catch-Up
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex popped into a kindergarten class, where they worked on puzzles and practiced their Spanish-language skills. Prince Harry asked students their names and ages, and Meghan brought up their son, Prince Archie.
"You’re the same age as my son, Archie!" she told a student in Spanish.
Meghan also wore some sentimental jewelry to the school — butterfly earrings that previously belonged to Princess Diana .
Working Lunch

Prince Harry and Meghan then moved to a private lunch hosted by Vice President Márquez, Harper's Bazaar reported.
"The intimate gathering was attended by esteemed guests including government officials and leaders of international organization and cultural sectors all across the country," the outlet said. It added that the gathering "was meant to provide a platform for meaningful dialogue to discuss critical global issues at hand, including creating safer environments for children around the world."
According to Harper's Bazaar , Prince Harry and Meghan both delivered brief remarks, with the Duchess of Sussex sharing hers entirely in Spanish. After graduating from Northwestern University, Meghan honed her Spanish language skills during an internship with the U.S. Embassy in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and while studying abroad in Madrid, Spain.
Getting Physical
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex met with members of Colombia's Invictus Games team at the Centro de Rehabilitación Inclusiva for a training session. Prince Harry and Meghan toured the swimming pool, rock climbing wall gym and rehabilitation areas, before hearing about the athletes' favorite workout routines and how they stay strong.
Harry hopped in to join a volleyball match with Pinillo towards the end of the visit, while Meghan and Márquez cheered them on.
Proud Patron
The Duke of Sussex, a former captain in the British Army, launched the Invictus Games as an international adaptive sports tournament for wounded, injured and sick service personnel and veterans in 2014. Colombia became the first South American nation to send a delegation to the sixth edition of the competition in Düsseldorf, Germany, in September 2023.
Feeling the Beat
In Cartagena on Aug. 17, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex visited Escuela Tambores de Cabildo, a local drum school working to preserve the art form of traditional African drumming.
Founder Rafael Ramos said, "I love seeing Meghan’s big, big smile. I can tell she’s excited!"
Historic Tour
Meghan and Prince Harry continued the third day of their trip in San Basilio de Palenque , which was established as the first free African town in the Americas in 1619.
The couple greeted everyone both in Spanish and in the town’s indigenous language of Palenquero. Meghan expressed she was "so honored" to visit San Basilio de Palenque, noting the community’s “incredible history," while Harry described it as an "incredibly moving experience."
Empowering Women

During the panel, Meghan walked to the side of the stage so she could adjust a fan to face the panelists .
Colombian Vice President Francia Márquez, who was on stage with Meghan, started applauding and the other panelists laughed as they realized what she was doing.
As she returned to her seat, Meghan said in Spanish, "Women helping women."

A Gentleman In Moscow Ending Explained
- Count Rostov finds family, love, and purpose in his confinement at the Metropol Hotel, despite his initial imprisonment.
- The ending of A Gentleman in Moscow remains ambiguous, leaving Alexander's fate open to interpretation.
- Love and sacrifice are the central themes of the show, as Alexander risks everything to ensure the safety and happiness of his found family.
The ending of A Gentleman in Moscow brings with it the conclusion of Alexander Rostov's story, with his 35-year stretch of imprisonment inside Moscow's Metropol Hotel coming to a halt. After returning home from Paris in 1918 to save his grandmother from the violence of Russia's Bolshevik revolution , Count Rostov is sentenced to life imprisonment for his status as a member of the nation's ruling class. However, instead of being locked in a prison cell, Ewan McGregor's character is confined to the walls of a luxury hotel in the nation's capital.
Alexander is spared execution, unlike so many of his other social peers. The reason for the leniency is Alexander being incorrectly credited with a poem titled "Where is our Purpose Now?" The literary work, actually written in 1913 by Alexander's old friend, Mishka, was partially credited as inciting the Revolution. The count manages to carve out some level of existence for himself at the Metropol , with the novelty of his situation quickly wearing off. Along the way, Alexander Rostov finds the family he'd never had before, giving a man who'd lost everything something else to lose.
A Gentleman In Moscow Cast & Character Guide
The Paramount/Showtime limited series A Gentleman in Moscow is led by Golden Globe and Emmy winner Ewan McGregor and his wife Mary Elizabeth Winstead.
What Happens To Alexander Rostov After He Leaves The Metropol Hotel Explained
The post-escape fate of mcgregor's character is unknown.
At the end of A Gentleman in Moscow episode 8, "Adieu," Alexander dons his hat and strolls through the doors of the Metropol Hotel. After all the phones in the building ring at once as Richard Vanderwhile's signal that Sofia is safe, Alexander can depart while knowing his surrogate daughter is in trusted hands. While Alexander is shown successfully leaving the building , the other side of the door isn't shown, so it's impossible to confirm what happens to the Count after this scene. Even the show's narrator, an older Sofia, confirms that she never knew what her father did next.
"I discovered that Papa had escaped the hotel, but what happened after remains a mystery. I like to imagine [Alexander and Anna] finally free, living out the rest of their lives together. They gave me the greatest gift of life. I'll keep them in my heart. Always. "
The sequence that's shown of Alexander's reunion with Anna in "Adieu" is shot in the same 4:3 aspect ratio as A Gentleman in Moscow 's flashbacks sequences, which were often from Count Rostov's point of view. However, as Sofia confirms that she never saw her parents again , this particular scene can't be a memory. Instead, what's being shown is Sofia's imaginings, dreaming of the two people who risked so much to save her enjoying a well-deserved, peaceful life.
Alexander does still have his stolen Finnish passport when he leaves the hotel, so it is possible he was able to flee the country and reunite with Anna.
The black apples shown during this scene are another sign that it's nothing more than Sofia's fantasy . Earlier in the same episode, Alexander tells the Metropol staff of an old legend from when he was growing up. The story tells of a tree hidden deep in the woods, bearing " Apples as black as coal ." If a person found and ate the apples, they would have the chance to live their life anew. Alexander immediately adds that he wouldn't eat the apples if he were to find them today, as despite his tumultuous life, it's a journey he doesn't regret.
Alexander is never shown telling Sofia this same story, but the presence of the black apples in the story's closing sequence suggests that he did share the tale with her at some point.
How & Why Sofia Flees Russia At The End Of A Gentleman In Moscow
Sofia's one-way trip to america took careful planning.
Despite being a staunch patriot, Alexander is still of the opinion that Sofia would have a better life in America than she would if she were to stay in Russia. Thankfully, Alexander's spying on the country's top brass in A Gentleman in Moscow episode 7 , "An Assembly," also presents an opportunity for McGregor's character to send his daughter to safety. The scheme is carried out in collaboration with Alexander's American ally , Richard Vanderwhile, who plans the operation for them.
Only Sofia is granted asylum by the Americans, with Alexander telling his daughter that the request for himself and Anna to receive the same treatment was simply too much to ask.
With the recordings from the meeting in her possession, Sofia heads to Paris as part of a musical tour. After performing, she cuts her hair short and changes her clothes to blend in with the crowd and leaves without being spotted. The powers that be grow wise to her scheme, as they move her performance slot from before the interval to the penultimate position in the running order. Thankfully, Sofia still has just enough time and barely manages to avoid being detected. After arriving at the American embassy in Paris, Vanderwhile arranges for Sofia to be flown to the USA .
Where Alexander Rostov Stands With Osip Glebnikov At The End Of A Gentleman In Moscow
Alexander & osip exchange declarations of friendship.
Alexander's relationship with Osip Glebnikov is intentionally unclear throughout A Gentleman in Moscow . Although Osip is essentially responsible for making sure Alexander doesn't break the terms of his sentence by leaving the Metropol, Alexander's jailer chooses to spend more time with his prisoner than is necessary for him to perform his duties. They engage in etiquette lessons, debates about literature, and even start to watch movies together. However, it mostly seems as though Osip is forcing the interactions to take place. Despite the ambiguity of their arrangement, Osip admits in the finale that he values their relationship .
Ewan McGregor's Historical Drama Weirdly Copies His 2022 Star Wars Show
The story of Ewan McGregor's Alexander Rostov from A Gentleman in Moscow shares some strong parallels to that of the actor's Star Wars character.
While warning McGregor's character of the danger Sofia is in - and by extension, Alexander himself - Osip says, " I like you, Alexander. I think of you as a friend ." The count replies in his signature guarded style: " As do I you, in a manner of speaking ." Osip may not have been the most valued figure to Alexander in his day-to-day life, but their friendship offered both men a different perspective.
In addition, Osip also assisted Alexander return to the Metropol undetected following Sofia's trip to the hospital - an act that could have had both characters severely punished, if not killed.
Osip is also instrumental in making sure Anna departs for Finland without Alexander. By the time of "Adieu," Osip's wife and daughter are dead. So, Osip wants to make sure Alexander's family doesn't suffer the same fate.
Did Alexander Leave Manager Leplevsky To Die?
Alexander finally takes the revenge he's been trying to avoid.
Leplevsky is the biggest villain throughout the story of A Gentleman in Moscow , with Alexander's life at the Metropol Hotel becoming more difficult as his nemesis rises through the ranks. With Alexander's planned departure from the hotel imminent, it initially seems as though he's willing to let bygones be bygones and spare Leplevsky any acts of revenge. Unfortunately for the hotel manager, his last-minute discovery of Alexander's plan to escape results in McGregor needing to take action .
After arming himself with the dueling pistols from the manager's office, Alexander chains up Leplevsky in the bowels of the Metropol Hotel.
After arming himself with the dueling pistols from the manager's office, Alexander chains up Leplevsky in the bowels of the Metropol Hotel. At the same time, he incinerates the files the manager had been collating about the hotel's staff - Alexander and Sofia included. Leplevsky begs to be set free as Alexander departs , with the exchange between the two adversaries suggesting it would be a while before anyone finds the trapped hotel boss. So, while Alexander doesn't directly murder Manager Leplevsky, he could still be responsible for his death.
How Alexander's Imprisonment In The Metropol Hotel Was The Beginning Of His Life (Not The End)
Alexander rostov's personal life somehow flourished at the metropol.
When Alexander was sentenced to life imprisonment, he was in his early thirties. His only surviving family member was his grandmother, whom he had helped escape the country four years previously. In addition, he was estranged from Mishka - his oldest friend. Alexander had never married, nor fathered any children. Despite his life of wealth and privilege that had preceded his incarceration, he was deeply alone. Somewhat surprisingly, Alexander's decades trapped in the Metropol led to some of the most important relationships in his life .
Despite the early trauma of seeing Prince Nikolai being dragged out of the hotel to be shot in the street in A Gentleman in Moscow episode 1 , Alexander went on to hit a rich vein of social bonds. His friendship with Nina was vital during the early stages of his sentence, and although the pair struggled to stay on the same political wavelengths at times, their special relationship weathered the storm. Alexander also eventually managed to build bridges with Mishka .
Eventually, Alexander's on-and-off romantic dynamic with Anna Urbanova solidified into a solid foundation of love and trust, with the pair essentially becoming joint parents to Sofia.
If Alexander was a father figure to Nina, then he was essentially a grandfather in his role as generational caretaker when Sofia was left in the count's care. Alexander raised Sofia as his own , while making sure she never forgot her birth mother. Eventually, Alexander's on-and-off romantic dynamic with Anna Urbanova solidified into a solid foundation of love and trust, with the pair essentially becoming joint parents to Sofia. As a result, Alexander hit several milestones during his imprisonment that he either neglected or failed to achieve while he was a free man.
The Real Meaning Of A Gentleman In Moscow's Ending
Alexander's unconfirmed destiny compounds the story of love and loss.
A Gentleman in Moscow , like so many other stories, is about love. However, the show's theme of love is also tied into the concept of loss, and how the two interact with one another. The love that Alexander Rostov has for Anna and Sofia results in him putting their safety first , ensuring they are away from the Metropol Hotel and safely on their respective ways to their new homes at the time of him making his escape attempt.
The Deeper Meaning Behind A Gentleman In Moscow Episode 3's Bees
Alexander Rostov's journey in A Gentleman in Moscow has been full of twists and turns, but the bees in episode 3 serve as a brilliant metaphor.
Alexander is fully aware of the risks to himself, Anna, and Sofia that their plan presents. Still, the love he has for his found family makes him willing to put himself in harm's way if it means there's a chance of a better tomorrow for the daughter he cherishes and the woman he loves. Osip acts in a similar vein by helping Alexander. Despite losing his wife and daughter, Osip chooses not to let his grief turn him bitter and instead makes sure Alexander doesn't suffer the same heartbreak.
Sofia's fantasy of her parents living out their days together is about as perfect an ending as the show can expect, with the unconfirmed nature of the scenario contributing to the dark beauty of the story's conclusion.
Sofia's fantasy of her parents living out their days together is about as perfect an ending as the show can expect , with the unconfirmed nature of the scenario contributing to the dark beauty of the story's conclusion. The trio would never have had the life they'd wanted in the building that brought the three of them together. Knowing this, they give their best effort to free themselves of the restrictions imposed upon them by Alexander's prison sentence. A Gentleman in Moscow 's final episode perfectly encapsulates the tale's message of sacrifice in the name of love.
How A Gentleman In Moscow's Ending Was Received
The final episode was praised by fans but some critized the sentimentality of the ending.
A Gentleman in Moscow's ending was one that could lead to somewhat of a mixed response among audiences. It was a bittersweet conclusion that saw a lot of triumphs and happy moments, but perhaps not the perfect conclusion for these characters that a lot of viewers had been hoping for throughout the 8 episodes. However, many fans on Reddit expressed satisfaction with the ending which they felt was in keeping with the feeling of the show. The ending also inspired theories about what the final moment with Alexander and Anna on a farm meant with Redditor jcapser suggesting:
With Sofias narration over the ending scene I think it could be a depiction of her imagination of how they ended up.
The overall response among fans was positive with the final episode earning the highest rating for the series on IMDb . However, there were some fans who felt the ending let down the rest of the series. User Limeginger left a review in which they praised the series' earlier episodes but felt that the show eventually became overcome with sentimentality, leading to a disappointing ending:
"It's that it began with great dignity, subtlety, and import and turned into a mediocre soap opera."
Indeed, some critics also felt that the series' sentimental aspects were too strong by the end of the story, hampering aspects of the finale. In a look at the final episode, The Daily Beast admitted that there were some emotionally affecting moments, such as Alexander and Sofia saying goodbye. However, they also described the finale as "saccharine" and felt that the final scene only works to " end the show on such a lackluster note ."
