Boat Test: 2024 Stingray 23 OSX

  • By John Tiger
  • September 1, 2024

Stingray 23 OSX running fast

It’s no longer common for boatbuilders to offer a fast single-engine outboard sportboat, let alone one available as both a bowrider and a cuddy cabin. Kudos to Stingray and its 23 OSX/OSC models,  which deliver a rippin’ fun ride up to a two-way average tested top speed of 68 mph.

Stingray 23 OSX helm

I went out solo and saw 71 on the GPS. I believe that some propeller and jack-plate tweaking might net 75. The  5.4 seconds time to 30 mph is on par with most high-performance hulls. With a 56-gallon fuel tank and 5 mpg at 38 mph, you can run all weekend.

Stingray’s patented “Z-Plane” hull adds speed and stability, and is easy to drive. According to design engineer Drew Gantt, the design is optimized for today’s heavier outboard engines. The entire boat is CAD-designed. A composite hull and deck means there’s no wood to rot. The transom is foam-cored and infused with resin. Everything is bonded, not just bedded. Warranty is lifetime on the hull and one year on all else.

Stingray 23 OSX bow seating

Interior and Accessories

In the bow, two wide lounges face forward. The seating is plush and detailed, in a white-and-deep-gray vinyl combo that looks crisp. Folding armrests, stainless-steel grab rails, and cup holders are plentiful. Between the bow seats, I noted a built-in cooler and a very cool anchor locker with a convenient slide-out anchor holder.

At the helm, everything but the Garmin 743 display is standard, including digital switching and Yamaha digital engine monitor, Yamaha electric power-assist steering, and a Fusion sound system with six speakers. The cockpit is self-bailing—a huge safety and convenience advantage. The deep, plush bucket seats provided stability and security at higher speeds. Just behind, two longitudinal lounge seats blend into and around a full-width stern bench seat.

Under the stern seat, there’s quick access to the battery switch, dual batteries and bilge.  Finished overboard-draining storage lives underneath both stern seats, and a huge, gelcoated compartment stows bulk items such as safety gear and water toys. A wide swim platform offers a built-in cooler and a boarding ladder under a hatch.

It’s so refreshing to see “fast ’glass” again.

How We Tested

  • Engine: Yamaha F300 outboard
  • Drive/Prop: Outboard/Yamaha Pro Series 14 1/2″ x 23″ 3-blade stainless steel
  • Gear Ratio: 1.75:1 Fuel Load: 45 gal. Crew Weight: 450 lb.

High Points

  • A super-innovative roto-molded anchor-storage rack slides out and captures the anchor so that it doesn’t scratch up the locker and make a mess.
  • Hinged seat cushions stay in the up position, giving you storage access with no need to hold the seat up.
  • Z-Plane hull design never fails to impress.
  • The only charge ports are at the helm.
  • Some might wish for an amp to power the speakers. Stingray leaves that to the buyer, theorizing that those wanting an upgraded sound system usually want their own choices.

Toughest Competitor

True high-performance outboard bowriders are few and far between. Checkmate’s 2400 BRX ($135,000 with a Mercury Racing R300) compares closely to Stingray’s 23 OSX. The Checkmate measures 24 feet by 8 feet, 3 inches, weighs 2,200 pounds (boat only), holds 60 gallons of fuel, and sports 22 degrees of transom deadrise. During my recent test, it hit 67 mph.

Boat Review: X-Yachts’ Xp-55

  • By Cruising World Staff
  • Updated: April 25, 2019

Xp 55

There are two clear schools of thought when it comes to getting from here to there. For some, it’s all about the journey, preferably made on a seakindly vessel that can stoutly shoulder its way through anything Mother Nature might toss in the way. The happy and rested crew measures progress not by miles per day, but by number of books read, videos watched and sunsets savored.

And then there are the crews that want to get there. Fast. Among the many choices they have is a whole line of good-looking, contemporary performance cruisers from the Danish builder X-Yachts .

Last fall, the company brought a pair of new offerings to the U.S. Sailboat show in Annapolis, Maryland — their flagship rocket-yacht, the Xp 55, and a smaller but equally impressive sistership, the X49 — where they made quite an elegant splash tied up along the outermost row of docks. In fact, the X49 had a most impressive stateside arrival, as it was ultimately named our Best Full-Size Cruiser for 2019 in our annual Boat of the Year contest . More about that boat in a moment.

But first, let’s take a close look at the Xp 55, which was first launched in 2013; in 2017, the boat’s exterior was restyled and a new interior was introduced. It was the updated model that made its debut in North America.

OK, right up front, let me admit to having a thing for X-Yachts. Across the ranges, including the “Xc” series of straight-on cruising boats and this “Xp” line of high-performance racer/cruisers, the workmanship and building materials are top notch, the various designs are both eye-catching and quite practical. There are good sea berths for the crew underway. Counters have fiddles. Handholds abound. Hardware is well-placed. Sail control lines are led so that trimmers or the singlehanded skipper can reach them.

Like its siblings, the Xp 55 is the product of X-Yachts’ in-house design team under the direction of Niels Jeppesen. The hull is foam cored and vacuum-infused using epoxy resin, with carbon-fiber reinforcements in high-load areas. For the Xp line, the builder has replaced a steel grid system with a similarly strong but lighter carbon-fiber and epoxy structure to absorb rig and engine loads.

Notes CW ‘s Boat of the Year judge Tim Murphy , “They’re really making efforts to get the weight out of this boat.” The result is a very sporty displacement-to-length ratio of 143. Meanwhile, the builder opted for a cast-iron foil with a lead bulb down deep where pounds benefit rather than hinder performance. Three keels are available: deep (10-foot-6-inch), standard (9-foot-4-inch) and shallow (8-foot-2-inch).

The Xp55 comes with a couple of rig options, both with standard rod rigging. An aluminum mast and boom are also standard, but the boat we saw in Annapolis sported a carbon-fiber spar and boom with in-boom furling. Those, along with a few other options, brought the sticker price of the boat to $1.4 million, up from a base price of about $870,000. Among the add-ons were teak side decks and cabin top; a carbon-fiber bowsprit and anchor roller; North 3Di racing sails; bow and stern thrusters and B&G electronics. With stays anchored on the sheer line, the wide deck and low-profile coach roof were easy to navigate noted BOTY judge Alvah Simon. He cited positive safety features, including the design of the companionway, easily handled weatherboard and a bridge deck height of 7 inches to prevent down flooding. Visibility from the twin wheels was good, he thought, though the seats at either wheel were somewhat low.

Under way, the cockpit forward of the twin helms was open and roomy for lounging guests or a working crew. At anchor, a teak table that’s stored in the cockpit sole could be raised for entertaining. A pair of adequately sized Harken Performance winches were located well within reach of either helm. The skipper could also quickly adjust jib-sheet leads using the line-controlled cars on the fairlead tracks mounted inboard by the cabin sides. At the bow, a belowdecks Harken furler kept the pointy end clutter free; its drum could be easily reached by opening the hatch of the deep chain locker.

Down below, the accommodations were quite spacious. Rich teak furniture and a teak-and-holly sole — both standard — glowed in the natural light that poured in through overhead hatches, ports in the cabin top and windows in the hull. A Nordic oak and walnut sole interior is also available.

The boat we visited had the standard layout: twin aft cabins and an en suite owners’ cabin with an island queen berth far forward, behind a watertight bulkhead. To port, amidships in the saloon, a U-shaped couch outboard and an upholstered bench on the centerline surrounded a large folding teak table; a long settee (and good sea berth) was opposite. At the foot of the companionway, a large and well-equipped L-shaped galley was to port. To starboard sat a sizable head and stall shower, with a full-size nav station just forward of it.

The 55 comes with a large dinghy locker across the stern, closed off by an electrically operated swim platform. Because of the location of the garage, the double-ended mainsheet is anchored to a single block just forward of the helms. Under sail in 12 knot breeze and with little chop, the boat seemed a bit tender when hard on the wind, and there was a fair amount of weather helm that couldn’t be easily reduced by adjusting a traveler. Also, a new set of racing sails had just been bent on and a sailmaker was aboard and still playing with tuning. Still, the boat showed its get-up-and-go. Closehauled, the speed over the ground was 8.1 knots; cracked off to a reach (and with the strain on the wheel lessened considerably) the speedo jumped to 8.6 knots, a joyous thing.

For the sailor who enjoys immediate rewards for pulling on this and easing off that, the Xp55 delivers in spades. And fast sailing is fun sailing, no?

A big fast cruiser that has everything you need to sail in comfort and style

The new Xp 55 from X-Yachts has far more features than I can describe given my word limit. I guess it would be a cliché to say “they have thought of everything” but it seems that is the case. With its 56-foot 6-inch LOA,  this new boat from the X-Yachts factory design team is a big, fast cruising boat that would make a very comfortable PHRF racer. As is typical with the X-Yachts line, I find the styling impeccable with one caveat that I’ll explain later.

xp 55 sailboat

The  D/L of this design is 142.7 putting it on the lighter side of medium. The L/B is 3.52 putting it smack in the middle for beamyness. There is a single, high-aspect-ratio rudder and three draft options: 8 feet 2 inches, 9 feet 5 inches and 10 feet 6 inches. I sort of chuckle when I think about the “shoal-draft” version drawing more than 8 feet. I don’t have a set of hull lines or any drawings that give any definition to the hull form. The interior plan view shows me the beam is carried aft but everyone does that today. No question it’s a sexy looking hull with gentle curvature to the rocker and enough overhang aft to keep the wake clean. Given the overall success of the X-Yacht series I see no reason this should not be a very fast boat.

There are two layouts to choose from, the “standard” and the “optional.” Those guys in marketing are so clever with their names. The main difference is that the standard layout has two heads and the optional layout has three heads.

The forward stateroom accommodations are different also. You can have a centerline double with owner’s head aft or you can have a Pullman-style double aft and the head forward. I’d go for the two-head model with owner’s double on centerline. But if you were chartering it might be nice for each stateroom to have its own head. I would guess that the factory would be happy to do double berths for you in the quarter cabins. As drawn now they are single berths. Everything else in the layout is just perfect. I did notice on the photos of the interior that the big galley fiddles are quite low. I would prefer them higher. Not much else to complain about in this interior.

The Xp 55 comes with either a carbon rig or an alloy rig. For me it would have to be the carbon spar. I do not have any rig dimensions but I’d guess we are looking at a SA/D in the 26 range. They list the displacement as “light displacement” whatever that is. I prefer the actual “boat as used displacement.” It’s a fractional, three-spreader rig with moderate sweep to the spreaders. You have options on how you want to fit out the stem. You can have the short sprit with or without an anchor roller. You can have no sprit and a cover fairing with or without anchor roller. Like I said, the company has thought of everything.

xp 55 sailboat

This is an amazing boat but there is one thing I don’t like. Don’t laugh. They design and build this incredible boat and then they go and stop the bootstripe short of the transom. What’s with that? Saving money on paint? I think not. If I were buying an Xp 55 I’d demand a full bootstripe. I’m sure the factory would say, “What color?”

The all-new X-Yachts XP-55

  • October 8th, 2017
  • Sailing Yacht

There is no way for a sailor´s eye not to identify an X-Yacht at an instant: The sleek lines, low freeboards and flush decks are unmistakably Danish. So are the three genteel yet chary stripes at the waterpass and of course the tall and efficient rig of these boats. Even in a crowded scene like the Croisette-facing jetty at Cannes Yachting Festival it was a matter of seconds for my subconsciousness to identify the clean, slender lines of the XP-55. What a beauty!

xp 55 sailboat

The open transom was wide and inviting and after talking to the staff of the X-Yachts boots at Cannes I was very pleased to see Flemming Ancher again who instantly asked me to enter the boat and took his precious time to proudly show me the latest X in the fleet. The XP-55 is not an all-new boat as she had her world premiere at Boot boat show in Düsseldorf early this year but as I didn´t had any time to take a look at her I was very pleased in seeing the yacht here in Cannes . “Come on in”, Flemming invited me as I passed aboard over the large Teak-made gangboard.

xp 55 sailboat

Flemming Ancher is Sales Director of X-Yachts and himself a skilful and enthusiastic sailor. He lives the X-Yacht philosophy to the bone and talking to him is always a special pleasure as he gets as excited about the products his company makes as one can be. I first met him in Haderslev last year when he showed me around at the X-Yachts headquarters (read the article here ) and since then we remained to hold contact as I am – you bet it! – also a great fan of these Danish made performance yachts.

The XP-55 is a sailing beast

Now, the XP-55 is again far away from being a “no frills”-yacht in the sense of my own definition of a yacht which I myself could be sailing. She might be among the smaller vessels moored here in Cannes but still with some 17.23 meters length over all this is of course a yacht for a very skilled and larger crew, not necessarily a boat for the single or double handed cruising guy like me. But we are at Cannes Yachting Festival and there are hardly any yachts to be found here for the “normal” sailor – the 55 foot X-Yacht is among the smaller craft of the Cannes fleet …

xp 55 sailboat

As X-Yachts is renown for, the XP-55 is a true racer-cruiser as her name “XP” indicates. XP stands for “Performance” and with all XP-yachts from Denmark there are some features standard here on these boats which mark the claim of these yachts to be potential regatta winners: Carbon mast, deep lead bulb T-performance keel, full carbon structural cage in the hull, rod rigging, fully hydraulic backstay (and other parts) control system, performance sails and much more. She is destined to go fast, that´s for sure. As we stand in the large cockpit I instantly notice the extremely reduced and tidy deck: There are no lines visible up until they re-enter daylight after running aback in the GRP-structure of the hull´s lid. Running through large clamps the lines could be run through the four main winches, as the X-Yacht XP-55 bears a rather classic cockpit layout, which I fancy at an instant.

xp 55 sailboat

The winches are h-u-g-e! As Flemming says: “All on board our boats is made with an extra margin. We tend to oversize certain things to give the sailor the best possible performance. We know that our yachts are races frequently and therefore you need to have the best equipment – as for the huge winches for example.” All winches are electric of course and can be reached fast by the sailor from behind the wheels at an instant. In this sense, the XP-55 may be operated single handed for sure or by two skilled people. Yet, I think this beasty fast boat really needs a proper crew to spring to full life.

xp 55 sailboat

The XP-55 also bears a big hydraulic system for fastening and loosening the backstays. “This system also operates the vang and the outhaul”, Flemming explains and shows the principal functions to me: It´s easy as ABC. “This is the reason why we don´t have a traveller anymore on this boat as this is all done by the rodkicker worked by the hydraulic system here.” I guess hardcore racing people would still like to have their beloved traveller mounted directly under the main sheet for fine tuning – I also find the lone idley pulley mounted there on the cockpit flooring instead looks a bit … puny. But That´s modern times now I guess – and therefore the cockpit area is basically free of anything. A large space to be utilized. “Let´ts get down below under”, Flemming insists to show me the interior design of the boat.

The Interior: X-DNA at its best

An X-Yacht just cannot be mistaken for another boat. It´s just impossible. The Danish company has it´s own unique style of designing their internals that you could set me blindfolded in any saloon you wish and I would instantly recognize the X upon making me see again: X-Yachts aren´t voluminous boats (that´s because of their superior upwind sailing capabilities) and tend to bear classic saloon layouts, as does the XP-55. A sofa group with a wide stool to port side facing a large dining table, vis-à-vis a large 3-seater sofa which I guess would be my favourite sleeping place as I personally prefer to rest near the cockpit.

xp 55 sailboat

Lines are straight and modern. Danish design at its best, timeless yet appealing, friendly and welcoming. There´s still much space for owners to implement their own style by utilizing the large areas on the bulkheads for decorations or stuff. Everything has it´s place here, no waste of space or material – the X again is very practical and everything makes sense. In this sense, the XP-55 may be a “no frills”-boat as I cannot spot a single thing which might me cause smiling and think “oh come on, you´re serious?!” Trying out the cushion on the sofas I find it very comfortable, can imagine being on board sailing for days … but seeing this nice interior I just can´t imagine the hollering and extreme tension of a serious race. Up outside on deck she´s a racing beast – down here below she makes an impression of a cozy, very comfortable and slightly luxurious cruiser.

xp 55 sailboat

Despite the ugly black fans (installed by the owner of this particular boat and not a standard on the boat upon delivery) I just loved the clean Scandinavian design . Everything is here on purpose. Just look at this galley: Large enough to being able to provide meals for a hungry bunch of saltwater-beaten racing guys yet narrow and tight enough to wedge oneself into it when sea is rough. The working benches are huge, not to mention freezing and cooling units, two large sinks and lots of stowage capacity for utensils and provisions. Facing the galley on the starboard side: The Nav station.

xp 55 sailboat

I judge a boat on it´s nav station as I would call myself a classic sailor: I do paper charting regularly , I do paper log books and I love to sit at the chart table to think through next steps, discuss options and find solutions. A classic proper nav station with a large enough chart table, with a main switch panel and electronic devices like VHF well within reach and with enough stowage for things is a definitive must for me on a sailing yacht – I just can´t stand modern day cruisers with those teeny-weeny chart teapoys cramped in a far away edge of the saloon “easily convertible” into some multifunctional crap. The XP-55, as all boats of this brand, offers such a classic nav station and by trying it out I judge it more than suiting.

“Give me the best timber available!”

Brushed Oak is a huge trend in yacht interior design since one or two years now. You rather seldom see any classic Mahogany interiors, let say, the conservative approach to “dark” saloons is vanishing as people want bright and light material making the “down below” a light suffused space. The X-Yacht is no exception here. Flemming points out that X-Yachts did something special in this respect: “We were searching all of the Scandinavian suppliers when we started this project. We said: Give me the best and most high-quality timber you can offer! And this is the outcome – best Oak available!” Of course, X-Yachts also offers the classic Teak fittings for the internals, but this cools and bright Oak-design does have its advantage, especially when the boat is sailing in hot areas.

xp 55 sailboat

I also notice some details which really surprise me. Like the grad handles: They are made of massive Oak fittings carved out of solid blocks of timer. Very rigid and sturdy, these handles are all over the place to provide a safe grip for the sailor´s hands even in rough seas. Best thing is, these handles aren´t noticeable in the first place in a way that they do not disfigure the tidy design of the saloon. It´s a detail like those handles that really excites me: Somebody really must have thought the whole boat through. What a difference to so many large production boats which barely offer such things.

xp 55 sailboat

“Look at this metal fitting”, Flemming points to another detail: “This just not only looks so cool and elegant by design, it´s also a very practical way of securing a drawer.” The fitting is essentially a push-button-solution pressing down a pin and giving way for the drawer. “But there´s more to it: Imagine how many times such a fitting will be used – with every closing of the drawer, the pin will be pushed down, the spring will be utilized … so there´s a lot of strain on the material and over time this strain sums up to probably a million times of opening and closing. So, plastic is not the material of choice here. It may be cheaper to produce – and there a loads of these fittings in the boats! – but they will eventually fail.” Flemming explains that X-Yachts took a plastic fitting to suppliers until they found a company which now makes these fittings especially for X-Yachts: “We manufacture these fittings completely made of metal.”, says proud Flemming: “They will last indefinitely.”

xp 55 sailboat

I also particularly loved another very nice detail of this boat: The stairs of the entryway down to the saloon. Bent full-wooden stairs, very elegant, very rigid. It is this infatuation with details which I love most about X-Yachts. If you go through this boat and even by looking behind panels, deep into cabinets and around corners you may find small but nice solutions. An X-Yacht is definitely not a Beta-Live version of a product which will be made proper by the feedback of it´s early users like so many modern products are, here, real sailors with a sailing background and lots of experience have thought through anything and came up with nice and durable solutions.

xp 55 sailboat

I just took a brief look into the cabins as I know by experience that X-Yacht´s cabins are more than sufficient. As you may know, I am not a friend of large island beds as I consider them impractical to potentially unsafe in tough conditions but on a yacht this size an island bed in the master´s cabin is a necessity I guess. Yes, there are much bigger cabins on the market with much more and bigger porthole windows – but there are few faster yachts out there offering this level of comfort and luxury.

An X-Yacht to the bone

Of course, the X is an X to the bone and although sitting at the mooring and not able to show what she´s got Flemming doesn´t let me cast any doubts that the new XP-55 is a pure performer: By removing one of the floor plates the boat offers a sight on the massive steel frame (also available in rigid Carbon) and the oversized keel bolts: “You see, we recently had a case where an XP-44 was hitting a rock a full speed”, Flemming tells a story: “The boat was roaring by at some 10 to 11 knots. The bulb hit the rock violently with full force. And guess what? The boat had no damage whatsoever.”

xp 55 sailboat

Flemming insists that there is nothing as important in making a hull than making it stiff: “A boat must be as stiff as it can be, you see? Because, if there is the slightest torsion, warpage or wobbling of the hull this has an immediate effect on its performance. So we strive to fabricate real stiff and rigid hulls.” I know that X-Yachts invests a lot in this topic – each and every hull is baked in a huge oven for several days to achieve a rigid hull, as Flemming showed me back in Denmark . We re-enter the deck and I walk forward. The gangboard is really wide and there are no obstacles in the way.

xp 55 sailboat

As usual I admire the sleek rod rigging which is also a standard feature on the XP-series. This boat is covered with a nicely done Teak deck even on the coach roof. All seams are spotless and the overall finish of the boat is marvellous. I love the solid handrails which are also standard on the an X-Yacht and a must have for the offshore sailor – it´s a shame that a lot of production boats do not bear these simple safety-related features.

xp 55 sailboat

Speaking of the nice Teak deck, standing right at the bow, it´s the “fish”, or the middle Teak batten, that is nicely done. You see such classy woodwork even with expensive Teak decks very seldom nowadays as many manufacturers try to cut down costs by having an easy job. I think, if one invests in a Teak deck, one should go for the classic design. What I also like about the XP-55 is the flush deck with all hatches sunk evenly into the deck surface. Also here the Teak deck is done with a proper coaming – and as one fellow reader of my magazine pointed in the comment section out some time ago, I will check the drainage of standing water in the flush hatches when the next chance is offered.

xp 55 sailboat

All in all, I am again excited about the X-Yacht. It´s always a pleasure to board one of the Haderslev-made yachts and it´s even a greater pleasure to sail these boats. This XP-55 might be some sizes too big for me but I am looking again so much forward to my upcoming sailing class for the German Offshore Certificate ( SSS ) which will take place aboard an older X 442, but the main thing is, a racing horse will always stay a racing horse and I can´t expect the day when I´ll get the chance to sail one of the latest models. Thanks Flemming again for showing me around!

Full Details

The Xp 55 deck layout has been designed for ease of sail handling and manoeuvres whether cruising or racing. Standard features include a below deck furling drum (with furling line led back to one of the four cockpit winches). The longitudinal genoa tracks are supplied with adjustable genoa cars. All halyards and control lines are concealed below deck and led aft to the four large self-tailing winches supplied as standard.

The mainsheet is attached to a single pad-eye at the cockpit floor and lead aft via the mast/halyard channels below deck, where it may be easily handled using the cockpit winches. For racing purposes, a windward tweaker block system can be deployed for both genoa sheets as well as the mainsheet to enable very narrow sheeting angles.

Innovative Bowsprit

The Xp models were conceived as true dual-purpose yachts. The guiding principle is that the Xp 55 should be highly competitive when sailed with a full crew and also easily handled by a couple or family. It should be optimised for racing under major handicap rating systems, but equally suited to a relaxed weekend cruise or a longer blue-water passage.

Key to this adaptability is the multi-functional bowsprit, which offers four variations. The standard fixture is a GRP cowl with integrated anchor fitting. This allows for asymmetric ‘Code’ sails and similar to be flown from a fixed tack point, whilst ensuring the steel anchor roller with electric windlass are easily accessible.

The Xp 55 features three spacious cabins, a generous galley, a choice of double or triple heads, and two owners' cabin layouts.

The elegant Xp 55 interior includes new optional brushed oak wood furniture with walnut floorboards and new fixtures and fittings throughout. Teak furniture with teak and holly floorboards is standard.

To port the saloon features a large U-shaped sofa with ample seating for up to eight people, a table with central bottle storage, an upholstered central seat, and a long, comfortable sofa to starboard.

The freeboard on both port and starboard accommodates deep shelves with custom-designed stainless steel book brackets, and hull portlights. Spacious storage cupboards are fitted adjoining the moulded deck liner, while finishing interior touches include Ocean Air blinds and screens.

Interior Layout Options

Standard Layout

The Xp 55 interior features a three cabin layout which benefits from exemplary use of light and generosity of space whilst providing ample accommodation for friends, family or crew. Ample natural light from the flush-mounted hatches and opening portlights creates a welcoming interior throughout.

The Xp 55 is offered with twin showers as standard for superb convenience, with one shower in the master heads forward and a second spacious shower with seat in the aft starboard heads, accessible from the main cabin. There are two saloon options – the standard twin heads arrangement creating an extra-spacious galley.

The owners’ suite features a central double berth with generous headroom on all sides, an ensuite heads to port, and wardrobe to starboard.

Alternative Layout

The Xp 55 can be offered with an optional three heads arrangement, which retains a generous galley and saloon area while also incorporating an additional third heads ensuite to the port aft cabin.

The owners’ suite features a generous double berth to port, comfortable seating and storage to starboard, and en suite master heads forward. This arrangement also allows ease of access via the heads to the forepeak sail locker.
