The Lapworth 24 is equipped with a fin keel. A boat with a fin keel is more manoeuvrable but has less directional stability than a similar boat with a full keel. The keel is made of lead. I thought Robin Graham sailed 3/4 way in a Lapworth 24, then the rest in a 33 foot Allied Luders. I see you are correct- Also known as Lapworth Gladiator 24. From what I understand the Lapworth was falling apart and by the time he go to the Carribean he replaced it with the Allied. I actually saw the Lapworth 24 "Dove" in St Martin back in 1981.
