Samadhi the stunning 61m Feadship superyacht

Samadhi the stunning 61m Feadship superyacht was built in 2006. She was initially named April Fool but was renamed Samadhi in 2013. The yacht is currently listed for sale with an asking price of €42.5 million – a bargain price for anyone looking for a superb luxury yacht with this sort of spare change!

Samadhi the stunning 61m Feadship superyacht is powered by twin Caterpillar 3516B DITA engines, which give her a top speed of 16 knots and a cruising speed of 13 knots. She has a range of 5,000 nautical miles, so she can easily explore far-flung oceans for owners with great wanderlust and a taste for adventure.

Precision Design Input

De Voogt designed the exterior of the yacht. The yacht features a sleek and modern design, with a large sundeck and a spacious beach club. De Voogt Naval Architects is a Dutch firm with a long history of designing yachts.

Motor Yacht

Originally named April Fool - after being launched on the titular day - this 60.96 metre (200’) custom motor yacht was built by the respected Dutch yacht builders at Feadship. Renamed Samadhi, this modern yacht with flowing lines and a distinctive character was drawn by De Voogt Naval Architects and found her way to the water in 2006.

This superyacht was built for experienced owners, with an emphasis on comfort, noise and vibration as well as incorporating separate TV and dressing rooms on the main deck in addition to a dedicated stateroom. The main lounge has virtually full-length windows, and double doors leading out to the aft deck, making for a very open feel as well as unparalleled views.

With an interior style by Janet Leroy, Samadhi underwent a refit in 2009 and emerged with the highest levels of maintenance, across both exterior and interior. Her exterior spaces offer al fresco dining, while the 8 guests on board can bathe on the sundeck or relax under awning before heading inside to the myriad saloons and dining areas to be looked after by a staff of 18 yacht crew.

The 60m/200ft motor yacht SAMADHI is now open for charter and will be available in the Caribbean this winter after appearing at the Antigua Charter Yacht Show .

Unrivalled Feadship craftsmanship, ample outdoor areas and an extensive line-up of leisure facilities make SAMADHI a fine addition to the charter market and suitable for a variety of charter parties.

After hitting the water in 2006, she was met with much acclaim from the industry and was even a winner at the 2007 World Superyacht Awards. She has since undergone a refit and is perfectly primed to begin her winter charter season in the Caribbean .  

Offering the ultimate in outdoor living is the expansive sundeck. In the forward section, guests can unwind in the spa pool, lounge on sun pads, sip cocktails at the bar and enjoy a casual lunch, all while taking in gorgeous views of dreamy white-sand beaches and glittering turquoise waters.

Built into the radar arch is an enclosed gym with a skylight to offer an enviable place to work out and, aft, there is an al fresco dining option for 12 guests and a choice of seating areas.

The upper deck aft also offers a large outdoor dining setup for the utmost flexibility with the main deck aft home to an al fresco lounge. From here, the swim platform can be easily accessed for those who want to take a refreshing dip in the ocean or try out the yacht’s collection of water toys.

The interior of luxury yacht SAMADHI is also devoted to entertainment. The spacious main salon is centred on a sociable seating area and up to 14 guests can be seated in the formal dining salon forward. A main lobby with an elevator divides the two guest areas.

An L-shaped sofa, a bar and a games table make the skylounge suitable for more relaxed gatherings. But running across the entire interior are full-length windows and styling that exudes a casual elegance to immediately put all guests at ease on their yacht charter .  

The styling continues into the six cabins, including a full-beam master suite with his and her dressing rooms and a private TV room, and four cabins on the lower deck. Up to 12 guests can sleep on board the motor yacht during a charter vacation.

Want to Charter in Northern Europe?

Northern Europe is not a destination that pops up very often in charter-yacht promotions. Most of the superyachts that accept charter inquiries in that part of the world base in the West and East Mediterranean, offering itineraries that focus on the beaches and high life all along the French and Italian rivieras, the Croatian coastline and the Greek Isles.

The owner and crew aboard the 200-foot Feadship Samadhi have a plan to do things differently. Through the yacht’s management company, Edmiston, charter availability for this summer was just announced for bookings in Northern Europe, starting toward the end of July.

Why toward the end of July? Because right now, Samadhi is in the shipyard for a substantial refit that’s expected to be completed by that time. This yacht, which launched in 2006, is going to come out of the yard with a 13-foot-long heated swimming pool on the main deck aft, a wholly refitted sky lounge with more creature comforts for guests, and a private spa with a sauna, cold plunge pool, massage room and hair salon. (That sauna sounds perfect for colder-climate charters in certain parts of Northern Europe.)

And, those guest areas will be in addition to existing spaces such as the sundeck, which has a gymnasium, a bar, loungers, a raised hot tub and a barbecue. Guests also have access to two tenders for watersports fun, along with Seabobs, personal watercraft, Fliteboards, foiling boards, wakeboards, standup paddleboards, kayaks, inflatables, and snorkeling and diving gear.

Accommodations aboard Samadhi are for 12 guests in six staterooms, one of which has bunks that are ideal for the kids, a nanny or staff. All of the guest staterooms are belowdecks, while the master stateroom is forward on the main deck with a shower and a tub, a sauna, a walk-in closet and a private office.

Samadhi charters with 16 crew who have experience in expeditions and wildlife charters, making them a good match for lots of locations around Northern Europe.

The refit work is being done back at the original shipyard, Feadship, which is located in Holland. It’s expected to be completed on July 12, after which Samadhi will reposition to London ahead of offering charters in broader Northern Europe.

What’s the lowest weekly base rate for a charter aboard Samadhi ? It’s about $416,500, with fluctuations depending on the exchange rate between the US dollar and the euro. The high-season charter rate is about $466,000.

Her interiors are elegantly refined and welcoming, with complete refit by Remi Tessier in 2014. The main deck features a generous salon aft, with separate formal dining just forward. A foyer leads past the main entrance on the starboard side, where a day head is available, followed by a private audio and visual room that continues into the exceptional master stateroom. The master cabins feature a full beam layout, two walk-in wardrobes, full beam en-suite with tub and sauna, vanity and study desk. Her upper deck has a spacious sky lounge with ample seating, tables and wet bar, perfect for entertaining. Additional guest accommodation is on the lower deck, with three cabins offering king size beds one of which has convertible twin beds. An optional nanny bunk cabin is available on the lower deck within the guest's area.

SAMADHI Specifications

The exterior living is laid over three spacious decks. On the main deck, adjacent to the salon, wide sliding doors give direct access to the aft deck and alfresco dining. The aft deck is shaded and leads down to the extended swim platform and water toys activity area. On her upper deck is a further alfresco dining table. The sundeck is well-appointed, boasting another alfresco dining area and ample seating aft. Centered is a gym. Forward of the gym are sunpads, seating, cocktail bar and deluxe Jacuzzi tub. All decks are accessed by both stairs and an elevator.

The yacht is powered by 2 x CAT 2000hp engines with speeds of 13 to 16 knots. A state of the art stabilization system ensures optimum comfort at sea and anchor.

Accommodation is in 5 cabins, for 10 guests, with an optional nanny room. The master stateroom is full beam of the yacht forward, with a king size bed, his and hers wardrobes, full beam en-suite with large tub, dual sinks and sauna. On the lower deck are 4 cabins, each with private en-suite facilities. 3 of the cabins offer king size beds and one has a convertible twin to double bed.
