Montauk Yacht Club has undergone an extensive multi-million dollar revamp, bringing a brand new dining concept and standout amenities to the beloved seaside marina and resort. Re-opened in June under the management of Proper Hospitality, as part of The Collective, a portfolio of independent, design-driven hotels, the property blends Montauk’s classic charm with modern luxury.  

At the heart of this rejuvenation is Ocean Club Montauk, Montauk Yacht Club’s newly unveiled dining experience. Led by South African Chef Jarad McCarroll, previously of Chiltern Firehouse and The Ritz London, the restaurant draws inspiration from his St Barth’s location. The 220-seat venue features the largest open kitchen in the Hamptons , where guests can enjoy freshly caught seafood, local produce, a raw bar and select Braai dishes – a traditional method of South African grilling.

Chilled lobster gazpacho and seabass tartare make for light seafront bites, or for something a little heartier, opt for the wood-fired Picanha steak (cooked for over six hours) and add a side of hand-cut fries. The drink menu complements these dishes with coastal classics and seasonal specials. Enjoying the Montauk sunset with an Aperol Spritz topped with Balsam Farm strawberries made for a memorable evening. Guests can choose to dine inside the white-and-wood-paneled restaurant or on the deck with stunning views over the marina. 

This year, Montauk Yacht Club also introduces an indulgent new chapter with the arrival of La Prairie’s first season-long spa offering in the Hamptons. Housed on an elegant white-and-blue floating spa, the Swiss skincare house brings its luxurious treatments to the marina, allowing guests, visitors, and locals alike to be pampered by the gentle sway of the water. Showcasing both their Skin Caviar and Platinum Rare Collections, the spa hosts property-exclusive treatments such as the Caviar resculpting eye lift, featuring the new Skin Caviar the Mist, while being gently rocked by the ripples of the water.

Gurney's Montauk Yacht Club & Resort is a historic lakeside resort on Lake Montauk that offers 107 guest rooms and 22 villas. Recent visitors loved the property’s beautiful location. Rooms have contemporary decor and furnishings and offer free Wi-Fi access, coffee makers, minifridges, and custom bathrobes and slippers. This award-winning resort has been a leading hotel in the Hamptons for more than 80 years. Stay busy during the day by swimming in one of the indoor/outdoor pools, taking a surf lesson, going sailing, or making the most out of their complimentary paddle boats and bicycles. The resort is home to two restaurants, The Coast Kitchen and The Alley & The Deck, and has a bar and lounge. Stayed here for our daughter's wedding and will be returning for sure. Had a recently remodeled room overlooking Lake Montauk. Bed was large and comfortable. Bathroom was immaculate. Staff was outstanding. Recommend that you try it - it may be pricy, but it's worth it.

We stayed one night ove the Columbus Day weekend.. the room was great. The location is nicer and the Marina Awsome. Only Problem was the thAt the restaurant was supposed to be open at 7am and did not and there was nowhere to get coffee!!! Food in the restaurant Show fish was good as was the service.. our waitress Sofia was Super!! Ambiance is a little dismal

The Hampton Yacht Club Casual Cruisers is an informal group of cruising enthusiasts.  We host a variety of cruises though out the year, from simple weekend cruises within a day’s sail of the club, as well as longer cruises throughout the bay and have included locations as far North as Havre de Grasse, Baltimore, Annapolis, or St. Michaels.

Our destinations are only limited by our own imagination.  Locations can be at any of a multitude of gorgeous anchorages, Marinas, or other Yacht Clubs, in towns with great restaurants, museums and lots of other activities. 

Planning begins in the early spring at the Cruise Planning GAM at the club, where the cruise calendar is created.  Of course, additional cruises are often added as the season progresses.  This schedule is located on the web site, and cruise information is always published in our monthly newsletter, the “Mainsheet”.  Additional information is also provided via e-mail blasts, to ensure that you do receive the Cruising e-mail blasts, contact Carlie London at [email protected] and ask to be added to the mailing group.  Casual Cruise members are of all ages and regardless of whether you spend your time on a sailboat or powerboat, all can be Casual Cruisers. 

How do I join?

Are you a Casual Cruiser?  Well, you might be a Casual Cruiser if you get your daily servings of fruit from rum drinks, you are not constantly trimming the sails, or your only time schedule is to arrive at the destination in time for Sundowners. All that is required is to be an HYC member and have a desire to join other boating enthusiasts. All are welcome.

Making a Racquet: Hamptonites’ favorite clubs for tennis, padel and pickleball

The 2024 US Open Tennis Championship is upon us. While the professionals are battling it out in Flushing Meadows, Hamptonites will be practicing their moves at a series of new exclusive racquet clubs.

These are not your traditional, run-of-the-mill country clubs. They are chic, social, and all about wellness, both on and off the court. They offer members not just access to beautifully maintained courts, but also views; spas; personal trainers; Michelin-starred food; and exclusive soirees.

“It’s bridging the gap between private social members clubs with the traditional country club,” said Waylon Ian Chin, CEO of NAOA , a private members club that opened in East Hampton in May. “Our thesis was about creating a club that is good for you.”

Members, who pay a $30,000 initiation fee plus $12,000 in annual dues, can hit on one of ten tennis courts. Two are made of European red clay, and eight are made of har tru clay, which is crushed granular stone.

The eight-acre campus — with pristine landscaping — also boasts four pickleball courts; three padel courts; a wellness area with cold plunges and an infrared sauna; a retail shop; a bar; and a restaurant run by a Michelin-starred food group.  “We felt that country clubs have a bad reputation when it comes to the quality of their menus,” said Ian Chin. “We said, ‘Let’s really lean into that.’”

Another club in full swing this summer is the Racquet Lounge at Southampton, a five acre oasis with four padel courts, six pickleball courts, and seven tennis courts (six Har-Tru and one hard.)

It was founded in 2023 by the Kent Hospitality Group , the masterminds behind SAGA, Crown Shy, and Overstory in New York City (SAGA does all the food at the Racquet Lounge making mostly gourmet sandwiches, salads, and smoothies.)

Members can play amongst themselves or take lessons from attractive professionals. They can also participate in tournaments, camps, and social events like lobster bakes and barbecues (a new clubhouse in the middle of the property offers viewing balconies for those who want to watch the action from above.)

Other new clubs are skipping tennis and offering pickleball or padel, fast growing sports, especially amongst the rich and famous.

In Montauk padel lovers can join Privé Padel , located in the Montauk Yacht Club, which reopened in May under the group that owns Proper Hotels. The new padel courts are located on the harbor and surrounded by glass walls, which mean players, who pay $500 for the season, get unobstructed views of the surrounding yachts and wildlife.

“We saw court reservations double from June to July, and we are on track to double July’s reservations in August,” said Nicholas Solarewicz, founder and CEO.

Brisas , which also opened this summer in East Hampton, has three padel courts and a 4,0000-square-foot lounge with an outdoor sauna and yoga studio; a snack bar; and a game area. All the furniture, including a wooden ping pong table, is hand-crafted from artisans in Mexico. The latter is made “from a single piece of wood sourced from a remote Mexican forest,” said founder Rohan Kamdar.

Members can join padel clinics to improve their games. But they can also try candle making; floral arranging; and ceramics (there is a pottery studio on site.)

The spirit is “Bohemian,” said Kamdar. “Brisas hopes to revitalize an antiquated industry — the classic country club — removing the ‘all-white outfits’ and instead inviting all walks of life to come play barefoot and be their most authentic selves.”

Drug dealer duo’s ‘delivery service’ ferried cocaine from brooklyn to high-end hamptons – for 3 times the street price: da.

A drug-dealing duo ran a Brooklyn-to-Montauk cocaine “delivery service” that catered to high-end Hamptons clients willing to pay three times the street price for a powdery fix, prosecutors said Thursday.

Alexandr Dyatchin and Michael Khodorkovsky stashed cocaine and MDMA in Mercedes cars filled with “traps” — hidden compartments used for drug smuggling — and peddled those illicit wares to well-heeled customers on the East End of Long Island, according to prosecutors and a 74-count indictment leveled against the pair.

“That cocaine was sold at basically three time the normal street value of cocaine,” Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney said. “So, it was a lucrative business for them until they were arrested.”

The chic cocaine caper allegedly hatched by Dyatchin, 38, and Khodorkovsky, 44, was among five recent high-profile, but unrelated, drug- and gun-trafficking cases highlighted by Tierney during a marathon news conference.

The duo was arrested Aug. 2 after an undercover investigation that included drug sales near Khodorkovsky’s apartment in Brooklyn, prosecutors said.

Khodorkovsky had a kilo-and-a-half of cocaine when cops busted him, in addition to coke and pills stashed in his car’s “traps,” prosecutors said. He also had $38,550 in cash and 39 gold coins valued at $100,000 in his Brooklyn apartment, Tierney said.

Dyatchin’s rented East Hampton home had 589 grams of cocaine divided up into nearly twice as many individual packages, 269 grams of MDMA and $19,046 in cash, prosecutors said. His Mercedes allegedly had a trap with more than 50 envelopes of cocaine.

Law-enforcement sources said a baggie of less than a gram of coke goes for around $50 on the street, meaning Dyatchin and Khodorkovsky’s alleged clients would have been shelling out $150 or more.

Investigators found the pair, who each owned a Mercedes and worked as private rideshare and Uber drivers, sealed their deals inside their luxury cars after meetups with customers in hoity-toity Hamptons spots such as the Montauk Yacht Club and Rosie’s eatery, the Daily Mail first reported .

The two were arraigned Aug. 16 and ordered held on $2 million cash bonds.

The case wasn’t the only massive bust featured by Tierney, who detailed cases that involved illegal guns and a fatal fentanyl overdose.

He said the five cases had yielded 39 indictments and 389 criminal counts.

“They’re five separate networks that are not connected, but they’re five separate tentacles, if you will,” he told reporters.

The cases included a cocaine and methamphetamine ring that involved Brandon Scanlon, 33, who allegedly took off from an April drug bust, hitting a Suffolk County police officer with a minivan before leading cops on a Hollywood-style shootout and chase .

“Scanlon allegedly fired multiple times at law enforcement,” Tierney said. “Scanlon fired out of this open vehicle window with his gun pointed sideways, across his stomach and a lit cigarette in his mouth. We know that because we have it on video.”

Scanlon faces an attempted murder charge, while prosecutors leveled drug-related charges against 14 others in the case, records show.

New Reservations: 



Between Memorial Day and Labor Day we require a 30 day advance cancellation. Outside of those dates, (April-Memorial Day) & (Labor Day-November 14) we require a 14 day advance cancellation. Certain rates and room packages require full deposit and are non-cancellable.

Guaranteed Reservation

Reservations must be guaranteed with a valid credit card at time of booking. Please note, special event dates may have modified deposit and cancellation policies. These rate specific policies will be noted in the price breakdown & policies section. A government issued photo ID will be required at time of check-in. Must be 21 or older to check in. To cover incidentals, $200 will be authorized on your credit card. This will be in the form of a hold on your credit card and will be removed at the end of your stay, should there not be any incidentals.

Early Arrival / Late Departure / Early Departure

Check-in time is 4:00 pm and check-out time is 11:00 am. Arriving early or need that extra hour of sleep? We’ll do our very best to accommodate your request based on availability – kindly let us know in advance. If unavailable, we’ll gladly stow your luggage safely and securely, until you’re ready to move on. Late check-out fees may apply. If you check out or leave before your scheduled departure date, there is a fee of one night’s stay plus tax.

We are a dog-friendly hotel and welcome dogs at Montauk Yacht Club. While on hotel grounds, pets must be on a leash at all times and are permitted only in pet walking areas and guestrooms. The pet fee is $100 per day.

PARKING POLICY

Valet parking is available for $20 overnight for in-house guests. Parking is complimentary for guests dining at Ocean Club. Guests visiting the Water Cabanas for wellness treatments can receive complimentary parking with validation. The hotel offers two Tesla charging stations (provided on a first-come, first-served basis).

SMOKING POLICY

Montauk Yacht Club is a non-smoking hotel. Therefore, smoking is not allowed in any public areas such as the pool, food and beverage outlets or guest rooms. A smoking cleaning fee of $400 will be assessed in the event smoking does occur in the guest rooms.



PHOTO POLICY

We love our spaces just as much as you do — and we’re so happy you’re excited to photograph and share! With that in mind, we ask you please respect our highly-designed spaces and the privacy of our hotel guests and visitors while taking any images. Our goal is to create a one-of-a-kind Proper experience for all!



Mobile phone photography is permitted with limitations:



No more than 5 minutes of dedicated photo taking please
 Privacy and respect for hotel guests must be observed at all times.
 Doors, hallways, passages, elevators, etc. may not be blocked for any reason.
 Spaces must remain 100% intact – furniture, design elements, seating, etc. cannot be moved, rearranged, or stood on.
 Respect for the working staff must be considered at all times.

Special Room Options

Cribs & rollaways.

Complimentary cribs are available by request. Rollaway beds are available for an additional $50 per night. Please contact the front desk for more information. (Limited availability).

Connecting Rooms

Connecting rooms are available and vary according to room type. As connecting rooms are limited, please let us know your preferences at the time of booking.
