I had purchased tickets for a Mother's day weekend cruise. Unfortunately, two days before the event I received an e-mail notification that the event was being cancelled due to the 2nd party not meeting criteria. Understandably so, I was informed that i would receive a refund within 5-7 days. It is day 8, and I'm still waiting for my refund. I would suggest follow up emails from the company and more professionalism when dealing with customer's money and reimbursing in a prompt manner.

Hi Super, I am following up on the message I sent you a while back. Once again we are very sorry to hear that your event was cancelled and sincerely hope that company has refunded you. We just want to make it clear that the organization that booked your event on our venue and sold the tickets, known as cruisesandfestivals.com, cancelled this cruise, not us. We are a completely different company and are not the ones responsible for cancelling the event and not giving you your deserved refund. We have already had several complaints about the company cruisesandfestivals.com and have been able to help a few people out by giving them more information regarding this matter. You can reach out to us at our number below if you are still having an issue getting refunded by them and we will try to assist you with your situation as best we can. Also if you could please remove your review as well since we had nothing to do with this that would be appreciated. Looking forward to hearing from you soon. Thank You, Anna Chere Amie Management 888-749-6559 [email protected]

We had a group of 80 students on board and it was an amazing time. The crew and owner were very flexible to our requests and the pricing was very reasonable. Highly recommend this company

We went out on a fourth of july event on this boat. My friend purchased our tickets through eventbrite. The boat appeared as if it was falling apart...looked pretty shabby. The dj for the event didn't show up, and there was barely enough food. Lastly, this was an event with food and alcohol, on July 4th, so needless to say, people were drinking a lot. Two separate couples got in huge arguments on the cruise, and one couple looked like they might get physically violent with each other. There was not one crew member in the vicinity during these arguments who tried to stop the fight or even say anything to the offending guests. I think if you are going to have an event at night with alcohol on a huge holiday, that you should consider having at least one "bouncer type" employee on board. The whole thing was still fun, but more comically so, and I just barely was able to fight for enough food to keep me alive during our trip. I would not suggest trying one of their cruises unless they step it up a notch.

Hi Nanci, I hope the message I sent you earlier found you well. Again we are sorry to hear that this event did not meet your expectations. The DJ we hired for this cruise has done a couple of events for us in the past, but unfortunately he did not show up this time and we were all very disappointed by that. Our chef tried to set up some DJ equipment which set us back with food a bit. We eventually did get all the food out there and hopefully you got a chance to enjoy that. As soon as we heard there was an altercation we were able to get a couple crew members up there to help break it up. We will certainly do our best to improve on future cruises and wanted to apologize for this event not going as planned. Please feel free to reach out to us if you have any other questions or comments and we will be happy to help you as best as we can. Thanks. Sincerely, Anna [email protected]

Since this was our first cruise, I have nothing to compare it to. The view of the fireworks was awesome and we had a great time.

I drove 6 hrs yesterday to see my mother and excited to do the Mother's Day cruise. When I arrived t SD I read my emails and read it was cancelled. Now I have to make new plans. I am so disappointed in your service and will never book a thing with you again.

This was a pretty decent sized yacht. A really good friend of mine hosted a private event on this boat! The owners and staff were awsome. The yacht had a bar, bathrooms were clean. The top level is where my friend performed and was very spacious! I think top capacity is 120 people! Great place to throw a venue. The went around Coronado. We were under the bridge while my friend performed his awsome music! Everyone had a blast! I loved it!!

Photo of Cameron C.

I have been on many charters Hornbloeer GREAT! SPIRIT GREAT!! But this yacht charter was the worst experience I have ever had! First of all when you arrive to get in the boat the guy looked like he just came from partying all night, to get in the boat was dangerous the way they had a wobly old ramp and then when you get on the boat the line to get a drink was ridiculous only one bartender, I'm lucky I paid cash because at he end of this nightmare of a trip people who paid with a credit card were waiting and waiting because they couldn't figure out who's credit card was who's, my wife ordered a dirty martini and they had NO OLIVES!! free drink tickets were for their gross punch! The food they had was nasty and not what was told online what it would be. And the fireworks show was suppose to be by the Coronado bridge when I asked the "hired captain" how come we were not by the Coronado bridge to see the fireworks he said for me to ask for a refund and to yelled at me to sit down and shut up or he was gonna call the harbor police on me. I couldn't believe how we all were treated on this boat! The captain also had us sit at the bow because he couldn't see in front of him! This boat ishojls not be servicing to charter period!! VERY DANGEROUS AND UNPROFESSIONAL BOAT CREW AND BOAT! So to this point it's been a disaster and now we come to getting off the boat, me and my wife get off the boat and harbor and then we see the captain who was hired by this company to charter this boat talk to the harbor police and then the harbor police confronts me and my wife and has my wife take the plate we took off the boat which was frozen cheesecake because everything on this boat was frozen food. See asks me what happened and I tell her she is even laughing so she asks for my Id at this point I'm embarrassed and paid 200.00 to watch fireworks on a boat with my wife which were not what we thought, and now I'm being harrassed by police because this so called "captain" wanted to get me in trouble. His guy should not be driving a boat or even being in customer service because he was the WORST captain I have ever met. This boat is shady and I would NEVER EVER EVER GO ON THIS BOAT NOR HAVE MY FRIENDS OR FAMILY GO ON THIS BOAT!! ACCUSING ME IF HARRASSING THE CAPTAIN WHO COULDNT SEE TO. DRIVE UM THATS A LROBLEM ME! HARRASSING the captain please I went up one time and his response was unprofessional and out right rude! For you to say all night was ridiculous and your just trying to cover yourself from anybody or a lot of people who were experiencing the same issues with this crew! Making me the scapegoat is what you did!! I WOULD NEVER EVER GOING ON THIS OLD BEAT UP BOAT WHICH SAFTETY WAS NOT AN ISSUE FOR THIS BOAT CREW AT ALL!! NO LIGHTS ON THE BOAT AND WE GET BLAMED BECAUSE THE CAPTAIN CANT SEE?? DANGEROUS BOAT AND CREW WAS HORRIBLE !!! FOOD WAS GROSE AND LACK THERE OF! WARNING TO ALL!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHADY BOAT CRUISE!

Hi Cameron, We are sorry to hear that your experience did not go as planned. But I would like to address several of the fabrications from your review as we take our customer service seriously. From the moment we met you at the gate you lied about having a "Fast Pass", which you tried to use to cut everybody in line to get into the event. To be clear, we have never sold any of these passes. We have also never had any problems with boarding guests or safety during this process. We had 2 bartenders for this event who were able to make every drink they were asked and also closed every credit card in as timely a manner as possible. The other main issue we had was you harassing our captain during the event several times. A number of times you were blocking his line of sight and yelling at him. We had several guests also complain about your behavior as well during the cruise. Our intention was to never call the harbor police on any one of our guests if we can avoid doing so. But given your behavior the entire night and the way you treated our captain we decided it was the best option for the safety of our guests and crew. It is our goal to make sure that our events go as smoothly as possible and that every one our guests have a genuinely great experience. If you need further explanation regarding this matter please feel free to contact us and one of our staff members will be happy to discuss any questions or issues you might have. Sincerely, Anna

Jorge one of the crew and bartender is so awsome! He makes everyone feel so welcomed. This boat is great for having bachelor parties, bachelorette parties, single groups, corporate meetings, and the best thing is you can either bring your own caterer or they have their own catering. The prices are reasonable. I enjoyed the mix of music that included Gilligan's Island's theme song! There is plenty of space to dance, have fun and capture the beauty of San Diego via the water. I highly recommend this yacht charter.

Awesome yacht! We had a summer party for the California Chiropractic Association, San Diego District and had an amazing time. More than 100 doctors along with family and friends enjoyed tour in the San Diego harbor and couldn't have asked for more. We boarded at the time planned, left the dock on time and returned right on time. The crew was great, accommodating and friendly. I highly recommend the Chere Amie for any special event on the water!

Photo of Christina C.

I helped my good friend organize his 30th birthday celebration on the Chere Amie. We had about 120 guests, a couple DJ's, a bit of alcohol, and a beautiful sunset...what more could you ask for while on a yacht in San Diego? DP (the owner) and the crew and staff were all amazing- helpful, friendly, professional, and accommodating. The Chere Amie was a clean vessel, had a spacious upstairs area and a open lounge area that lead out to the decks in the front and back of the yacht. We were able to celebrate in style on the Chere Amie. I would definitely recommend booking any of your upcoming events on this yacht!

A traveler's guide to Novosibirsk, the unofficial capital of Siberia

chere amie yacht charters photos

Trans-Siberian heritage

Residents of Novosibirsk love trains and are proud of the fact that their city played a significant role in the history of the grand Trans-Siberian railway, which spans the breadth of Russia. The railway is such a part of Novosibirsk identity that it is even depicted on the city’s emblem, along with the bridge that crosses the Ob river and two Siberian sables standing on their hind legs.

In the city, there are as many as five monuments to trains, and an open-air locomotive museum is located in the vicinity of the train station Seyatel’. The museum has more than 100 steam locomotives, diesel locomotives and carriages, reflecting the history of rail transportation in Russia from pre-revolutionary times to the present day. Wondering around the stationary trains and comparing your height with the diameter of the gigantic iron wheels of the first steam locomotives is all very well, but why not climb inside the carriages and see how the nobility once traveled across Russia in pre-revolutionary times? These tours will however need to be booked in advance. The museum opens from 11:00 until 17:00 every day except Mondays.

Novosibirsk spans both sides of the river Ob. In the early twentieth century, the border of two different timezones passed right through the city which led to a strange situation- morning on the east bank started one hour earlier than on the west bank! The two-kilometer covered metro bridge that crosses the river is considered the longest in the world. Due to the fluctuations in temperature across the year (on average +30 °C to -30 °C), during the summer the metro bridge expands, and in the winter it contracts by half a meter. To counter these effects, the bridge’s supports are equipped with special rollers that allow it to move.

The cultural center of Siberia

chere amie yacht charters photos

The repertoire of the theatre can be viewed on its official website . The theatre season runs from September to July, and comprises mainly classical performances, like the ballet “The Nutcracker” by Tchaikovsky, Borodin’s opera “Prince Igor” and Verdi’s “La Traviata”.

The large Siberian sea and ligers

chere amie yacht charters photos

Weekends are best spent at the Novosibirsk zoo . The zoo is known for breeding big cats, although surrounded by controversy, hosts a successful crossing of a tiger and lion, which of course would not otherwise breed in wildlife. Ligers, or exotic cubs of an African lion and Bengal tigress, feel quite comfortable in the Siberian climate and even produce offspring. The zoo is open to visitors year-round, seven days a week, and even has its own free mobile app, Zoo Nsk .

Every year at the beginning of January, the festival of snow culture takes place bringing together artists from across Russia and around the world to participate in a snow sculpting competition. The tradition started in 2000 inspired by the snow festival in Sapporo, Novosibirsk’s twin-city.

Siberian Silicon Valley

chere amie yacht charters photos

Despite the fact that Akademgorodok was built half a century ago in the middle of the uninhabited Siberian taiga, architecturally it was ahead of its time. No trees were destroyed for its construction, and houses were built right in the middle of the forest. A man walking through the woods would seemingly stumble upon these structures. At that time, no one had built anything similar in the world and ecovillages only became fashionable much later.

For residents of the Novosibirsk Akademgorodok is a different world. When you step out the bus or car, you are immediately on one of the hiking paths through the forest, between the scientific buildings and clubs. On a walk through Akademgorodok, it is possible to unexpectedly encounter art-like objects handmade by residents of the city which have been erected as monuments and some monuments fixed up by city authorities. For example, the monument to the laboratory mice, which knits a strand of DNA on to some needles, can be found in the square alongside the Institute of Cytology and Genetics. In Akademgorodok there are many cafes and restaurants, in which it is possible to rest after a long walk. Grab a coffee and go to eat at Traveler’s Coffee , or eat lunch at the grille and bar People’s or Clover .

Winters in the Akademgorodok are slightly colder than in the city, so wrap up. Spring and summer are usually wetter, so waterproof boots are recommended. In the summer the Ob sea provides respite from the heat, so do not forget your swimsuit to go for a dip.

Memento Mori

chere amie yacht charters photos

Among the exhibits of the museum is one dedicated to world funeral culture — hearses, memorial jewellery from the hair of the deceased, samples from a specific photo-genre of  "post mortem", a collection of funeral wear from the Victorian era, deathmasks, statues and monuments. There’s also an impressive collection of coffins. One of them, resembling a fish, was manufactured on a special visit to Novosibirsk by a designer coffin-maker from Africa, Eric Adjetey Anang, who specializes in the production of unusual coffins.

Surprisingly, the crematorium itself does not look at all gloomy in appearance and definitely does not look like infernal scenes from movies, or like crematoriums of other cities that gravitate towards gloomy temple aesthetics. The Novosibirsk crematorium is decorated in “cheerful” orange tones and is surrounded by a park with a children’s playground nearby. A visit to the museum then leaves you with mixed feelings.

Novosibirsk underground

chere amie yacht charters photos

Tourists from all over the world go down into the Moscow metro to take a ride and a few selfies in the most famous underground museum. The Novosibirsk metro is also quite a museum in itself — it has 13 stations, the most beautiful of which is Gagarinskaya, Sibirskaya and Rechnoy Vokzal.

The ultramodern Gagarinskaya station is like a real cosmos underground. Its technologically themed design includes marble walls with metallic elements, dark blue backlighting and portraits of Yuri Gagarin. The Sibirskaya station looks like an underground treasure trove, decorated by Altai masters craftsmen with mosaics of precious Siberian stones. The Rechnoy Vokzal station is framed with ten glowing stained glass windows depicting the largest cities of Siberia, including Novosibirsk itself, Omsk, Barnaul and others. The platform resembles a big ship sailing on the Ob, from which ancient Siberian cities are visible through its windows.

How to get there

The easiest way to get to Novosibirsk is by plane with Aeroflot or Novosibirsk airline S7 with one-way tickets from Moscow costing from 200-250 USD. If you decide to take from the train from Moscow, you’ll have to travel approximately a third of the Trans-Siberian Railway. That’s 3,300 kilometers over almost a three-day journey.

Where to stay

There are many great hotels in Novosibirsk. Amongst the best include a four-star Doubletree hotel by Hilton , which is located near Lenin Square (per room from $200). After renovations and repairs, the congress-hotel Novosibirsk has improved (per room from $100) and is located across from the train station. Less expensive but of a similar standard is the four-star River Park hotel near Rechnoy Vokzal metro station, which costs $80 per night.
