About this gulet

Motor sailor Romanca is one of few vessels that can accommodate up to 18+1 guests in Croatia. It is one of best maintained gulet in Croatia, very clean and all services are checked by owner Andrea with woman’s touch. One of the most interesting features of this boat is the fact that the crew can do their duties almost completely separated from the clients, so you can have your privacy if that is your preference. The exterior of the ship consists of the back area, where the outdoor dining table is located, and the big sun deck, which also has deck chairs. The area is covered, and the sun deck can also be partially covered in case you would prefer not to have so much sun. The main deck also has one guest cabin. Superb service consists of 5 people and delicious food just add last fine touch to complete excellent experience.

How is food organized?

Before your departure, You will receive a list of food served on board so you can specify all extra needs you might have or remove any items you do not like. Your cruise assistant will forward all of the group’s wishes, info about allergies, likes and dislikes to the chef on board.

How are beverages organised?

Before your departure, Your cruise assistant will arrange that all of your favourite drinks are waiting for you in yacht’s bar. If you decide to buy drinks from yacht’s bar, you will give a list of drinks you would like to have on board, the crew will get them and sell according to yacht’s bar price list. All Inclusive drinks package includes local alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks; you can bring all foreign brands with you free of charge. If you pay corkage fee, you will give us the list of drinks you wish to have in yacht’s bar and we will supply the drinks – you will only cover the supermarket bill.

Crew Information

Gulet Romanca has a crew of 5:

Captain: will take you around all the beautiful places and make the trip as safe as possible. He will follow the pre-planned route, created for you by your “concierge assistant” if only the weather will allow it.

Chef: is famous for its food and exquisite cuisine. Food is modified according to your taste buds and good planning can make wonders for your cruise.

2 Deckhands: the right hand of the captain, will make sure the ship is safely moored, your cabins and deck cleaned and everything in order.

Hostess: will always be around to make sure you get the right wine with your meals, that the table is properly set and cleaned and chilled drinks brought to you, as soon as you get thirsty.

Romanca is one of the few Croatian charter yachts able to accommodate up to 16 + 2 guests. Spread among her 28m / 92ft hull, Romanca’s 8 double and 1 triple cabins make her the perfect choice for mixed groups of friends or even two or three-family gatherings.

Expansive spaces both inside and out

This beautiful traditional wooden ship has a huge, attractive sun deck, a comfortable seating area for 18 guests, and a spacious, comfortable interior saloon. The saloon has two dining tables and a bar, whose stock includes some of the finest Croatian wines. On deck, Romanca’s al fresco stern dining area is shaded from the heat, while if you wish to bask in the sun her vast top deck has deck chairs and comfortably cushioned sun beds. The sun deck’s perfect relaxation area can also be partially shaded if you prefer and its vast dimensions provide the perfect party space for many kinds of functions - even weddings have been organised aboard.

A choice of water toys

Romanca boasts a powerful 5.3m tender with 100hp outboard so you can perform acrobatics on water skies, and tube. There is also jet ski, paddleboards, canoes, snorkelling gear, and fishing equipment.

A Woman’s touch

As one of the most charismatic yacht owners in Croatia, Andrea oversees every detail of Romanca’s presentation. As result, Romanca is one of the best-maintained gulets in Croatia. Having worked her way up from cleaning maid, via stewardess to manager, she has worked aboard every summer for the past 15 years. Private Marinas:

• If a client wishes to use private marinas the costs can vary from 300 and up to 800 €/night.
• Tips are not included in the price of the charter and are a voluntary way of showing appreciation for a good service. Usually, it is 7% to 15% of the charter price, according to your satisfaction, paid to the captain at the end of the charter and distributed equally by the captain to the rest of the crew.

Additional Motorized Water Sports:

• Romanca has water skiing and Ringo ride which is charged 60 €/hour according to clients usage. Jet ski is charged 150 €/hour according to clients usage.

Other Options on request:

• Land transfers, fishing licenses, guided tours, excursions, restaurants, bike rentals, car rentals.

How does the charter agreement work?

Once your chosen yacht has been confirmed, we will send you a standard MYBA or Goolets charter agreement that needs to be signed. If your chosen cruise route requires a different embarking or disembarking place other than the yacht's central harbor, delivery/redelivery fees may apply.

What are the payment terms?

After signing the MYBA or Goolets charter agreement, a deposit of 50% of the total charter cost is required. You can pay the fee via bank transfer or credit card (only Visa or MasterCard). The other 50%, an Advance Provisioning Allowance (if applicable), taxes, positioning fees, and any previously agreed charges are payable via bank transfer eight weeks before departure.

What are the actual operating expenses?

Once you made the final payment of the charter, you pay the Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA). Under MYBA terms, this fee is usually between 30% - 40% of the total charter cost.

This covers the operating expenses of a charter (explained under Charter Terms), such as fuel, food, drinks, port fees, and ad hoc incidentals. The APA is given to the captain before the start of your charter. Some yachts and gulets also offer food/drinks packages which are normally paid in cash during embarkation, while the port taxes are paid during embarkation according to the costs presented by the captain. The Captain ensures that the yacht is fully fuelled and stocked when you step on board. 

While an up-to-date summary of accounts can be requested at any time during your charter, a full set of accounts will normally be submitted by your captain at the end of the cruise. 

In case of surpassing the amount of money already paid during your yacht charter (with the APA), additional funds (in cash) will be required at once. If there is an outstanding balance from the yacht charter, it should be settled in cash or by bank transfer before you disembark. In case of a remaining credit at the end of your charter, you will be fully reimbursed. 

If a transfer by car to and from the yacht is required, it can be arranged either by the charter company or by the yacht’s captain, payment for which will be deducted from your APA.

How can we make your yacht charter personalized?

To ensure a unique and tailor-made charter experience, we will send you a detailed questionnaire eight weeks before you embark on your yacht. You can tell us your group's preferences and special requirements, such as dietary or medical needs, any particular wishes regarding exercise, entertainment, or if you are celebrating a special occasion. 

Are internet and satellite TV connections available onboard?

In case you really need to get some work done during your vacation, no worries. On most yachts, there is mobile broadband internet and satellite TV, so you will stay connected to the rest of the world. Just keep in mind that the service can be limited in some areas (you are in the middle of the sea after all). If you anticipate regular usage of the internet, let us know prior to embarking, as upgrades might be subject to availability and additional fees may apply.

Is smoking allowed onboard?

Smoking is permitted only on the outside decks, and on some yachts, only in dedicated outdoor areas. Please consult our charter brokers for more information. For safety reasons, smoking indoors is strictly prohibited on all yachts.

Are tips for the crew mandatory?

Even though tips are not mandatory, the guests normally extend a gratuity to the devoted crew. The amount depends on the guest's satisfaction, but it is approximately 10% of the charter fee. The tips are equally distributed among all crew members by the captain.

Should I get any insurance?

In case of unforeseen circumstances that might prevent the charter, we highly recommend taking out the Cancellation and Curtailment Insurance to protect the investment. Besides that, the guests should be covered by Personal Accident and Medical Insurance, and their belongings are insured against theft, loss, or damage. Charterers’ Liability insurance is also highly recommended. Contact your broker for further assistance and additional advice regarding the insurance.

How are the charter rates calculated?

Charter rates are estimated weekly. If a charter exceeds seven days, they are calculated pro-rata against the weekly rate divided by seven and multiplied by the number of charter days. Keep in mind that some yachts are only chartered on a weekly (Saturday-Saturday or Sunday-Sunday) basis, especially during the high season.

High and low season rates vary depending on charter locations and types of yachts. The high rates apply to the most popular charter periods (July/August and Christmas/New Year), and to all major events. Low season rates apply to all other periods.

The charter rates on our website are up to date but may be subject to change. 

What are the charter terms?

Most charter rates are based on MYBA Terms, which entail that the yacht is in full commission, with all necessary equipment, properly insured for marine risks, and managed by a crew, whose wages, food, and clothing are the owner’s expense.

All other operating expenses are charged to the charterer and include (but are not limited to): fuel and lubricating oils for the yacht and her tenders; local taxes; pilotage; port, harbor, and marina dues; customs clearance; water and power; personal laundry; all provisions, wines, beers, spirits, soft drinks and consumables for the charterer’s group; shoreside excursions, telecommunication, and internet costs.

Please note that, occasionally, a yacht may offer an alteration on the terms described above. For further information about specific yachts, consult your broker.

Do any other taxes apply?

For charters in European waters, Value Added Tax and delivery costs may be charged on the gross Charter Fee, due to the European Union tax legislation. In other countries, local taxes may also apply. Depending on your chosen charter destination, our brokers will provide any prevalent rates.

Boat Description

Motor sailor Romanca is another beauty in our fleet – ideal for larger groups up to 16 guests. This beautiful traditional wooden ship has a huge, attractive sun deck, comfortable eating area for 16 guests and spacious, comfortable inside area. However the main aspect which makes this boat so special is the crew. This family owned boat is in safe hands by its owners for more than a decade now – and they tend to keep it in its best condition by constantly upgrading. Service aboard, leaded by the hostess and manager Andrea, is something that will fully complement your holidays.

In the last few years Romanca has been fully renovated inside (new cabins and toilets) and outside (completely new sun deck).

Deck: The exterior of the ship consists of the back area, where the outdoor dining table is located, and a big sun deck, which also has deck chairs with mattresses. The area is fully covered from sun and can be covered from wind. The sun deck can also be partially covered in case you would prefer not to have so much sun. Sun deck is a massive area for relaxing and enjoying, big enough that crew has already organized some weddings aboard.

Salon areas: The salon has two dining tables and the bar, with various drinks available, as well as some of the finest Croatian wines. Passing through the salon, you reach the interior corridor where 8 guest cabins are located.

Galley & crew quarters : kitchen galley features all necessary equipment – including ovens with stainless steel stove, refrigerator, freezer, ice machine, BBQ. Crew of Romanca is led by the hostess Andrea and first mate Marin. Andrea has been working on Romanca every summer for the past 14 years, started as a cleaning maid, and ending up as the stewardess and manager. She speaks English and Spanish fluently and she is in charge of making sure that everything is running smoothly with the crew. Her mission on board is that every guests enjoys his/hers time on Romanca to the fullest.

Marin, the first mate and helmsman, loves everything that is related to the sea, so working on Romanca fulfills him completely. He spends most of the year working on improving the ship and standard annual maintenance.

Andrea’s brother, Mirko, is an engineer and a sailor. He is studying at the Maritime College in Split, majoring in ship engineering. He has been working on Romanca as a sailor and engineer for the past 8 years, together with his sister Andrea and their family who owns the ship.

Romanca is sailing in the safe hands of the captain Renato. He is very experienced as his work has taken him all over the world. He finished Maritime school, and start working on boats at early age. Over the past 26 years, he has worked as a sailor and captain on cruise ships, private yachts and speedboats. Renato has been the captain of Romanca for the past 5 years.

Last two members of the crew are cook and waiter who will fill your table with wonderful Dalmatian specialties. Please come and enjoy it!

Marin Matulović

Marin’s seafaring journey began on May 8, 1983, when he was born into a coastal family in the picturesque city of Split, Croatia. From his earliest memories, Marin felt an irresistible pull toward the sea, captivated by its boundless beauty and untamed spirit.

After completing his high school education, Marin wasted no time pursuing his passion for the sea. Eager to gain hands-on experience in the maritime industry, he secured a position at a renowned company specializing in yacht construction. For six years, he immersed himself in vessel building, honing his skills and craftsmanship with dedication and precision.

Fluent in English, Marin ensures smooth communication with guests and crew alike. In his free time, Marin indulges his passions for his family, sport, and adventure. A skilled football player, he enjoys friendly matches with his crewmates whenever possible.

For Marin, working on Romance isn’t just a job; it’s a way of life. He pours his heart and soul into the ship, dedicating countless hours to its maintenance and improvement. From fine-tuning the rigging to ensuring every detail is shipshape, Marin’s unwavering commitment to excellence shines through in every aspect of his work.

Ivan Lončar

Ivan was born on 14 May 1993 in Split, where he grew up and graduated from Maritime High School.

He worked in construction for a while, but after obtaining the necessary maritime licenses and certificates, he decidedly embarked on his career at sea. After working on supply ships for some time, he joined Romanca in 2017.

Ivan brings a disciplined approach to every task. Whether on watch or navigation or transporting guests on a tender, clients can feel confident and secure knowing they are in capable hands.

Its goal is to provide a pleasant and friendly time on the Gulet Romanca. He is also always willing to help and assist his colleagues.

He speaks English fluently and spends most of his free time in sports activities and hiking.

Marin Reljić

Marin was born on March 20, 2004, in Split, where he attended Maritime High School. He also completed additional maritime courses and obtained other certifications.

An interesting fact about him is that he likes to spend his free time hiking and is an expert on Dalmatian peaks.

By moving into the boating industry, he was allowed to develop and sharpen his skills in seafaring and taking care of the safety of the ship and everyone on board.

This is his first year working at Romanca, and he is a valuable team member; with motivation , he is always there to help with a big smile.

Marin Mrković

Marin, the newest addition to Romanca’s crew, brings a passion for culinary excellence that promises to elevate every aspect of your cruise experience. Marin’s journey into gastronomy began at a young age, as he eagerly experimented with flavors and ingredients in his family kitchen. Marin’s culinary repertoire knows no bounds, from traditional Croatian dishes’ savory aromas to international cuisine’s delicate intricacies.

For Marin, cooking isn’t simply a skill; it’s a labor of love—an opportunity to delight the senses and nourish the soul. Whether crafting a hearty seafood stew inspired by the bounty of the Adriatic or presenting a delicate dessert infused with local flavors, Marin approaches each dish with care and creativity, ensuring that every bite is a culinary masterpiece. With a keen eye for detail and a discerning palate, he constantly pushes the boundaries of his culinary prowess, delighting in discovering unexpected flavor profiles and innovative techniques.

But Marin’s love for the sea goes far beyond the confines of the kitchen. As a devoted nature enthusiast, he finds solace and inspiration, spending every spare moment diving beneath the surface, searching for fresh fish and other treasures from the deep.

With Marin at the helm of Romanca’s culinary offerings, every meal becomes a celebration of the sea and the bounty it provides. Whether you’re savoring a sumptuous seafood feast prepared with ingredients caught just hours before or indulging in a delectable dessert crafted with care and precision, you can rest assured that your taste buds are in expert hands.

Mario Kosor

Mario was born in 1982 in the German town of Borken and completed his education in Split.

After secondary vocational and technical school, he successfully graduated from the Polytechnic in Split, majoring in telecommunications. In the meantime, he additionally attended various courses and worked as an IT support (maintenance of computer equipment) to further improve his IT knowledge.

For some time, he worked in hotels and restaurants as a waiter, and as a result, he became very successful in working with people by offering excellent service.

He will do his best to make his guests feel comfortable during their vacation. He is excited to become a member of the Romanca team, and his colleagues describe him as kind, friendly, and a hard worker.

Of foreign languages, he is best at English in foreign languages, and he likes to spend his free time playing tennis and, in the kitchen, trying out various gastronomic recipes.

Marin, the perfect and always present Captain – focused and attentive – who made our journey unique. Mirko, always present and extremely oriented to satisfy any our needs. Ivan, quite impossible to thank him for the assistance with our Conan. Emanuela and Antonella, pampered us throughout the joruney. Boby, who prepared daily for us delicious and beautifully presented high cuisine meals. All together you have given us an unforgettable experience. We deeply thank you from the bottom of our heart!

Romanca 

Sleeping up to 18 guests, the 28.4 meter gulet ROMANCA can accommodate more than most gulets so is ideal for larger groups of families and friends for island hopping cruises of Croatia & the Dalmatian Coast. Perfect for celebrations of important Birthdays, Wedding Anniversaries or just an excuse for families and friends to get together for a good time, drink some nice wine and sample the delights of the local Dalmatian cuisine. The deck area of the boat is also very large compared to other gulets, so there is plenty of space to move around, and there is one big open space on the top deck, which is ideal for having parties and dancing in the evenings as well as relaxing and sunbathing in the daytime. The boat was one of the first to offer cruises in Croatia, so they have lots of cruising experience and know how to please their clients. Romanca can start from either Split or Dubrovnik and its itineraries include Trogir, Vis, Hvar and Korcula, Mljet, Sipan, and many more places. The boat comes with a friendly and attentive crew of 6 including skipper, first mate, cook, hostess and 2 deck-hands.

Charter price includes

The crew (specified above), harbour fees, water, electricity, clean bed linen, clean shower and sunbathing towels (changed at least twice a week), a free welcome drink, fuel for 4 hours cruising a day (which is usually more than enough), Wi-Fi Internet connection, personal injury insurance while on the boat, and free use of onboard equipment specified above.

Charter price doesn't include

Meals & other drinks aboard (specified above), transfers between the airport and boat, National Park entrance fees and tips to the crew.

Advanced Provisioning Allowance (APA) is a percentage of the charter price to be paid in advance to cover your expenses during the cruise, such as meals, drinks, harbour fees, etc. The APA is held on account on your behalf and at the end of the week the total of all your expenses will be deducted and the balance will be refunded to you (it does not include tips to the crew, which need to be paid separately). Not all boats ask for an APA (see above) but ask for meals and all-inclusive drinks to be paid on arrival and harbour fees to be paid locally as you arrive in each port.

The boats' charter season is usually from the beginning of May to the end of October and this is usually divided into 3 price periods, with Low Season usually comprising May & October, Mid Season usually comprising June & September, and High Season usually comprising July & August. Some boats, however, can have as few as 2 different pricing periods and some as many as 4 or even 5, and the dates for these can vary, so if you are confused, which is understandable, please don't hesitate to

MARIN MATULOVIĆ - CAPTAIN Marin is the Captain of Romanca. He was born in Split on the 8th of May in 1983. After he finished high school, he started working in a company building yachts. For six years, he worked in the construction of vessels. He has been a part of Romanca for the past five years. He speaks English. In his free time, he enjoys playing football and is an avid diver, both with diving gear and without. He loves everything related to the sea and working on Romanca; he spends most of the year working on improving the ship. IVAN LONČAR - FIRST OFFICER Ivan was born on 14 May 1993 in Split, where he grew up and graduated from Maritime High School. He worked in construction for a while, but after obtaining the necessary maritime licenses and certificates, he decidedly embarked on his career at sea. After working on supply ships for some time, he joined Romanca in 2017. Ivan brings a disciplined approach to every task. Whether on watch or navigation or transporting guests on a tender, clients can feel confident and secure knowing they are in capable hands. Its goal is to provide a pleasant and friendly time on the Gulet Romanca. He is also always willing to help and assist his colleagues. He speaks English fluently and spends most of his free time in sports activities and hiking. MARIN RELJIĆ - DECKHAND Marin was born on March 20, 2004, in Split, where he attended Maritime High School. He also completed additional maritime courses and obtained other certifications. An interesting fact about him is that he likes to spend his free time hiking and is an expert on Dalmatian peaks. By moving into the boating industry, he was allowed to develop and sharpen his skills in seafaring and taking care of the safety of the ship and everyone on board. He is a valuable team member; with motivation , he is always there to help with a big smile. IVANA STRUJIĆ - CHEF Ivana was born in Split, where she graduated from high school of economics, but her love for cooking led her to the world of gastronomy. She followed her passion for cooking and went to school and courses to become a chef. Over the years, she built up her experience cooking for fine restaurants, hotels, private residences, and ships. She has a flair for various cuisines, but gradually she became an expert in traditional and home cooking. Ivana always aims to please and goes beyond that; she is always ready to come up with contemporary and challenging dishes so that Romanca guests have the most pleasant culinary experience while on board. MARIO KOSOR - BARTENDER Mario was born in 1982 in the German town of Borken and completed his education in Split. After secondary vocational and technical school, he successfully graduated from the Polytechnic in Split, majoring in telecommunications. In the meantime, he additionally attended various courses and worked as an IT support (maintenance of computer equipment) to further improve his IT knowledge. For some time, he worked in hotels and restaurants as a waiter, and as a result, he became very successful in working with people by offering excellent service. He will do his best to make his guests feel comfortable during their vacation. He is excited to become a member of the Romanca team, and his colleagues describe him as kind, friendly, and a hard worker. Of foreign languages, he is best at English in foreign languages, and he likes to spend his free time playing tennis and, in the kitchen, trying out various gastronomic recipes.

This family-owned, traditional wooden yacht (featuring mahogany, oak, and teak) has been meticulously renovated to seamlessly blend classic elegance with contemporary luxury. With a history of repeat clientele, she exudes a welcoming and friendly atmosphere, further elevated by her skilled and attentive crew. Under the guidance of hostess and manager Andrea, the crew ensures top-tier service, making guests feel like part of the family. Special occasions onboard are celebrated with great success, and the culinary experience is always highly acclaimed by guests, featuring delectable Mediterranean dishes made from fresh, local ingredients.

Inside, Romanca offers a spacious and beautifully designed interior. The sunlit saloon is perfect for relaxed gatherings, featuring two dining tables and a bar that stocks some of Croatia's finest wines. Below deck, the yacht accommodates large groups comfortably, with eight double bed cabins, each featuring en suite bathrooms and air conditioning. For families, there is an additional Owner’s cabin, suitable for two small children in bunk beds, though it does not have its own en suite.

On deck, the exterior spaces of Romanca are equally impressive. Guests can unwind on the large sun deck furnished with comfortable sun mattresses or enjoy alfresco meals at the shaded dining table on the aft deck. For those seeking adventure, the yacht offers an array of water activities, including a SeaBob, jet ski, water skiing, kayaking, and snorkelling, ensuring there's always something exciting to do on board.

Crewed charter yacht ROMANCA has plenty to offer guests on her exterior teak decks. Aft of the salon is a large deck space, complete with seating and an alfresco dining option. A raised sundeck is full beam of the yacht and over 2/3 of the yachts length, making it the ideal space for relaxing, sunning and entertaining.

Guulet ROMANCA has is a gaff rigged schooner, oozing tradition and style. When under power, she has a 570hp CAT engine and cruises at average speeds of up to 8 knots.

M/Y Romanca is a 9 cabin boat built to comfortably accommodate a larger number of people than normal gulets. One of the most interesting features of this boat is the fact that the crew can do their duties almost completely separated from the clients, so you can have your privacy if that is your preference. The exterior of the ship consists of the back area, where the outdoor dining table is located, and the big sun deck, which also has deck chairs. The area is covered, and the sun deck can also be partially covered in case you would prefer not to have so much sun. The main deck also has one guest cabin. The salon has two dining tables and the bar, with various drinks available, as well as some of the finest Croatian wines. Passing through the salon, you reach the interior corridor where 8 guest cabins are located. The crew of Romanca consists of 6 people: the captain, first mate, sailor, cook, hostess and they are lead by the manager and chief stewardess, Andrea. The crew are experienced and professional, and they have all been working on Romanca in the past few years. They will make sure that all your needs are taken care of.
