Is this excursion suited for someone in a wheelchair? Obviously I wont climb the dunns river, but would like to come with my family and watch.

No it is not suitable for a wheelchair, the access to the catamaran is not great, and would be difficult for anyone with walking difficulties, the catamaran is really crowded, and we had to negotiate another 2 to get on to ours. At Dunns River the jetty it quite rickety and leads straight on to the sand, hope this useful.

Where are bathroom facilities on this excursion?

Down a few stairs.

We have been many times and love it! My question is this trip my grandchildren will be with us. They are 4, 2 and 2. If an adult stays with them can they go on the boat? They would not snorkel or climb.

There were children on our boat and they were allowed to snorkel. They were not as young as your grandchildren, maybe from 5-12yrs old, but they seemed to have a good time. Just keep an eye on them because when the dancing starts, it can get a little crowded and wild. Have a great vacation!

How long is the catamaran ride from sailing to the falls?

Catamaran package deal is supposedly a full-day COURSE, from the point and time you’ll be picked-up from your hotel normally in the morning after breakfast, and then on the shuttle bus that’s where all the fun begins due to the driver makes that excursions fun and interesting.  Then you’ll be dropped off the place where you need to wear your water shoes when you go to your boat and to the falls and back (lots and lots of fun it is all well worth every dollar spent). Have a good time!

How difficult is it to get back on the boat after snorkeling. How far does the ladder go down in the water?

Normal ladder. Probably 2 rungs below water. Very easy. We had all shapes and sizes in our group.

Our driver was great. He stopped a few places that we asked him to stop at on the way to the boat from Montego Bay. The day we went out it was very windy but that isn’t something that was your fault by any means. Nobody can control mother nature! That being said, the snorkeling was pretty challenging with the waves and current. The falls were awesome besides some guide with a group behind us that was a real asshole. Y’all’s people were great though! The way back to the dock after the falls was really fun. Wish it would have lasted longer but while it lasted it was fun! Everything that your company provided for us was great! We got to see the whole coast with a driver that told us about the whole area on the way. It was a great experience for the family.

My cousin did this excursion 3 years ago and spoke very highly about her experience so when we visited Jamaica this was a must to do on my list and she was right! This was just the best party cruise ever. The crew was fun, the snorkeling was great, the climb of the falls was very special, the whole experience was just great. I have no complaints and would do it all over again.

Uton once again was absolutely fantastic! He was friendly and was determined to ensure we had an enjoyable experience. We felt safe and taken care of and for 5 girls that was extremely important!

The excursion package we selected was great! Lots of variety and lots of fun for our whole group. I personally have done this exact excursion through the hotel two years ago (since we were only a party of two) and in comparison – Karandas provided us more comfort and flexibility. We didn’t feel like it was a drag or an inconvenience in any way. We got to pick and choose where we wanted to stop, take pictures, eat, shop etc.

Uton really made the experience comfortable, accommodating and customized to our needs.

We definitely prefer doing our excursions with Karandas Tours because of the private and personal experience. We were able to enjoy the day without waiting for others and making “what sometimes feels like” 100 stops along the way.

This is our second time booking with you and we have been utterly impressed with the customer service and professionalism from the management and drivers.

I believe our driver’s name was Mr. Rudy (please forgive me if I am incorrect, as we had a few drivers during our time in Jamaica). Mr. Rudy was nothing short of a pleasure to work with. He was fantastic, and I cannot emphasize that enough. He arrived at our resort in plenty enough time, and was kind enough to wait on other individuals in our party to arrive in the resort lobby (which we understand can be a frustration when given strict timelines). We had a very large travel group; 13 people total, 11 of which were originally scheduled to attend the tour. Prior to departure from the hotel, the final two individuals decided to also attend! Mr. Rudy was kind enough to make sure that the tour/excursion would be able to accompany them, and we were well on our way! The drive from Mo’Bay to Ocho Rios was beautiful and fun. One of the members of our group conversed with Mr. Rudy the entire time! We still arrived at the beach with time to spare prior to boarding the party boat. Everyone had a great time on the party boat, and the staff was phenomenal. Everyone was so kind, and fun. We had a great time. Those who snorkeled thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Boarding the boat was seamless each time, and there were always gentlemen present to help people on/off.

We all enjoyed climbing to the top of Dunn’s River (with no injuries!). The staff there were also very kind, helpful, and energetic, making for an even more enjoyable excursion.

I think our group had the most fun on the party cruise back to the beach. Once again, the staff were fun and energetic. We thoroughly enjoyed the rum punch and beef patties. Our group danced with the staff, laughed and joked, etc. I think we were all a little sad when it was over.

Mr. Rudy was there to pick us up once our excursion came to the end. We asked about local souvenir shops, and he was kind enough to take us to one so that everyone who wanted souvenirs could purchase them (everyone was able to get something they’d wanted). While on the way back to our resort in Montego Bay, our group realized that we would not make our 7:00 pm dinner reservation (this was our own fault as we should have made the reservation for 8:30 pm). Mr. Rudy kindly took us to Scotchie’s and waited for all 13 of us to get our food (which was amazing, by the way), and finally we were dropped back off at our resort for the night.

I would 100% recommend Karandas Tours Ltd. to anyone traveling to Jamaica. I know that there was a bit of back and forth initially between you and me with booking the trip, but I cannot stress enough how much I appreciate you all’s patience and swift, accurate responses to my emails and/or phone calls.

I look forward to booking excursions through Karandas Tours in the future! Thank you all for making our trip to Jamaica all the more memorable.

Our driver for to and from the Dunn’s River Excursion was wonderful. Sheldon was polite upon arrival, he greeted everyone with a smile and helped up on the bus. While driving to Ocho Rios from Montego Bay he pointed out different sites and gave us some back history on them. It was a nice ride. Sheldon made sure everyone had the water shoes that was required and even stopped at a store for the individuals that didn’t have any to buy some. The excursion was wonderful and lots of fun. On the way back to the hotel we stopped again to do some shopping in which he went in with everyone and guided us around. We felt safe and important. Dexter was our driver and he was great. He talked a lot about the area on the way to the excursion. He got us everywhere on time. The Cool Runnings trip was great and the entire group loved the boat, crew, snorkeling, and the falls.

Iron was our driver back. He was excellent. The whole family loved him. The Catamaran was the highlight for our whole Jamaica trip. The DJ, Party Girls, and Crew Members were extremely friendly and knew how to keep the party going. Everyone was dancing and having a fantastic time. Even our 73 year old grandma had a blast on the boat. Thanks for the experience!

The crew was very accommodating and entertaining.. Our kids loved dancing with the girls. The food was delicious. The guides helped at the FAlls for those who climbed and those who did the steps. Maureen asked if they overly asked for tips, but only at the end of the trip was it mentioned. They did try to sell shirts and hats but that was o.k. I cannot say enough about our driver! He was awesome! Very personable and knowledgeable gentleman. He was on time picking us up and share all kinds of information with us about Jamaica. He stayed by our side while we did some shopping and helped me purchase a ring. We were so glad we booked a driver and not a car for us. The drivers in Ochos Rios are CRAZY and our driver kept us safe and in one piece.

The catamaran to Dunn’s Falls and back was great. Marlin took great care of us! The music and people we amazing! We have already told everyone if they go to Jamaica to book this tour through you. We booked another tour through the Viator website and it was awful! Lesson learned there unfortunately.

For cancellations by Guests, cancellation charges depend on when Island Routes receives notice of the cancellation. Minimum cancellation charges are as follows:

Hotel Guests:

24 hours or less: No Refund

48 hours or less: 50% Cancellation Fee

96 hours or less: 25% Cancellation Fee

96+ hours: Full Refund

Shore Excursions:

96 hours or more: Full Refund

Less than 96 hours: No Refund

60 days prior to tour date: Full Refund

45 days prior to tour date: 50% Cancellation Fee

All cancellations of, or changes are subject to applicable restrictions. Island Routes Tours will apply any payments made toward the purchase price against any cancellation charges and will refund any balance remaining after the payment of any charges. Some tours are physically demanding and are not suitable for the infirm, individuals with heart condition, women who are pregnant or the physically challenged. Tour times and dates may vary based on volume or availability. To the exclusion of tours identified at www.islandroutes.com as being owned by Sunisland Routes and/or Island Routes Tours, there exists no relationship of master and servant or of agency between the Operators of tours and either Sunisland Routes and/or Island Routes Tours, or the hotel. Sunisland Routes and/or Island Routes Tours, and the hotel, do not operate the tours, and for these purposes, the Operators of tours are independent contractors. The Operators of tours are solely responsible for their acts and omissions and Sunisland Routes and/or Island Routes Tours, and the hotel, assume no responsibility for such acts and omissions, or for any injury, loss, damage, sickness or accidents sustained on any of the tours offered for sale , including but not limited to any that occur on and/or during the tour, as well as before and after as part of and/or during transport to/from the tour ‐ again, to the exclusion of tours identified as being owned by Sunisland Routes and/or Island Routes Tours. Without any exclusion, however, Sunisland Routes and/or Island Routes Tours, and the hotel, shall not assume any responsibility for injury, loss or damage to any person that voluntarily participates in cliff diving at any location, including but not limited to Dunn's River Falls or Rick's Café, and/or to any person who voluntarily stops as part of and/or during transport to/from a tour at an unintended destination, meaning one that is separate and apart from the scheduled tour and/or destination. Individuals proceeding in such manner assume any and all responsibility and risk, as this is not a recommended activity. Sunisland Routes and/or Island Routes Tours, and the hotel, in addition shall not assume any responsibility for the loss or damage to money, jewelry, clothing or other valuables that have not been tendered to Management for safe keeping. Please note, for your safety, Guest will not be allowed to participate in helicopter tours and/or transfers if they have undertaken any diving exercise within 24hrs prior to departure of said tour/transfer.

LIMITATION OF DAMAGES

Guest HEREBY ACKNOWLEDGES AND AGREES that Sunisland Routes and/or Island Routes Tours, and the hotel, their parent corporation, affiliates, subsidiaries, insurers, directors, officers, employees, successors, assigns, agents or representatives, SHALL NOT BE LIABLE to Guest for liabilities, claims, actions, damages, cost or expense in any circumstances, for: (A) ANY PERSONAL INJURIES OR PROPERTY DAMAGE ARISING OUT OF OR CAUSED BY ANY ACT OR OMISSION ON THE PART OF ANY Guest(s) and/or Operators of tours, excluding tours identified as being owned by Sunisland Routes and/or Island Routes Tours; (B) EMOTIONAL DISTRESS, MENTAL SUFFERING, OR PSYCHOLOGICAL INJURY OF ANY KIND; OR (C) ANY CONSEQUENTIAL, INCIDENTAL, PUNITIVE OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES. This specifically includes but is not limited to liabilities, claims, actions, damages, cost or expense ARISING OUT OF OR CAUSED BY food or drink consumed at third party facilities belonging to third party Operators of tours.

SPECIAL REQUESTS

Sunisland Routes and/or Island Routes Tours cannot guarantee that it will satisfy special requests and we are not responsible if such requests are not met.

PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES

Persons with Disabilities: Sunisland Routes and/or Island Routes Tours cannot guarantee that transfer vehicles or tour sites are wheelchair accessible. However, if informed, we will endeavor to make the necessary arrangements. This may however come at an additional cost.

VENUE AND CHOICE OF LAW

ALL CLAIMS WHATSOEVER AGAINST SUNISLAND ROUTES AND/OR ISLAND ROUTES TOURS, ITS AFFILIATES, PARENT COMPANY, SUBSIDIARIES, DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, OR CONTRACTORS, ARISING FROM, IN CONNECTION WITH, OR INCIDENTAL TO THE CONTRACT, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, ANY CLAIMS RELATING TO THE FORMATION, INTERPRETATION, CONSTRUCTION, WAIVER, MODIFICATION, PERFORMANCE, DISCHARGE, OR BREACH OF THE CONTRACT, OR THE EXISTENCE, EXTENT, OR BREACH OF ANY FIDUCIARY DUTY, OR ANY DUTY IN TORT OR PURSUANT TO ANY STATUTE, SHALL BE LITIGATED SOLELY AND EXCLUSIVELY IN THE COUNTRY IN WHICH THE EXCURSION AND/OR TOUR IS OPERATED, AND SHALL BE GOVERNED BY THE LAWS OF THE COUNTRY IN WHICH THE EXCURSION AND/OR TOUR IS OPERATED WITHOUT REGARD TO THE CHOICE OF LAW PRINCIPLES THEREOF.

USE OF GUEST'S LIKENESS

The undersigned Guest(s) irrevocably consents to and authorizes the use and reproduction by Sunisland Routes and/or Island Routes, or anyone authorized by Island Routes, of any and all photographic, video and other visual portrayal(s) of the undersigned Guest(s), their child or ward, for any purpose whatsoever, including but not limited to use in magazines, brochures, flyers, television, internet, and websites displays without further reference or compensation. All rights, title and interest therein (including all worldwide copyrights therein) shall be the sole property of Sunisland Routes and/or Island Routes, or anyone authorized by Island Routes, free from any claims by the undersigned Guest(s) and or any person deriving any rights or interest from such Guest, AND each undersigned Guest(s) UNDERSTANDS AND HEREBY KNOWINGLY AND VOLUNTARILY SO AGREES.

COMPLIANCE WITH LOCAL LAW

Guest is responsible for knowing, obeying and complying with the laws and regulations of their destination, and neither Sunisland Routes and/or Island Routes Tours, nor any Tour Supplier, nor the hotel, has any duty to inform or warn Guest about the destination's laws and/or regulations.

This agreement is governed by the laws of Jamaica. You hereby consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of courts in Jamaica, in all disputes arising out of or relating to the use of this Website. Use of this Website is unauthorized in any jurisdiction that does not give effect to all provisions of these terms and conditions, including, without limitation, this paragraph.

You agree that no joint venture, partnership, employment, or agency relationship exists between you and Island Routes Caribbean Adventures as a result of this agreement or use of this Web site.

Performance of this agreement by Island Routes Caribbean Adventures is subject to existing laws and legal process, and nothing contained in this agreement is in derogation of the right to comply with law enforcement requests or requirements relating to your use of this Website or information provided to or gathered by Island Routes Caribbean Adventures with respect to such use.

Once you’ve arrived, dig into our delectable Jamaican style buffet (complete with vegetarian options) before climbing aboard our state-of-the-art snorkeling catamaran. Relax, grab a complimentary refreshment, and enjoy the DJ’s selection of traditional island music as we journey out to sea. Keep those cameras handy as we sail past a host of scenic natural features and landmarks along Jamaica’s coastline, including the majestic Emerald Hills and a variety of waterfalls.
