ChesterBoat

Escape the hustle and bustle of the city, and let us sail you away along the River Dee: from the elegant waterfront on The Groves, past beautiful Georgian townhouses and manicured riverside gardens and into the green pastures of the Eaton Estate, home of the Duke of Westminster.

Open: Mon – Sun 11am – 5pm.

Address: Souters Lane, The Groves, Chester CH1 1SD.

Attraction Information

Picture yourself on a boat on a river….

Sailing’s our business: we’ve been welcoming guests on board for sightseeing cruises along Chester’s glorious River Dee for over 30 years.

We operate two types of daily sightseeing cruise:

Our delightful and restorative  30-minute City Cruise : sails past parks, meadows, and spectacular scenery along the River Dee; plenty to see and enough time for a relaxing drink from the bar. There’s at least one sailing an hour between 11am and 5pm each day, so you can often just walk up and step aboard, although we advise that you book online to guarantee a place – you can make great savings booking online too.

Our  Two-hour Iron Bridge Cruise  sets sail from our boat house on The Groves and heads out into the stunning Cheshire countryside. This is a wonderfully tranquil stretch of the Dee, where you might spot herons, kingfishers, dragonflies and other wildlife. We’ll pass by Heronbridge and the picturesque Eccleston Ferry, then meander around the Crook of Dee before passing under the famous Victorian iron bridge at Aldford before heading back to the city. We have two sailings a day, at noon and 2.30: perfect for a leisurely packed lunch.

Both cruises feature an informative audio commentary about the river, the city and their histories.

Combined Boat & Bus Ticket

Make the most out of your visit to Chester by combining your half-hour cruise with a City Sightseeing open top bus tour of the city. Add the bus upgrade to your basket at checkout, and save up to £5 per person compared to buying the cruise and bus tickets separately.

We’ve a range of family-friendly  themed boat trips  too: our monthly Fish and Chip cruise is a fantastic after-school Friday treat; join us for Curry and Quiz nights or enjoy an elegant Vintage Afternoon Tea afloat.

And when the sun goes down, we’re ready to party!  Step aboard for a night out with a difference. Our on-board DJ will play favourite floor fillers from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and beyond as you dance your way along the river. Just choose your theme – or your era! Party nights afloat are great fun for office parties, hen nights, birthdays, proms or any occasion where you want to have fun.   Find our full programme online  – and save cash by booking online too.

And if you’re after something a little more exclusive, your carriage awaits! You can  charter any of our three riverboats  for private parties, corporate events, weddings, civil partnerships, dining or even casino nights.

Our fleet of three comfortable, recently refurbished craft all have a well-stocked, licenced bar, with bottled beers, ciders and ales; wines and spirits; soft drinks; hot drinks and snacks. They all have enclosed, heated saloons for cooler days and you’re fully protected from the elements, whatever the weather.

Our beautiful riverboat The Lady Diana holds up to 120 guests; The Mark Twain, up to 70; and The Jackie – the baby of our fleet – boasts an open-top sundeck and can accommodate 40 people over two levels. The Lady Diana and the Mark Twain are both accessible for wheelchair users: see our  Access Statement  for detailed information.

Cheshire Boats is a traditional, family-run business, where our passengers come first. We do everything we can to make sure you have a wonderful time.  We sail all year-round; so whatever the weather, you’ll always be guaranteed a warm welcome.

See our website for all cruise experiences and prices.

Party Nights Afloat

Thu 22nd august, rock the boat with party nights afloat.

Step aboard and set sail with us for a night out with a difference. Choose your theme, choose your date, and sail back in time with us through your favourite eras in music, with the spectacular backdrop of the River Dee.

The key info…

When?  Party Nights Afloat cruises sail at 7.30pm sharp and return at 10.30pm. Boarding begins at 7.15pm. Scroll down to see the full list of dates.

What’s included?  Your ticket includes a hot buffet supper, a disco with professional DJ, and a glass of house wine on arrival.

Where?  All of our cruises sail from The Groves, Souters Lane, Chester, CH1 1SZ, right next to Hickory’s Smokehouse. We return to the same place.

How much?  Tickets are £36.50 per person when booking and paying in full online .

Can I pay a deposit? If you’d like to split the cost into a deposit and balance, the total ticket price is £38.50 and this needs to be paid in full 4 weeks before the cruise. You can’t do this online, so you’ll need to give us a call during office opening hours.

A few more important things…

  • • Tickets are not refundable once booked unless the event is cancelled by us.
  • • Party Nights Afloat are not suitable for under 18s, and we cannot accept stag group bookings. Fancy dress is very welcome onboard, but please note that we do not allow feather boas, confetti, or loose glitter.
  • • In the rare event that the boat is unable to sail due to weather or river conditions, the party will still take place on a stationary boat.
  • • We want everyone to have a safe and fun night. We reserve the right to refuse entry to ticketholders who are intoxicated or return early if we need to ask a passenger to leave.
  • • If you are making several separate bookings for one group, please choose one group name (eg. “Sarah’s Hen Party”) and enter this on the booking form, so we can make sure you’re all seated together.
  • • Please note that as this is an enclosed indoor space, we cannot allow smoking/vaping all the time. We usually allow a couple of smoking/vaping breaks through the evening in a designated space onboard but occasionally this is not possible. Please consider before booking whether you would be happy with this arrangement.
  • • Our house DJs stick broadly to the theme but will sometimes play tunes from other eras to get everyone up and dancing.
  • • We need to know at least 7 days in advance about any dietary requirements, including vegetarians. If you don’t know all of them when you complete the booking online, please get in touch nearer the time to confirm your needs.

See you onboard!

Moscow Vnukovo Private Jet Charter

Vnukovo Airport, officially known as Vnukovo Andrei Tupolev International Airport, is located in Vnukovo District, 28 kilometers from Moscow. The aerodrome is one of the four major airports serving Moscow, along with Domodedovo, Sheremetyevo and Zhukovsky.

In 2019, the airport managed to become one of the 10 busiest airports in Europe, hosting 24,01 million passengers, an increase of 12% compared to the previous year. Vnukovo, one of three airports in Moscow, is located 204 meters above sea level. Therefore, in the event of fog, it has often served as an alternative airport. It is almost the only airport used by private jet charter services in the region, especially in such adverse weather conditions.

The airport has two intersecting runways with a length of 3.500 meters (11.500 ft) and a length of 3.060 meters (10.040 ft). Each runway is 60 meters (200 ft) wide and has a 10 meters (33 ft) wide safety shoulder on either side. The common runway capacity is 60 aircraft movements per hour. Vnukovo Airport is equipped with a VIP lounge, which is used by many political leaders and important people visiting Russia. The President of Russia also uses Vnukovo’s VIP facility.

History of Vnukovo, Moscow’s oldest airport

Vnukovo, whose construction was approved in 1937 and opened in 1941, is Moscow’s oldest airport. It was opened and used for military operations during the World War II; and after the war it became a civilian facility. Vnukovo started to be used for official trips to the country after 1956, and important political figures of the period set foot in this airport for the first time in Russia.

On April 20, 1956, the first passenger flights from Moscow to Alma-Ata and from Moscow to Khabarovsk on April 24, 1961 were also made from Vnukovo Airport. In 1980, Vnukovo was expanded due to the 22nd Summer Olympic Games. Vnukovo Airport became a joint stock company in 1993.

After the opening of Terminal B in 2004, Aeroexpress railway connection was provided to the Kiyevsky Train terminal of Vnukovo in August 2005, and finally the new Terminal A building was put into service in 2010. Vnukovo is Europe’s busiest airport for international flights with larger private planes.

Places to visit in in Moscow

Moscow is one of the rare cities that can appeal to all kinds of tourists in terms of places to visit. The first must-see point of Moscow, which has been the capital of Russia since 1480, is the Moscow Metro, which has managed to preserve its historical structure. Since this metro is huge, it is a logical solution to visit it with 2-hour tour organizations.

Red Square, Kremlin Palace, Bolshoi Theatre, Pushkin Museum and Tverskaya Street are the first places that come to mind when it comes to Moscow other than the Metro.

The nightlife of Moscow, which stands out with its richness in terms of historical tourism, is also very colorful. Visitors to the city usually prefer nightclubs such as Krysha Mira, Garage, Icon, Fabrique, Gypsy Bar, Soho Rooms, Garage, Space Moscow, Solyanka, Old School Pub, Club Petrovich, which are the best venues in Moscow.

How far is it from Vnukovo to Domodedovo?

The journey from Vnukovo to Domodedovo is 56 km using the E101 highway and takes about 45 minutes. It is also possible to reach Moscow, which is located 30 km southwest of the airport, by using the E101.

It is possible to reach Moscow city center from the airport in 40 minutes by trains called Aeroexpress, which arrive every hour.
