Below Deck Adventure

Captain Kerry takes "Below Deck" on its greatest adventure yet -- the cold waters of Norway! Faye joins Mercury Yacht Mercury as chief stew with experience from all over the world as a former businesswoman, but when she finds out her team of stews know each other, she worries how their past will serve the interior. Wanderlust chef Jess has a big appetite for adventure, but the remote conditions of Norway limit her provisioning options as she sizes up the storage issues on the boat as well as her new chief stew. Bosun Lewis is excited for his new opportunity to lead a team with kindness, but he's worried his aversion to conflict will soon be tested. When it's time for Nathan to hand over his anchor-watch duties to deckhand Kyle, tensions rise and Kyle's cowboy ways leaves Nathan wondering if he will buck up or shut up.

The first adventure of the season sends the charter on a caving expedition, but it's Kyle who ends up digging himself into a hole by flirting with Kasie in front of guests.

Lewis warns Kyle that his bad behavior has Capt. Kerry on high alert. When the Mercury engines fail, Kerry has to rely on his young deck crew to execute a precarious docking.

As the Mercury team prepares for their next charter, Capt. Kerry notifies the crew he asked Kyle to resign.

After Jess burns herself, Capt. Kerry lends a hand to prepare a five-star picnic for the guests' excursion. Nathan becomes a standout in service, leading guests on an epic biking adventure down Trollstigen Road by day and serving shirtless by night. As Charter 2 ends, Lewis faces the pressure of being a man down for another charter. Faye is furious when she learns that second stew epaulets have been ordered for Oriana behind her back. A crew night off leads to something steamy in the hot tub.

After a steamy night in the hot tub, Lewis is met with fears of where his relationship with one of the stews will stand in the morning.

Since 2013, Below Deck has been captivating TV audiences across the globe by offering a voyeuristic peek into life on board multi-million dollar luxury charter yachts . Taking readers behind the scenes, YachtCharterFleet identifies the yachts featured on the show, as well as those which have appeared on the celebrated spin-off series Below Deck: Mediterranean , Below Deck: Sailing , Below Deck: Down Under and the latest iteration, Below Deck: Adventure .

Bravo’s hit reality TV series Below Deck chronicles the lives of crew members who work and reside aboard a luxury yacht during the charter season.

Each season features a different crew configuration, and the episodes show how the crew members interact and deal with personal issues alongside their working lives. The seasons are filmed over six weeks, with every episode featuring a new group of charter guests.

Getting even closer to these Below Deck superstars, we take a look at each of the stand-out features of every yacht that has appeared on the show.

Below Deck (US)

Many crew members are recurring on the show;  the longest-standing is Captain Lee Rosbach, who been on the show since 2013. A fan favourite, he has been at the helm of every yacht on Below Deck and seen a number of different crew formations.

The latest Below Deck season 10 is rumoured to be his final swan song, although his legacy on the show is such that whoever replaces him will have very big shoes to fill.

STARSHIP (aka MY SEANNA)

Below deck charter yacht MY SEANNA

Making an appearance on seasons 9, 8 and 6 of Below Deck , the majestic motor yacht STARSHIP (known on the show as MY SEANNA) is a yacht charter favorite.

The yacht has traveled far and wide for the show cruising to the jaw-droppingly beautiful St Kitts and Nevis in season 9, the sun-kissed Caribbean in season 8 and the  South Pacific  islands of  Tahiti in season 6.

Known for being among one of the most opulent yachts on the charter market due to her ornate interiors and glossy fittings that have been brushed in 22-carat gold, it is safe to say that this yacht is one of the most opulently styled and extensively equipped yachts on the water. Refitted in 2021, the Delta Marine yacht can accommodate 12 guests across 6 cabins and is extremely versatile for a variety of yacht charter party configurations.

The yacht traveled around Thailand in Season 7  where the crew and viewers were treated to a truly memorable South East Asian experience. From the iconic Phi Phi Islands to the beautiful beaches of Ko Yao Yai, there were plenty of fascinating landmarks to see on the way. Season 5 took viewers to the tranquil cruising grounds of  Saint Martin whilst season 4 saw M/Y BG in the glistening waters of the  Virgin Islands .

HONOR (aka BARENTS )

IONIAN PRINCESS

Ionain Princess season 1 Below Deck Mediterranean

Premiering on 3 May 2016, the very first season of Below Deck: Mediterranean , a spin-off of the increasingly popular franchise, took to viewers' screens. This time the ‘yachties’ took care of their guests onboard the motor yacht IONIAN PRINCESS  in the Mediterranean  destination of Greece .

The starring yacht IONIAN PRINCESS was delivered from Christensen in 2005 and was later refit in 2016 and again in 2021. Truly opulent, she bears interiors that are sleekly finished with a range of warmly toned woods and plenty of comfortable furnishings. She also boasts one of the largest sundecks for a yacht of her size.

Below Deck: Mediterranean Season 1 yacht IONIAN PRINCESS is not currently available for private yacht charter vacations.

Below Deck: Sailing Yacht

This is the first time the Below Deck franchise branched away from gleaming motor yachts, with the various weather issues that sailing yachts have to contend with adding even more drama and excitement.

The design of luxury sailing yachts  also creates far more confined crew areas than we are used to seeing on the original Below Deck . In general, sailing yachts tend to feature smaller galleys, compact stew stations and cramped crew quarters which are in closer proximity to the guests’ living areas, putting crew under increased pressure to deliver their signature silver service.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 3

In addition, deck crew are placed in a far more demanding role, with sailing yachts requiring increased accuracy and precision to safely maneuver and plenty of deck duties taking place in the midst of guest areas.

The Below Deck franchise has already explored the Mediterranean and Australia, and made clear how impossible it is to carry wine glasses on a sailing yacht. But Bravo's next yacht-vacation spinoff promises a different thrill. Below Deck Adventure heads north to the Fjords of Norway, where guests enjoy extreme activities. Helicopters! Rappelling! Cave-diving! "You fall in the water in the Bahamas, you just catch a tan," says one Adventure crewmate. "Here, you could get hypothermia and die."

EW is excited to exclusively announce that Below Deck Adventure will premiere on November 1 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo. (Each episode will stream the next day on Peacock). We're also unveiling the first trailer for Adventure , which introduces the crew of motor yacht Mercury. "My calling card's rock and roll," declares Captain Kerry Titheradge, "Let's have fun!" Then he jumps into the water. The accents veer all over the map. Heather Gay from The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is a guest. There is tension between the chef and the chief stew. There is action in the hot tub. And there is a conversation about the necessity of being flexible during bunk-bed coitus.

Here's the supertease:

And here's a look at the cast of Below Deck Adventure :

Captain Kerry Titheradge

Jess Condy, Chef

Faye Clarke, Chief Stew

Lewis Lupton, Bosun

Oriana Schneps, Stew

Kasie Faddah, Stew

Nathan Morely, Deckhand

Adventure caps a busy year for the Below Deck series. Below Deck Mediterranean is currently in its seventh season and was recently nominated for two Emmys. Below Deck Down Under is also airing on Bravo now after a summer run on Peacock.

You Can Rent The Below Deck Adventure Yacht Mercury For Yourself

But it will cost a pretty penny.

Captain Kerry Titheradge pilots the superyacht Mercury in 'Below Deck Adventure.'

Captain Kerry Titheradge and his crew head to the chilly fjords of Norway in Below Deck Adventure Season 1 . They will be sailing along the picturesque landscapes and through dangerously narrow passageways in a super yacht by the name of Mercury . Built in 2001 by Amels shipyard in Holland, the 164-foot motor yacht will travel to locations like the Valdall Caves and the seaside town of Andalsnes — all while navigating the icy and unpredictable waters of Norway.

Just as in past seasons, you can rent the Below Deck Adventure yacht . But it’s available for the tune of approximately $168,000 a week before expenses, and in high season can go up to around $183,000 a week. The yacht can fit up to 12 guests and 12 crew members, and it features five cabins: a master suite, two double cabins, and two twin cabins. Other amenities include a gym, a deck jacuzzi, two waterskis, kayaks, and fishing equipment.

Titheradge explained to TV Insider that Amels makes really sturdy yachts — but they do come with some downsides. “Amels yachts are built to go anywhere in the world. They are built in the arctic Overbuilt so the advantage of that is it’s strong. The disadvantage is it’s heavy and slow,” he said. “My engines are not as powerful as in a boat [ Below Deck Mediterranean captain] Sandy Yawn is running, which is a lighter boat with big engines that are more forgiving and use engine horsepower to get herself out of trouble. With my boat, you have to plan for things far ahead. It’s not going to stop straight away. You have to stop far ahead before you do something.”

Titheradge himself has nearly 30 years of sailing experience, so he’s more than ready to sail the Nordic seas. Joining him are chef Jess Condy , described by Bravo as a perfectionist who clashes with the other crew members when it’s clear there’s a lack of provisions in Alesund, Norway. There’s also chief stew Faye Clarke, who’s traveled the world for more than a decade but is tasked with the challenge of getting the whole team working together. Kasie Faddah is a stew from Seattle who left the Mormon church for the open seas, but she struggles to get along with everyone in her department. The other stew, Oriana Schneps, has a tense relationship with Faddah, who she worked with previously. Meanwhile, bosun Lewis Lupton has a brewing romance with Schneps, while deckhands Nathan Morely, Michael Gilman, and Kyle Dickard grow close and then clash when situations get heated and guest expectations aren’t met.

“Pretty much every staff member except for one was challenging. Everyone is coming from different places, backgrounds, and ages. They all have their own intentions, and we all have to find our own footing,” said Titheradge . “Understand a brand new boat in a totally new country. That puts pressure on everybody. For me, it’s understanding that everyone is human. Everyone gets a pass, but if you start taking my kindness for weakness, that’s when I change gears.”

It’s certainly a lot of drama on the high seas. And while you might not be able to afford to rent Mercury yourself, at least you can enjoy watching everything unfold on deck from the comfort of your living room.

Below Deck Adventure season 1: next episode, cast and everything we know about the new series

The new Below Deck spinoff takes the crew and guests into Norwegian waters.

Chef Jess Condy in the kitchen in Below Deck Adventure season 1

On Bravo, the network is anchored by the Real Housewives and the Below Deck franchises. Given the increasing popularity of the latter yachting shows —   Below Deck , Below Deck Mediterranean , Below Deck Down Under and Below Deck Sailing Yacht — it should come as no surprise that the brand new series Below Deck Adventure is set to sail.

Unlike its predecessors, Below Deck Adventure takes place along the Norwegian Fjords and shows more of the activities that guests participate in during their vacation moments not on the yacht. However, between the conflicting personalities of the crew and the at times outlandish behavior of guests, the drama that unfolds throughout the season will distinctly be reminiscent of the Below Deck brand.

Here’s everything we know about Below Deck Adventure season 1.

When is the next episode of Below Deck Adventure?

The next episode of Below Deck Adventure premieres on Tuesday, January 31, at 9 pm ET/PT. Here is the synopsis for the episode titled "The Long Fjord-Bye":

"After Kerry calls out her intimidating behavior, Jess makes a decision on whether or not to leave the Mercury. Faye faces her toughest test yet when she has to model the primary's dress at a photo shoot. Seth confronts Kasie."

What is Below Deck Adventure about?

Chef Jess Condy in Below Deck Adventure season 1

Here’s the official Bravo synopsis of Below Deck Adventure :

"Bravo takes viewers beyond the deck and off the yacht in the latest iteration of the Emmy Award-nominated franchise as passengers paraglide, explore caves and take extreme helicopter rides along the Norwegian Fjords. The series features thrill-seeking charter guests looking to push their limits for an unforgettable experience along the picturesque landscapes rich in Vikings history.

"This season on Below Deck Adventure , Capt. Kerry Titheradge, a skilled captain with decades of experience in waters all over the world, keeps the crew of motor yacht Mercury in line as they cruise through the dangerously narrow yet breathtaking fjords. He tasks his team to curate the ultimate experience for their guests with excursions as they explore the Valdall Caves and paraglide in Andalsnes — all within the unpredictable cold waters of Norway.

"Chef Jess Condy is a wanderlust who demands excellence; Chief Stew Faye Clarke left her high-power job in the business world to pursue yachting; Stews Oriana Schneps and Kasie Faddah, who arrive with some rocky history having previously worked together, vie for the position of second stewardess. Bosun Lewis Lupton and deckhands Nathan Morely, Michael Gilman and Kyle Dickard come together in this frigid-water region as some situations get heated when expectations aren't met and interpersonal conflicts come to a head while striving to please their guests. The yachties hit their fair share of stormy seas and come together to give the charter guests an experience of a lifetime."

The 181ft (55m) yacht was built by the American shipyard Trinity Yachts and features amenities such as a gym, a jacuzzi and 6 magnificent cabins. The perfect vessel to sail in style the waters of Northeastern Australia.

Keri Lee has a weekly charter rate that starts at AUD310,000 .

Northern Sun: the yacht in Below Deck Down Under Season 2

northern sun below deck down under season 2

Below Deck Down Under season 2 explored the coasts around Cairns, the gateway to access the great barrier reef and the Whitsunday Islands.

And it’s hard to imagine a better yacht than the Northern Sun motoryacht to explore this iconic area. The Northern Sun is a 50.8m (now yacht) that used to be a vessel dedicated for ice exploration. The refit work took two years but was clearly worth it when we look at the result displayed in this second season of the Australian Spin off.

Although the Northern Sun is built by the Japanese Narasaki shipyard, it surely is a boat that fits Australian waters quite well and could delight anyone looking to explore the most rugged locations in style, whether they are polar or tropical.

Northern Sun is available for charter from $161,700 / week . Her latest asking price was $15,000,000 .

Ranking Every ‘Below Deck’ Show From Most to Least Memorable: Mediterranean, Adventure and More

Ranking Below Deck s Spinoffs in OrderFrom Med to Adventure

Bravo’s Below Deck series has inspired several spinoffs — but not every one has left an impression.

Below Deck , which debuted on Bravo in 2013, introduced viewers to various crew members who reside and work on a superyacht during charter season. The original series quickly became a major success for the network, spawning spinoffs that include Below Deck Mediterranean, Below Deck Sailing Yacht, Below Deck Down Under and Below Deck Adventure .

The show has since become an example of Bravo’s rare all-year long programming with a Below Deck series airing new episodes at any given moment. While most of the cast has changed from season to season, viewers have gotten invested in some of the mainstays , which are usually the captains and the chief stews or bosuns.

However, not every show has stuck with fans the exact same way. Certain iterations didn’t last longer than a season while others have become more memorable than the OG Below Deck show.

1) ‘Below Deck Mediterranean’

'Below Deck Med' Guest Apologizes After Being Reprimanded by Captain Sandy and Getting Fan Backlash

When some of Us weren’t looking, Below Deck Mediterranean surprisingly became the backbone of the franchise that earned it first place on this list . A large part of that is Captain Sandy Yawn , who for better or for worse has gotten viewers reinvigorated about Below Deck . It takes a special kind of captain to not always make decisions everyone likes but that keeps fans coming back for more.

Sandy’s priority is being a good captain but somewhere along the way she became Below Deck gold. Everything else is just icing on the cake when Sandy is at the center of every season in the Mediterranean.

2) ‘Below Deck’

The original show paved the way for every other iteration to find its place on Bravo. Without Below Deck — and Captain Lee Rosbach — fans wouldn’t know just how compelling drama on the high seas can actually be.

One reason why Below Deck isn’t at the very top is tied to the show’s decision to fix what wasn’t broken. Captain Lee was the face of the franchise — so it wasn’t easy to say goodbye when he was replaced following a decade on Below Deck . The switch came several seasons after chief stew Kate Chastain left and it was too much change at once for some of Us .

Below Deck Sailing Yacht's Daisy Kelliher Hints at Falling Out With Colin MacRae Following Season 4 Hookup, Says He Has the 'Most' to Answer for at Reunion

Speaking of shows overshadowed by controversy, Below Deck Sailing Yacht had it all when it originally premiered on Bravo in 2020 . Paternity scandals, love triangles and Below Deck alums that overstayed their welcome by making the audience turn on them again.

Captain Glenn Shephard confidently steered Below Deck Sailing Yacht into a successful future but other factors ultimately got in the way.

First of all, Daisy Kelliher ‘s messy feelings for Colin Macrae and Gary King sounded like good reality TV on paper but it wasn’t as interesting on screen. The trio actually made it harder to come back around each week because it was exhausting to see them hash out their confusing issues.

Season 4 wrapped up with the promise of more episodes before Gary made headlines for his sexual misconduct scandal. He has maintained his innocence and no official statement has been given on the future of the show but Below Deck Sailing Yacht has yet to release any news about another season since the drama.

4) ‘Below Deck Down Under’

Laura Bileskalne Has 'No Regrets' About Being on 'Below Deck Down Under' After Consent Scandal

The spinoff set in Australia should have been a slam dunk with Bravo’s favorite hottie Captain Jason Chambers and fan-favorite chief stew Aesha Scott by his side. However, Below Deck Down Under initially struggled because it was premiering on Peacock instead of Bravo meaning viewers didn’t know to look for a new show.

Season 2 was what put Below Deck Down Under on the map but not for the reason anyone was hoping. A shocking consent scandal halfway through the season resulted in Luke Jones and Laura Bileskaline getting fired from the boat , which Below Deck Down Under was applauded for as new episodes continued to cover the aftermath.

Despite the fact that Jason and Aesha received praise for how they handled the situation , there has been no news about the show’s future. It is possible that the drama overshadowed the show itself — and not in a good way.

5) ‘below deck adventure’.

Ranking Below Deck s Spinoffs in OrderFrom Med to Adventure

The fourth spinoff was meant to be the most action-packed as guests signed up for thrill-seeking activities along the Norwegian Fjords. After premiering in November 2022, Below Deck Adventure failed to find an audience week to week and subsequently faded out of everyone’s mind.

Bravo never announced the show’s cancellation but it’s probably safe to assume that not many fans were asking for a status update. Instead, Captain Kerry Titheradge was moved to Below Deck and everyone forgot the first failed Below Deck spinoff series.

The Big Picture

  • Season 9 of Below Deck Med featured an incompetent crew making more errors than previous seasons, causing Captain Sandy to intervene.
  • Captain Sandy gave many opportunities to the crew even when they showed poor performance and clashing attitudes.
  • Captain Sandy ended her feud with ex-coworker Hannah Ferrier and made coincidental public appearances, raising suspicions of a likability-focused distraction.

The poor performance of the crew from Below Deck Mediterranean Season 9 may have caused Captain Sandy Yawn to focus on all the wrong yachting aspects to become more likable. Having inexperienced crew members on Below Deck is a common phenomenon , but the Season 9 staff seemed to have made more mistakes than any other previous cast members . Although Bosun Iain MacClean has over five years yachting experience, he struggled charter after charter with basic docking maneuvers. He also made questionable decisions that hindered Captain Sandy's ability to provide a smooth sailing vacation. While most of the deckhand team also showed poor judgment, so did the interior team.

This season, the interior team welcomed two new members and their lack of experience was evident. While the first stewardess, Aesha Scott, was on her A-game , the rest of the stews couldn't get along or launder the whites properly. Despite the poor performance and clashing attitudes, Captain Sandy gave second, third, and fourth chances. The season is clearly plummeting, with both the interior and exterior crews lacking, but off-screen, Captain Sandy is on damage control. Instead of admitting her own misdoings or acknowledging the lessons she needs to learn, it seems like she's trying to distract fans and viewers by seeming more likable in the public eye. Although many Captains and crew members try to connect with fans outside traditional reality TV methods, the timing of Captain Sandy's escapades is raising suspicions throughout the Below Deck franchise.

Below Deck Mediterranean

Not available

In a luxury charter yacht traveling across the Mediterranean, crew members face both the challenges of managing upscale guest expectations and the complexities of their own interrelationships. Each episode highlights the high-octane world of yachting where exceptional service standards meet personal drama and adventure.

Captain Sandy Gave Her Crew Many Chances

Inexperienced yachties, silly mistakes, and firings are expected in every Below Deck series . Some stars have the skills and knowledge or appeared on the franchise previously, so they often have the upper hand . However, the opposite could also be argued, which appeared to be the case for Captain Sandy and her Season 9 crew. The latest season of the Below Deck Mediterranean started rocky as Chef Johnathan Shillingford performed terribly in the beginning episodes. He neglected the preference sheets and created dishes not up to par with the seven-star service required for yachting. Bosun Iain was also an issue, since he had a habit of making tough calls without consulting the team of Captain Sandy. Then there are the issues between second stew Ellie Dubiach and third stew Bri Miller .

Unfortunately, though, their ability to put discrepancies aside and focus on work came to an end after they both were interested in the same deckhand, Joe Bradley . Despite being spoken to and warned, the women still butted heads, interfering with the charter season and causing Captain Sandy to step in and smooth over the situation . Compared to previous seasons , it's obvious that Captain Sandy is struggling with an incompetent crew that's affecting the charter and its guests. However, she also chooses to let situations get out of control and let the second hands figure it out for themselves before stepping in. As a result, Captain Sandy has received a lot of backlash this season; Captain Sandy, who's otherwise known for her stern demeanor, seemed to be giving way too many chances. The crew was suffering. The charters were suffering. And, as a result, so was the Captain's reputation.

Captain Sandy Ended Her Feud With Ex-Coworker Hannah Ferrier

Despite receiving multiple chances, Captain Sandy's crew still wasn't up to par. While Chef Jono seemed to find his stride and make up for his past mistakes, the same couldn't be said of the other crew members. Ellie and Bri were still at each other's throats, and Sandy reached her breaking point with Iain, finally cutting him loose from the team. However, her actions may have come too late in the season, forcing her to be creative off-screen. In real-time, Captain Sandy made amends with a previous crew member, Hannah Ferrier . Ferrier left the series Season 5 when Malia White discovered that the long-term Chief Stew had valium and a CBD pen on board without proof of a prescription.

However, when Captain Sandy learned about the drugs in her quarters, she made the controversial decision to fire the stewardess. Since then, the two have been on frigid terms, or at least that's how they appeared. According to Sandy, though, she never had any ill will towards any cast members. She claimed she "cared about Hannah" and that she hoped the stewardess was "listening." To show her sincerity, she even reached out to the stewardess to apologize. While Sandy's sentiments might be true, and she might have harbored no ill will towards Hannah, the timing of her apology is suspicious. With Sandy receiving backlash and poor performance reviews, her appeal seems like a tactic to distract viewers and appear more likable.

This Key Thing Separates ‘Below Deck’s Best Spin-Off From the Franchise

Not everyone has what it takes to be a yachtie.

Captain Sandy Is Making Public Appearances

Another sign of the Captain's potential damage control tactics is the recent public appearances she made. In the Captain's defense, she's always tried to maintain a positive spotlight in the public eye. Captain Sandy is a renowned public speaker, known to motivate women in male-dominated industries. She's also not a force to be reckoned with, as she's a huge advocate of not accepting no for an answer if it means accomplishing her goals. However, the Captain has gone above and beyond this year, making appearances at some of the world's most important gatherings . On Instagram , she shared a series of photos of her time at the Olympics.

She appeared to be having a lovely time “meeting new people” and could be seen with Chrissy Teigen , John Legend , and her wife, Leah Shafer . In a later post, the Captain could be seen walking through the opening ceremony with her wife and then afterward she showcased her collaboration Q&A with the Olympics. Although Sandy is a renowned public speaker and figure, the timing of these posts and collaborations is a little suspicious. With the rumors swirling around about her crew's poor performance, the posts appear to be a common "smoke and mirror" tactic . Instead of letting viewers soak up the drama from the season, the Captain is trying to turn the viewers' attention to current-day affairs.

In the end, these instances may all be coincidences. The Captain is known for marching to the beat of her own drum and doesn't usually care about how the public perceives her — as long as she stays true to herself. Considering the Olympics schedule was set in stone before the Below Deck season aired, this suggests that the timing was probably a coincidence. Furthermore, the Captain and Hannah developed a solid relationship in their earlier seasons, so it's possible that Sandy genuinely felt bad about their falling out. Additionally, even if these are smoke and mirror tactics, the truth is that it wouldn't work because a true fan would still do a deep dive to get the answers they desire. However, it still cannot be denied the timing of squashing the feud she had with a previous worker and the public appearance at the Olympics is suspicious , and she might be focused on the wrong things after a particularly grueling season.
