In 1978, sailor, Winfried Hermann, recognized a perfect space and, his next step was to open and establish a shipyard for sailing yachts there. His idea here was to produce industrial yachts, offer them at rock-bottom prices and give many customers the back drop to purchase their dream yacht for themselves.

It wasn’t til 2001 til they began to build motorboats. Right out of the gate, like the sailing yachts, they were an instant success. These boats were quality; built with a nice price-performance ratio —which helped them to gain popularity.

In 2010, standards for a yacht were raised and shoppers were now looking for something fast, safe, built to the highest standards and with all the amenities a modern vacation home would possess. The construction of a Bavaria yacht grew much more complicated leading to the now 600 employees of Bavaria Yachts based in Giebelstadt with a hefty production roll out of over 1000 sailing yachts and motorboats.

To ensure the best quality products, they secured market leaders in their fields. One will come to be quite impressed by its equipment and accessories. Think modern and innovative in it’s productions and you’ll have nailed it to be Bavaria yacht. One tidbit you may not have known, but Bavaria Yachts is the first shipyard in the history of yacht building! Each wooden part of a Bavaria yacht is painted up to six times on its own painting line.

What sets Bavaria Yachts apart? The people in the shipyard who offer up their all to reach new standards. Yes, these employees put all their experience, all their skills and all their passion into a product that deserves to bear it’s name.

Each ship has a special look and feeling and they work with the best designers and engineers in the world to ensure not only a unique and stylish exterior but also the interior. The joy of yachting. Yes, it can be achieved in just a few steps when choosing to go with a Bavaria!

They didn’t forget an important part of this successfully equation but pride themselves on each ship’s seaworthiness. This along with a high-sided hull ensures that a smooth ride is guaranteed. There is an R-/S-Line or VIRTESS so one will not only drive safely, but will feel secure when moving around on the boat thanks to broad gunwales and a railing that extends from bow to stern. Another plus in choosing a Bavaria is their use of isophthalic acid (IPA) resins in the outer layers. This is used during the laminating process and ensures that the hull of a Bavaria is of top quality. It also offers perfectly effective protection against osmosis and promoting longevity of the Bavaria.

Last February, 2019, Michael Müller was appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and became the leader for the activities of the whole group, including Bavaria Yachtbau GmbH in Germany and Nautitech Catamarans SAS in France. This position went from vacant to a full house. Dr Ralph Kudla of CMP Capital Management Partners, represents and advises the investing equity fund, who has been delegated to the Board of Management and is now also responsible for finance and controlling of Bavaria Yachts as the Chief Restructuring Officer (CRO), explains: “In the few weeks with Michael Müller on board we have learned how effective he is and how well he has been received by employees and dealers. This is why we have asked him to take on the role of CEO.”

The experienced manager collaborated successfully before with the CMP team on other projects. Graduate engineer Michael Müller is 62 years old and has worked for brand manufacturers throughout his career. “I bring in my experience working for leading brands and I intend to reinforce the position of Bavaria Yachts as a quality manufacturer of modern sailing and motor yachts. At the moment the whole team is focused on preparing for the 2020 delivery season. They promise to meet their quality pledge as well as their promised delivery dates, so that the boats on order get into the water for the spring. In addition, we are continuously incorporating technological improvements into the production lines in Giebelstadt.” For that purpose, the management team has been strengthened by the addition of two experienced product managers: Pascal Kuhn for sailing yachts and Siep Keizer for motor yachts. Both report directly to Erik Appel, the Managing Director responsible for production.

Bavaria will knock your socks off, so add her to the consideration list for sure! She won’t disappoint.

Bavaria 30 Plus : Used boat test of the pocket-sized family yacht

Alexander Worms

 ·  19.09.2024

Unperturbed even by gusts of seven: the Bavaria during the test in Friesland

Used boat profile

Also good: three alternatives at a glance, model history and market, the measured values for testing the bavaria 30 plus, the bavaria 30 plus in detail, price and shipyard, yacht rating of the bavaria 30 plus, keep your eyes open when buying bavaria, video of the bavaria 30 plus.

Admittedly: Starting the test of a Bavaria with a story about a Dehler may seem strange. In this case, however, it makes perfect sense. After all, in 1992 Dehler was the largest German shipyard and therefore the market leader.

The Duetta 94 was now called the Dehler 31 and had the option of a wheel in the cockpit in addition to the tiller. And two separate cabins below deck with a total of four fixed berths. She also sailed sportily, and the shipyard had acquired a certain pedigree in terms of the sailing characteristics of the yachts through various successes on the regatta circuit. If Bavaria wanted to be a new shipyard in the country, it had to produce something sporty that also had all the characteristics of a typical yacht. At the same time, it had to remain affordable and easy to handle, as they also knew in Giebelstadt.

It was no easy task for Bavaria to assert itself against the top dog Dehler. Until then, the German designer Axel Mohnhaupt had designed the Bavarias. The well-known designs included the 300, 320, 340 and 350. The entry-level model at the time was the 30, which was then supplemented by the 30 Plus in the programme.

At the same time, this was no longer drawn by Mohnhaupt, but by the Slovenians from J&J Design, who milled the so-called plug, i.e. the positive mould, and were able to produce the moulds for the lamination work on top of it. This was both practical and cost-effective. And J&J drew quick designs that were easy to build with comparatively few labour hours. The ship was given a rather sporty 7/8 rig and was somewhat narrower and lighter than the old 300, but also larger and more expensive than the 30 offered at the same time without the "Plus" suffix.

The 30 cost around 90,000 marks, while the 30 Plus was offered from 124,000 marks. It was longer and had two separate compartments. The foredeck of the normal 30 was open to the saloon. In order to compete with the Dehler 31, a version with a steering wheel was offered. Bavaria thought it was well positioned to at least annoy the competition from Sauerland. It is impossible to say today whether this was successful, as Bavaria does not know how many 30 Plus were built; at the time, no value was placed on such numbers. However, the 30 Plus probably doesn't come close to the 500 or so Dehler 31s that were built. A look at the marinas shows this, as it is rarely represented there. A pity, because the package is actually a good one.

Everything there - in small

There was a choice of draught between 1.05 and 1.45 metres. Furthermore, the 9.25 metre hull length was to accommodate everything that belongs on a yacht: two cabins, saloon, galley, navigation table and wet room. To anticipate this: This only worked out reasonably well. Everything is there, yes - but everything is a bit too small. A few examples: The headroom under the companionway is just 1.76 metres, and the height above the inner aft berth is only 25 centimetres. However, this is also only 1.80 metres long, and the three doors are each only 36 centimetres wide.

This quickly makes claustrophobic people feel uneasy. Wearing a lifejacket in the wet room? Impossible. In short: the ship looks like a version of a yacht that has been washed too hot. That may sound harsh, but anyone interested in such a Bavaria must realise that the important comfort dimensions are small. If you are not a tall person, this may well be enough, but if you are over 1.75 metres tall, it will be uncomfortable below deck.

There are several used boats around 30 feet that cost around 35,000 euros. We briefly present three of them:

  • Winner 9.50

Dehler 31: As Duetta 94, Dehler 31 and 32 manufactured around 1000 times and therefore readily available second-hand. Also on the market with a tiller and with an open or separate aft chamber. Good sailor, reliable spare parts supply, solid construction

However, in harbours where the boat is allowed to protrude slightly beyond the box, the Bavaria fits into a convenient nine by three metre berth. What's more, the galley, sat nav and wet room work perfectly, everything is there. And pleasingly well finished. Lots of solid wood and lavish panelling testify to a very high standard of quality. At the time, Dehler was dominated by deep-drawn plastic below deck. The Bavaria 30 Plus, on the other hand, has a very ship-like appearance.

There is storage space wherever possible, and there are several cupboards. Unfortunately, the hatches in the galley open upwards, making it difficult to see inside. However, this is not necessary, as the contents fall out readily when you open them. The owner of the test boat is not bothered by any of this: "We were looking for a safe and handy boat for our family. The four of us enjoy relaxed family holidays on board. And the shallow draught of one metre is ideal, as we prefer to stay indoors in Friesland with the children while they are still small."

Safe despite high winds

The Bavaria, which sailed on the waters around Berlin before coming to the Netherlands, has probably rarely experienced conditions like those on the test day: a full 6 Beaufort, gusting up to 7. The waves are small on inland waters, but the gusts are all the more violent. And that's where the shallower draught really makes itself felt: If a pusher hits the rig, the Bavaria heels away immediately. The rudder pressure increases slightly, but it was never enough for a sun shot. On the contrary: it would have felt like there was more sail area, but in a used boat test it is never clear how old the rigging and the sails really are. In this respect, don't overdo it and ruin the owner's boat.

Better sailing with a tiller

The impression that the Bavaria leaves behind is good despite its short keel: although it lays down quite a bit on the cheek, partly due to the rather blown-out sails, it then sets off nicely. After all, three tonnes of weight is not a lot. She remains easy to control at the helm. Thanks to the 7/8 rig, the backstay can be used to take out a lot of pressure. With one hand on the mainsheet to release it quickly if necessary, everything feels very safe and controlled. While the mainsail can be operated by the helmsman behind the wheel using a curry cleat on the coachroof, the headsheets are out of reach.

It is therefore only really suitable for single-handed sailing with a tiller, because then the helmsman can also drive the foresail. The tiller is the better choice anyway, as the space behind the wheel is very tight. It is impossible to find a comfortable steering position. In addition, a tiller would simply be folded up in the harbour and would therefore be out of the way. But the steering column remains. And somehow gets in the way. The raised seating position aft in the centre is of little help when steering - from there, only sitting giants can see over the sprayhood. The wide coaming, on the other hand, would undoubtedly offer sensible sailing positions with the tiller boom in hand.

However, an important safety aspect is that you never have to leave the cockpit, everything is redirected there. This makes it difficult to operate at times, but that is only a question of higher-quality fittings. What is annoying, however, is the sprayhood. It gets in the way of both the winches on the coachroof and those on the coaming, resulting in ratchet-like back and forth movements. The sail areas are manageable, so this is perfectly feasible, but a free turn of the crank for the foresheet speeds up manoeuvres enormously. In view of the special conditions, the Bavaria 30 Plus makes a solid impression under sail. At no time, not even in the strong gusts, does a feeling of insecurity arise. You are and remain in control of the situation. At the same time, the boat starts up immediately and provides a lot of sailing pleasure. That's fine. A model with a deep keel is certainly even more fun. You definitely want to try it out. And here's a tip for the boat: if you can afford it in terms of sailing area, you should choose the version with a deep fin, which will certainly reduce the drift on the wind considerably.

Good substance, few flaws

Bavarias are basically solidly built, and the 30 Plus is no exception. However, there are weaknesses in some areas. For example, hairline cracks were frequently visible in the gelcoat on the deck of the test boat, particularly in the area of the railing feet. The foot railing, which is bolted through the hull and deck, is also prone to leaks. The aft end fittings appear to be particularly sensitive points. The test boat also showed slight water ingress in the aft chamber. The mast base and the feed-through of the inboard jetties also appear to be susceptible to leaks, as can be read in the forums of the owners' clubs. However, the jetties are very solidly connected to the hull further down. So the stability is not in question, it's just about the tightness of the deck.

However, the cracks in the area of the rear keel bolt on the test ship are critical. Here, a flange surface of the strongback to the hull is cracked. However, the damage is by no means typical for this type of boat; it can occur in any boat with a bolted keel.

If you can live with the rather small comfort dimensions, you will find a fully-fledged yacht that sails safely and agilely and is well finished. The stainless steel parts on and below deck, for example, are remarkably generously dimensioned. The woodwork is also solid. This undoubtedly also applies to the deck and hull. Leakages that occur after almost thirty years can all be managed with a little craftsmanship.

The Bavaria 30 Plus was built from January 1993 to December 1996. There were no model versions, only the difference between the deep and the shallow keel and with tiller or wheel. Yanmar or Volvo engines were installed. The Volvo MD 2020 had dual-circuit cooling and three cylinders, while the Yanmar two-cylinder engine was directly cooled. Although dual cooling circuits mean a longer service life, the Yanmar can also function for a long time without any problems and is considered to be extremely robust. Depending on the equipment, berth and age, a Bavaria 30 Plus currently costs between 30,000 and 40,000 euros. Due to the width of less than three metres, transport from the Mediterranean, for example, is not too expensive. Bavarias are in demand second-hand, so don't hesitate.

Bavaria C46 review: Space and performance

  • Theo Stocker
  • January 30, 2024

Massive bow sections create a huge amounts of space on board, and in theory, a powerful hull to give lively sailing. Theo Stocker sails the Bavaria C46 to see if the reality matches up

Product Overview

Manufacturer:, price as reviewed:.

There’s no denying that the Bavaria C46 is a beast of a boat. Bluff bowed, big and powerful, she has more volume than almost any boat her size. In some ways, it’s no surprise as this is the direction boat design has been going for years, underlined by Bavaria’s motto of ‘Further and more’.

In the Bavaria C46, then, we’ve certainly got the ‘more’, but the question I was keen to answer when I headed down to Hamble one beautifully blustery autumn day was whether this boat also has the ‘further’. Has she sacrificed sailing ability for her size, or have Bavaria pulled off the trick of also making her a better sailing boat?

Alongside the continuing move to ever greater volume, there has been a more recent and more subtle shift in naval architecture – one that explains why bows are also getting fatter. It’s not just a grab for accommodation space, though they help of course, but a bluff bow also helps make a beamy boat more balanced to sail.

Much like the development of scow bows trickling down from development race classes such as Mini Transats and IMOCAs, ultra wide and flat-sectioned hulls offered steroid-boosted amounts of righting moment and power, allowing them to ditch a whole load of ballast. But if you don’t want your flying saucer to nose-dive, you need to inject some volume hormones up forward as well.

Twin composite wheels drive a single rudder. Photo: Paul Wyeth

As the hull heels, the canoe body remains more closely symmetrical, so requiring less rudder-power to keep the boat on the straight and narrow, where earlier designs became unbalanced wedges with a tendency to aerate their rudders and spin up into the wind. Funnily enough, the lines of Thames barges, Dutch skûtjes and Yankee catboats have long proven that powerful hulls don’t need to be narrow and pointy even for heavy displacements.

Best of both worlds

It is a convenient truth that the wide transoms and broad bow sections also lend themselves quite nicely to the high volumes demanded of cruising boats these days. D

Designers have found that you can, in many ways, have the best of both sailing performance and cruising comfort. The critical factor in a race boat is keeping the displacement light enough to let the boat get up on the plane. That’s not going to happen with an out-and-out cruiser, so I was keen to see if the hull concept still works on cruising boats.

The Bavaria C46 joins the Bavaria C38 and the Bavaria C42 as the second generation of C-line from Bavaria from Cossutti Yacht Design, distinguishable from the first generation (C45, C50, C57 and C65) by their bluff stems, beamier bows and hard hull chines up forward. The slick styling and angular coachroof and windows otherwise remain much the same.

Below decks, accommodation benefits from the extra space of the new hull shape. Remarkably, given many other builder’s rush to twin rudders, Bavaria have stuck with a single rudder, both for simplicity of construction (and with it, cost), as well as a more direct helming experience. One less visible element that has changed, however, is the ballast.

Our test Bavaria C46 had a ballast-displacement ratio of just 20%, compared to the C45’s 26%, losing half a tonne from the keel while adding almost a tonne to her displacement, all against an approximately similar sail area. Either Cossutti have got their sums very wrong, or this new hull shape really does makes a difference to the form stability of the boat.

I was pleased to find we would have a decent, if blustery breeze from the WNW blowing Force 4 to 5 for most of the day, as cumulus clouds scudded overhead, casting cool autumnal shadows amidst the stubbornly warm sunshine. It was hard to decide whether to wear a t-shirt and shorts, or full foulies.

The most boat for your money? Bavaria C38 yacht test

Competition is hot for high-volume cruisers, but have Bavaria built a boat that is fun to sail as well as…

Clear of the shelter of Southampton Water and out in the Solent, we were hardening up onto the wind, beating in 15-21 knots of true wind (Force 4 to 5), with 18 to 25 knots across the deck. Under full canvas, we were soon sitting in the mid sixes, with 6.2-6.7 through the water at 30-35º to the apparent.

Steering from the twin composite wheels felt controlled and assured, even when deliberately overpressing the boat in the gusts. It was only under real duress that the boat began to round up to the wind, and slowly at that, giving plenty of warning that the mainsheet needed easing, which quickly returned the boat to a steady course.

In normal sailing, there was little weather helm, and the steering was precise and direct. My only gripe was that the rudder felt a little heavy, though whether this was due to the balance of the rudder, some other issue, or simply a fact of the boat’s 13 tonnes displacement, I wasn’t sure. She was otherwise without foible, responding obediently to the helm.

Tick the option and you’ll get a grill and a fridge under the aft helm seats. Photo: Paul Wyeth

With a bifurcated backstay and mechanical tensioner, it was pleasing to note that adjusting the backstay did make a difference to the feel on the helm, helping balance it and increasing forestay tension in the breeze – it’s a nice bit of control that you don’t get on backstayless rigs.

In the conditions we had, it felt like we had a good amount of power from the self-tacking jib and vertically battened Elvstrom furling main (slab reefing is standard). We even needed to tuck a furl into both sails as the wind crept up to a steady Force 5 true. Having tested the performance version of the C38 a couple of years ago, with its roached, fully battened slab-reef main, this furling main C46 actually felt like a better-balanced sail plan.

The larger performance main was just a bit too much for the deck gear on the C38, at least in windy conditions, and I found myself enjoying the ease of sailing on the C46 more. The 4:1 mainsheet purchase uses blocks either side of the companionway, and there’s no traveller, which makes it harder to centre the boom sailing upwind, costing a few degrees of pointing.

A proper bridle here might be a better system, but at 35º to the apparent, few cruising sailors are going to lose any sleep over it.

bavaria yachts pris

A 106% genoa is an alternative to the self-tacking jib. Photo: Paul Wyeth

The deck layout benefits from the boat’s significant beam, with loads of space to move about and relax as well as sail. As with most twin-wheel boats, the helms are right aft and outboard, but still feel secure thanks to broad side decks taken all the way aft and generous transom seats, which house either more stowage, or a fridge and grill for use in harbour.

With no dinghy garage, I’d imagine the optional retractable dinghy davits will be popular, though fold down the bathing platform and you’ll find a cubby hole big enough for a folded up dinghy or paddleboard, and a built-in air compressor to blow it up. There’s further stowage in a plywood-lined lazarette between the helm seats, plus sole-depth lockers beneath the cockpit seats.

Simple sail handling

All lines, including sheets and halyards, are led aft to two powered winches outboard of the wheel, with push-button control next to the rope bins just aft of them (also home to a gas bottle locker either side). This makes singlehanding the boat extremely easy.

bavaria yachts pris

Lift-up foot chocks help the helm feel secure. Photo: Paul Wyeth

The only niggle is that it all gets rather busy for the helm if you’re steering, adjusting the main and the headsail at the same time, so it was easier for the helm to move to the other wheel while a crew member came behind the wheel to handle the lines. The only exception to this is the extra set of primary winches on the cockpit coamings if you opt for the 106% overlapping genoa.

All this leaves those in the cockpit to relax without having to lift so much as a finger, other than to sip their drinks. In fact, we didn’t pick up a winch handle for the whole test sail, and tacking with the self-tacking jib was effortless.

With L-shaped seats, there’s plenty of space to sit back, while split cockpit tables provide bracing for each side.

bavaria yachts pris

The pedestals have been redesigned, giving space for 12in B&G plotters, as well as an electronic throttle, thruster controls and all the other modern gizmos like stereos and phone chargers. Best, though, was the side panel which housed an extra repeater and autopilot controls so you can still see the numbers when helming sitting down without needing to stand up. It’s clear Bavaria has worked hard to make the Bavaria C46 a more user-friendly boat.

Step over the low coamings and you’re onto the side decks inside deep moulded bulwarks. It wasn’t a rough edge exactly, as it was very neatly done, but I did wonder about the wide bonding join between deck and hull moulding atop the bulwarks – it would have been nice if this had been a little better hidden.

Otherwise, Selden deck gear was all of a decent size and spec, with coachroof-mounted genoa car tracks, grab rails from forward of the sprayhood to the shrouds, loads of opening hatches and a large single forepeak for fenders and offwind sails, through which you get access to the chain locker. The windlass is mounted on deck, with a control unit stowed inside the forepeak, and the anchor stows under the chunky moulded bowsprit with tack points for Code Zero and gennaker.

bavaria yachts pris

This level of space and comfort in a boat that is enjoyable to sail is a real achievement. Photo: Paul Wyeth

Construction is the tried-and-tested Bavaria method, with all laminates laid up by hand, a moulded keel grid bonded into the hull, and deck and hull bonded together. We didn’t have big seas, but things seemed quiet down below even when sailing hard, and it was also noticeable that the boat didn’t slam as it took on the wind-against-tide Solent chop.

Heading below, there is a ridiculous amount of space, allowing Bavaria to offer a large number of standard layout options of three, four or five cabins, sleeping up to 12 on board if you include the saloon.

Our test boat was the four-cabin version, each with its own ensuite heads, which will be popular with charter companies. The starboard aft heads can also be a Pullman bunk cabin for an extra two beds, or the port heads can become a utility space.

In our layout, the forward cabin is split into two. They’re not huge cabins, but perfectly comfortable, especially as they are ensuite. Most owners will, however, probably go for the single cabin forwards, which gives a palatial amount of space with a massive island berth, and comes all the way aft to the mast support, with the option of split shower and toilet compartments.

Whatever you opt for, all berths are over 2m long and the narrowest is 147cm wide at the head end, even if they narrow towards the feet. Furthermore, there’s never less than 193cm of headroom throughout thanks to the high topsides. In the saloon, the C-shaped seating takes pride of place to starboard with a large single-piece dining table, around which you’ll easily fit eight or more for dinner. One neat touch was the sliding box seat which can be tucked under the table or pulled out, and can be secured for sea with a screw-knob at each end.

The galley is bestowed with a large drawer fridge as well as top-opening fridge/freezer. Overhead lockers provide lots of stowage and there’s an air filter above the hob. Photo: Paul Wyeth

Light and airy spaces

To port, Bavaria have gone back to a proper chart table (huzzah!), raised above the level of the galley for imperious views and loads of space, while the galley is a large L-shaped arrangement forwards. You’ll want a bum-strap if cooking underway as there’s nothing to brace against on port tack, but in harbour you’ve got all the creature comforts of massive fridges, lots of stowage, including a fiddled shelf outboard of the work surface, and even a cooking fumes filter (not a full extractor), which folds out above the hob.

With multiple opening hatches, big coachroof windows and four hull windows along each side of the boat, there’s no shortage of light or air below. Bavaria have worked hard to raise the level of finish on this boat, and while many of the features are on the options list, leather covers for stainless steel handrails, fabric bulkhead detailing, and proper hull and deckhead linings all make this boat feel more luxurious.

There are grab holds where you need them on the whole, including at the companionaway, on the inboard end of the galley, and a central grab rail along the deckhead to help traverse open spaces when underway. Solid wood edges and corners have been used on all the joinery, which will help protect veneers from knocks and bumps in years to come.

There’s oodles of stowage below the seating in the saloon, in the bench seat and in overhead lockers on either side. Tankage is reasonable too, with up to nearly 800 litres of water (554 litres is standard) and 245 litres of fuel – more than enough to keep the Yanmar 50hp (or optional 80hp) ticking along nicely for a while. Of course, if you run the generator or air-conditioning, which this boat is fitted with, you’ll get through it slightly quicker, but there’s plenty of water for showers for everyone.

Access to the engine is pretty good, though with the genset on this boat mounted on a steel frame above the engine, things in the engine compartment are fairly cosy.

Bavaria have done a good job with this boat. The concept of high-volume, extra comfortable cruising platform works well, and the C46 has the muscle to back up the volume. The finishing touches on our test boat made this feel like a place you’d enjoy spending time. When I was poking around on board I was impressed with the quality and level of finish to which this boat was put together. You’d hope so, given that you can easily spend well over half a million pounds by the time you’ve finished with the options list, though for a standard UK spec you’ll be about on par with a Dehler 46SQ and Hanse 460 for price.

The new BAVARIA SR33 – The latest premiere of the successful SR-LINE

published on September 30th 2022 With the BAVARIA SR33, BAVARIA YACHTS is announcing another model of their successful SR-LINE, following the SR41 and the SR36, for the 2023 season.

As with all motor yachts in the BAVARIA SR-LINE, the focus during development was on creating space for life on deck. Below deck, the BAVARIA SR33 also impresses with a well-thought-out room layout, providing generous space for four people.

After the BAVARIA SR41 and the BAVARIA SR36, the BAVARIA SR33 is the newest member of the BAVARIA SR-LINE , which clearly follows the design philosophy of the SR-LINE. The development team at BAVARIA YACHTS has thought of plenty of clever solutions to meet all the demands family & friends crews might have. On board the BAVARIA SR33, individual relaxation, sociable hours at sea and yachting fun in general each have their own space. That makes the BAVARIA SR33 the ideal yacht for individual requirements.

Simply enjoying the sun and time with the family. The bow with its generous sunbed is the perfect place to relax , with the comfortable upholstery stretching across the entire surface of the structure, including useful cupholders for refreshments.

Spending time as a couple or with friends is the focus in the cockpit. Breakfast, dinner, or a small snack are quickly prepared at the large wet bar including a cooking plate, fridge and sink, and can be served directly at the large cockpit table. Flexible thanks to the fold-down backrest of the sunbed at the stern, there is space for up to six people.

Whatever you would like to do, the sunbed at the stern fulfils several functions, as is typical for the SR-LINE. It is a sunbed, a bench seat for the cockpit table, storage space or, with the optional lowerable table, transforms into a beach terrace right near the water. And from the integrated bathing platform, the sea is just a hop away.

Experiencing power and freedom together was the development team’s goal when designing the helmstand. Thanks to the construction of the hardtop with robust, stainless-steel struts at the stern and large window areas, there is almost an unobstructed 360° view . From the lounge area portside, you have the best view ahead and can enjoy the sun and the wind through the large sunroof together with the helmsman.

Below deck, the BAVARIA SR33’s concept offers plenty of light, plenty of space, four sleeping berths, a cabin and a large salon. The salon and the large bed in the bow merge to become a generous, loft-like room. During the day, the BAVARIA SR33’s open room design with large hull windows and skylight provide light and a pleasant sense of space, no matter the weather. And if all guests would like to stay overnight, the salon table can be lowered to provide a further sleeping berth, so nothing gets in the way of cosy hours below deck, even for six people.

A double bed with the dream dimensions of 2.00 x 1.60 meters and a comfortable couch turn the cabin amidships into your personal suite after a long day at sea. Plenty of storage space for shorts and shirts for you and your partner are a given with BAVARIA YACHTS.

Spacious with a separate shower, a free-standing washbasin and classy fittings , the bathroom is not just functional, but also a place where you feel at ease.

As with the sister ships in the SR-LINE, the BAVARIA SR33’s design and lines come from the famous Italian yacht designer Marco Casali and his team. The concept, layout and engineering are, of course, from BAVARIA’s experienced development team. The 11.40 m long and 3.46 m wide hull was optimised for rapid, safe handling characteristics by the experts from the naval architecture office Micad. Double engines from Volvo Penta and Mercruiser of 500 to 700 HP, as well as a single drive of 380 HP from Volvo Penta, provide powerful yet economical propulsion.

The BAVARIA SR36 was just nominated for the 2023 European Powerboat of the Year and the 2023 Best of Boats awards. The BAVARIA SR41 was already crowned 2022 Powerboat of the Year in England. With the BAVARIA SR33, another member with award potential is joining the BAVARIA SR-LINE. Its official world debut is planned for January 2023 at the boot in Dusseldorf.
