Monte Carlo Yachts

Genuinely Italian in its management, designers and artisanal skills, Monte Carlo Yachts is the Italian brand in the luxury motor yachts segment.

Founded in 2008, Monte Carlo Yachts is the fastest growing Italian brand in the luxury motor yacht segment which have developed and launched a range of seven award winning models and has been recognised internationally both for the iconic style of its yachts and their performance. The MCY Collection currently includes the MCY 66, MCY 70, MCY 76, MCY 80, MCY 86, MCY 96 and MCY 105. Furthermore, Monte Carlo Yachts has enriched its range with the new MCY Skylounge Collection which includes the MCY 70 Skylounge, the MCY 76 Skylounge and the upcoming MCY 105 Skylounge. The history of success is based on solid know-how and a strong strategic plan based mainly on two main drivers: design and product innovation, together with a revolutionary patented manufacturing process. More precisely, the MCY models convey a clear vision of the future, choosing to carry on in evolution and improvement on the basis of the company fundamentals values. Renewal alongside continuity is how Monte Carlo Yacht intend to keep evolving its collection.

The design. The full MCY collection is designed by World famous Nuvolari Lenard design studio, with which Monte Carlo Yachts have studied and introduced design features and materials extensively used previously only on mega yachts. With Carlo Nuvolari and Dan Lenard, Monte Carlo Yachts resets the meaning of key words such as style, functionality and customization. Style becomes love for beauty, not bridled by limited standards but open to continuous evolution. The natural blend of the sense of freedom we feel boating and the perception of safety and comfort of a villa. The luxury to be shielded in a protective environment with direct connection to open spaces and nature around. Functionality becomes the tuning between necessary and unnecessary, the final result of a team work, designers together with the engineering and marketing departments in MCY. Customization becomes the chance to provide unique personalities and moods to the yacht, without masking its style. Product Innovation and Manufacturing Process. Monte Carlo Yachts created a World-Class modular construction process inspired by the concepts in Lean Manufacturing. Since the beginning, this has been recognised as one of the most important strengths of the company, which permits to increase the quality of the yachts while considerably reducing the time of construction and consequentially allowing the yard to be more responsive and dynamic to a global market. All these solutions are the results of the Beneteau Group efforts and tangible proof of continuous investment oriented towards the growth. This is also the reason why Monte Carlo Yachts has been awarded with the Innovation in a Production Process Award at the IBI-METS Boat Builder Awards for Business Achievement, an important recognition to the innovative production process that has distinguished the company since the launch of its first yacht. This unique process is matched with a revolutionary naval architecture that strongly differentiates MCY yachts from the rest of the market. It has been developed in order to offer unparalleled levels of comfort and reliability at sea, not achievable through conventional design. The combination of these two factors allows results of absolute excellence, encouraging more accurate levels of finish and increasing at the most the chances of customisation.

NEWS FROM THE YARD

Corinna – recyclable composites in recreational boating, planning, development and validation of a recyclable composite for recreational boating.

Aim of the project and expected results Due to the problems related to the disposal of fiberglass, the end-of-life managements of boats still has not found solutions and results in large quantities of material abandoned in ports, on the coasts and at the bottom of the sea. Faced with this problem, which, in terms of environmental sustainability, is global and increasingly important, the CORINNA project aims at developping an alternative solution to the traditional composite materials that are currently used in the nautical sector. The project provides an activity of research and characterization of new materials suitable for the design of products made of innovative materials, the industrialization of the productive process, the creation and testing of prototypes and the validation of the results obtained in comparison to traditional technology, also from the environmental sustainability point of view, through a Life Cycle Assessment study.

GRP Production

The first step in the production of a yacht, whether sailing or motor, is the creation of its empty fiberglass hull and deck. An extremely technical step. All fiberglass components are meticulously manufactured on a modern production line, using materials and resin applied by vacuum infusion.

The assembly phase

Every single model is the result of a very specific assembly process, relying on a multitude of skills. Mechanics, fitters, electricians, carpenters… So many trades necessary for the exterior and interior design of a boat.

monte carlo yachts spa

The delivery and testing phase

The launching of the boat is the most delicate phase. Afterwards, a series of tests and trials are carried out before handing over to the client. It is indeed necessary to check the performances, to control the various components and to simulate the overall functioning of the boat.

The supply chain and logistics

All the different production phases are fed by the supply chain, which plays a central role in serving the various production lines. Purchasing, procurement and warehouse management are thus coordinated to ensure the best possible efficiency.

Product development and support functions

The product developing functions from the interior and exterior design to the Project Management and to the Process engineering of the different elements and tools are the essential guidelines for all the production phases. Support functions such as human resources, administration, sales, after-sales and marketing are also present to run all the different shipyard activities.

MCY 70 Skylounge

Monte Carlo Yachts’ models are easy to spot in any harbor. They have signature overlapping circular hull windows, with profiles inspired by sport-fish yachts. With the MCY 70 Skylounge, the builder adds an all-weather helm that doubles as an entertaining space—all of which can be customized to suit the owner’s taste.

My tour of the MCY 70 Skylounge revealed a yacht designed for comfortable family cruising. I stepped aboard via the swim platform, which is sized for a 12-foot tender. Twin stairways flank the transom and lead up to the aft deck. There, a twin-pedestal wood dining table has a transom settee and casual chairs for alfresco meals. The flybridge overhang provides shade and protection from the elements.

Inside, the furnishings and cabinetry are all low-profile, allowing unobstructed visibility from stem to stern. Not only do the 43-inch-high-by-8-foot-long windows yield panoramic vistas, but the yacht’s bulwarks are cut down to enhance ocean views. The forward windshield has a center pane with side curved glass for clear sightlines. And because the helm station is up on the flybridge, there’s more interior living space on the main deck. Salon seating includes an L-shaped settee to port and twin armchairs.

MCY 70 Skylounge

The galley is forward and to port, with a four-burner induction cooktop, oven, dishwasher and fridge/freezer drawers. The adjacent six- to eight-seat expanding glass dining table keeps guests within earshot of the chef.

All throughout the main deck, the yacht’s volume seems substantial. There is 6-foot-8-inch headroom, light fabrics and leathers, recessed LED lighting, and windows in all directions. A starboard-side door lets crew move fore and aft without passing through the salon. An optional day-head can be installed aft, or the space can be used for stowage.

MCY 70 Skylounge

In the salon’s starboard aft corner are a staircase down to the master stateroom, as well as a steel staircase with floating glass steps up to the sky lounge, where the Italian design team of Nuvolari Lenard created a truly comfortable space. The center helm seat is flanked by guest bench seats, with sliding side windows for fresh air when desired. Open the electric sunroof and aft doors, and the enclosed bridge converts to a breezy oasis.

The flat helm console houses rocker switches, thruster joysticks, MAN low-profile electric throttles and other systems. Three Garmin multifunction displays are housed in individual pods, adding to the unrestricted visibility forward. The sofa and ottoman to port are ideal for stretching out after a long run.

Aft on this deck is an outdoor space with several chairs and cocktail tables, protected from the wind and secure within welded railings.

MCY 70 Skylounge

Belowdecks, the full-beam master stateroom has a king berth on centerline with a wraparound headboard, pearl-white lacquer walls and 6-foot-8-inch headroom. This stateroom is a hideaway place with a portside sofa, starboard vanity/desk and flush-mounted 43-inch TV. There’s an oversize marble shower stall with a seat and rain shower in the en suite head, a walk-in closet, and a washer/dryer in the staircase foyer to allow easy living on extended voyages.

The other three guest staterooms are forward, laid out as a forepeak VIP and a pair of twins. The VIP has a queen berth and an en suite head with a tiled shower stall. The twin-berth staterooms can convert to doubles, and an en suite head in the port room serves them both. MCY got creative with the lateral stowage under the center staircase, which is accessible from each guest stateroom. Crew have twin bunks just forward of the engine room.

MCY 70 Skylounge

Far forward on the MCY 70 Skylounge (just follow the teak-capped rails past the Portuguese bridge) is a bow lounge. With a center walk-through, this haven includes sun pads, electric high-low teak tables with dining for 10, pop-up accent lights and a sunshade. Forward is a raised deck that houses the windlass, anchor gear and cleats, keeping these toe-busting protrusions out of walking areas.

A high level of personalization is key for MCY. While the 70 Skylounge bears a strong family resemblance to the builder’s other models on the outside, it can be customized throughout the interior, making it worth a look inside and out.

Monte Carlo Yachts

Monte Carlo Yachts

  • Via Consiglio d’Europa 90, 34074 Monte Carlo Yachts Spa

Shipyard Monte Carlo Yachts was founded in 2008, combining on its territory the craftsmanship of Italians, production facilities and the quality of the French in the manufacture of the performance of the family corporation Beneto Group. Beneteau Group became the world leader in the production of yachts in 1982 after the purchase of world-famous shipyards. The goal of creating Monte Carlo Yachts is exclusive timeless yachts that are different from other world brands and characterized by internal quality. Until 2018, the shipyard was headed by the Executive Director of Carl Demaria, after - Christoph Cadrille.

Monte Carlo Yachts shipyard builds planing yachts with raised wheelhouse and flybridge. She is a fast-growing Italian brand in the luxury commercial motor yacht segment using composite hull technology. Production is in Monfalcon , a small town near Venice. The dealer network is represented by companies in Europe, America, the Middle East and the Asia-Pacific region. For example, Dream Yachts is an exclusive distributor in Russia, Ukraine and the countries of the former CIS, Sport Nautic is in Spain.

The first 23-meter yacht Monte Carlo Yachts 76 appeared a year and a half after the creation of a new shipyard. The show took place in Venice and attracted many customers. In total, the model range includes seven yachts from 19 to 33 m long: models 65, 70, 76, 80, 86, 96 and the flagship 105. All of them have been awarded prestigious international awards of various exhibitions for style and technical excellence. In 2019, updated models 66 and 76 were presented, and 2020 began with the demonstration of the modern Skylounge line of yachts . The new generation collection was opened by a modernized 70 model. The company plans to take part in a boat show in September in France, Italy and Monaco, and in October in Singapore.

Monte Carlo Yachts uses materials and technical solutions that were previously used only in the construction of megayachts. The key advantage is modular assembly. It improves quality, reduces creation time and allows you to respond more quickly to market requirements. The most innovative in manufacturing is a one-piece indoor module, which is built separately. The approach taken was marked by the BI-METS Boat Builder Awards - a special award for innovative contribution to the production process.

Interiors are created separately from the building, which simplifies the construction. The Venetian design studio Nuvolari Lenard is actively involved in their creation.

The yacht-spotter's guide to the F1 Monaco Grand Prix

Every year, Monaco’s Grand Prix pulls in some of the fleet’s finest superyachts for a weekend of adrenaline-fuelled F1 action and A-lister events in the heart of the principality. Yachts moored stern to the circuit have a premium vantage point over the cars tearing around the track, while superyachts at anchor can enjoy all the Formula One buzz with the added benefit of privacy and seclusion.

BOAT takes a closer look at the superyachts spotted near the event...

Renaissance

Length : 111.9m Builder : Freire

Renaissance is the largest private yacht built in Spain and one of the world's most expensive charter yachts . Which is quite the feat for Freire, a commercial shipyard that has built only one private yacht in the past. With 7,200GT to play with, her list of amenities include a sushi bar, a dedicated hair and beauty salon, a ballet bar with a mirror for stretching and two cinemas – one indoor, one outdoor. The owner's deck is described as "palatial" and comes with its own a media room, a lounge with bar and dining and a private terrace with a Jacuzzi for six.

Length : 52.1m Builder : Sanlorenzo

Spotted pulling into port with a Bugatti on the aft, Seven Sins is the perfect yacht for soaking up the Formula One action. She is part of Sanlorenzo's hugely successful 52Steel series, with features including a glass-bottomed pool on the aft that floods the beach club below with light. Her palatial interior design offers plenty of space for kicking back and watching the races in a more relaxed setting and her sharp Officina Italiana Design exterior is sure to attract attention in Monaco harbour.

Length : 90m Builder : Benetti

Lionheart was launched in 2016 as the shipyard's largest build to date, though she was surpassed by the 107-metre Mar (ex Lana ) four years later. She was the third yacht to be ordered from Benetti by the same owner, Sir Philip Green. While her curvy exterior and private balconies will be visible to those visiting Port Hercule this weekend, interiors have always been shrouded in secrecy. It is known that  Stefano Natucci  collaborated with Benetti on the exterior design and Green & Mingarelli Design  is responsible for the interior design.

Fountainhead

Length : 87.8m   Builder : Feadship

Created with family use in mind, Fountainhead features a recreation room and library that can be converted into cabins to supplement the six existing guest cabins and owner's suite. She was designed by De Voogt Naval Architects and Sinot Yacht Design , though "a signature blend of art, antiques and aesthetics" by Belgian artist Axel Vervoordt are also displayed throughout.  Leisure highlights include a fully-equipped gym with health club, a contra-flow swimming pool and a tender garage that houses wave runners, kayaks, surfboard and diving equipment, among others. The superyacht is named after the famous novel by Ayn Rand.

Coral Ocean

Length : 72.6m Builder : Lürssen

A World Superyacht Award winner, Coral Ocean earned the judges' commendation following a sensitive, multi-million refit that converted the heritage vessel into a successful charter platform. All deck spaces were upgraded, including a reimagined sundeck that now houses a glass-sided spa pool, sunbathing and observation deck and a central deckhouse with a television lounge, dining area and bar. Coral Ocean was one of the largest launches of 1994 and her secrecy for the first two decades of her life solidified her as an icon for the German shipyard. She is owned by Australian garbage waste disposal giant Ian Malouf.

Length : 72m   Builder : Lürssen

Delivered in 2006, Titania  (ex Apoise ) was put up for auction by her owner in 2010 and was snapped up for €33.75 million – roughly half the estimated value – by Phones4U tycoon John Caudwell. He then went on to refit, lengthen and rename the superyacht, which he discusses in an exclusive interview with BOAT International . Designed by Espen Øino and Francois Zuretti , the Lürssen was the star yacht in season six of The Crown and is a popular charter yacht. No wonder, as she sports a beach club that can be converted into a nightclub, an onboard masseuse and beautician and an impressive array of watersports – including a waterpark and a 12.7-metre slide.

Length : 70m Builder : Royal Denship

Force Blue first hit the water in 2002 as the 63.3-metre Big Roi , a trawler-style expedition yacht that has since been refitted to varying degrees. The most recent work was done at Lusben in 2022 and involved a seven-metre stern extension to allow for a large, wrap-around swim platform. The main deck was extended in the process as well. Design highlights include a black-tiled spa (with heated massage table), a cinema, a barbecue and dining area that turns into a disco and a dining room that doubles as a conference space. An elevator serves all decks.

Length : 67.5m Builder : Icon Yachts

The flagship of the Dutch shipyard, Loon (ex Icon ) is now anchored in Port Hercule where she is likely to cause another social media sensation . She was delivered in 2010 to a design by RWD , with clean, contemporary interiors by Studio Linse . A raised main deck pool is one of her many highlights with two panels of glass that filter natural light into the beach club below. A bar, gym, massage room and sauna are also found at this level. Loon was sold to a new owner in April 2023, after which she joined the charter fleet with IYC .

Length : 66m   Builder : Oceanco

AHS has undergone numerous name changes (she was sold and renamed mostly recently in January ) but started life as Dilbar in 2005. A successful charter yacht, she can be easily distinguished in port by her classic canoe stern. An interior by the late Alberto Pinto provides accommodation across eight cabins, including a full-beam owner's suite with its own lounge and adjoining private office. Other highlights include an outdoor cinema, a beamy sundeck with 19,000-litre pool and a helipad that transforms into a sun lounge.

Length : 49.9m Builder : Zepter

The Croatian yard's first superyacht offering, JoyMe is usually berthed in Cap d’Ail but has been sighted in Monaco for the past two Grands Prix. She’s one of the most recognisable yachts at the event, with her custom red and white exterior and unusual eye motif – said to be the eyes of the commissioning owner’s daughter. Leisure highlights include a Pop Art-inspired interior by  Marijana Radovic , a sundeck with a 3.5-metre Jacuzzi and a lower deck arranged with a gym, Finnish sauna and Hammam spa with sea views. Accommodation is across five cabins, including the "VIP deck" owner's cabin which has a walk-in bathroom, lounge and private sunbathing platform on the bow.

Length : 45.2m Builder : Royal Hakvoort

The most recent delivery on the list, Milele is one of this year's World Superyacht Award winners . According to the judges, she stood out thanks to her "incredible build quality” and surprising spaces on board. Most notable of these is the innovative foredeck garage, which stores a submarine and crane, and has a full entertainment suite with a large television screen built into its hatch. She was designed inside and out by Omega Architects with an efficient hull design by Van Oossanen Naval Architects .
