ABOUT SABRE

SABRE is a 78-foot Ocean-Voyager sailing catamaran, the first of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere. South Sea Cruises, who own and operate South Sea Sailing, commissioned this vessel after seeing a gap in the Fiji market for a comfortable, modern-day cruise vessel that actually sails. Being a catamaran, this is the perfect vessel for those that are not used to the sea as it doesn’t heel over and offers a smooth, comfortable ride for people to not only enjoy the sailing and the view but the onboard food and beverage experience at the same time.  Think of this as your floating paradise!

SEATING OPTIONS

There are plenty of seating options onboard including booths around the outer edge of the main deck area which seat up to 6 people, additional booths in the central decking area, two forward-facing daybeds, and bean bags suspended above the water on the ‘trampoline’ area up the front of the boat. The large canopy covering most of the boat offers shade for those that want it or head up the front of the boat to bask in the glorious Fiji sunshine.

There are also four reserved booths that seat up to 5 or 6 people which can be booked ahead of time and come with a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine.

SNORKELLING

Exclusive Charter or join our mixed group Coral Explorer Day Sail and be amazed by the abundant fish life and live coral reefs of the southern Mamanuca Islands. From the deep ocean passes to sheltered coral gardens and sand quays, we have options for all areas of interest and ability. Feel safe with one of our snorkel guides, and explore our amazing underwater world! Our high-quality snorkel equipment is provided free of charge and sanitised after each use. BYO snorkel equipment is also welcome.

Coral Explorer full-day Sailing & Snorkelling

Departs port denarau marina at 9.30am.

Our day starts at Port Denarau, the exciting central hub for marine activity in Fiji. Once we are all aboard we can drop the lines, hoist the sails and leave the busy mainland for your ultimate Fijian day out on the water. 

Relax on Wanaka’s spacious decks or under the sunshade as we glide effortlessly over the aquamarine waters towards the magical islands of Malolo, Tavarua, Namotu, and the outer reefs. Keep an eye out for dolphins, turtles, flying fish, and seabirds along the way.



We aim for two snorkel stops during the day which is decided by the boat captain to take the best advantage of prevailing wind and tide conditions. Our most popular spots are Sunflower Reef, The Pinnacle, and Malolo sand quay. The abundant fish life, live corals, and clear water makes for an amazing snorkelling experience. From first-timers to veteran divers, our crew will ensure everyone has the best and safest experience possible.



The Coral Explorer Day Sail package includes lunch at the Bistro Restaurant at Musket Cove Island Resort. Pre-order at check-in and enjoy the culinary delights of the island chefs. Check out the full menu here. Try a pina colada or mojito from the bar or relax on the beach before heading out for the second snorkel. Time on the island is generally 1hr30min. (Drinks on the Island are not included in the package price).

With the South East trade wind filling in it’s time to weigh anchor, hoist the sails and again experience the magic of the wind on the sails as we head back towards Port Denarau. If conditions permit the crew is happy to let you try your hand at steering the boat or trimming the sails.

This is a “mixed group” cruise. Minimum 8pax, Maximum 20pax. Please also enquire about a private charter.

Things to bring: Swimwear & towel, sunscreen & hat, camera & light sweater for windy or cool days. Snorkeling equipment is provided but you are also welcome to bring your own. Water refill stations at the office and onboard.

Delve into your favourite book post your latest Instagram pic on a comfortable bean bag or catch some rays on the forward trampoline nets. Wanaka’s spacious shaded decks and stable design make for a relaxing ride, even for those who can suffer from motion sickness. With twin 30hp engines we can motor when it’s calm, but the real fun is when the wind fills the sails and we can turn the engines off and glide silently over the ocean waves.  Max 25pax.

8.5-meter Miss Minnie is a thrilling racing catamaran that offers an exhilarating sailing experience for up to 6 passengers.

Miss Minnie is perfect for small groups or families wanting a day out exploring Fiji by water. 

Fishermen will recognise this design as a reliable and safe deep-water fishing vessel. On top of that, this 7m Kevlacat is a great platform for groups of up to 12 pax to spend the day exploring our pristine Mamanuca Islands. With a spacious shaded aft deck, cushioned seating and new twin 200hp Yamaha engine, Reel Game can cover the distance to places a little further from the beaten track. This is also our preferred vessel for island transfers.

7.4-metre fast motor vessel, Zigzag is ideal for island hopping, surfing, snorkelling and scenic outings.

The vessel has comfortable day lounge seating in the sun or shade, try a bit of trolling between islands  (for up to 8 pax).

Surfing Tours

Spend the day with partners or family at one of Fiji's famous surf breaks and experience thrilling sailing on the way there and back.

Non surfers can relax in the shade, snorkel, swim or fish, while surfers take on Fiji’s world-class waves. Destination will be decided on the day taking into account surfer ability, swell size and wind direction. Your guide Andrew has been surfing these waves for over 10 years and knows the best spots for all conditions.

Private groups of up to 6 pax on the fast sailing catamaran “Miss Minnie”, or

Private or mixed groups of up to 8 pax on the fast motor vessel “Zigzag”.

As all surf breaks are over coral reef, this is recommended for intermediate-experienced surfers.

"Day Trip To Paradise"

We booked this through the tour guide located at the hotel and were not disappointed. We had 4 adults and 2 kids (4 and 5). We were picked up from the hotel and were off sailing on the catamaran in no time. Had a snorkeling session then hit the beautiful Musket Cove. What a place, simply stunning. After a fantastic BBQ lunch, we then headed to a sand bar out in the middle of the ocean for some more snorkelling or simply walking along the bar.

The crew were a great bunch of lads and the whole family had a fantastic day. Cheers guys.

"Ask For This Tour!"

After much probing and several visits to tour guides we were given a brochure to this tour group. I am thrilled we did it although a bit pricy it was so worth it! Pick up form hotel driven down to the prt , leave around 9 on the catamaran for an hour plus sail our to the reef to snorkel. The boat crew are fantastic, BYO as a tip, and load up on the sunscreen -SPF 50+ you get roasted! Snorkel gear, guides, life vests , flippers all provided. After the 1st snorkel we headed to Musket cove (next to Plantation island) for lunch a bit of exploring swimming, a cocktail or two. Then it's off to sand var island for the second snorkel, and then home. It was a fantastic day out on the water got to meet a few other lovely people (max of 30 on the boat which is great) and the crew were amazing with the kids teaching them how to make things with palm leaves. Really wonderful experience!! Highly recommend.

"Awesome and Friendly"

We traveled with our 3 kids (13, 12 & 7 year old) and we all enjoyed this trip. The crew were very relaxed and friendly. It was a small group so it was easy to interact with everyone. They genuinely wanted to make us happy and went out of their way. A girl on board was celebrating her 16th birthday so they organised for a cake, it was great.

The views from Musket Cove were incredible and I'm glad we stopped there. Then we went on to more snorkeling and again, God's creation was not disappointing. It was a GREAT day and the kids loved it. Would highly recommend.

• We only take a small deposit now (without any credit card fees) to confirm the booking and the remaining balance will be processed 5 days before the cruise date.
• We have a secure payment page with payment options of either Credit Card, Western Union or Bank to Bank transfer .All payment is in FJD (Fijian dollars)
• Please note that you`ll pay (approx.2% to 4%) surcharge on credit card payments on the remaining balance but you can avoid that if you prefer to pay cash.
• As you book with us we'll send you an " Order Pending " email to inform we have received this. We then book your tour as fast as possible and send you a second " Booking Confirmed " email with all the relevant details. You can keep the soft or hard copy of this voucher to present it to the reservation.

CRUISE ITINERARY

Day 1 - saturday.

NUKU-I-MANA Welcome Aboard!  Set sail over lunch through the beautiful Mamanuca islands past many famous resorts collecting some additional passengers, before arriving for a snorkel from a sand cay and discover the vista of a South Pacific sunset.  Tonight book your preferred time early for our a-la-carte Dinner.

Day 2 - Sunday

MONURIKI – MONU BAY Reef Endeavour cruises to idyllic Monoriki where Tom Hanks’ Castaway was filmed. Explore this natural film set on a guided kayak tour and explore idyllic Monu Island for snorkelling before a special village choral service.  The beautiful harmonies of the village choir will simply delight you.  This evening join the entertainment of our Sunday Show.

Day 3 - Monday

SACRED ISLANDS - WAYA ISLANDS The Sacred Island is a place beautiful beyond belief.  Legends tell of the great war canoe `Rogoboka' which landed here with the first Fijians.  On arrival the ship's crew pay tribute to the forefathers of Fijian culture and perform the Sevusevu (gift giving) ceremony.  Spend a magical morning swimming in the aquamarine lagoons, snorkelling in spectacular coral gardens, beach combing or coral viewing from the glass bottom boat. Over lunch cruise to the Southern Yasawa islands.  Enclosed by towering volcanic peaks and palm fringed beaches, Waya Island is a tropical paradise.  Visit a local school this afternoon and a village and shell market. The fit will also have a chance to climb to the peak of Waya for amazing views.  Don your favourite island attire for Pacific Island night tonight!

Day 4 - Tuesday

WAYA ISLANDS - DENARAU MARINA After Breakfast, Reef Endeavour sets sail and returns to Denarau Marina at 07:30am for a 9:00am disembarkation.

Explore Fiji's Isles. A fantastic combination cruise exploring the outer Mamanuca Islands and 3 hours spent ashore at South Sea Island.

On the Island enjoy great snorkelling and water sports or take the semi-submersible ride to see the spectacular coral and fish life. You'll enjoy a tasty barbecue lunch with a cold Fiji beer or other complimentary drinks.

After lunch board the South Sea Cruises high-speed catamaran for your cruise around the beautiful Mamanuca Islands. You'll see many of the islands including Treasure, Beachcomber, Mana, Castaway, Malolo, and Likuliku before heading back to Port Denarau. Massage available (additional cost).

Inclusions:  Barbecue buffet lunch with complimentary drinks. Subsea adventure in the semi-submersible coral viewer, snorkelling gears, free use of non-motorised water sports equipment including kayaking and sailing, Fijian "Meke" performance at lunchtime (except Sundays) and complimentary kids club.

What to bring:  Sunscreen, sunhat, sunglasses, swimsuit, shorts, t-shirt, beach towel, and a dry change of clothes for the return trip back to your hotel.

Child Policy Children 0 to 4 years are free of charge. Children 5 to 15 years at child rate.

Combo Cruise departs Port Denarau at 10:00 am and returns at 3:00 pm.

Transfer Inclusion Return coach transfers to/from Port Denarau to/from most Nadi, Denarau, and Wailoaloa hotels and Resorts. Return transfer from Coral Coast, Natadola and Momi Bay is not included.

Cancellation Policy Bookings cancelled within 24 hours of arrival or due to no show will incur a charge of 100% of the total booking value. No residual refunds for unused components after travel has commenced. Cancellation fees apply to unused components cancelled prior to the original date of travel. All cancellations must be received in writing.

Cruising the Yasawa and Mamanuca Islands

The Yaswawa and Mamanuca  Islands are the closest cruising grounds to Nadi International Airport. Twenty minutes from the airport is Port Denarau, the launching place for many yacht charter companies. Within a couple of hours sailing from Denarau you’re amongst the Yasawa / Mamanuca chain of islands.  This pristine area extends for over 80 nautical miles and is perfect for novice sailors who may not be comfortable sailing long distances in open water and you’ll frequently come across other yachts.   The area is dotted with coral reefs and underwater caves making it perfect for snorkeling and diving . You can anchor safely and explore untouched beaches with the whitest of sand.   If you tire of the seafaring life, stop into one of the boutique island resorts that dot the region and replenish with a gourmet meal or hearty lovo feast.

Cruising Kadavu & Beqa

This region, closest to Fiji’s main island of Vitu Levu, is known as Fiji’s adventure playground.  Offering some of Fiji’s best diving , surf breaks and game fishing , adrenaline junkies are never bored sailing this region.  Diving offers the chance to swim with a variety of shark and large pelagic species, schooling barracudas, turtles and manta rays. Visit the village of Dravuni (be sure to take a gift for the village chief) before heading north to explore deserted islands, hike to inland waterfalls and get well and truly off the traditional tourist route.  There are numerous resorts throughout the area where you can anchor safely to replenish supplies, or enjoy a few hours of island life.

Cruising the Lomaiviti Group

Comprising the islands of Namena, Koro, Makogai, Wakaya and Gau, this region is a mecca for experienced divers.  The large volcanic island of Koro is the seventh largest island in Fiji. Famed for its traditional turtle calling ceremony is the village of Nacamaki.  A caller from the village stands high on the cliff and summons all turtles in the region to the surface. This is one of only two places in Fiji where this occurs.   A visit to the island of Ovalau is a must where you’ll find the old capital of Levuka where buildings stand in a time warp just as they were 100 years ago.  The Namenalala Marine Reserve, on the fringe of Bligh Waters, is Fiji’s most pristine reef ecosystem (a fee is payable to land here).  The island is home to a booby nesting colony, fruit bats, lesser frigates and long-tail tropic birds and Hawkesbill turtle nesting sites.

Cruising the Lau Group

This remote group of islands on Fiji’s east may be one of the world’s best cruising destinations. The Lao Group is still devoid of any tourism.  It is probably for the more sea hardy as there is more sailing between islands than the other regions and it can get quite bumpy, but it is certainly worth it. The pay-off is isolated reefs and islands devoid of tourist resorts.  This is virgin Fiji at its best!

The people living in this remote area live a simple, subsistence based lifestyle. Visitors to the region should be mindful of the unique fragility of this untouched area.

Needless to say, the fishing and diving throughout the Lau Group is excellent.

Castaway Island Fiji

Island resort day trip.

Spend the day at one of Fiji’s most beautiful and popular resorts boasting two pools. Lunch and snorkelling gear are included.

• Description

Cruise out to Castaway Island on our high-speed catamaran, as we drop off/pick up passengers from other resorts enroute, then see the beauty of the resort stretching before you as you’re welcomed ashore. With 5 hours on the island, there is plenty of time to laze in the sun beneath swaying palms at one of their two beaches and enjoy snorkelling in the crystal-clear waters over coral reefs straight off the beach. A limit of 20 passengers per day means an exclusive small group trip complete with a day trip escort/host.

Activities The resort facilities include two fresh-water swimming pools, multiple bars, resort boutique, island massage, and a range of water sports equipment (note that a refundable deposit is required). Kids Club and motorised water sports are also available at an additional cost.

Food and Drinks A delicious two-course à la carte or buffet lunch is included in your day trip and drinks can be purchased at the resort. If you require a vegetarian option, please specify in the ‘special requirements’ box when you go through the booking process Timetable
