Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design presents 79.9m (262’) superyacht AWARE, a yacht concept where an abundance of space, exceptional inside-outside connection to the sea, spacious and comfortable lounges, and vast exterior decks epitomise the essence of luxury.

The concept is ready to build and fully operational plus Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design have created a stunning 1600 mm scale model which will be available to view at the Monaco Yacht Show 2023 (Stand: Parvis Piscine PP67).
Designer Sander Sinot shared his thoughts. “For the design of AWARE the focus is on maximizing the space on board within the yacht’s limited structure. We designed open plan layouts for the beach club, lounges and exterior decks that offer inherent flexibility and ample space while reducing the number of decks.” Reducing GTs gives unprecedented amounts of outdoor space on the areas that are most often used, the beach deck and upper deck, adding the most value for guests. Sinot continued, “The principle of maximizing space and reducing GT yields with a distinct, sleek, minimalist and super-spacious design that focuses on optimizing a number of much used larger spaces aboard, is often requested by experienced owners.”
SINOT Aware | Image © Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design
The experience on board is all about enhancing the use of natural light and controlling it using shutters, adjustable blinds and grids in concealed skylights. The design is a next step in yacht efficiency. As Sinot says, “AWARE combines a superior quality of build with a sophisticated use of natural materials and a seamless integration of technology resulting in a minimalistic, essential design atmosphere that creates a holistic awareness of the yacht for a true connoisseur owner.”
The low profile is elongated and elegant and the triple deck design has an open plan pavilion on the bridge deck offering unrestricted views of the ocean on all sides. A vast 460m2 exterior deck space surrounds the pavilion so guests can make the most of the sea views. Inside, a lounge, dining area, library, and semi-open wheelhouse are integrated in a single open space of almost 200m2 with floor-to-ceiling glass facades. The wheelhouse’s seating arrangement allows the captain, owner, and travel companions to plan voyages at a large, custom-built round table. The wheelhouse, which encompasses all the latest technologies can be separated from the lounge by closing the sliding doors.
Located forward on the main deck, the beam-wide owner’s state room offers 80m2 of living, sleeping, bathroom and dressing space, plus a balcony with a private jacuzzi. All the features in the owner’s state room consist of custom-designed pieces, hand-crafted from durable and natural materials. There are four beautifully appointed guest state rooms located around the central lobby and staircase which connects the lower deck, main deck, and bridge deck. The full-length windows in the bedrooms and the ensuite bathrooms deliver an infinite connection with the surrounding seascape.
Prospective owners can begin design consultations now as superyacht AWARE is ready to be built. Visit the scale model scale model at the Parvis Piscine PP67 Stand at the 2023 Monaco Yacht Show .

This 425′ Superyacht Boasts Just About Every Luxury Amenity One Could Possibly Ask For
By: Tim Huber Published: Oct 05, 2022
While it’s easy to look at an enormous, over-the-top superyacht concept render and assume it will never actually be built, the reality is that the world’s wealthiest yachting enthusiasts have been spending ever-growing sums on completing insanely ambitious super and gigayachts — some of which cost billions of dollars to bring to fruition. Recognizing the very real possibility that these highly-involved and insanely-exorbitant ships can actually be brought to life, dozens of design houses have been whipping up highly detiled superyacht concepts — one of the latest of which to get the greenlight for production is Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design with its Poetry Superyacht.
Appropriately referred to by its designer, Sander J. Sinot as allowing for “yachting without compromise,” the Poetry spans a total of 425.2’ and boasts a 62’ beam. Powering the vessel is a hybrid hydroelectric and PEM fuel cell powertrain that affords it a cruising speed of 12 knots, a maximum velocity of 17.5 knots, and a range of 4,500 nautical miles. Sporting a sleek outward appearance with a modern icebreaker-style hull, the ship features a fully open substructure that supports a beach club and three completely unobstructed decks spanning four of the ship’s five levels.
Inside the Poetry’s five levels is a master suite that opens up directly onto the vessel’s rear deck, a square infinity pool flowing into a waterfall on the lower aft deck, several enormous dining rooms, lounges, living rooms, and a massive multi-level foyer with a spiral staircase jutting out from above an indoor pond. Alongside the master suite — or “owner’s room” — the Poetry also features 2 VIP staterooms with walk-in closets and private baths, plus another four guest rooms which collectively provide enough accommodation for 14 guests — plus 47 crew members. Onboard amenities include a luxury gym, a full spa and beauty salon, a sauna, a home theatre, and an indoor pool. The Poetry also houses a myriad of “water toys” as well as five high-performance jet skis and a pair of 40’ limo tenders.
Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design’s Poetry Superyacht had its grand unveiling earlier this week at the 2022 Monaco Yacht Show.

“The 55S is an amazing boat, and it’s been an amazing boat for our family,” Brady said at the time. “I think the 77 will be a little bit more suited for what we need it for down here, which is a few more day trips and weekend trips.”
The 77 is not only 22 feet longer than the 55S but wider, more voluminous, and more complex, meaning it is fit for offshore cruising not just bay hopping. The 77-footer, which Brady christened Viva la Vida , features a sleek, sculpted exterior by Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design and a high-speed planing hull by Van Oossanen Naval Architects. It is also equipped with three 900 hp Volvo Penta IPS engines that enable a cruising speed of 30 knots, a top speed of 37 knots, and a range of 400 nautical miles.
The luxurious interior is fit for football royalty, with whitewashed oak and rich leather details. Three plush cabins offer space for up to nine guests, with the expansive owner’s suite spanning some 16 feet from wall to wall. The living quarters also include a well-appointed galley, generous crew quarters, and a high-tech helm similar to a fighter jet’s.
The exterior offers plenty of space for relaxing and entertaining, with sun pads to the front, circular seating amidship, and large sofas at the back. To top it off, the tender garage is stocked with Seabobs Brady himself used.

Jimmy John Liautaud Sent Back to Yacht After Illegal Party on Sardinia Beach
When you own a yacht like Jimmy John Liautaud , the world seems at your feet. Yet, on July 28th, the sandwich mogul discovered some boundaries aren’t meant to be crossed. Liautaud, hoping for an unforgettable day, planned a lavish party on the sandy shores of Talmone Beach in Palau, Sardinia.
Unfortunately, this idyllic beach is part of a nature reserve where only simple activities like walking and swimming are permitted. Liautaud’s plans fell foul of these regulations, creating tension among beachgoers.
Lavish Preparations
The preparations were extensive. The yacht’s crew set up gazebos, tables, cookers, jukeboxes, a volleyball net, and even a DJ set. Talmone Beach , known for its secluded cove and azure waters, is accessible only on foot via a narrow path. Boats must anchor at least 200 meters from shore to protect the coastline.
Liautaud had to abandon his elaborate setup after being spotted by a member of the Sardinian association Amici di Talmone (Friends of Talmone). The organization ensures that conservation rules are respected and conducts garbage collections.
Coast Guard Intervention
By afternoon, Liautaud’s plans were halted when a coast guard patrol arrived. Persuading the crew to dismantle their setup and retreat back to the “ Rock It ” motor yacht restored the natural tranquility of Talmone Beach.
The Rock It Yacht
The “Rock It” yacht epitomizes its owner’s ambitious spirit. Designed by Sander Sinot of Sinot Exclusive Yacht Design, it combines sleek exteriors with cozy interiors. Featuring minimalist Dutch design with American touches, it’s built by Feadship with input from sales manager Sipke Halbertsma who shared, The owner wanted a yacht that was fast on the outside and cozy on the inside.
This $60 million vessel accommodates ten guests in five cabins and boasts features like a spa pool and beach club. Technologically advanced, it includes a semi-dynamic positioning autopilot system and reaches speeds up to 21 knots.
Jimmy John Liautaud: From Humble Beginnings
Witnessing two of his father’s business ventures crumble didn’t deter young Liautaud . With sheer determination and a $25,000 loan from his father in 1983, he launched Jimmy John’s.
Catering initially from an old garage using his mother’s oven mitts and knives, he sold sandwiches at $2.10 each. Giving free samples boosted local awareness among businesses and students—this grassroots marketing strategy birthed his flourishing brand.
Liautaud reflected on his journey saying: I always wanted to own a small business, something simple. For me, it’s all about dedication, focus, and discipline.

NFL legend Tom Brady is making waves once again, but this time, it's not on the football field. The Patriots Hall of Famer has decided to part ways with one of his most luxurious possessions: his 77-foot yacht. The yacht, a Wajer 77, is listed for a whopping $7 million on YachtWay, marking a significant shift in Brady's collection of high-end toys.
Brady , who initially acquired the yacht in early 2021, has opted to let it go in favor of his 55-foot cruiser, which holds a special place in his heart. The Wajer 55S, which he purchased in December 2020, became famous during the Super Bowl LV victory parade when Brady famously tossed the Vince Lombardi trophy from it to another boat.
"The 55S is an amazing boat, and it's been an amazing boat for our family. I think the 77 will be a little bit more suited for what we need it for down here, which is a few more day trips and weekend trips," Brady said in a post-purchase interview.

Brady's net worth allows him these luxuries
The Wajer 77 offers an extra 22 feet of luxury compared to the 55S and boasts an interior designed by Van Oossanen Naval Architects and Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design. Equipped with three 900 Volvo Penta IPS engines, the yacht has a cruising speed of 30 knots and can reach a top speed of 37 knots.
Despite parting with the larger yacht, Brady's $300 million net worth, as estimated by CelebrityNetWorth, ensures that he can continue to enjoy such luxuries. The New England Patriots great's wealth, accumulated through an illustrious NFL career with an average annual salary of $30 million, allows him to indulge in high-end investments and hobbies.
Brady is a successful businessman
Beyond his yachts, Brady has diversified his portfolio with multiple business ventures. He owns a fitness brand called TB12, an NFT company named Autograph, and has stakes in the WNBA's Las Vegas Aces . Additionally, Brady has invested in a Major League Pickleball team and an electric race boat team known as Team Brady .
As Brady prepares to sell his Wajer 77, fans and potential buyers alike are eager to see who will next enjoy the NFL legend's lavish lifestyle on the water. For now, Brady remains content with his beloved Wajer 55S, ready for more family adventures and perhaps another iconic moment on the waves.

Breathtaking dream boats launching this year
Ready to discover the ultimate in nautical eye candy?
With the largest-ever superyacht poised to grace the high seas – and several other spectacular launches on the horizon – 2024 is tipped to be a truly unforgettable year for fans of floating palaces.
Click or scroll through to jump aboard the most hotly anticipated superyachts scheduled for delivery this year, from state-of-the-art explorers to a record-breaking model that's expected to cost a staggering $600 million.
All dollar amounts in US dollars.
Custom YS 75 Hybrid: Cost unknown
Ushering in a new generation of high-end eco explorers, this expedition vessel from Damen Yachting in the Netherlands boasts a hybrid propulsion system for zero-emission cruising. For the uninitiated, a hybrid propulsion system uses two or more forms of propulsion, such as a biofuel or diesel engine combined with an electric machine.
As buyers become increasingly aware of environmental concerns, naval architects and yachtbuilders are devising green-leaning vessels that don't compromise on style, luxury, or performance. Damen is among the firms leading the way.
Designed by innovative London studio Michael Leach Design and engineered in-house, the 247-foot Custom YS 75 Hybrid has cutting-edge features, including a touch-and-go helipad and a crane for deploying tenders.
It can accommodate 24 crew members and up to 12 guests across six staterooms and boasts plush entertaining areas.
Due to launch early this year, the innovative vessel will also be the first private superyacht equipped with commercial-grade cultivation pods to grow vegetables, further adding to its eco credentials. As for the price tag? Damen is keeping it firmly under wraps...
Blue Marlin and Custom 78: Cost unknown
Admiral Yachts, owned by The Italian Sea Group, is delivering two sensational superyachts this year, according to Boat International : the 256-foot Custom 78 a nd 253-foot Blue Marlin (pictured).
Sleek and elegant, Blue Marlin's exterior and interior are both the handiwork of prestigious Dutch studio Sinot Yacht Architecture and Design.
The superyacht accommodates 12 guests in six staterooms and offers them a wealth of amenities, including a 19-foot swimming pool, a private spa, and a helipad. Its more sustainable credentials include a lower-emission diesel-electric propulsion system.
Precious little is known about Admiral's super-secretive Custom 78 project, as noted by Boat International .
It's known that the superyacht's exterior has been designed by Igor Lobanov, the Barcelona-based Russian nautical designer who's renowned for his futuristic, mega-streamlined creations. (An example of his work is shown here.)
Admiral has yet to disclose the price of either Custom 78 or Blue Marlin .
Project Toro: Cost unknown
Türkiye's Turquoise Yachts is getting ready to sign off the 259-foot Project Toro . It's actually running behind schedule and was supposed to be delivered last year.
With the exterior and interiors designed by British studio Harrison Eidsgaard – which is behind some of the world's most luxurious private jets, in addition to its portfolio of yachts – the end result will undoubtedly be a feast for the eyes.
Project Toro's neoclassical exterior is a real head-turner, while its interiors – which apparently include "a huge Neptune Lounge," to quote Super Yacht Times – have been described by the design team as "the definition of serenity and calm."
The fully customized beauty, which was sold in 2021 for an undisclosed sum, can comfortably fit 14 guests in its seven staterooms, as well as providing space for 21 crew members. Amenities onboard include a beauty salon, gym, and swimming pool.
Al Reem: Cost unknown
Formally known as Silence , Al Reem is getting its finishing touches at the Bilgin shipyard in Türkiye's capital, Istanbul.
Spanning 263 feet, the superyacht showcases Bilgin's signature style – think razor-sharp exterior lines and a super-slender profile – with naval architecture by Turkish studio Unique Yacht Design. It's the third unit of Bilgin's 263 Series and the most advanced of the trio.
Silent by name, silent by nature: the superyacht was sold to a mystery owner in 2022 and the selling price hasn't been revealed. But it won't have come cheap, that's for sure.
Dreamed up by London's H2 Yacht Design, the modern interiors of the boat whisper quiet luxury. The eight suites (including three VIP cabins) can collectively accommodate up to 12 guests, and there's space for 18 crew members. Al Reem's amenities are top-notch too, with the beach club, gym, and movie theater just some of the standout features.
Project Vento: Cost unknown
Just weeks after Project Toro was sold in 2021, Turquoise Yachts found a buyer for Project Vento . As is the case with Project Toro , the identity of the owner and the price tag have not been divulged.
At 285 feet long, Project Vento is the largest superyacht ever built by Turquoise, with the company teaming up with long-time collaborator London's H2 Yacht Design to work on the boat's esthetics. The result? A distinctive two-tone white and blue exterior with soft, flowing lines.
The interiors are just as eye-catching, with the superyacht boasting a wealth of features.
For the billionaire who has everything, there's a helipad that can also be used as an outdoor movie theater and basketball court. But the pièce de résistance has to be the incredible 21-foot glass-sided swimming pool on the lowest deck.
Project 1012: Cost unknown
With the venture cloaked in mystery, Feadship hasn't released any renders of Project 1012 and has yet to disclose information about the team behind it.
Based on images of the vessel undergoing trials in December 2022, Megayacht News has speculated that it could be traditional in design and may feature a beach club. However, these details won't be confirmed until the superyacht is delivered sometime this year – so watch this space...
Project 1012 is another Feadship superyacht that's slated for delivery in 2024.
The shipyard is being particularly secretive about the vessel, with details extremely sketchy. While we know that the superyacht is 300 feet long, further information about the vessel is next to non-existent.
Project JASSJ: Cost unknown
Spanning 338 feet, Project JASSJ is the third-largest of the show-stopping superyachts German shipbuilder Lürssen is delivering in 2024.
Sold in 2021 to an anonymous buyer for an undisclosed price, the superyacht features exterior and interior design by RWD Design. American firm Moran Yacht & Ship is overseeing the build.
Fantastically spacious, Project JASSJ can accommodate 22 guests in 11 staterooms.
Lürssen isn't holding back when it comes to amenities, promising an "industry-leading" beach club, as well as a swimming pool, deck Jacuzzi, top-end gym, and elevator, along with a state-of-the-art helipad and side-opening tender garage.
105 Explorer (NB-729): Cost unknown
Hot on the heels of delivering the 367-foot Renaissance (NB-724) , the largest ever yacht crafted in Spain (and shown here in all its glory), Freire's Galician shipyard is set to complete another whopper: 105 Explorer (NB-729) , which comes in at 344 feet.
Renaissance has been described by Burgess Yachts as a "temple of leisure" and "sanctum of tranquillity." But 105 Explorer (NB-729) is more about adventure than relaxation...
The superyacht may be kitted out with all the classic creature comforts but, as a roving expedition vessel, the emphasis is on performance rather than amenities.
Reflecting other high-end shipbuilders, Freire has chosen to keep the price of the superyacht a secret in the interest of client confidentiality.
Ace 21: Cost $150 million
Ace 21 is one of four show-stopping superyachts that Germany's Lürssen is delivering this year.
Extending over 256 feet end to end, the glamorous vessel spans five decks – the superyachts we've covered so far have just four – and has been designed to provide five-star relaxation in the world's most idyllic locations. It can accommodate up to 14 guests and a crew of 24.
Lürssen, which has taken care of the naval architecture, has reportedly designed the superyacht so it can cruise closer to shorelines and dock alongside paradise-style beaches and coves.
Ace 21 is all about relaxation – and its designated wellness zone, complete with an extensive spa, beach club, and deck Jacuzzi, combine to make it the perfect place to kick back, millionaire style.
SuperYachtFan reports the vessel was ordered by an unnamed individual who's said to be a prominent figure in the yachting world. The site pegs Ace 21 's price tag at $150 million and estimates annual running costs could stretch as high as $15 million.
Project 825: Cost $186 million
On the other hand, the asking price for Feadship's Project 825 has been revealed.
Due for delivery later in the year, the 249-foot superyacht is currently available for $186 million via Burgess Yachts.
Newly-built vessels of this size and caliber are usually custom orders, so it's rare for one to come on the market. The yacht is likely to be snapped up by a member of the super-rich elite who doesn't have the patience to wait years for a bespoke job .
The turnkey superyacht, which is getting its finishing touches at the Feadship Royal Van Lent shipyard in the Netherlands, has a slick two-tone exterior by Feadship's De Voogt Naval Architects. Its chic interiors are courtesy of Parisian design house Gilles & Boissier.
Project 825 has six staterooms with space for 12 guests, who'll have their every whim catered to by 17 crew members. Among its key selling points are an awesome glass-bottomed swimming pool and a private VIP terrace that boasts its own Jacuzzi.
There's also a sauna, deck gym, games room, and touch-and-go helipad, as well as an elevator.
Project 712: Cost $200 million+
Feadship is practically churning out superyachts at the moment, with multiple deliveries scheduled this year. Project 712 is among them.
The 272-foot vessel features an exterior design by Feadship's De Voogt Naval Architects. Unlike the aforementioned Project 825 , however, the interiors are the work of top Dutch firm Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design, not French studio Gilles & Boissier.
Because Feadship is selling Project 825 , the price has been revealed – but Project 712 's cost is being kept firmly under wraps. Given its larger dimensions, it's likely to be even more expensive than its sister vessel.
The superyacht has space for up to 10 guests across its five cabins, according to YachtCharterFleet, and comes equipped with a wealth of billionaire-worthy amenities, including a beach club, a gym, and a deck Jacuzzi.
Project 821: Cost $200 million+
The biggest Feadship superyacht launching this year – not to mention the largest the Dutch company has ever built – is Project 821 , which spans 390 feet.
Feadship is being as secretive about this superyacht as it is with Project 1012 , with very few details known about it.
The exterior design is characterized by soft lines, and there's a capacious beach club to the rear of the superyacht that leads down to a swimming platform... And that's all we know.
Both the buyer and the price of Project 821 are being kept hush-hush, though the superyacht is likely to have cost considerably more than the smaller Project 825 , which is on the market for $186 million.
Project Deep Blue: Cost $450 million
The second-biggest of Lürssen's four superyachts expected to launch this year, Project Deep Blue may not be delivered to its owner until 2025, according to several expert forecasts.
Details about the project are scant. Even the final length of the superyacht is uncertain, but it's believed to measure at least 427 feet.
No doubt the owner is delighted with the sophisticated exterior design, which bears similarities to Lürssen's Ahpo (now named Lady Jorgia).
SuperYachtFan reports Project Deep Blue is expected to accommodate 24 guests and a crew of 45. It estimates the vessel would cost a staggering $450 million, with punishing yearly running costs of $45 million. The website has vaguely identified the owner as an Indian or Chinese billionaire.
Project Luminance: Cost $500 million (£392m)
The biggest of Lürssen's four show-stopping superyachts hitting the water in 2024, Project Luminance spans a whopping 475 feet, making it almost as long as three Olympic-sized swimming pools.
The superyacht was originally slated for completion last year, but the delivery date has since been put back. A masterpiece of nautical design, Project Luminance wows thanks to its exterior by Monaco-based Espen Øino and equally elegant interiors by French studio Zuretti Interior Design.
Project Luminance is estimated to accommodate as many as 24 guests across 12 opulent staterooms. Amenities are fantastically lavish, with the vessel reportedly boasting two helipads and a massive swimming pool, which comes complete with an adjacent dip pool.
Reported to cost in excess of $500 million, Project Luminance was commissioned by Rinat Akhmetov, the richest person in Ukraine.
A report in The New York Times in 2022 suggested Akhmetov was considering selling the vessel in light of Russia's invasion of his home country. Still, it appears the billionaire might have decided to keep it for now. And who can blame him?
Somnio: Cost $600 million (£470m)
Putting this year's other launches firmly in the shade, Somnio spans a colossal 728 feet, making it the largest superyacht ever built.
The world's first "yacht-liner," this $600 million floating palace for the mega-rich is billed as "the most exclusive address in the world" and will cruise the planet's iconic yachting destinations, from Monaco to French Polynesia.
Somnio features 39 luxe private residences and a wealth of "six-star" amenities, including an enormous resort-style swimming pool, premium spa, opulent movie theater, gourmet restaurants, 10,000-bottle wine cellar, and a library.
Nearing completion at Norway's Vard shipyard, the six-deck nautical extravaganza is a collaboration between Somnio, Fincantieri, and Vard, while Tillberg Design of Sweden and the UK's Winch Design have looked after the interior design.
The potential occupants of the 39 apartments are being carefully hand-picked. On offer are units with two to four bedrooms, with the option to fully customize them with the likes of a gym, personal kitchen, library, and more.
Those lucky enough to get a Somnio invite can expect to pay from $22 million to secure a cabin in the elite vessel, with service charges likely to be sky-high too.

Interior design
Aboard a yacht, great spaces need not be the most glamorous or luxurious – it is how personal and interesting they are, how much they reflect its owner and their character, which lends a profound welcome..
At Sinot, interiors are designed to the highest standards and customized according to the wishes of the clients, imprinting their personality, ambitions, background and achievements. Each detail of the layout and space is skillfully crafted and shaped, while incorporating technical innovation. Rare woods and veneers are integrated with the finest fabrics, leathers and bespoke metals and glass, combined with custom-built interiors and furniture.
The interior and exterior design, styling and furniture present the yacht as a ‘total work of art’, with multiple art and craft forms to create an overall design. This aesthetic term, which has been used in architecture from the renaissance to the days of early modernism, encapsulates all conceivable exterior and interior design aspects; the overall styling, integration of innovative technology, space planning aboard, the use of daylight and artificial light, architectural details, comfort, furniture design, custom decoration and art pieces.
The Structure of Space
Super yachts, as both extremely elaborate pieces of professional equipment and meticulously crafted and superbly-detailed luxurious homes, require a balanced and highly-organized spatial structure. Planning and designing its form, space and ambience to incorporate functional, technical, social, environmental and aesthetic considerations within a restricted space perimeter demands the most from all professionals involved in the yacht realization process.
The most important objective for our team of designers is to harmonize all space demands and the best possible routing. Routes are intertwined, horizontally, across the decks, and vertically, between the decks, and need to be in compliance with classification and regulations. The routes must be guided to the functional needs of the owner and his guests, with the most efficient use of space to give them the maximum amount of space aboard. Routing for crew is designed for seamless invisible service and for smooth operation of all behind-the-scenes processes.
The Art of Lighting
Capable of enhancing and enriching the visual experience aboard, light is a multi-faceted element affecting color, functionality, aesthetics, health, atmosphere, safety, intimacy and comfort. We always aim to find the perfect balance between daylight and artificial light. Naturally versatile, daylight is maximized with large windows and fold-away façades. Shading is provided by layering the window dressing to adjust to different climates and weather types. Artificial light is positioned to merge with the daylight, allowing a smooth transition between the brightest of daylight, via the mellow tones of twilight, into the blackness of the darkest night.
Sinot works with state-of-the-art, digitized and computerized light control systems, sensors and LED light sources to allow flexible application of light. The beauty of light is showcased by skillful choice of fixtures or custom-designs loose lighting fixtures of the finest materials, which are in perfect balance with the interior design of the yacht to create an overall personal and intimate atmosphere.
The Importance of Detailing
An architectural detail is a small part of the whole, explicit enough to characterize and define the entire yacht. They portray what a design is and are fundamental to the personality of a space and indicative of the designer’s attitude toward the design in general. In this respect, a detail is architecture at its smallest size, from man-size to miniscule. Sinot’s mastery in craftsmanship and design comes to life in joining the different functionalities, materials and designs. True quality, whether of technical, aesthetic or spiritual nature, can be distinguished in details. Connections between walls and ceilings, skirting boards, decorative material endings, an intricate handrail, refined tap or a door handle can make the difference and all cooperate to achieve a lasting and quintessential quality result.
The Touch of Comfort
Comfort can be induced by a variety of conditions within our habitat and in the built environment, such as ergonomics and functionality, use and interaction, experience and mood, touching and feeling, contrast and harmony. They all are an integral part of the design processes at Sinot and the Sinot design team takes pride in working with the client to align the different disciplines to achieve true comfort.
Spatial comfort is a key concern, addressing the visual senses, sound and climate. Sinot ensures daylight and artificial light are adjustable and easy to operate, the use of materials to allow for a natural sound, filtering away rumble and exterior noise and state-of-the-art climate settings which are highly customized for individual preferences.
The array of materials, fabrics and textures surrounding us are responsible for the sensation of physical comfort to the touch; they are always sourced by Sinot from the world’s best suppliers.
Custom built Furniture
Most clients dream about a yacht created to match their desires, reflecting their personality, their ambitions and achievements. Custom furniture is a significant part of this dream and it should fit as one with the yacht, but should also stand as a piece of art, provide the ultimate in comfort and functionality.
At Sinot, the finest woods and veneers are used, combined with exclusive fabrics and leathers and elaborately polished metals. Unrivaled craftsmanship and the use of rich surface technologies in the finishes underscore the choice of components. Furniture hardware such as pulls and knobs are custom designed and built to add a notable finishing touch, both visually and in terms of handling. Custom-built pieces in limited editions create a lasting impression of quality. Furnishing and fabrics allow for further personalization of the furniture aboard the yacht.
Arts & Crafts
In the world of bespoke luxury, the difference is in ultimate refinement. A handmade stitching or a hand-built door handle, custom-designed decoration or exclusive art pieces and priceless antiques. Designed or selected by the Sinot design team for their exclusivity, character, style and personality in compliance with the overall design, giving the yachts a special touch that makes them personal and exceptional.
Dedicated Inspiration
Artists and craftsmen from all over the world, whatever their specialism or discipline, agree on one thing: the best and most beautiful things in the world must be felt within the heart..
“Art is not what you see, but what you make others see” stated a famous artist more than a century ago, referring to the mirroring role of art. Art reflects the dreams and desires of its owner and paints a picture about personality and characteristics, yet defies any rationale by adding mystery and autonomy under the veil of exquisite beauty.
Dedicated to inspiration, craftsmanship and the arts, the Sinot team works closely with clients to explore the use of art pieces and decorative objects. A close cooperation with an exclusive group of globally esteemed artists and galleries enables clients to either make selections from famous collections or commission pieces, according to their taste and budget. For decoration, Sinot selects or designs desirable objects, wall panels, sculptures, glassware objects and refined accessories to complete the design and make the yacht as unique as its owner.

The Musings of a Hopeless Wanderer
Engaging in the eternal search for the meaning of life...or a good time.

Tackling moscow by train and boat.
Our first full day in Moscow started fairly late since we were still catching up on sleep. Around 1, we finally were able to get our act together and get out the door.
We stopped by a cafe to get some breakfast and headed over to the Red Square. Since the festival is going on, we had to go through metal detectors. Once we cleared security, we reached the State Historical Museum which provided an entrance to the Red Square.
We walked the length of the Red Square, passing by the Kazan cathedral.
Under normal conditions, the Red Square is a large walking area with the State Historical Museum on one end and St. Basil's on the other end. On the sides is the Kremlin wall on one side and then the GUM shopping mall and the Kazan cathedral on the other side. Presently, the walking area has been considerably narrowed and the fesitval grounds occupying a large space between the Kremlin and the mall.
We even asked a stranger to take our picture!
After walking around the Red Square, we had to leave to meet up with our Metro Tour.
Moscow has famously pretty metro stations so metro tours are quite popular. We booked a relatively inexpensive tour through a tour group which met outside of the Red Square.
On our way, we passed by the Kremlin gardens and the tomb to the unknown soldier and the eternal flame.
We soon met up with our group which, fortunately, was only 5 people. Our guide told us that we were going to visit 8 stations during the 1.5 hour tour.
Honestly, a lot of the stations blended in to me so I won't be able to give you a detailed description of all of them. However, I did learn that there are 222 metro stations and the trains come every 2-3 minutes reliably. For that reason, Moscow > DC.
One of the first metro stations we visited had bronze statues all over of various depictions. Many of the statues had superstitions tied to them. For example, for a statue of the dog, it's held that if you rub the nose of the dog, you'll have good luck. Consequently, most of the statue is tarnished - except for the nose. I joked to Tomas that they probably rotate the "good luck" portion of the statue to ensure the entire statue gets polished.
However, I do remember some of the stations.
Novoslobodskaya is a station adorned with stained glass on the walls.
There was also Belarusskaya, which paid tribute to Belarus.
Another station which name I cannot remember but had pretty mosaics in the ceilings.
My favorite station was Komsomolskaya. It's the busiest station and a hub for other connecting trains. It was built during Statlin times and he wanted the station to embody beauty to set a good first impression to Russia.
I'd seen pictures of it beforehand since it's the most famous but it's so much more impressive in person.
Look at these ceilings!
Overall it was a very interesting tour. Not sure of any other city which could offer a metro tour. DC certainly can't...
After the tour, we headed back of the hotel to rest for a bit. We had purchased tickets to a tour hour boat down the Moscow river. The tickets were good for any time on any day and the boats left every 20min. We decided to knock the tour out that day and headed over to the pier.
We arrived at the pier and saw a boat by the company we had purchased from boarding. We approached and they shook their head and said it wasn't the right boat.
So we waited for another boat.
Another boat came along by the same company we had purchased from so weapproached them. Again - we were told it wasn't the right boat and the boat we were looking for was coming.
A third boat came along which was NOT by the company we had purchased from. By this point, it had been longer than 20min waiting and I was starting to suspect that the correct boat was actually one of the ones which turned us away. We approached the 3rd boat to ask if they knew which boat we should be on. However, when we approached, they waved us aboard without scanning our tickets.
So, we boarded the 3rd boat....which was definitely not ours.
We settled into an upper deck, open air table to take in the views.
We passed by pretty buildings.
The somewhat impressive cathedral of Christ the Savior.
This random statue.
After about hour on the cruise, Tomas remarked that it had been about an hour so we should be turning around soon. I reminded him that we actually had no idea how long this cruise was or where we would be dropped off. Since we were on the wrong boat.
Fortunately, it did turn around and took us back to the pier.
For dinner, we decided to go to this burger place, Black Star Burger, which our guide told us about. Tomas really liked his - I thought mine was OK. It was a decent size patty with a mountain of Cole slaw on top. We've realized that apparently Russians dislike getting their hands dirty while eating so some restaurants will give out gloves to use. This particular restaurant gave out black gloves.
Tomas modeling our dinner.
Since little mum has been asking about pictures which show my feet, I assume she wanted to see my new shoes. I recently bought Allbirds which are suppose to be super comfortable walking shoes which you wear without socks and can be washed. I didn't wear them too extensively beforehand, so that was probably my first error. I also didn't bring another pair of good walking shoes, which was likely my second error. The Allbirds were great the first two days without socks. Midway through the third day, my right foot was quite unhappy. Left foot was a trooper. So, now I have a bandaid on the heel of my right foot and wear socks.

5 Ways Sinot’s wild Symmetry concept breaks the mould
The bi-directional superyacht.
Is this yacht coming at you or sailing away from you? Are you looking at the aft or the bow? If you think you know the answer, well think again.
Sinot Exclusive Yacht Design has premiered Symmetry, a wild concept for a “bi-directional” and symmetrical 180 metre yacht.
The yacht has the same shape at its aft as it does as its bow, and it can be sailed in either direction, so you're forgiven if you're confused for a moment and not know if you’re seeing the yacht running towards you or heading away.
Sinot calls this a “revolutionary” design, and it’s certainly anything but traditional. The bi-directional cruising capability is just one way that the Symmetry superyacht concept breaks the mould.
Symmetry is built from the center out
Symmetry has a unique layout that was designed from the middle of the yacht heading out towards the bow and aft. Sinot used this method both as a means to “transform traditional yacht design” and to improve functionality and flow on board as well as enhance manoeuvrability when underway.
“The yacht’s layout is created by symmetrically building up from the centre, instead of using the traditional linear set up,” says designer Sander Sinot. “Functions on the decks are organised around the central void with an intuitive logic. The symmetrical shape of the hull allows for a bi-directional course at sea, tight manoeuvres and pivoting, ensuring comfortable tender transfers on the lee side of the lower deck’s mid-ship beach lounge.”
Symmetry is all about space
Symmetry has an LOA of 180 metres and a beam of 29 metres, providing an interior volume of more than 18,000GT and exterior living space of more than 1,000 square metres. The Symmetry superyacht concept is designed to accommodate 34 guests and 48 crew, with each deck designated for a particular function.
The mid-ship beach deck, pictured above, has a float-in tender garage and seawater pool while the guest deck has a glass bottom pool and VIP staterooms with balconies. The hotel deck boasts amenities such as the spa, dining area, bar and lounges, a garden space and another 17 metre pool. The wheelhouse has dual helms to accommodate the bi-directional running, and the lower deck is where you would find the cinema and kids’ playroom.
Symmetry is designed around the owner
While her name and looks might imply literal symmetry, Sander Sinot says the aim was more to create harmony on board than formal symmetry and design a yacht around the owner. There is an entire deck dedicated to the owner, with a stateroom, private spa, library, skylounge and exterior lounge with infinity water feature, as pictured above.
“Symmetry reflects a genuine owner centered philosophy of the yacht as a custom-designed private estate, moving freely over the world’s oceans, offering an abundance of space to welcome beloved ones to indulge, work, play and enjoy life.”
Is Symmetry technically feasible?
Is this a wild yacht design that is likely to be built , or just a wild concept? If you’re wondering how technically feasibly Symmetry is, her designers say very. They developed a 3D model of the yacht, which they shared with naval architects BMT Nigel Gee who, “confirmed technical feasibility,” according to Sinot.
BMT Nigel Gee provided in-depth input, which Sander Sinot and his team are using to further develop this unique and symmetrical superyacht.

Poetry Philosophy
“…Living close to the water in perfect harmony with the aquatic environment; a seamless experience of the highest quality with loved ones aboard your private yacht…”
We invite you to explore Poetry, our tribute to yachting.
Our philosophy truly drives development without compromises. The result is a yacht with a poetic existence within the water, having an excellent inside-out connection to the sea. A fully open superstructure has unobstructed decks and expansive views of the skies, shores, waves, clouds, birds, sea-life, coastlines, and sunrises. Sun and daylight are its meter, cherished for their warmth and tantalizing enlightenment. Looming deckheads cast shadows and offer coolness with the breeze.
Inside atmosphere, mood and emotion are defined by the poetry of space arrangements. To go to the higher deck, towards the sun, is to withdraw in privacy, step by step, to the private dominion of the owner’s quarters. Going down through vast lounges and wide corridors it to lose oneself at each deck with views of distant horizons, while entering spaces of greater shared hospitality. The last descent is through a grand open staircase into a lower deck sanctuary dedicated to wellness and well-being.
The stanza of the design is aesthetical timelessness, where purity of form combines with elegance in proportion. Ultra-bespoke exterior and interior elements will create a quality impression on another level. Imagine the best builders, artisans, and craftsmen, building this yacht for one owner only: providing true value by perfectly complementing the personality of the owner, accommodating his or her art pieces and objects of desire.
Sander J. Sinot
Yachting without compromise.
“For years, we have had the privilege to present a new yacht concept at the Monaco Yacht Show, to share our vision of the future of yacht design and inspire clients and the industry. For 2022’s MYS edition, we developed Poetry – a new, thematic approach to yacht design. It all starts with the dreams of the owner. For him or her we explore the inner values of space and how we live our lives with a mixture of elements that people normally do not think about. There is poetry behind everything, and all have a story to tell.
This is a poetic concept inspired by the flexibility you find in resorts, where you have private sections, while the beach, spa, dining, and lounges are shared more informally, however you and your guests wish. Design and use of the yacht becomes less formal and more genuine. It is more like ‘home’. We address topics like the emotions of natural state and recomposed materials and living with our personal art pieces in intimate environments. To accommodate this, the design and use of the yacht becomes utterly relaxed and embracing and more like a private resort at sea.
Beyond exclusivity, we see Poetry as subtle, harmonious, dedicated – and personal. Limitations can be overcome by pushing boundaries with more detail, more innovation, more personality, more stories, more fun. Owners nowadays are freer to explore the world than ever. They can be out on yachting trips while working, bringing their families, friends, and entourage along with them. They want to share it with others and have them enjoy it with you. Poetry is the yacht where dreams are made in an inconspicuous way, without compromise.”
Architectural geometry
Next generation yacht design.
The strong exterior lines of Poetry are driven by hydrodynamics and architecture – a solid nautical platform, hosting an open-space plan defined by three-dimensional thinking, to precisely accommodate functions, needs, and desires. Transparency and openness are the hallmarks of the superstructure, offering undisturbed views and unobstructed deck space.
Connection with the water is all-encompassing thanks to the seamless connection between interior and exterior, the floor-to-ceiling glass windows and six huge fold-down hatches at the lower deck beach lounge. The large exterior decks culminate in the aft deck exterior beach with infinity pool, slowly descending towards sea level. The extendable swimming platforms offers access to the water and act as a mooring spot for private limo tenders.
space & light
A new approach to yacht interiors.
Poetry emphasizes ‘‘poetic design” – the philosophy that embraces the dreams, needs, and desires of the owner in a natural way. The focus is on the use of the yacht, for true integration of dreams and desires. The interior layout is based on a mathematical grid, allowing flexibility while avoiding loss of useable space. Careful use of proportions and aspect-ratios has resulted in a pure space experience, maximizing ceiling heights and interior serenity.
The prime real estate aboard, the highest deck, is reserved for the owner’s suite and the owner’s pavilion. One deck below we find private dining with an open kitchen, a large multi-media cinema and an exploration room, for charting routes together with the captain. Lower decks contain VIP and Guest cabins, the wheelhouse, dining & lounging, and extensive wellness, and wellbeing, as well as secure sea-access at the Beach Club.
OWNER’S Pavilion
Prime of poetry.
Poetry reinvents yacht design by relocating the wheelhouse to a more functional spot at the front. This makes the prime location of Poetry available to the most important user: the owner. A key point is the open space plan of the owner’s pavilion, which is highly secluded – no crew, guests or others need be at this deck, unless invited.
The bedroom is located aft and offers unhindered views and an endless sightline over the wake. At the exterior deck there is a seating arrangement for an intimate breakfast or lunch. Everything in the owner’s pavilion, from the bed combination to the chairs and rugs, is completely custom-designed and meticulously crafted from the finest and sustainable natural materials.
OWNER’S BATHROOM
Symmetry & harmony.
Poetry’s master bathroom is accessed directly from the bedroom section in the owner’s pavilion by the open side passages. His and her dressing units are located at starboard and portside in a striking symmetrical setup, connected by the ultra-wide his-and-her vanity. The open shower unit is located right on the axis of the yacht and offers a stunning open view to the forward deck.
The private counter current pool for bathing or exercising starts in the bathroom and runs onto the forward exterior deck for ultimate refreshment in the sea breeze. This exterior deck is perfectly fit for a light morning workout, yoga, or Pilates – or just a brief walk to take in the freshness of the morning. The sense of harmony is reinforced by amazing views over the ocean; scenery that can be enjoyed everywhere from the owner’s pavilion.
Recharge & explore
Located just below the owner’s deck, the upper deck forward of Poetry houses a dining table for intimate dinners and an exploration room. These are primarily for the owners and special guests invited into the owner’s private space. Everything contributes towards an ambience in which the owner, family and friends can truly unwind from the tensions of daily life.
The open kitchen next to the dining table provides a unique experience for the owner or a private chef to share fresh ingredients like fish and other seafood, prepared on the spot. Adjacent is the exploration room, where the owner and captain can plan the next voyage of Poetry. Integrated media at the wall visually document and support navigation, making this space the virtual control centre of Poetry.
Upper Deck cinema
Ultimate sound & vision.
At the aft of Poetry, a large private cinema is located on the upper deck. There, viewers can relax in custom-designed furniture combining ultimate comfort with fine detailing and rich fabrics. Natural materials and a balanced application of grids and wood structures define the space in well-proportioned sections.
With all blinds closed, there is dedicated focus on the main screen., supported by the the integrated movie theatre system. When the blinds are up, one could easily forget where the interior ends and the outside begins, as both cease to feel like separate spaces: freedom, relaxation and comfort are constant factors.
Embracing hospitality
Located on Poetry’s main deck, close to the waterline, the VIP suites stand out thanks to their spacious design and highly elaborate furniture. The rooms offer VIP guests the best possible environment in which to enjoy their time on board, combining optimal use of space with perfect ocean views through the giant floor to ceiling windows.
The VIP suites are focused on openness, luxury, and natural comfort, providing a maximum sense of freedom in a highly detailed personal style setting. Textured carpets made of reclaimed material, fully customized furniture pieces in sustainable woods and the use of multiple textures in wall and ceiling panelling all create an atmosphere of embracing hospitality.
VIP suite BATHROOM
En suite enjoyment.
The spacious VIP suite bathrooms aboard Poetry are connected to the bedroom section of the VIP suite itself, sharing an elongated loggia. Foldable sliding doors provide a semi-open connection and structure the space. The centrepiece is the lowered large tub of precious Hinoki wood, perfectly positioned for excellent views at the seascape.
The half-open shower unit, with hydrotherapic rainfall shower head and multiple jets, is located forward and created out of a vividly patterned natural stone. Every detail of the VIP bathroom reflects an innate sense of proportion, flawless workmanship, and authentic craftsmanship.
MAIN DECK DINING
Banqueting in style.
Located at the aft exterior deck section of Poetry, the beam-wide dining table can host up to 20 guests and can be easily extended to up to 40 guests if desired. By this, it can serve breakfast, lunches or dinners for family, friends, and acquaintances, and is an integral part of days and nights of festivities hosted at the Beach Club and on the exterior pool deck.
The aft glass façade can fold away for a true all-fresco experience and open access to the pool deck. Most of the time on board will be spent outside, which means providing excellent hospitality services and comfort is vital for maximizing quality time, whether this involves dining, partying, relaxing, or enjoying poolside drinks at sunset.
MAIN DECK LOUNGE
World of relaxation.
As the gateway to the lower deck Beach Club, the main deck lounge is the place for guests, family, and friends to gather and prepare for a new day aboard Poetry. All the amenities and pleasures in terms of wellness, wellbeing, relaxation, and sports of the Beach Club are within easy reach.
The relaxing lounge setting makes this part of the deck great for spending memorable times with family and friends. The inside and outside of this vast space feel connected by the floor-to-ceiling glass windows. The lounge furniture has been completely custom-made by the finest craftsmen and is upholstered in soft fabrics with ton-sur-ton piping.
Guest State Rooms
Transparent tranquility.
The main deck forward of Poetry is where the guest state rooms and their loggias are located, situated in such a way the beds always face the ocean, with full height glass windows providing maximum views. Guest state rooms are a tranquil place for retreat and rest, distinguishing themselves through their subdued luxury and pure design.
The feeling of natural design is reinforced by custom-made furniture such as the bed, bedside tables, lounge chair and desk with ottoman. The dressing room, connected to the state room by a glass sliding wall, is equipped with exclusively crafted furniture. As with all furniture aboard Poetry, this has been custom designed and is in unison with the rest of the interior.
GUEST BATHROOM
Refresh & retreat.
All guest bathrooms aboard Poetry are done in a minimalist, pure style. The spacious bathrooms are equipped with large showers with rain shower features and a floating natural stone vanity with integrated basins. Natural materials with rich textures provide a tactility that stimulates the senses.
The sophisticated use of materials, using warm tones and neutral indirect lighting, creates an intimate, home-like atmosphere. The color and material schemes create a sense of tranquillity and unity, amplified by the large wall piece of artisanal mastership opposite the vanity.
Grand Space of Wellbeing
Re-inventing the beach club.
Poetry offers the opportunity to create a new plan for the yacht, based on owner wishes, dreams and appreciation. This leads to the introduction of the grand space of wellbeing and wellness at the lower deck interior: the Beach Club with the Hamman and Sauna as gatekeepers of the vast Gym and the Beauty Salon, with its hairdressing, nail and beauty treatment and massage stations.
These cater for owner and family, loved ones and guests, offering privacy and dedication, like a private resort. The vastness of the greater Beach Club area allows for inviting larger groups; from the shore, other yachts or helicoptered-in special guests, artists, and performers. It is a unique social space to meet and greet families, friends, and acquaintances, and dance the night away.
Sea level indulgencies
The Beach Club of Poetry is a multi-purpose space, to linger and come together prior and after a spa experience, work-out or beauty treatment. A small sea-side bar with terrace on the hatch serves drinks and light lunches. Comfortable seating corners, lounge beds, and huge sofa arrangements cater for any type of social gathering.
The epitome of chill is the sea pool, created by lowering one of the hatches under the sea level, extending a filtering bulwark and allowing the seawater to rush in for a truly exciting saltwater dip. At the vide, equipped with a sensational glass art piece on the floor, an elegant circular staircase connects the main deck lounge with the Beach Club.
Water level work-out
Poetry’s gym at the lower deck aft Beach Club provides a sensational experience with its immense, room-wide hatch that opens to reveal the ocean’s surface at water level. The sliding glass wall can be completely or partially opened to live the dream of exercising on your own floating island in the ocean.
The indirect lighting behind the rhythm of the wooden ceiling structure provides an atmosphere of focus and dedication. A yoga space, with mats and silk hammocks for aerial yoga to stretch muscles and mind, is located next to a complete workout floor, for a total body workout.
Beauty Salon
Cheerful sharing.
Part of Poetry’s Beach Club is the beauty salon with hairdressing, nail and beauty treatment and massage stations. The serene atmosphere in a highly detailed but minimalist style under the refined wooden ceiling with indirect light provides a focus on individual treatment, while the openness of the space allows for sharing, caring, and laughter.
Guests can enjoy amazing views over the seascape outside while getting beauty treatments, facial massages, hairdressing sessions or full massage treatments. Matte natural stone skilfully treated timber wall panelling and natural materials all help to create a relaxing atmosphere.
Hamman & Sauna
Soothing steam, healing heat.
The Beach Club at the lower deck of Poetry is where health and wellness facilities are grouped together, as part of a world of physical and mental serenity, where well-being, relaxation, joy, and fun merge into an overall experience of dream-like transition.
The experience of the Hamman is heightened using the reconstructed backlit onyx for floor and ceiling, and marble for benches and walls. Both at the Hamman and the Sauna, there is a wall-wide giant flatscreen that can be used to showcase anything desired.
Forward control, integrated technology
Poetry’s wheelhouse, located under the main deck forward, is designed as a cockpit, creating both a great working environment and a spectacular space in which the owner and guests can take in the operation of the yacht. Behind the captain’s and first officer’s seats comfortable sofas are located for this.
Digital technologies like sensors, cameras, live communication technologies and sail-by-wire systems replace traditional facilities such as wing stations and look-out posts. Much of this equipment is located and controlled from the workstations at the command-and-control centre located under the wheelhouse, accessible by a direct staircase.
Building bridges
Engaging the future.
Finding the best location for the wheelhouse within the limited available space aboard a yacht requires balancing many factors to achieve the best outcome. Often, a high position is selected, sacrificing excellent space for owner’s use in the process. But because of new technology, arrangements can be reshuffled, freeing up space and moving areas of a yacht previously thought untouchable. Poetry therefore has the bridge on the main deck, just under the forward exterior deck at the bow, with direct access to a larger command-and-control centre and the ship’s office below at lower deck.

Tackling Moscow by Train and Boat Our first full day in Moscow started fairly late since we were still catching up on sleep. Around 1, we finally were able to get our act together and get out the door. We stopped by a cafe to get some breakfast and headed over to the Red Square. Since the festival is going on, we had to go through metal detectors.
Sinot used this method both as a means to "transform traditional yacht design" and to improve functionality and flow on board as well as enhance manoeuvrability when underway.
