All prices listed in this Website are in U.S. Dollars, unless otherwise specified. Promotions listed in this Website can be changed or withdrawn at any time.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Flexible: full refund within a limited period.

For cancellations by Guests, cancellation charges depend on when Island Routes receives notice of the cancellation. Minimum cancellation charges are as follows:

Hotel Guests:

24 hours or less: No Refund

48 hours or less: 50% Cancellation Fee

96 hours or less: 25% Cancellation Fee

96+ hours: Full Refund

Shore Excursions:

96 hours or more: Full Refund

Less than 96 hours: No Refund

G r oup Reservations:

60 days prior to tour date: Full Refund

45 days prior to tour date: 50% Cancellation Fee

30 days prior to tour date: 75% Cancellation fee

Less than 30 days prior to tour date: No Refund

All cancellations of, or changes are subject to applicable restrictions. Island Routes Tours will apply any payments made toward the purchase price against any cancellation charges and will refund any balance remaining after the payment of any charges. In order to receive a refund, if applicable, client must request and receive a cancellation confirmation number. The cancellation charges outlined above are liquidated damages and not a penalty. Holiday periods may be subject to additional cancellation charges. NO REFUNDS OR ADJUSTMENTS WILL BE MADE FOR ANY PORTION OF TOUR OR ATTENDANT SERVICES NOT UTILIZED.

Refund Policy: No refunds or adjustments will be made for any portion of your tour not utilized.

Changes to Reservations: All requested changes to reservations are subject to Island Routes' sole discretion, and any changes must be approved in writing.

PREPAID TOUR & EXCURSION RESERVATIONS

By reserving your tour and excursion, you authorize Island Routes Caribbean Adventures to book reservations for the total reservation price. You agree that your credit card will be charged by Island Routes Caribbean Adventures for the total reservation price.

BANK & CREDIT CARD FEES

Some banks and credit cards impose fees for cross-border transactions. By reserving your tour and excursion on this website, you may see an additional cost/fee appearing on your credit card statement. This fee is solely determined by your Bank and/or Credit Card Company and Island Routes Caribbean Adventures takes no responsibility for these associated costs. If you have any questions about these types of fees applied to your reservation, please contact your bank directly.

Sunisland Routes and/or Island Routes Tours, and the hotel, do not operate the tours, and for these purposes, the Operators of tours are independent contractors. The Operators of tours are solely responsible for their acts and omissions and Sunisland Routes and/or Island Routes Tours, and the hotel, assume no responsibility for such acts and omissions, or for any injury, loss, damage, sickness or accidents sustained on any of the tours offered for sale , including but not limited to any that occur on and/or during the tour, as well as before and after as part of and/or during transport to/from the tour ‐ again, to the exclusion of tours identified as being owned by Sunisland Routes and/or Island Routes Tours. Without any exclusion, however, Sunisland Routes and/or Island Routes Tours, and the hotel, shall not assume any responsibility for injury, loss or damage to any person that voluntarily participates in cliff diving at any location, including but not limited to Dunn's River Falls or Rick's Café, and/or to any person who voluntarily stops as part of and/or during transport to/from a tour at an unintended destination, meaning one that is separate and apart from the scheduled tour and/or destination. Individuals proceeding in such manner assume any and all responsibility and risk, as this is not a recommended activity. Guest HEREBY ACKNOWLEDGES AND AGREES that Sunisland Routes and/or Island Routes Tours, and the hotel, their parent corporation, affiliates, subsidiaries, insurers, directors, officers, employees, successors, assigns, agents or representatives, SHALL NOT BE LIABLE to Guest for liabilities, claims, actions, damages, cost or expense in any circumstances, for: (A) ANY PERSONAL INJURIES OR PROPERTY DAMAGE ARISING OUT OF OR CAUSED BY ANY ACT OR OMISSION ON THE PART OF ANY Guest(s) and/or Operators of tours, excluding tours identified as being owned by Sunisland Routes and/or Island Routes Tours; (B) EMOTIONAL DISTRESS, MENTAL SUFFERING, OR PSYCHOLOGICAL INJURY OF ANY KIND; OR (C) ANY CONSEQUENTIAL, INCIDENTAL, PUNITIVE OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES. This specifically includes but is not limited to liabilities, claims, actions, damages, cost or expense ARISING OUT OF OR CAUSED BY food or drink consumed at third party facilities belonging to third party Operators of tours.

SPECIAL REQUESTS

Sunisland Routes and/or Island Routes Tours cannot guarantee that it will satisfy special requests and we are not responsible if such requests are not met.

PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES

Persons with Disabilities: Sunisland Routes and/or Island Routes Tours cannot guarantee that transfer vehicles or tour sites are wheelchair accessible. However, if informed, we will endeavor to make the necessary arrangements. This may however come at an additional cost.

The undersigned Guest(s) irrevocably consents to and authorizes the use and reproduction by Sunisland Routes and/or Island Routes, or anyone authorized by Island Routes, of any and all photographic, video and other visual portrayal(s) of the undersigned Guest(s), their child or ward, for any purpose whatsoever, including but not limited to use in magazines, brochures, flyers, television, internet, and websites displays without further reference or compensation. All rights, title and interest therein (including all worldwide copyrights therein) shall be the sole property of Sunisland Routes and/or Island Routes, or anyone authorized by Island Routes, free from any claims by the undersigned Guest(s) and or any person deriving any rights or interest from such Guest, AND each undersigned Guest(s) UNDERSTANDS AND HEREBY KNOWINGLY AND VOLUNTARILY SO AGREES.

COMPLIANCE WITH LOCAL LAW

This agreement is governed by the laws of Jamaica. You hereby consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of courts in Jamaica, in all disputes arising out of or relating to the use of this Website. Use of this Website is unauthorized in any jurisdiction that does not give effect to all provisions of these terms and conditions, including, without limitation, this paragraph.

Although every Sandals all-inclusive resort has tons of complimentary activities onsite , you’ll probably also want to explore what the area has to offer. That’s where Sandals excursions come in. They cost extra but are super easy to arrange through the resort.

We did the Nicole’s Table cooking class, which was awesome. We also took the Antigua Safari and Stingray City tour, which was fun. After a 4×4 tour of the island and some historic sites, we had a Caribbean lunch at Betty’s Hope Plantation, then went via boat to Stingray City where you can pet and feed the stingrays, as well as swim and snorkel along the reef.

You can also go on excursions with local guide companies or through online vendors like Get Your Guide and Viator.

In between excursions, you’ll have lots of onsite Sandals Antigua activities to choose from. These include complimentary watersports like scuba diving, snorkeling, canoeing, kayaking, Hobie Cat sailing, windsurfing, and paddleboarding plus complimentary land activities like day and night tennis, beach volleyball, croquet, bocce ball, table tennis, pool, and board games.

Drunken Duck

For your honeymoon in Antigua, the most important thing you’ll need to pack is a passport! Antigua and Barbuda is an independent Commonwealth country comprising several islands, where the Atlantic and Caribbean meet. The area is known for its reef-lined beaches and rainforests. The English Harbour is a yachting hub and the site of historic Nelson’s Dockyard. The Sandals Grande Antigua is located in the esteemed Dickenson Bay beach area.

Additionally, pack essentials for several hours in the sun, plenty of sunscreen that is SPF 25 or higher. We also recommend 2-3 swimsuits, since you’ll be at the beach or resort pools almost every day. Include some type of cover-up also, such as an oversized t-shirt and hat. Water shoes would be a great addition to your Antigua & Barbuda packing list so you can comfortably explore the waterfalls and island terrain. For your Jeep excursions into the countryside, you will also want a pair of sneakers and athleisure clothing. Lightweight fabrics you can layer will also be key for long days in the sun. Think: linen shorts and 3-4 cotton tank tops or t-shirts.

Once the sun sets, be prepared with a little more formal attire, including closed-toes or heeled shoes. Also be sure to pack 3-4 dinner outfits that would fit the resort evening attire dress code at some of Sandals Grande Antigua restaurants, such as collared shirts and slacks for men and sundresses for women. Don’t forget a few sets of PJs, and essential medications and toiletries, although many of the Sandals bathrooms will provide the basics for honeymooners to help themselves to!

7 Day Itinerary at Sandals Grande Antigua

Day 1: settle in & have your first taste of caribbean rum.

V. C. Bird International Airport is an international airport located on the island of Antigua, 8 km northeast of St. John’s, the capital of Antigua and Barbuda.  For your stay at Sandals Grande Antigua, you’ll want to fly into this airport. Depending on which type of suite you booked, your airport transfer may be complimentary. If not, Sandals would still be happy to set it up for you!

Enjoy a cocktail upon arrival at one of the several bars located throughout the property, and settle into your suite before dining at one of Sandal’s 11 on-site restaurants this evening.

Day 2: Book a massage, explore the property, and relax by the pool

Feeling sore from the travel day? Head to Red Lane Spa to book an afternoon massage or spa service. Spend the morning relaxing by one of the property’s pools and strolling on the nearby beach.

Want to dine in one of the fine dining restaurants this evening or the next? Don’t forget to grab a reservation!

Day 3: Enjoy some watersports on the beach

Craving a little adventure after a day of R&R? Head down to the beach to enjoy complimentary Sandals watersports, such as kayaking and paddleboarding. Soak up the sun on the beach under an umbrella, and be sure to order a pina colada (or two!).

Day 4: Explore the best of Antigua & Barbuda

Explore the surrounding area today on your first island excursion! Get to know the island country’s terrain by horseback riding on the pristine white-sand beaches. Or journey on over to Antigua’s sister island, Barbuda, for a fun day at sea!

Day 5: Soak up the sun at Sandals

After a full-day excursion yesterday, you’re probably craving some more relaxation. The resort offers several land activities, including bocce! After your morning coffee and breakfast buffet, maybe explore the beach area a bit more or relax by the pool.

Perhaps tonight you dine at one of the included restaurants that don’t require reservations, such as Soy Sushi.

Day 6: Explore some more

If you opted for one of the off-the-beaten path excursions earlier on during your honeymoon, now is the time to explore some more at a more relaxed pace. Consider a catamaran cruise around the coast. On the contrary, if you already enjoyed a snorkel cruise, head into the countryside on a tour!

Pro-tip: Before you leave for the excursion, swing into one of the nicer restaurants to secure an evening restaurant for your last special night. Eleanor’s would be our recommendation if you haven’t dined there yet!

Day 7: Travel day

Enjoy one last breakfast buffet or morning room service (complete with coffee by the pool), before enjoying a final walk around the property. Travel from Sandals to the airport for your flight home to close out your dream honeymoon.

So, you’ve booked your vacation or resort stay in Antigua – what next? Choosing what you are going to do on this beautiful island! We have put together 5 of the best tours and excursions in Antigua – with all the details you need to make your visit truly memorable!

Sunset Catamaran Cruise Antigua

The sunset catamaran cruise is our favorite excursion when we visit any of the Caribbean islands and especially the Sandals resorts . The tour begins with sightseeing along the coast. There is an open bar included with appetizers as well. History, fun facts and beautiful scenery is provided by the knowledgeable captain as you leisurely make your way along the coast. There are other cruises available during different times of the day. Some cruises even include snorkeling . However, the sunset views from the water make this cruise our favorite.

After sailing for approximately 2 hours the catamaran turns around and heads back towards the resort. This is when the fun really begins. The lower the sun sinks down the more the music and the fun turns up. The crew leads everyone is dancing, singing and lots of entertainment. They are also available to take photos for you of the sunset. This trip is great for couples, best friends and groups. Our favorite excursion by far.

Antigua Rainforest Zipline & Eco-Kayak Experience

This excursion is perfect for the adventure lovers! Soar through the rainforest at 300ft high on 8 different ziplines . The views are absolutely breathtaking. After retuning to sea level the speedboat takes you through the beautiful waters of Antigua to the North Sound Marine Park for an amazing kayak adventure. The kayaking adventure takes you through some of the most beautiful mangroves where your guide will show you some of the unique marine life in the area.

The excursion also includes swimming and snorkeling on the Great Bird Island. Here you will have time to unwind and relax after the adventure and adrenaline rush of the morning. Before ending your day you will enjoy an authentic Antiguan lunch. This is a great excursion but definitely not recommended for anyone afraid of heights or anyone not looking for a physical challenge.

Horseback Beach Ride Antigua

For animal lovers this is another unique way to explore the island of Antigua. Whether you are an experienced rider or have never ridden a horse, the expert guides will make the adventure fun and safe. This 2+ hour boat ride was nice. Got out on the ocean, cruised up and down the coast, drank and danced in the warm sun and breeze. Met some fun and exciting people...(the boring people stayed in the back of the boat) LOL. Eat before you go (unless you get sea-sick easy) The "appetizers" served were boring and left me waiting until I returned to my hotel to eat. The entertainment on board and the eclectic passengers were the highlight of the tour. Go, enjoy the drinks and the people and don't forget to tip the staff, they deserve it!!!!!!!.

We did the catamaran trip with snorkling and then to Dunn's River falls. We had the best time. The crew was fun with dancing, drinks and food. Snorkling was good and the crew made sure everyone was safe. They were in the water with us. The best was climbing the falls. The guides were terrific. I never felt unsafe. Don't forget to tip them, they were great. They even had a guide there to use your camera to take pictures. It was a great experience.

My husband and I went on the catamaran to the falls and had an amazing time! Dj (geico) helped me snorkel showed me alot of interesting fish. We had a great time climbing the falls but the party on the way back was the best part of the trip! The crew got everyone dancing and it seemed like everyone had fun! The food was great and so were the drinks!!!!!

This was the most fun I've ever had on an excursion!!! The zip lining was awesome! Soo many traverses and the staff was very helpful! The bamboo river rafting was so romantic and beautiful. We had the best guide, messam! My boyfriend proposed to me on the raft and he gave us a beautiful speech. I recommend both of these excursions to anyone looking for fun or romance :D
