GENERAL CONDITIONS FOR PRIVATE SAILING BOATS 

1) The first payment over 50% of the total amount will be done by reservation.

2) The down payment will be done 15 days before the sailing excursion starts.

3) In case of cancellation due to weather circumstances, decision taken by the skipper of the boat, the amounts paid will be returned in its entirety and no cancellation fees will be charged.

4) If the cancellation is made unilaterally by the client, the cancellation costs will depend on how early it is communicated:

a) Bookings cancelled more than 90 days previously to the excursion will not incur cancellation charges. We will only deduct our administration fee of 15% of the deposit payment and we will refund the remaining 85%.

b) In case of cancellation notified within 90 days previously to the excursion, the cancellation costs will be 25% of the first payment corresponding only to the rental of the boat, or 12,5% of the total amount of the rental of the boat.

c) In case of cancellation notified within 60 days previously to the excursion, the cancellation costs will be 50% of the first payment corresponding only to the rental of the boat, or 25% of the total amount of the rental of the boat.

d) In case of cancellation notified within 30 days previously to the excursion, the cancellation costs will be 100% of the first payment corresponding only to the rental of the boat, or 50% of the total amount of the rental of the boat.

e) In case of cancellation notified within 15 days previously to the excursion, the cancellation costs will be 100% of the total amount including all services.

Reservamos nuestro viaje en barco en Cala Bona en el mar aventura en Cala Ratjada en el regreso por la costa el barco paró para nadar. el barco y luego fuimos por la costa hasta Sa Coma, Cala Millor y después volver a Cala Bona. El viaje en barco fue muy buena, el personal era muy bueno, con una excelente barco.

Nuestro segundo año viajar en este barco, esta vez de Calas de Mallorca hasta Cala Bona. Es la manera de viajar para una agradable experiencia. When is the best time for a catamaran rental in Mallorca?

The climate on the Mallorcan coast is pleasantly subtropical, with temperatures often between 24 °C and 30 °C onland in the summer months. Mallorca boasts approximately 300 days of sun a year. Precipitation is most frequent in the autumn months as the island sometimes experiences short but heavy downpours.

What are the sailing conditions like on the Balearic coast?

Unlike other less exposed areas of the Mediterranean, the swell can be particularly high around the Balearic Islands. Between March and June, the north wind Tramontana causes the swell to become high and steep. Even when there is no wind, a wind-based, old swell can occur.

Important climatic features: changing winds throughout the sailing season

If you are planning to rent a catamaran in Mallorca, it is important to be aware that the winds often change, depending on the time of year. Between March and June, you will encounter either the north wind Tramontana or the north-east wind Mistral. However, in July and August, you will find easterly to south-easterly winds instead. Following this, in September and October, Mistral and Tramontana become dominant once again. Winter, on the other hand, is mostly windless.

Wind conditions in Mallorca

Due to the ever-changing nature of the wind, you will experience the best wind conditions for a catamaran charter from June to September. The prevailing summer wind is from the east-southeast, which normally starts around noon and measures from three to six BFT. This then dies down as evening approaches.

Don’t miss out on a trip Palma’s largest and most centrally located indoor market which is situated on Placa Olivar. The Santa Catalina market (in the former fishermen’s quarter) is known for its tapas and also for its bodegas which offer wine straight from the barrel.

Cuevas del Drac (Dragon Caves), Porto Christo

These stalactite caves are located approximately two kilometres from the harbour. A visit to the caves will take about an hour and includes a classical concert and a boat trip across Lake Martel.

Port de Sóller

Board the historic railway and travel through the middle of the Serra de Tramunta to Sollér. After this, take the old tram to the Puerto de Sollér port and spend the day relaxing in one of the many cafés and restaurants or strolling along the wondrous harbour. You can also anchor your catamaran here and take a trip from the port to Palma.

What to be aware of when renting a catamaran in Mallorca

In order to operate a catamaran in the Balearic Islands, you need the International Certificate of Competence for Inland and Coastal Waters or the Sport-coastal Ship-licence (SKS/BR).

From the airport it is a 20 minute drive to the port in Palma. It takes a little longer to get to Pollensa (45 minutes) and Porto Colom (60 minutes).

Tip: Before you leave, check that you have all the necessary documents so that your trip can be as easy as possible!

Sailing Qualifications

To skipper a bareboat charter or flotilla yacht, you need to hold a practical sailing certificate equivalent to RYA Day Skipper Practical qualification or RYA International Certificate of Competence (ICC) . For charters in Greece, you must now have the ICC certificate . You must also be assisted by at least one competent crew member over the age of 18.

The port authorities in Greece are now insisting on one of the following practical certificates: RYA ICC (International Certificate of Competence), RYA Coastal, RYA Yachtmaster, ASA IPC (International Proficiency Certificate) or the IYT (International Yacht Training) Passport. If you hold an RYA Day Skipper or ASA104 it will no longer be accepted and you need to obtain either an ICC or IPC from the corresponding issuing body (RYA or ASA). If your RYA Coastal/Yachtmaster or ASA105/106 certificate is more than 12 years old and does not have a photo ID, then we would also strongly advise applying for an ICC or IPC. If you are a member of the RYA or ASA, you may qualify for a discount or free certificate, otherwise, you will have to pay. The approximate cost is £50. Please use this link - RYA application for the ICC or ASA application for the IPC.

For charters in Croatia, Malta and the Canaries , at least one member of the crew or the skipper will also need a VHF licence .

RYA qualifications can be obtained by RYA sailing schools in the UK or alternatively choose from one of our overseas centres in Gibraltar, Greece or Turkey .

For  Seychelles,  the local authorities require an ICC for the skipper of a bareboat or flotilla yacht charter.

For Caribbean and Tropical charters, formal qualifications are not compulsory, however, you should be Day Skipper standard and be assisted by at least one competent crew . A brief sailing resume should be provided to outline your experience.

For Thailand A Day Skipper qualification is required as a minimum and you must have at least 3 weeks of skippering experience prior to your charter. A VHF qualification is compulsory.

Sailing Levels

Winds force 2-3 (4-11 Knots)combined with generally shorter distances. Good for beginner or intermediate sailors. Line-of-sight navigation but basic knowledge of charts and ability to plot your position required.

Winds force 3-5 (7-21 Knots) with approximately 15-20nm per day. Intermediate experience required. Predominately line of sight navigation but an understanding of how to sail in open water.

Winds force 4-6 (11-27 Knots) with mileage of approximately 20nm+ per day. Ideal for experienced skippers looking to venture out to new destinations. Day skipper standard but with experienced crew would be recommended.

Mallorca has ideal conditions for a sailing holiday with steady afternoon breezes from the north Force 3-5. Stronger  mistral  winds can blow from the north-west for a few days. The passages between the Balearic islands are more exposed. Summer temperatures average 26-30ºC.

We have rated this destination a 'Level 2'  (levels info)  and you will need RYA Day Skipper or ICC qualification for bareboat charters in Mallorca. Level 1 sailors can stick to the south and east coasts where it is more sheltered, level 2 can circumnavigate the island whilst level 3 sailors may want to head to Ibiza and Fomentera or Menorca.

We will depart from Puerto de Alcudia, sailing towards Coll Baix. Depending on the weather conditions, the route may vary to ensure you have the best possible experience. Our first stop will be for a refreshing swim in Coll Baix or a nearby cove, where the crystal-clear water invites you to dive in.

We will continue towards Pollensa Bay, where we will drop anchor for an extended period of relaxation and fun in the water. While you soak up the surroundings, our crew will prepare an exquisite onboard barbecue that will include chicken breast, sausages, pork loin, pasta salad, bread, and seasonal fruits, all accompanied by a refreshing beverage.

After the meal, we will sail back to Puerto de Alcudia, with the possibility of one last swim in the Aucanda area, weather permitting. Amazing Experience!

Just had a 5 hour-ish family trip aboard Anacaona III. We took the net in the front. Three stops on beautiful places. The food and drinks were good; the staff were friendly. It was awesome, random people singing and dancing together, loved the party boat feeling; we definitely would come again! I can recommend it. The only con we found: the state of the toilet, but it was not a dealbreaker.

Die Tour war toll, die Crew war freundlich und die Landschaft war wunderschön. Leider war das Boot etwas überfüllt, was den Komfort beeinträchtigte. Trotzdem war es eine sehr schöne Erfahrung.

Absolutely one of the best experiences in Mallorca! It is such a chill cruise, great to spend a nice day and relax. We took catamaran with my husband and we were soooo glad with it! The crew was simply the best, they would do anything to make sure that you simply have fun! The food served for lunch was really fresh and tasted good – considering the fact that it was quickly prepared on a boat for so many people is just astonishing. The drinks were cheaper than in any bar in Can Picafort, beer was also cheap plus smoothie drinks were one of the best we have ever drink. Definitely worth every cent! Nice views, quite a lot of stops to take a swim or jump from the deck. The music was great and we had so much fun! I highly recommend it, especially if it’s super hot and you are less into sightseeing and more into chilling and swimming! PS cheers to Anacaona III crew!

Great Fun Despite the Weather

We had a great time on the catamaran. The BBQ was delicious and the snorkeling spots were fantastic. However, the weather wasn’t perfect which made it a bit chilly and cloudy. Overall, a very enjoyable trip despite the less than ideal weather.
