Description
We are delighted to present a spectacular Lidgard 40. Based on the popular Fusion 40 design, STORMTROOPER was professionally built by ACM with safety, strength, and performance in mind. The use of carbon fibre has allowed extra strength in the design, as well as keeping the overall displacement down to enhance sailing performance.
Solid vinyl ester glass hulls below the waterline and vacuum bagged vinyl ester foam sandwich above the waterline. Bonded carbon fore beam, chainplates, rudders/shafts and prodder ensure weight is minimised fwd and aft. All internal hard furnishings are custom built from faired Duflex foam sandwich board further enhancing structural rigidity.
The list of must haves were dual Jefa steering wheels, daggerboards, escape hatches, laminated glass windows and 18m tall tapered Allyacht Spars mast with Qantum performance sails. Sails are trimmed with cockpit push buttons by Fleet Hydrol hydraulic rams making single handed sailing easy.
Stormtrooper has had no expense spared with professionally fitted electronics: Czone can bus electrical system, 740Ah of Mastervolt Lithium batteries, Mastervolt Inverter, 1KW of LG Neon solar panels, B&G Zeus 2 instruments including sonar and radar, Lewmar winches and hatches. Stormtrooper is immaculately fully faired inside and out with AWLGRIP 2 pack finish.
Stylish fittings and a Caesar stone benched galley are a stylist addition with two Tecma electric toilets for creature comfort. Stormtrooper has completed more than 5000 nautical miles including the rugged west coast of Tasmania.
Stormtrooper has just been slipped in August and antifouled with Jotan Seavictor 50 Antifoul, Propspeed on legs/propellers and full service on Yanmar 30 engines and legs.

John Lidgard Imp – Built in 1978 by Peter Clements with guidance from J. Lidgard. Her construction is double diagonal kauri glassed over with glassed ply decks built over the kauri frame. “Imp – Zap” is powered by a Yanmar 3GM30 27hp diesel engine which will give her a cruise of 6 knots and a maximum speed of 7 knots. Both of the saloon seats pull out to make two double berths in addition to the two single quarter berths and forward V berth.
Sails included are a 2012 Mainsail, a No.1 Headsail on the furler in good condition and a spare No.2 Headsail.
Fridge/freezer (compressor driven), some galley gear, stereo, 2 x gas bottles, invertor, 2 x 12v batteries (1 x house and 1 x start), mainsail cover, spray dodger, EPIRB, some flares (OOD), Life raft (OOD), 2 x lifejackets, Depth Sounder, Autohelm

Palais De La Mer is a beautiful example of a Lidgard 44 with a lot to offer her new owners. Her beam and length give her a very comfortable riding motion and social settings. This flows into a beamy saloon with plenty of seating for family and guests with generous head room. Flowing into the lower level you will find generous berthing for everyone on board. They can be arranged in many different ways to allow for comfortable family boating or loading the friends up for a fishing adventure, with twin bathrooms she can easily sleep 8/10 people if required.
When the sun is shining and the drinks are flowing the flybridge is the point of call, with a centred raised helm station visibility for navigation and finding those works ups. With surround setting for all aboard to accompany the skipper, it is the place.
