Cuba Charter Destinations

Yacht charter destination cuba experience.

Dreaming of a trip to beautiful Cuba? A luxury yacht charter is the perfect way to see the island. Experience art, culture and the historic charm of Old Havana’s stunning colonial architecture. You’ll also fall in love with Cuba’s exquisite beaches and some of the world’s best offshore cruising.

Take the once forbidden voyage from South Florida to Cuba in the ultimate symbol of success – a world-class motor yacht – and spend a night or two at the famed Marina Hemingway. In Cienfuegos, the “Beautiful city of the sea,” enjoy authentic Cuban food amid colonial estates and centuries-old fortresses.

What makes Cuba truly exceptional are the Cubans themselves. Enjoy the privilege of engaging with people who live just 90 miles from Key West, but who’ve been separated from the U.S. by a half-century of politics.

Encounter up to seven UNESCO world heritage sites in one trip, including the historic centers of Camaguey, Trinidad, and Old Havana, as well as the Jardines de la Reina Marine Park – one of the world’s best-preserved marine areas home to more species of fish, sharks, turtles, and birds than practically anywhere else.

South of the mainland, discover the smaller islands of Cuba, like Cayo Largo – home to what is widely regarded as one of the top beaches on earth. And for diving aficionados who happen to appreciate history, the Bay of Pigs is a can’t-miss stop.

If this sounds like your type of vacation, 26 North Yachts offers a range of yachts for charter in Cuba. With a crew of experienced professionals on board, you can sit back and relax while enjoying the comfort and amenities of your yacht.

Yacht Charter Cuba

Cuba Yacht Charter - Sandy beach Playa Paradise of the island of Cayo Largo, Cuba with turquoise waters

Explore this destination rooted in celebration, passion, and scenery by luxury yacht charter.

Located only 90 miles from the southernmost point of the U.S. in Key West, Cuba seamlessly merges the Caribbean Sea, the Gulf of Mexico, and the Atlantic Ocean. The island is encircled by powder-white beaches, palm trees, and welcoming warm waters. Cuba is famed for its outstanding rum, hand-rolled cigars, and unique complex history that showcases colorful American convertibles and dance-til-dawn salsa bars. A yacht charter to Cuba offers something for everyone. Adventure-seekers can take to the land and explore the historical streets, sampling rum and kicking back with an authentic Cuban cigar. Those who want more peace and quiet can stay on sun-kissed beaches.

UNESCO World Heritage site

UNESCO World Heritage protects Cuban cities such as Trinidad and its capital Havana. They boast fascinating culture, stylish restaurants, and plenty of bars with delicious rums and lots of salsa dancing.

Your private charter yacht can drop anchor at the Marina Hemingway in Havana. You will not want to miss the opportunity to visit the Museum of the Revolution, the Capitol Building, and the Catedral de San Cristobal. Roam the streets of Paseo del Prado, Old Havana’s famous promenade featuring stunning Spanish colonial architecture and statuesque trees. Enjoy authentic cuisine at La Bodeguita del Medio and Soviet dishes at Nazdarovie, or for more special occasions, head to El Biky. After a delicious meal, head to the legendary El Floridita for a daiquiri. After exploring this vibrant city, you can return to your luxury yacht with the salsa melodies still dancing in your head.

Discover the Magic of Cuba Yacht Charter: A Luxurious Sailing Adventure

Embark on an unforgettable journey through the pristine waters of the Caribbean Sea with a Cuba Yacht Charter. This comprehensive guide will lead you through the enchanting island nation of Cuba, offering a blend of rich history, vibrant culture, and unparalleled natural beauty. Whether you’re aboard a private luxury charter yacht or a crewed luxury yacht, the Cuban archipelago awaits to provide an exceptional luxury charter vacation.

Yacht Charter in Cuba: Gateway to Paradise

Yacht charters in Cuba present an extraordinary way to explore this beautiful country. From luxury yachts to sailing yachts, the options are diverse, catering to every preference. A Cuba luxury yacht charter is not just about sailing; it’s about experiencing the yachting lifestyle amidst the breathtaking coastlines and Caribbean style beaches. Opt for a bareboat charter for a more hands-on adventure or a private yacht for an intimate experience.

Cultural Richness and Historical Landscapes

A yacht charter in Cuba is incomplete without delving into the island’s uniquely complex history and culture. The Spanish colonial architecture in cities like Trinidad, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, tells the story of the island’s past. The Cuban atmosphere is alive with the sounds of countless classic cars and the sights of sun-kissed beaches lined with seafront villages.

Dream Itinerary: From Havana to Cayo Largo

Begin your luxury yacht charter journey in the vibrant capital of Havana, where world-class restaurants and vibrant nightlife set the tone for an exciting trip. Sail towards the southern coast, stopping at the small resort island of Cayo Largo. Here, Playa Sirena offers pristine sands and crystal-clear waters perfect for water activities like jet skis and water toys. Continue to Cayo Rico for a secluded escape, and enjoy night sailing under the stars.

Island-hopping around Cuba

With a luxury charter vacation, you can experience every diverse landscape Cuba offers and more. Island-hop the surrounding archipelagos, explore the cays of Jardines del Rey, and be left in awe of Cuba’s stunning natural beauty.

Visit the town of Baracoa, which, until the 1960s, was only accessible by boat. The city still has a remote feel and exudes character. You can set out to explore the trails of El Yunque, one of the most characteristic mountains of Cuba.

The Varadero region

The north of Cuba is home to the Varadero region, a well-known area filled with unspoiled beaches, swaying palm trees, and the island’s only 18-hole golf course, the Villa Du Point Golf Course.

Cienfuegos, known as the Pearl of the South, feature streets filled with historical and cultural delights to admire. Cayo Largo, a part of the Los Canarréos archipelago, offers calm waters and pristine reefs to explore and is home to an incredible turtle sanctuary. After days spent ashore immersing yourself in Cuba’s rich history and colorful culture, take in the warm, balmy breeze while dining alfresco on the deck of your charter yacht. Kick back with a craft cocktail and recharge to be ready for the adventures that lie before you.

Amanda - The crew and guides were amazing. The boat is the best I saw in Galapagos. It’s a complete renovation, and if they had gone the extra mile in the interior it would have paid off. That said, this isn’t a Mediterranean trip and for what it was, the whole thing was exceptional. Well done. I think they truly enjoyed having us on board also, which helped a lot the overall trip feel. One thing is for sure. After diving in Galapagos, I no longer needed to ask whether there were any sharks under the boat…Whole eco system completely intact. Totally wonderful. My dad was ecstatic. Really a dream Part 2 from Dad: Dear Amanda, thank you so much for your efforts in making our visit to the Galapagos such a success. I have dreamed of going there for the past 60 years since my university days. It was beyond anything I had imagined and thanks to family generosity I was able to share the experience with three generations of my family. The MY Passion was perfect for our requirements. The captain and crew were splendid, providing safety and comfort with cheerful efficiency. My daughter-in-law advised the chef that we wished to enjoy Ecuadorian food and this inspired the chef to demonstrate her extraordinary talent. The food was exceptional. Our guide, Fernando, has a remarkable knowledge of the wildlife and geology of the islands and of Darwin’s writings about them. He added his own dimension to the success of the trip. I was delighted that Robert was able to enjoy his scuba dives with a knowledgeable local dive master whom we both instantly trusted. The photos the dive master took of the dives are breathtaking. My last memory of the wildlife was of a waved albatross picking up speed as it ran, over uneven ground, flapping its long graceful wings as it took off out over the ocean. Per ardua ad astra, through hardships to the heavens…. Thank you for your part in a visit that will continue to live with me. Kindest regards. MY PASSION / June / Galapagos

Cuba Yacht Charters

Step back in time on a Cuba yacht charter and explore this captivating country where rolling mountains descend onto dazzling shores, where doting grandfathers smoke fine cigars and drive vintage cars, and where locals grab a beer and debate the latest baseball game.

When you are on a charter yacht in the tropical oasis of Cuba, you can spend your days lounging on white-sand beaches or go swimming in the azure waters.

On land, the colors of Cuban towns match its island vibe. Walk through quiet, relaxed Trinidad, and you’ll find cobblestone streets and plazas lined with pastel buildings.

Head to the capital, Havana, and you’ll find clubs pulsing with Afro-Cuban jazz, people dancing to soothing timba beats on the streets, Ché Guevara posters,1950s-era Chevrolets, and open street markets with flavorful fruits and vegetables.

Cuba Yacht Charter Highlights

  • Beautiful colonial cities frozen in time
  • Eclectic architecture
  • Miles long white-sand beaches
  • Untouched coral reef for great diving and snorkeling
  • Tasty cigars and rum

Best Time to Charter in Cuba: mid-November through mid-August

While the best time for a yacht charter in Cuba is from December to April, when it’s slightly cooler, the timing of your trip depends entirely on where you want to go.

Whether you want to dance the night away in Havana or spend your days lounging on Cuba’s beautiful beaches, Cuba has so much to do and see. And to make sure you check off all the things on your vacation bucket list when planning your next yacht charter escape to Cuba, make sure you pick the time of year that works best with your itinerary.

Winter Winter is among the best months to visit Cuba — with December, January, and February promising sunny days and cooler temperatures overall. This climate is great for sightseeing. That said, keep in mind that sea breezes at this cooler time of year may make it too cold for some fair-weather travelers; especially for those who plan to spend their days at the beach.

Spring Above all, the best time of the year to visit Cuba is in March and April. These months fall immediately between cooler winter temperatures and summer’s rain and heat, making it the time of year when the climate is most pleasant. That said, the further south and east you go, the more heat, humidity and rain you can expect. This is definitely the most popular time of year in Cuba, so if you’re planning to charter a yacht there, book your tours and excursions well in advance, before they fill up.

Summer Summer rain in Cuba starts in late April and early May, with June to November bringing heavier downpours, storms and once in a while, even a hurricane. As well as being stormy, July and August are also very humid and hot, especially in the more popular cities, like Havana, which you will definitely want to visit.

Fall From August to the end of fall, Cuba — like most of the Caribbean — is most likely to be affected by hurricanes. Yacht charter guests should be careful when planning a trip at this time of year and make sure they have their trip cancellation insurance in place.

Cuba Yacht Charters – Things to Do & See

Sandy beach in Cuba

For reasons we can’t explain, magical Cuba draws you in and doesn’t let you go. On your next yacht charter adventure at sea, discover the magic for yourself.

Cuba is filled with magnificent, sugary-sand beaches

From the ivory, sands shores of Playa Ancón, a water sports hub just minutes from vibrant Trinidad, to the vast, glistening sands of Playa Paraíso and Playa Sirena, Cuba yacht charters take you to plenty of magical beaches to choose from. Looking for something a little quieter, with more space to relax in solitude? Head to the Bay of Pigs. With its rocky coves, clear waters and endless rows of swaying palms, this beach is as historic as it is beautiful.

Havana is a bustling world of its own

There’s no denying that Old Havana is a cultural destination. Perfect for every type of yacht charter guest, Havana is the heart of this iconic island; home to everything from the propaganda-heavy Museum of the Revolution and the swanky Vedado jazz district, to its famous cigars, salsa clubs, the Cuban National Ballet, interesting locals and more. The sounds of Havana, and of all of Cuba, are reason enough to visit. Music in Cuba always gets people on their feet.

You won’t be able to get enough of Cuba’s delicious, hearty food

If you haven’t had Cuban food, you’re missing out — and no one does it quite like the island itself. Cuban staples include ropa vieja, a stewed and shredded beef; ceviche, a lime-marinated raw fish; light, flaky Cuban bread; cafesito; minty, rum-filled mojitos and more. Ask your yacht’s chef to prepare Cuban cuisine for you and your charter guests and also head onshore and try some local restaurants.

Cuba offers a peek into a complicated history

As rampant as Cuban politics have been, its towns have been that much more beautiful. A colonial haven, Cuba’s UNESCO cities are still a throwback to the pirate days of the Caribbean, where grandiose squares and cobblestone streets are lined with colorful shops, restaurants, and homes. Head outside of the cities, and you’ll find emerald hills sloping into vast tobacco plantations, the core of one of its most historic exports: Cuban cigars.

It’s time to experience all of the charm and magic of luxury Cuba yacht charters.

Cuba awaits; book your yacht rental with us today!

Other areas which have attracted praise from critics include the small resort island of Cayo Largo del Sur and the strategically situated Marina Trinidad which combines outstanding facilities in an environment wholly in keeping with those who enjoy the yachting lifestyle.

Day 1: Arrival

The marina representative will greet you once you are docked. They will be available to you throughout your stay for any help you may require. From here the driver will escort you to the vehicle and transfer you to the bustling city of Havana.Once in Havana you and your guests will enjoy a private lunch of local cuisine at a secluded Paladar.

fortress-havana

After lunch enjoy a tour of local galleries and meet the artists. At 21:00 hours the private minibus driver will collect your party in old Havana and drive to the Havana Fortress to witness the canon firing.

The canon ceremony is held each night at the La Cabaña fortress. The Fortaleza de San Carlos de la Cabaña was built around 1774 by the Spaniards to control the access to the Port of Havana of the Havana Port. Soldiers dress in 18th century uniform fire canons over Havana bay at precisely 9 p.m. It is a historical reconstruction dating back to the colonial era when the cannon fire announced the official end of the day and the time to close the city gates for the night. We advise people to be on time as good places with an excellent view are limited.

Day 2: Old Havana and Tropicana

Walk in the footsteps of Havana´s colonial past visiting the 4 plazas of Old Havana, a UNESCO world heritage site. Visit Plaza de Armas, Plaza San Francisco de Asis, Plaza Vieja and Plaza de la Catedral with an expert guide offering insightful history along the way. Your guide will then take you around the city to take in the panoramic views from El Morro, the fortress at the mouth of Havana harbor, the Malecon, Prado, the impressive Bacardi building and Revolution Square.

Lunch at La Bodequita Del Medio: Home of the Mojito, this is world famous and copied restaurant immortalized by Hemingway has served up classic, home‐style Cuban dishes for 50 years; a must visit for one or two, ideally before or after the crowds set in.

la-bodeguita-del-cuba

In the evening head to a musical show at the World-Famous Tropicana. A spectacular open-air cabaret that is a unique atmosphere to enjoy the music and the Cuban and  Caribbean  folklore in all its color, musicality and rhythm. Tropicana is an art extravaganza to multiply the Cuban happiness of a true tropical night.

Day 3: Vinales

Enjoy a day trip to the rural town of Vinales – a farm where one can enjoy a look at the simpler life in Cuba. Meet with local farmers at Finca Agroecologica El Paraiso, an agro‐cultural farm and enjoy an incredible farm‐to‐table lunch made with locally-sourced produce.

Cuba Caves

After lunch your party will enjoy one of Cuba’s hidden treasures, Cueva del Indio. The cave tour explores the limestone caverns. After the tour take a boat ride in Vinales to visit an authentic Cuban tobacco farm.

Day 4: Hemingway’s Home

Today you and your guests will enjoy the Cuban traditional Partagas Cigar Factory where you will experience details from growing tobacco leaves, a look into the government funded tobacco training center to quality control. After the tour you and your guests can have lunch at a local restaurant before the visit to Hemingway’s home. The Finca la Vigia is now a museum where you and your guests can dive deep into the history of the famous author.

Day 5: Havana Rum Factory

Tour and sample rum from Havana’s most famous distillery. The Havana Club Rum Factory brand was nationalized in the late 1950’s and is now the world’s best selling rum. After the tour have lunch onboard and relax as the sun sets in the afternoon.

Day 6: Departure

Spend the day enjoying the amenities of the marina before departing home.

CUBA - Sailing Conditions and Clima

Cuba’s location primarily south of the Tropic of Cancer gives the country a tropical climate . The average temperature for the month of July is a comfortable 80.6ºF (27ºC) and for January is a mild 69.8ºF (21ºC). This makes Cuba an ideal sailing destination throughout the year . The climate is due in part to the consistently warm Caribbean waters that bring warm water north from the Equator.

Cuba enjoys northeasterly trade winds throughout the year, which not only help keep the island warm, but also will keep your sails working. For those looking to charter a sailing yacht and use only wind power, Cuba is a lovely, consistently windy place perfectly suited for a sailboat cruisers.

Because the island is warm throughout the year, it is probably best to visit between the months of November and April. The island enjoys a drier season in the winter and spring months, which means calmer waters for you to sail on and more hours of sunshine for you to enjoy. The rainy season begins in May, but possibly the worst time to charter a yacht in Cuba is when the waters of the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea combine, and can make hurricanes form. The peak of hurricane season is September and October, so it is best to avoid the area during those months.

Guide to Cuba

A uniquely dynamic fusion of cultural and natural beauty

Go beyond the bustling surface of Cuba and what lies beneath is a breathtaking fusion of vibrant Latin culture mixed with Caribbean vibes. Replete with secluded beaches, restaurants, and turquoise waters, the island nation comfortably meets all the needs of the modern charterer.

For those after a charter vacation full of unique experiences set to a stunning backdrop away from the world’s more populated cruising grounds, the Caribbean island nation of Cuba is just the place to go. Owing to its extraordinary history, the destination is just as much a meeting point of various influences as it is a place to unwind in comfort. Indeed, the streets are lined with everything from Spanish colonial mansions to architecture inspired by the Art deco movement of the early twentieth century. Passing in front of such unique streets is a constantly changing lineup of classic American cars originally imported during the 50s. At night, Cuba comes alive to the sound of salsa, with entertainment options ranging from exclusive fine dining restaurants to famous cigar lounges.

Located within cruising distance from the Bahamas , Cuba has become a preferred stop-off for Caribbean yacht charters as well as providing enough opportunities for itineraries to take place exclusively in its own waters. Indeed, with the diversity of its culture nicely mirrored in its diverse range of scenery, there’s plenty of options sure to satisfy any kind of guest. From mountain ranges to forests and plains, there’s also a number of reasons for the more adventurous charterers to get off their yacht and stretch their legs. With quaint bars and cafes situated in places which offer commanding views of Cuba, take everything in could not be more convenient nor memorable.

City life in Cuba provides an exciting complement to its tropical scenery. With an arts scene which rivals that of London, Los Angeles and New York, and a gastronomic scene which brings together some of the best chefs and dishes, visitors are sure to find their time on the island wholly unforgettable. What’s more, the nightlife around Havana is unquestionably of the most unique variety- where else in the world does salsa and cigars quite like the Cubans? In contrast, Bahia de Cabanas is home to beautiful bays and beaches as well as a number of reefs while the crystalline waters off the coast of Cayo Levisa provide some of the best snorkelling and diving in the region.

Located just off the north coast of Cuba is the impressive 200-mile long stretch of cays which constitute the Jardines del Rey archipelago. Known locally as the ‘Kings Gardens’, this collection of islands is a registered UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and is consequently beautifully unspoilt. An island-hopper's paradise, the largely uninhabited beaches are ideal for enjoying a picnic ahead of a long walk around sunset.

Cuban culture.

No Key West to Cuba trip would be complete without spending at least a day in Havana. Once a playground for the rich and famous, Hollywood starlets and business tycoons were found here nightly, gambling in casinos and taking in a show at the world-famous Tropicana Nightclub. Havana in the 1950s was an “anything goes” town of fame and occasional infamy. Today the high life has disappeared, old-world charm lingers.

Stroll the streets of Old Havana and you’ll feel a mixture of cultural influences that are uniquely Cuban, from the conservative architecture of a Spanish cathedral to plazas lined with brightly colored building facades. Stop along the way and sample some of the city’s famous street food, including Tostones—deep-fried plantains served with a variety of dipping sauces.

Any walk through Old Havana is sure to pass under clotheslines strung between apartment buildings and have an encounter with at least one vintage 1950s-era Ford or Chevy automobile, still in operational condition and often used as taxis.

The Richness Of Cuban Culture

In Cuba, music feels like it’s a religion of its own, as sacred and loved. Some of the finest musicians you’ll ever hear can be found playing in places like Plaza Vieja and Plaza de Armas. So do what the locals do: sit, enjoy a cup of Cuban coffee, and partake in a little people watching.

Whether you travel from Key West to Cuba on a Hemingway excursion, fishing expedition, or simply to tour and experience a magnificent jewel of the Caribbean, you’ll discover Cuban citizens to be welcoming and engaging. Miami Term Charters to Bimini

Just a few hours from Miami by water, Bimini is ideal for a weekend getaway. Despite being only 7 miles long, the islands are a haven for divers and snorkelers looking to get up close to dolphins, underwater shipwrecks and more.

Along with being known for its laid-back lifestyle, white sandy beaches and nature trails, Bimini also possesses a rich culture and history. Bimini is home to many landmarks accessible only by boat, such as Bimini Road, an underwater rock formation believed to be hundreds of years old.

Bimini is also home to world-famous myths, such as Ponce de Leon’s Fountain of Youth. Legends talk about a fountain that supposedly restores the youth of anyone who drinks or bathes in its waters. This “fountain” is a pool that locals refer to as the Healing Hole. It pushes out cool, fresh water during outgoing tides and is well worth a visit.

Adding to Bimini’s mystical aura is its famous “ghost ship,” the SS Sapona shipwreck. If you are up to the adventure, snorkel in and around the ship among the hundreds of tropical fish species it harbors.

Bimini’s reputation for spectacular sport fishing stems from the fact that it sits on the edge of a warm stream of tropical current that rushes from the Gulf Stream north past the Bahamas. The stream acts as a belt in which over 50 record-setting fish have been caught.

If natural beauty and local culture were not enough, you cannot go to Bimini without experiencing the local delicacy — the conch salad. Once you savor the white, tasty conch meat over a plate of fresh veggies, hot peppers, and citrus, you will understand why this is perhaps the most quintessential dish in the Bahamas. Head over to Stuart’s Conch Stand or Joe’s Conch Shack to taste this Bahamian delight.

Whether you choose to explore Bimini on your own, with family and friends, or as a couple, you will want to stop by Resorts World Bimini to try your luck at the casino or simply drop anchor and tender into their beach club. Either way, you will leave Bimini wanting more.

Miami Term Charters to the Bahamas

Home to 700 islands and cays, the Bahamas has no shortage of tropical waters and secluded beaches. Aside from the Bimini trip, the usual travel time from Miami to Nassau or the Exumas is around 8 or 9 hours. This time easily flies by as you socialize with your guests, enjoy a chef-cooked meal, or lounge aboard your private yacht.

With a longer travel time to and from the Bahamas, we highly recommend that you charter a yacht in Miami for at least a week so you can fully enjoy your time and appreciate all this natural paradise has to offer.

Each island in the Bahamas is unique, with its own set of attractions and qualities. It is virtually impossible to explore all the islands in a week, so we have put together recommendations on some of the islands we believe you should not miss. Your YachtLife charter specialist will be able to assist in planning your bespoke Bahamas itinerary, so the below should be considered inspiration. Additionally, we have created a 7-day Bahamas itinerary available here .

New Providence

New Providence is home to Nassau, the capital and largest city of the Bahamas. Nassau is one of the most popular destinations in the Bahamas due to its highly developed tourist infrastructure and international airport.

Just off the main island of New Providence is Paradise Island, with its white sand beaches and world-famous Atlantis resort. Here you can spend the day lounging at Cabbage Beach, exploring the extensive marine life or enjoying yourself at the Aquaventure water park. By night, try your luck at the Atlantis Casino or savor a meal at one of the world-class restaurants on the island.

If you are looking for peace and quiet, sail over to Rose Island for a day among secluded coves and uninhabited beaches. Have your crew set up a picnic lunch on Rose Island and spend the afternoon snorkeling and admiring the sting rays and exotic fishes.

Eleuthera + Harbour Island

Next on our list of places to visit in the Bahamas is Eleuthera and Harbour Island. Spend the day cruising the coast of Eleuthera, admiring its pristine pink sand beaches, endless pineapple fields and exploring the hidden cays and secluded swimming areas. Sail to Surfer’s Beach for big waves, or cruise to the calm, shallow waters of Ten Bay Beach for a peaceful day on the water. Additionally, visit  Ocean Hole , an inland swimming spot with tropical fish and sea turtles.

In the afternoon, pay a visit to colorful Dunmore Town, located on Harbour Island, the original capital of The Bahamas and currently the country’s second largest city.

The Exumas are a collection of 100+ private islands and cays and the most popular destination for a yacht charter in the Bahamas. Footprint-free beaches, ultra-exclusive resorts, and islands fit for celebrities make this tropical paradise an absolute gem. In the Exumas, coastlines remain flawless and private homes play host to some of the world’s most famous celebrities and parties.

A few of our favorite destinations in all the Exumas include:

• Staniel Cay : Grab lunch at the Staniel Cay Yacht Club and swim with the nurse sharks

• Big Major Island : This island is famous for its swimming pigs.

• Norman Cay : Snorkel and see Pablo Escobar’s smuggler plane wreck and colorful reefs.

• Thunderball Grotto : This hidden cave is accessible at low tide and was made famous by the eponymous James Bond movie.

The Abaco Islands

The Abaco Islands are a 120-mile-long chain of islands home to small towns and villages. The islands are known for their turquoise waters and warm breezes — a true yachting paradise. Embarking from Palm Beach, the Abacos are a short one- to two-hour cruise and usually the first point of interest for a yacht charter in the Bahamas.

Spend the day diving in the Pelican Cays Land and Sea Park with its underwater caves and colorful coral reefs. You can sail to the northwestern part of the island to go turtle, eagle ray and shark watching at Walker’s Cay National Park.

The Abaco Islands offer more than natural wonders — you will also find championship-level golf courses on Treasure Cay, beautiful towns on Elbow Cays and Green Turtle Cay, and endless nightlife throughout the archipelago.

Miami Term Charters to the Florida Keys

The Florida Keys, just south of Miami, are home to over 40 islands connected by the Overseas Highway.

For many, a Florida Keys vacation involves simply cruising the waters aboard your yacht charter in Miami, with an umbrella drink in hand and a relaxed mindset. For others, it may be diving in unknown waters and exploring shipwrecks and coral reefs or island hopping and savoring the local seafood and art galleries before enjoying the sunset.

With the Florida Keys’ tropical beaches, snorkeling and scuba diving sites, rich history, culture, and national treasures, the islands are truly the perfect place to unplug and leave the rest of the world behind.

The Keys’ five must-visit areas are Key Largo , Islamorada , Marathon Key , the Lower Keys and Key West .

yacht charter miami to cuba

Embarking from Miami, Key Largo is the first and largest island of the Florida Keys. It is the most popular destination for private yacht charters embarking from Miami due to its proximity and its variety of marine-related activities.

In Key Largo, known as the scuba diving capital of the world, you will find the world’s largest artificial coral reef, Spanish shipwrecks, clear waters and a perfect year-round climate. Key Largo is also an ideal location for water activities: One can kayak through the mangroves or jet ski along the coast. And no trip to Key Largo is complete without a visit to Pennekamp Park, the most visited snorkel site in the Keys. Pennekamp Park is famous for its underwater statue of Jesus Christ and the surrounding reefs.

Additionally, Key Largo is home to the Ocean Reef Club. This private, invite-only enclave sits on 2,500 lush, tropical acres and is home to millionaires and billionaires. It features two 18-hole golf courses, five-star restaurants, and a world-class spa.

Islamorada (also known as Village of Islands) is a short cruise from Miami and Key Largo. As the sportfishing capital of the world, Islamorada hosts the world’s largest fishing fleet per square mile. So if you are heading to the Keys and looking for a fishing destination, this is your spot. The island was made famous by the Netflix series Bloodline . So if you’re a Bloodline fan, make sure to pay a visit to The Moorings Village, the hotel featured in the series.

Another popular destination in Islamorada is the ever-popular sandbar just east of the Holiday Isles Marina. It is the perfect place for having a relaxing day you will remember.

Marathon Key

At the heart of the Florida Keys lies Marathon Key. Here you will be able to explore the island’s fishing culture. You can enjoy annual seafood festivals and waterside restaurants that harvest fresh fish, lobster, and stone crab claws from the local waters.

What really makes Marathon special is its Marathon City Marina, considered the prize gem for those exploring the keys by yacht.

The Lower Keys

The Seven Mile Bridge marks the entrance to some of the most beautiful scenery this side of the Caribbean Sea. As you cruise from Big Pine Key to Key West, you’ll encounter natural attractions and the blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico.

The Lower Florida Keys include many small islands connected by bridges. Big Pine Key hotels provide a great anchorage point from which to explore the Lower Keys and the rest of the Florida Keys.

Schedule a Big Pine Key snorkeling trip to experience the color and diversity of Florida’s extensive coral reef system. With a variety of coral, a sunken ship, and more than 150 species of fish, Looe Key Marine Sanctuary makes for a diving trip to remember.

Just a few of the many keys between Big Pine Key and Key West include Cudjoe Key, Bahia Honda, Sugarloaf, Boca Chica and Stock Island. You’ll find local restaurants, dive shops and eco-tour opportunities throughout.

Originally named the Cayo Hueso, or “Key of Bones,” by early Spanish settlers, Key West is the last island in the chain and famously the southernmost point in the continental United States. Key West is also home to the highest number of residents in the Keys — just over 26,000. Many famous celebrities and historical figures have lived on the island, including Ernest Hemingway, Harry S Truman, Robert Frost, Jimmy Buffett and Calvin Klein.

Galleon Resort and Marina is walking distance to the famous Duval Street and Mallory Square, both home to historic tours, excellent dining, and eclectic nightlife to accommodate tourists of all lifestyles from around the world.

With one of the warmest climates in the U.S., you won’t want to skip Key West on your yacht charter vacation.
