Completed Lurssen Yacht TIS

This massive volume yacht is one of our most ambitious projects to date. TIS was commissioned for a long-time charter client of Moran Yacht & Ship, who has over the past seven years, chartered some of the largest and highest quality motor yachts in the world. This experience has led to owner input on nearly every level, from guest accommodations to propulsion package selection, all the way to crew area design.

With an interior and exterior styling by Andrew Winch Design, TIS will feature 2 helicopter pads, a 12 meter swimming pool, a resort inspired spa in the aft of the vessel, and palatial staircases that to date have only been seen in palaces. Her tender garage will accommodate two 13 meter tenders and an abundant selection of other water toys. Lack of space will not be an issue for this family-oriented owner. In addition to a massive private owner’s deck, eight other guests staterooms will accommodate sixteen additional guests in absolute comfort.

We are pleased to announce that TIS has been successfully delivered.

Inside Lürssen’s latest superyacht: on board M/Y TIS

By Gemma Fottles from Superyacht Digest | October Issue 2019

In the notoriously exclusive business of superyachts, Tis marks the largest ever yacht interior that German shipyard Lürssen was able to share with the world. Here we take a rare closer look at the latest 111-metre addition to the global superyacht fleet. The built was showcased at the recent Monaco Yacht Show.

t he craftsmen and women that comprise the team of Lürssen are, undeniably, experts in the creation of some of the most complex superyachts in the world. One of the few luxury yacht builders with the capabilities to pull off such a technical feat at their facilities in Bremen, the Lürssen fleet consists of a staggering 20 superyachts exceeding 100 metres in length – topping that list being no other than the longest yacht in the world, the 180-metre Azzam .

tis yacht interior

Understandably, the vast majority of these projects have been kept fiercely confidential. Though the exterior design is often hard to disguise as a yacht of such size and prestige cruises around the world, interior details are usually particularly secretive, fully enclosed from the eyes of everyone but the lucky few. With the delivery of their latest yacht, the 111-metre Winch-designed Tis , however, all eyes are welcome.

tis yacht interior

So what’s the reason behind being able to share the yacht in all her glory? Built in close collaboration with an experienced owner and well-seasoned charter client, Tis  was built with charter in mind. This not only meant designing a yacht together with Winch Design to cater to the needs and expectations of the world’s most discerning charter clients, as one of the most exciting and, indeed, expensive charter yachts on the market, opening up the doors to Tis ‘s exquisite entirety ensures that she bursts onto the charter market like never before – the move of a particularly charter-savvy owner.

tis yacht interior

“Upon delivery this summer, Tis  became one of the largest yachts in the world available for charter”, comments Michael Bremen , Sales Director of Lürssen. “With this in mind, it is in the interest of the client to introduce the yacht to a discerning audience and to show off her beauty. For the shipyard, it is a great and unique opportunity for which we are very grateful”.

tis yacht interior

The owner’s influence was not confined to optimal charter operation and marketing, however. The owner was involved in every aspect of the construction of the yacht, with the team describing him as an important influence throughout her entire build. Considering the benefits of working with a knowledgeable and highly involved client, Bremen continues: “It is a big help if the client is an experienced yacht owner or yacht charterer. The client knows exactly his or her own needs but also their families’ and guests’ needs.

tis yacht interior

The client is then normally more involved in the building process, which also helps in making critical decisions along the way”. Measuring 111-metres with a beam of 16.85 metres and an impressive volume of 4,500 GT, Tis is built to PYC classification and accommodates up to 18 guests onboard. For those 18 special guests, there is something unique awaiting on the inside, where the clear synergy between prestigious shipyard, world-renowned design team and experienced owner and management team comes into play.

As with all 100+ metre projects, the interior design is not the only spectacular thing about Tis and features onboard certainly abound. Across her six decks are two helipads, a 12-metre swimming pool on the main deck, a meticulously designed spa and hammam area, an outdoor cinema for cosy nights at sea, and a Parisian Ladurée-inspired tearoom. Performance-wise, she is powered by twin 3,200 kW engines, serving up a comfortable cruising speed of 12 knots and a top speed of 18 knots. An autonomous range of 7,000 nm provides true ocean-going capabilities.

SUPERYACHT SYNERGY –  Moran Yacht & Ship acted as project managers from inception to delivery, and were another essential component in the successful design, build and delivery of Tis . Boasting years of experience working with the Lürssen team on several previous superyacht projects, Bremen describes the benefits of working in a tried-and-tested team: “Having a team which has worked several times together is very helpful for such complex new builds like Tis . Each team knows the strong and weak points of the other team, is completely aware of the working processes and knows the relevant people very well. It makes things much easier in the coordination of what is an incredibly complex construction process”. As with any complex new build project, there were challenges. “Large voids in the structure of a ship, such as the aft saloon or the main atrium are always a challenge on a yacht, and we are proud that we have been able to achieve this yet again”, continues Bremen. “The request for high ceilings in the owner’s area and its knock-on effect resulted in a more complex ship structure and more difficult coordination. The whole team is excited that she turned out to be such a graceful yacht that will allow her passengers to enjoy yachting to the fullest in total comfort, luxury and quality”. “ Tis  undertook her maiden voyage to Gibraltar upon delivery this summer and departed Lürssen’s facilities in mid-June”, Bremen concludes. “We look forward to her cruising the Seven Seas and turning heads wherever she goes for years to come”.

BEHIND THE DESIGN –  Inside Tis  Winch Design breaks down what exactly will make Tis  stand the test of time as one of the world’s most extraordinary 100+ metre superyachts. Her interiors take their inspiration from iconic residences and geographies around the world. They’re inspired by design details and colour schemes which have fixated and impressed for hundreds of years, and the fact that these details have remained for the most part, unchanged throughout history, means that they have already proved themselves to be timeless.

The charm of Tis however, is that while taking inspiration from these briefs, Winch Design has seamlessly integrated contemporary styling and features, updating these inspirations and ultimately rendering her interiors light and fresh, yet wonderfully opulent. Her exterior is classically elegant, her lime-washed oak and navy colour scheme is head-turning, yet classical: she has an undisputedly timeless silhouette.

SPA – Another beautiful and unique feature onboard is the spa, which is situated on the Bridge Deck. It features a playful citrus theme, taking inspiration from the island of Capri. The Lemon Grove is a dedicated relaxation feature, with a honey onyx vanity and mosaic floor. Throughout the spa, the stone floors have been hand-chipped to give a soft, aged feel. Jasmine notes in the artwork alongside a jasmine scent throughout creates a true sensory experience. Additionally, each day head on board Tis is unique, acting as a little jewellery box on each floor.

GUEST CABINS – Another stand out feature are the eight guest cabins, each representing a different geographic destination or iconic residence around the world. Each has an entirely unique identity, and every single element has been carefully crafted to enjoy an astounding level of coherence within their individual themes, with the most minute of details linking each of the spaces. The eight cabins are themed as follows: Provence, China Seas, Marrakesh, Russian Dacha, Tuscan Olive, Claridges, Deco and Paris.

BEACH CLUB – One exterior highlight is the beach club, which is a transitional space between the exterior and interior, a luxurious and relaxing halfway house. Lime-washed oak panels give the space a bright feel and a huge bar complete with matching bar stools, dining table and sofas make it clear that this is an area to relax in and have fun. Teak flooring helps bridge the inside and outside spaces, but a custom pattern in the teak that bursts towards the exterior like a firecracker removes any hint of the industrial. Through a side door to starboard is a sauna, ice fountain and shower, which leads out onto a foldout swim platform, the perfect place to relax at water level. Throughout, the artwork of Capri and rope patterns and swirls make the spaces a cohesive unit, alongside a sea theme of light blue and warm neutral tones. Two large hinged doors open out onto the aft platform, again with a custom teak pattern to give a touch of flair, amid the elegant sweeping stairs, with unique faux painted mahogany details ensuring Tis stands out stylishly when moored stern-to.

POOL – Lemons in a mosaic pattern at the bottom of the pool link the exterior to the interior theme. This space is primarily for lounging and relaxing, with plenty of integrated sunbeds and built-in seating around the bar. Tis features all the toys you’d expect to find on one of the most well-appointed yachts in the world; helicopter operations can take place from two locations, with the bow strengthened for occasional take off and landings, but when not in use, this deck also doubles as both a dance floor and an outdoor cinema, with removable outdoor furniture.

tis yacht interior

TEA-ROOM – The upper deck is home to perhaps the most unexpected room on board: a Parisian Ladurée-inspired tearoom, enjoying prime position forward. This unique space is a feminine tribute to this elegant pastime, with traditional tones of pastel greens, pinks and creams. A couple of Louis XVI inspired sofas and armchairs link to the trims on the curtains and tiebacks via scatter cushions, all in the pastel colours traditional of the famous French paTisserie. A skylight allows plenty of light in, while the views across the bow are spectacular.

PALATIAL STAIRCASES – The elegant sweeping Calacatta marble staircase with ornate brushed steel and 23.8-carat Gold handrail creates an impressive first sight for guests and sets the tone for the rest of this palatial yacht.

Rising through five decks, it gives a view from the guest accommodation on the lower deck all the way to the upper deck’s painted ceiling. Suspended above the lobby are the hanging balconies of the upper decks, allowing for the visually stunning impact of a quadruple height ceiling, a very rare feature on a yacht.

A lift shell inspired by Le Bristol in Paris with its own ornate sofa inside completes this space. As you ascend the spiralling staircase to each floor you are greeted by a repeated bespoke designed marble marquetry motif on the floor beneath your feet.

Inside One of MYS 2019's Largest Yachts: 111m TIS

By George Bains

Lürssen and Winch delivered their long-awaited 111 metre collaboration TIS earlier this year as the sight of her striking exterior captivated yachting enthusiasts around the world. This week, we step inside this magnificent yacht to unveil the interior that make her a floating Palace.

Esteemed British studio Winch Design penned her dramatic and well-balanced exterior profile, along with an interior that sends you on a period-based journey through worldwide luxury. Tis truly demonstrates the limitless possibilities that arise when one of the builder of some of the world’s largest yachts solicits the world-class expertise of a designer with the prominence of Andrew Winch.

The superyacht’s main staircase creates dramatic and powerful ambience, leading from the sophisticated main deck saloon up to the more relaxed Owner’s saloon. The Owner, who was very much involved throughout the design process, has fitted the saloon with their own French antique furniture, adding a personal touch in amongst the impressive presence of TIS.

A complex assortment of geographical-based design themes that ensure voyages aboard TIS are packed with adventure both inside and out. Each guest suite features styling from different locations, each picked according to the Owner’s passions. Running through the yacht there are design influences from all over the globe, stretching from Tuscany to South East Asia and over to New York, bringing the best out of each region’s history.

While the design has versatile influences, there is a consistent use of bright coloured materials and large windows which further extends the spaciousness of this gigayacht. The saloons are blessed with panoramic views that flood the areas with natural light, complementing the décor’s light feel, and the Owner’s suite is fitted with a skylight and two fixed balconies.

Winch’s design includes impressive spaces for guest entertainment, notably her exquisite dining areas which provide options from a main deck dining table illuminated by three Czech crystal chandeliers, to a 19-person al-fresco table. TIS is complete with two unique cinemas located both indoor and out, the latter a flexible space on the helipad that can also be used as a dancefloor for memorable evenings.

TIS is a unique project that plays beautifully between a timeless exterior and an interior that seamlessly blends the very best of vintage luxury, while offering everything and more that an Owner and their guests could want on board a superyacht. This unique vessel will be on display at the Monaco Yacht Show at the end of next month, where she is certain to draw a few sets of eyes.

Lürssen Yachts TIS

SY64 – Winter 2019-2020

A super luxury floating hotel which thanks to its Ice Class compliance can cruise the remotest zones. This is a fitting way to describe TIS a 111 metre long superyacht whose interiors and exterior layout and decor have been initialled by Winch Design studio. Five star hotel inspiration has gone into this project like London’s Claridges and Le Bristol in Paris.

Lürssen shipyard in Germany has enjoyed a good year highlighted by the launching of three very large superyachts which took place in the course of 2019. The smallest of the three is 95 metre Madsummer initialled by Harrison Eidsgaard and by Laura Sessa; the largest is Flying Fox which measures all of 136 metres by both Espen Øino and Mark Berryman. The in between model is TIS with an LOA of 111 metres built with Winch Design’s collaboration in compliance with PYC class requisites. This yacht sports a beam of nearly 17 metres which together with six decks produce an awesome silhouette. TIS boasts incredible interior volumes which offered the British Design Studio a unique opportunity. These translate into precious, classic decor arrangements and playful elements among which Calacatta Vagli Marble flooring, while bulkheads and ceilings have been given a cream hand-dragged paint effect with 23.8 carat gold ceiling profiles. All of this enhances an antique, lived-in feel throughout the yacht.

Lürssen Yachts TIS

Louis XIV to Louis XVIII style furniture is set in the owner’s private living room as well even if lime green yellow hues are widely used creating a more informal atmosphere. The difference of the owner’s dedicated living room with other areas is further enhanced by antique objects, such as De Gournay silk fabric which enriches some of the fine handcrafted boiserie, as well as Winch Design’s tailor made sofas, armchairs and chandeliers with blown glass leaves. A large winter garden in the stern area of the main deck can be used any time of year thanks to A/C completes the picture. Further forward the owner’s suite offers a 180° view of the surrounding waters, a walk in wardrobe, two bathrooms (his/her) which are recognizable due to diversely coloured marble lining and by the diverse fold away balconies installed into both sides of the topsides. Detailed floral design work in the area with cream coloured finishes instil a welcoming almost intimate atmosphere.

Eight guest cabins each representing a different geographical area are distributed over two decks. Four are situated along the lower one and the other four along the main deck. Commencing with the first four there’s “Provence” and “China Seas”, they can easily convert from singles to doubles. “Provence” sports summer colours with a special emphasis on yellow, while “China Seas” recalls the green shades of bamboo forests. The following two cabins are “Russian Dacha” and “Tuscany” which obviously recall Russia’s cold climate and Italy’s sunny region. The remaining four cabins are called “London”, “Paris” “New York” and “Marrakech”. The first of these could be a room at Claridges with chrome white contrasting intense blue hues. The second one recalls Fleur-de-Lis and Toile de Joie style printed on fine fabric. The “New York” cabin brings together the best of the Art Déco period between the 1930’s and 1940’s with explicit reference to the Chrysler Building, one of this period’s artistic, iconic symbols. “Marrakech” is dedicated to the most important of the four Imperial Cities which stands out for topical chrome earth colouring enriched with mother of pearl inserts.

Lürssen Yachts TIS

Tenders and water toys abound and there are two certified helipads for an EC135 helicopter. With a pair of MTU 20V 4000 M73 engines, “TIS” can reach 18 knots, and sports a remarkable range of 7,000 nautical miles at 12 knots.

Inside the magnificent TIS

This idea best describes the superyacht Tis, which Lürssen has painstakingly built for five years with the assistance of Winch Design. The contract for the construction of Project Palo Alto was signed in 2014, and after the hull and superstructure were ready, the vessel spent 22 months in dry dock in Bremen, and then launched and in mid-August 2018 went to sea trials. The interior complexity of the project was so high that it took just under a year to complete the finishing: last June, Tis was finally handed over to the owner and sailed from Germany to the Mediterranean, where she spent the entire season and took part in the Monaco Yacht Show.

Andrew Winch and his talented team have designed both the interior and exterior designs of the yacht. Outwardly, it is somewhat reminiscent of Phoenix 2: their continuous classic deck lines are very similar, but at the same time its exterior is completely independent.

In addition, the client never liked portholes that were too small on yachts, so he asked the shipyard to install the largest windows and transparent doors through which grandiose views were opened. The windows are arranged so that the external and internal spaces merge into each other in a natural way, and the open areas can be isolated and heated if the yacht is in cold waters, or combined with premises in warm climates.

All this allows you to live a wonderful life in a luxurious environment with first-class service (38 people in the crew!), Invite friends and organize unforgettable holidays. There are two helipads on board (the bow is certified), but the owner wanted to cover the upper one, on the sundeck, with teak and turn it into a private terrace, since he does not plan to use it for its intended purpose. A logical decision, considering that on the sundeck you can arrange a dinner with seating for 60 people and throw a disco, since the necessary equipment along with an open-air cinema is integrated into the superstructure.

I almost forgot: there is another place here that perfectly characterizes the lifestyle of the owners. This tea room is a fantastically cozy little cafe in the spirit of Ladurée. Decorated in the colors of a famous Parisian pastry shop, the space is wonderfully complemented by armchairs and sofas from the time of Louis XVI, and it acts as a cherry on the cake from the decks.

But what is this floating palace like a ship? Or is Tis good only as an apartment anchored off the shores of the Mediterranean, a kind of royal houseboat? It would be a mistake to think so, for the yacht is prepared and superbly equipped for cruising the oceans, including polar latitudes. With an ice-strengthened hull (ICE class 1-D) and two helipads, one of which can store and refuel a helicopter, it can act as a fully independent explorer with above average fuel autonomy (7000 miles at 12 knots). Onboard there is a system for using heat from generators, powerful watermakers, four Quantum XT stabilizers, and the level of noise and vibration is minimized through the use of elastic cushions of the propulsion engines and the enclosure of generators in special soundproof boxes.

According to Andrew Winch, the owner of Tis plans to live in his “little house” for eight months a year with his wife and maybe sometimes with a child. Whether such a castle on the water is needed for this is not for us to judge, but the fact that this castle is full of beauty of the highest order is beyond doubt.

Tis is one of those yachts in which the interior design “grows” extremely deeply into the structure, merging with it in such a way that the subsequent refit with a radical change in style seems simply unthinkable.

“The cabins here are designed to evoke memories of the places the owners have been,” explains Matthew Wilkinson, companion and designer at Winch Design. “Family vacations in Provence, traveling around Tuscany, holidays in Marrakech … and the atmosphere of these places is reflected even in the decoration of the bathrooms, which at times resemble jewelry boxes.”

Probably, the customer chose Andrew Winch’s studio not only because he personally knows this charismatic master, but also because Winch Design is able to embody wishes without reference to any one style and weave a harmonious “design canvas” using completely different “threads “. A layman will hardly be able to calculate the number of materials used in the interior of Tis, and the detailing of the elements here is exactly the way its owners see it – this is noticeable in the textures, and especially in the choice of furniture.

Initially, it was assumed that the French furniture of the era of Louis XIV – Louis XVIII on the yacht will be taken from the collection that the owners have been lovingly collecting over the years. However, the antique furnishings cannot be simply taken and transferred to the ship, because often cables must be laid inside cabinets, chests of drawers and nightstands, and sockets must be integrated into them. Therefore, the designers copied the originals and designed replicas adapted to the required dimensions, which were then manually created by the masters of the Rinck and Dissidi companies. The same has been done with works of art, which are ubiquitous in decoration: they have been replaced by impeccable copies or high-resolution photographs.

Perhaps one of the most spectacular areas on board the Tis is the atrium and the central spiral staircase, the open spans of which seem to be suspended, and from below through all decks you can see the topmost “floor”. Getting here for the first time, you really freeze with an open mouth, so grandiose is the magnificently realized design of the designers.

“This is not a nouveau riche, but a sophisticated, very refined and noble yacht,” says Andrew Winch. – Yes, there is a lot of gilding, but nowhere is there shiny gold, only aged, muted antique soft gilding. To make the railings, we specially went to the Le Bristol hotel, thoroughly studied the gilding and achieved exactly the same one ”.

There are several ways to obtain aged gilding: relatively simple and cheap (using a pigment of the appropriate shade) and much more complicated, when gilding is exposed to external factors in order to quickly reproduce the natural course of time. It is in the second case that the result is perceived organically, and, for example, the gilding (23.8 carats) on the Tis ceilings does not seem to be a remake at all.

When you start thinking about what the Tis interiors are made of, you quickly realize that you cannot believe your eyes. The yacht is built to PYC standards, which means that finishing, including decorative, must be non-combustible, and it is extremely difficult to achieve this with such a scale. Almost all elements here are made of aluminum, painted or covered with the finest veneer, synthetic non-combustible resin or natural stone cuts. It took a lot of work to make all this look noble and tactilely perceived as real, and LIST, Oldenburger and BSW were involved in the production of the interiors. Most of the lighting fixtures, including the chic chandelier with cascading crystal petals in the saloon on the owner’s deck, were custom-made for Tis by the Czech company Preciosa Lighting, and some of the rooms have fireplaces to enhance the comfort.

This is not a nouveau riche, but a refined, very refined and noble yacht

As one of the indicators for assessing the level of the yacht’s interior, you can use sensors and sprays of an automatic fire extinguishing system: not every designer and shipyard manages to “implant” them in the finish as flawlessly as it is done on Tis.

This yacht is essentially a complex of apartments where the owner, guests and staff live on different, intelligently zoned decks. For example, the Tis transom was originally designed as a front gate – a kind of drawbridge across the moat at the entrance to the castle. From a distance it seems to be made of wood, but this is only an illusion: in fact, it is skillfully painted. Having passed the “bridge”, the guests find themselves on a wonderful “beach” with a majestic staircase (the language cannot be called a ladder) to the main deck. The “beach club”, designed in the spirit of the island of Capri, has a bar and a dining table, and especially for men there is a relaxation area where, like in a sports bar, they can calmly watch football after a sauna, without fear of being watched from the outside. Unlike many “beach clubs”, this area on Tis is reliably hidden from prying eyes, while maintaining a connection with the sea.

There is another spa area on board. It is located on the same deck as the wheelhouse and includes a hammam, swimming pool, gym, massage room and hairdresser. The 12-meter pool with glass inserts in the sides of the bowl allows you to swim against the current created by the jet, and according to Andrew Winch, who had a chance to try it when the yacht was anchored by Palma, the pleasure is fantastic.

The windows on board are arranged so that the outer and inner spaces merge into each other in a natural way

Tis has a superbly equipped business center and one of the dining rooms serves as a conference room. There, a multifunctional table has all the necessary equipment, including microphones and power outlets, a video conferencing screen, and the room can be completely isolated for confidential meetings.

By the way, Tis is the owner’s first yacht, but he also has a rich charter experience. By the time he was ripe for building his own boat, he already understood well what he needed.

“From day one, the customer said I don’t need a yacht with low ceilings,” recalls Andrew Winch. – To achieve this, it was necessary to design multilevel decks, matching them with the lines of the exterior, and thereby increase the height of the premises. The ceiling in the Tis master cabin is the highest we have ever done and, in addition to elegance, adds value to the interiors. You will certainly feel it when you look around the yacht. “

Lürssen Yachts Tis superyacht gigayacht Winch Design

Tis is a very small name for what turns out to be a very, very large yacht. The 364-footer was launched by Lürssen Yachts on Monday, as part of the multiyear build process. The German builder expects to start sea trials in October and eventually deliver the yacht to its owner at an unspecified point over the winter.

The Winch Design is long, lithe, classic, and simple-looking in an elegant way, especially for a gigayacht of its substantial length. Winch did a masterful job of keeping the profile balanced and seemingly low to the water. He did this partly by giving the upper decks plenty of exterior space, fore and aft, so the yacht does not look dense, like many stacked, wedding-cake yacht designs. The navy-blue hull also has an unusually long foredeck compared to most contemporary gigayachts, so the profile once again seems slender, rather than heavy. The stern also ends relatively close to the water, with a soft tumblehome design that is more common on 30-foot motor yachts.

The decks flow upward in a nice proportional stairstep pattern at the stern, while the curves in front soften the profile. The tasteful cutouts along the shearline fuse the deck and superstructure aesthetically, giving Tis a distinctive profile that nobody will ever mistake for another yacht of its stature.

Lürssen remains mum about the interior or any other significant details of Tis , as the builder often does with its new launches, but it’s clear that the yacht’s 55-foot beam and banks of windows across all decks create abundant, light-filled interior spaces. The exterior spaces are likewise plentiful on the top three decks.

This newest launch from Lürssen will fall in the top 35 of the world’s largest yachts. To gain a sense of perspective, look for people standing on the decks. They appear like small dots, which shows just how large Tis really is.

Tiara Yachts Expands LS Line with Largest Outboard Model to Date, the 56 LS

56 LS view from waterline

Holland, Mich., (August 27, 2024)  -  Tiara Yachts , the family-owned manufacturer of American-made luxury watercrafts, announced today the addition of the 56 LS to its portfolio of Luxury Sport vessels. The largest and most ambitious of Tiara’s outboard models to date, the 56 LS will feature the sophisticated exterior and interior amenities the LS lineup is known for, while also offering the power of four Mercury Verado 600 V12 outboard engines.

“The Luxury Sport formula has been a successful one for Tiara, elevating the day yachting experience with versatile social zones and luxurious amenities. The 56 LS builds upon that foundation. Everything is amplified on this boat,” Tiara Yachts CEO, Tom Slikkers, said. “I’m confident our customers are going to be just as excited as we are about this addition to our portfolio.”

Tiara’s first quad engine outboard model, the 56 LS will have a top speed of 57 MPH, making it one of the fastest Tiara ever built. The integrated electronics package includes Garmin ®  Marine Navigation Systems.

The exterior of the 56 LS offers boaters several social spaces including a fully equipped galley that overlooks the aft cockpit. Two unique aft cockpit module options focused on entertaining or fishing allow each vessel to be customized. Port and starboard Hullside terraces expand the beam by more than six feet.

Below deck, two staterooms and two private heads can comfortably welcome five guests for overnight or extended stays.

“Our LS line has been a favorite of our customers and we're eager to showcase this new addition to our portfolio,” said Andrew Bartlett, Director of Design at Tiara.  “Our customers will find multiple features onboard that allow them to enjoy the water, entertain family and friends and comfortably stay overnight. As outboard models continue to have a resurgence in the boating industry, we’re excited to introduce another Tiara to the market.”

The launch of the 56 LS comes amidst several milestones for Tiara Yachts including:

·       The celebration of its  50 th  year of business

·       The launch of the newly  revamped 43 LE

·       The EX 54 being named a   Boating Industry  Top Product of 2024

The 56 LS will be debuting at the 2025 Miami International Boating Show.

Ex-charterer buys brand new 111m/366ft Lurssen superyacht TIS

By Rebecca Bradbury   15 August 2018

It has been revealed that the owner of the brand new 111m/366ft superyacht TIS , which was launched from Lurssen  earlier this week, was a long-time charterer before commissioning the German shipyard to build the huge yacht.

Experienced in chartering some of the world’s finest yachts, the new owner was able to have a significant input into the design of TIS , with contributions made on nearly every aspect of the new build. This ranged from guest accommodation to propulsion packages to crew area design.

Through first-hand experience, he knew what features, amenities and layout best fited around his cruising lifestyle and he was able to transfer this invaluable insight into building the new six-deck motor yacht .

motor yacht TIS after launch from Lurssen's facilities

This demonstrates why it is such a huge advantage for individuals thinking about buying a superyacht to undertake private yacht charters before making the leap to ownership. In fact, over 60 percent of people who buy new superyachts have chartered before.

It was revealed TIS’s owner was able to offer serious contributions to Andrew Winch Design, the London-based firm behind both the exterior and interior design as a result of all his spent chartering yachts.

Among the key features requested are two helipads, a 12-metre swimming pool, a resort-inspired spa and spectacular staircases which, apparently, have only been seen in palaces to date.

The owner also asked for a very large private owner’s deck, and there will be a further 11 guest cabins, allowing superyacht TIS to sleep 22 guests.

tis yacht interior

Another key feature is the tender garage, which is able to house two 13m tenders, two 10m tenders, a submarine and a huge array of other water toys.

The capacity to hold such a line-up of tenders and water toys is certainly impressive and, by looking at the main image and the person standing dwarfed on the foredeck, you can get a feel of just how huge the proportions of this yacht are.

Recently released on Lurssen’s social media, these new photos also confirm her name to be TIS after previously being known as ‘Project Palo Alto’. She is due to undergo some further work before being delivered to her new owner later this year.

Currently it is unknown whether Superyacht TIS will join the charter fleet, but for more details on chartering other Lurssen yachts, speak to your preferred charter broker .
