Similar boat companies to Tiara

Having trouble finding boat manufactures similar to Tiara. Tiara is just a little pricey. Anyone know of any? Looking for a nice boat to entertain on between 30-34 ft.

Re: Similar boat companies to Tiara Hi, and welcome to iboats! Your question is too broad. Are you talking about the Tiara 'Open' or 'Convertible' models? Similar in what way? Construction? That'll be tough. Layout? Luhrs makes 'Open' models in 30-34'. Are you talkiing about new or used boats? What's your budget? Get a little more specific and maybe somebody will have some ideas. Where do you boat (region and type of water)? How do you want to use it? Are you looking for a lot of room to entertain for the day, or do you like overnight/weekend/extended stays aboard? I like Tiara Opens, too. Friends had a mid-90's 29'- beautiful boat.

Re: Similar boat companies to Tiara I agree with JoLin, Tiara is regarded as a higher end boat, so if your looking for that perceived (and probably well deserved) quality, your probably going to pay for it. If your looking for a Tiara type of boat, meaning a fishing/cruising boat, that may broaden opinions. I've never been aboard a Tiara, but have always admired the style and the capabilities they seem to have!

Re: Similar boat companies to Tiara Tiara, Pursuit, S2 Yachts and SlickCraft are all from the same family (Slikkers). Tiara and Pursuit are the only current/active part of the S2 Yachts family. They also made sailboats for a number of years and sold them simply as the S2 brand. SlickCraft was the first brand and it was sold off to AMF and then bought back by Slikkers later. So, not sure what you are looking for specifically, but if you found a Tiara, Pursuit or Slickcraft (last produced in the late 80s) they would all have similar family traits.

Re: Similar boat companies to Tiara A Tiara 3100 Coronet sound like it would meet your needs nicely. I don't know of any other company that makes a day boat as nice as that.
- Oct 2, 2012
Re: Similar boat companies to Tiara Wellcraft Coastal, Rampage, some of the larger Grady Whites would also fit that decription.

Unveiling the Tiara Yachts EX 54: A Comprehensive Review
- By Chris Caswell
- August 30, 2024
Tiara Yachts entered new territory with its EX 60 last year , and its EX 54 follows that same magic in a smaller package. Like the EX 60, the EX 54 has modular seating in the cockpit, allowing each owner to tailor the yacht to a specific mission.
My educated guess says that the Lounge module will be the most popular, with a pair of settees facing across a folding teak table. Not only does this setup make for great alfresco entertaining, but the aft settee also incorporates a sink, grill, fridge and optional ice maker across the transom.
The Adventure module has fishing written all over it, replacing the aft settee with more foot space and a console with five rod holders, tackle lockers, a cutting board and a sink.
The last module is the Glass Patio, which replaces the backrest of the aft settee with a laminated glass bulkhead so guests (and parents) can keep an eye on the watery action off the stern. I’d recommend the optional hydraulic platform (a 5-foot platform is standard) with steps descending into the water and built-in chocks to stow a tender. All the cockpit modules raise electrically to reveal a garage for water toys and gear.
Like many powerboats these days, the Tiara EX 54 has foldout hullsides to create extended cockpit space, but Tiara goes further with flush-mounted boarding doors on each side. This design makes for easy step-aboard access while leaving nothing to stub toes with the sides folded down.
Forward of the seating modules and up two steps on the mezzanine level is an aft-facing table with twin hassocks (with stowage). Forward of that and to port, with an electrically disappearing window, a pair of stools create a salon-facing bar. The adjacent two-panel sliding doors can open the salon entirely to the cockpit.
In the salon, which has a Herculan teak sole, a convertible dinette to port forms a berth by lowering the high-gloss teak table. (It’s the same size as the one on the EX 60.) The galley is fitted out for cruising, with a two-burner Kenyon induction cooktop, cookware, a microwave/convection oven, a two-drawer fridge and a stainless-steel sink. Behind the galley countertop is a pop-up 43-inch TV that faces the lounge. The absence of overhead cabinets makes for a panoramic view, with stowage in drawers and lockers.
Just forward, the skipper can use the sliding pilothouse door for easy side-deck access. This, along with a clever outboard sliding armrest on the Stidd double-wide helm seat, lets the skipper stand on the side deck and use the Volvo Penta joystick for docking. Overhead is a Webasto electric sunroof.
The dash is fitted with Volvo Penta’s Glass Cockpit, including two 22-inch Garmin GPSMap 8622 displays and a row of backlit buttons for systems. The equipment includes a Garmin autopilot, Fantom 54 radar, VHF radio and aft-facing cockpit camera.
Opposite the helm is a double-wide companion seat that, at the push of a button, slides aft so everyone can join in the action while running to the next waypoint. The seat also slides forward to create a U-shaped dinette. That companion seat has a console with an optional Garmin GPSMap 8622.
Step down into the airy, bright atrium from salon level, and a door leads forward from the foyer to the VIP stateroom with a walk-around island queen berth. It lifts to reveal lighted stowage for suitcases. A door allows private access to the guest head—also off the foyer—with a VacuFlush head and stall shower. Across the foyer is a second stateroom, ideally for kids, with bunk berths.
The full-beam owner’s stateroom is aft with 6-foot-5-inch headroom and a queen-size pedestal berth. The EX 54 that I got aboard had the full bureau to starboard. (A settee is optional.) The space had 23 drawers for extended cruising, plus a cedar-lined hanging locker like the ones in the other staterooms. A GE washer-dryer was tucked away in the passageway to this stateroom, and the private head included a Lacava vessel sink, stowage and a stall shower.
Going forward on deck is made secure by solid coamings capped by stainless-steel rails. The bow area has a multiuse lounge with sun pads and a removable table. The all-chain windlass is tucked under a hatch, with a wired remote as well as helm controls. I liked the two walkways on each side of the windlass locker, allowing deck crew to look down securely on the anchor.
Power for the EX 54 is twin Volvo Penta IPS2 950 diesels paired to pod drives, and the engine room is clearly arranged for service techs or hands-on owners. A five-step ladder leads down from the cockpit, and everything from the oil changers and seacocks to the 13.5 kW Onan genset is readily accessible.
Underway, the EX 54 is pure fun. We started our runs in smooth water on the Intracoastal Waterway, where I checked a 33.7-knot top speed and indulged in some doughnuts and swoops. I recorded just 70 decibels at full throttle with the sunroof open, making conversation easy. Once offshore, the yacht’s fine entry and 14-degree transom deadrise handled the lumpy Gulf Stream, throwing spray far to the side and providing a smooth, predictable, stable ride. I didn’t need handrails, but I did take note that Tiara has provided a plethora of them, often neatly concealed (next to the forward sun pad, for example).
Whether for entertaining, cruising with friends, fishing or simply enjoying the water, the Tiara Yachts EX 54 can be tailored to fit many owners’ ideas of fun.
This second-generation Volvo Penta diesel IPS2 950 pod-drive system punches out 750 hp, driving through a 1.7:1 gearbox with a jack shaft that allows the engines to sit closer to the center of the yacht. With Volvo’s P4 props, cruise speed was 26 knots for a range of about 300 nautical miles.
Built To Take It
The EX 54 has a no-wood hull. The yacht’s hull, deck and topsides are backed by closed-cell foam coring that provides strength as well as soundproofing. A fiberglass grid supports the engines and interior, adding strength and rigidity.
Garmin Glass Cockpit
Optimized for use with Volvo Penta power, this user-friendly interface combines navigation (a chart plotter, GPS, sonar and radar) with operations (engine data and multitouch systems screens). Preloaded with BlueChart G3 coastal charts, it provides detail to 1 foot with contours for fishing, as well as depth shading and shallow-water warnings.

Tiara’s New 54-Foot Yacht Has a Deck That Transforms Right in Front of You

Tiara Yachts is a U.S. builder that values adventure as a key piece of its DNA. I’ve done trips on board a number of their boats that were focused on fishing and diving. Those models were built for fun—small and sporty with a wind-in-your-hair vibe.

The next model down is the new EX54, which debuted at last month’s Miami show. With a length that is six feet smaller, this boat is just as creative with yacht-y accoutrements, along with attention to detail that cements Tiara’s next-generation ambitions. I had a chance to step aboard to see the similarities with the EX60.
The EX54’s’s cockpit will most likely lure many owners away from similar-sized competitors, thanks to its customizability. It comes in three setups that include a social version with two settees facing one another, an adventure configuration that loses the rear settee to make room for dive tanks and scuba gear, or a “glass-patio” design with modular ottomans.
The boat in Miami had the double settee which, coupled with mezzanine seating a few steps up and forward, gave this boat the feel of a larger motoryacht, in line with the trend of maximizing the exterior space that is currently in vogue in the superyacht world. The mezzanine seating featured a flip-down teak bar to port with a flip-up window with Australian undertones. I found it a bit odd that the bar was not adjacent to the amidships galley for easier service.
The EX54’s cabin featured two Tiara hallmarks: high-level woodwork and a focus on ergonomics. The teak across the main deck was richly grained, with snug joinery. Handholds were common as well, but discreetly embedded in structures like a dining table and a countertop so as not to dim the yacht’s aesthetic appeal.
Other nods to onboard comfort can be found down in the full-beam master amidships that is remarkably roomy for a boat this size, a trait that extended to the head where the shower had 6-feet, 8-inches of headroom and enough shoulder space for just about anyone, short of NBA stature, to fit comfortably.
The boat is powered by twin Volvo Penta IPS2 950s that is paired with a glass cockpit by Garmin. The joystick control gives the driver excellent slow-speed maneuverability and high-speed handling as well as low noise. In speed tests, the boat reached a top end of 38.7 mph, with a friendly cruise of 30.6 mph that delivered a 334-mile range.
In the end, what you’re getting is a yacht with Tiara’s trademark DNA for adventure and seaworthiness in a package that is decidedly more luxe. It’s a combination that that should be appealing, both to Tiara owners looking to move up, and to owners of foreign-built vessels that may soon come around to the rising tide of American build quality.

TIARA EX 54 (2024-)
2024 marks Tiara's 50th anniversary. The experience and expertise built over half a decade shows through in the new Tiara EX54. The EX54 is well thought out and solidly constructed. Configurable salon and deck spaces, which Tiara refers to as "flexible luxury" allow for a multiple-purpose cruising or entertaining platform. The three stateroom configuration provides ample space for longer cruising. All of this combined with the performance of the twin Volvo Penta IPS2 950s power the yacht to a 30-mph cruise speed. The Tiara EX54 is a head-turner and worth a look by anyone seeking a boat in this class.

Tiara yachts sees sales success at the miami international boat show.
The boat maker sold 21 units at the world’s largest boat show
HOLLAND, Mich., March 05, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Tiara Yachts , a family-owned manufacturer of American-made luxury watercrafts, reported another year of positive sales today following the 2024 Miami International Boat Show (MIBS) earlier this month. The company exceeded its goals by selling 21 units, a 10% increase compared to 2023.
“The energy at Miami this year was excellent,” said Sue Kane, Tiara’s Director of Sales. “The excitement about our products was evident from day one, and the performance at the show by our team was phenomenal. This set the stage for a great week and our best sales performance at MIBS in recent years.”
Tiara’s MIBS presence was anchored by the debut of the all-new EX 54, the second model in the EX series following the EX 60. Also featured were several highly sought-after outboard models spanning from 34 to 48 feet from Tiara’s Luxury Express (LE), Luxury Sport (LS), and Luxury Crossover (LX) lines, including the 48 LE, 48 LS, 43 LS, 38 LS 34 LS and 34 LX. In addition, recently added Fishing Modules and Equipment packages were on display.
“We look forward to MIBS every year,” said Tom Slikkers, CEO and President of Tiara Yachts. “This year, it was particularly exciting as we not only celebrated the debut of our new EX 54 but also kicked off our 50th anniversary on February 18. Based on what we saw and heard from customers and dealers alike, we could not be more excited about what lies ahead for our company.”
During the show, Tiara Yachts announced interior and exterior enhancements coming to its 43 LE, earned the 2023 Marine Industry Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) Award from the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) for the 16th consecutive year and celebrated its 50th anniversary on the final day of the show, Sunday, February 18.
Customers can next view Tiara Yachts’ vessels at the Palm Beach International Boat Show from March 21-24; Tiara’s display will be located between Ramp 7 and 8.

Tiara Yachts traces its heritage back to 1946 , when founder Leon Slikkers began his boat-building career at Chris-Craft. Within 10 years he would go on to form his own brand, SlickCraft, embrace fiberglass hull construction and ultimately found S2 Yachts with sons David and Robert in 1974. Initially a builder of sailboats, S2 launched the Tiara powerboat line in 1976 that would ultimately become today’s Tiara Yachts brand. Handcrafted luxury models with virtually all components built in-house in Holland, Michigan , Tiara now produces 9 different models from 34’ to 60’. These include the EX series, powered by Volvo Penta’s Inboard Performance System (IPS) pod drives, and the LS, LX and LE models powered by Mercury Verado outboards.
