Much better than the times I've been here before. The fish fry was just good; breading too thick, and the fish a little over fried on both the cod and walleye dinners. Creole risotto was tasty as was the cole slaw. Special on rail old fashions tonight! We'll see if I can up the rating after trying other items on the menu.
Very poor service. Very poor meal. Will not return until changes hand again. This is a great location and needs a great chef and menu
First and foremost, the Kenosha Yacht Club is the least yacht club to ever yacht club. I love the KYC's restaurant for the friendly and attentive service, chill vibe, and happy hour prices on drinks and food. Also they finally brought back Scott and Roger, who seem to know how to actually run the place. That being said, there's still massive room for improvement. They currently have a mussel special for $18. In Kenosha. This is literally one of the cheapest seafoods available and saying it's a pound of mussels doesn't justify that price unless it's covered in saffron and champagne with a shave of truffle. Very confusing. Speaking of confusing, the menu is written poorly and inconsistently so it can be difficult to know exactly what you're getting. On my last visit one of the bartenders shook my glass of half-way decent wine over ice without asking me if that was ok. It completely ruined the wine and I would have been happy to order something else if I knew my wine was going to be bruised and (essentially) turned into cheap table wine. The place was too busy to mention it and it was half-off, but fair warning. The food is typical heavy Wisconsin fare. Would love to see a Cobb salad or something of the sort that isn't carb-drenched on the menu. If you feel comfortable charging $18 for a dish of mussels, you could easily charge $16 for that and still have a decent margin. Sorry, guys, but a salad with chicken and cheddar cheese just doesn't work post-1960 (or ever). That being said, it's a little gem of a place with friendly service, consistently great soup, and a staff who seems committed to improving the place. Worth visiting when the weather is beautiful and the spacious patio is available. Definitely recommend as long as you know what to expect.
The location of the Kenosha Yacht Club is AMAZING!! Waterfront with tons of windows and outdoor seating offers views with a cozy feel for all seasons. The management keeps changing and the restaurant always seems to run into problems. I'm not sure why no one seems to be able to make it but really someone comes in and stays. They can develop a great reputation and strong following. I stopped in one evening to meet a friend for appetizers and cocktails. They had just opened for the evening and we sat at the bar. It was quiet because it was early so we were able to chat and enjoy the view. The bartender was very pleasant and friendly. He chatted with us and stayed attentive once it became busy. We asked about the daily soup but it wasn't ready yet. Later, not long before we were about to wrap up, he brought us complimentary cups of soup. What a thoughtful gesture! We ordered two appetizers and wine. I had white and my friend had red. Everything was really tasty - especially the surprise homemade soup! I really hope this spot makes a real go of it. It really should be on everyone's radar for the kind service, tasty food and the perfect location.
BIG OLD GOOSE EGG FOR THIS PLACE 0 ZEROS!!!!!! WOW, if you are hungry DO NOT GO HERE!!' For being out of state looked good okay. Well looks is not what they seem. Start off, I myself had to get our drinks for a table of 8. NO waiter to serve us I had to get our silverware myself and ketchup and mustard. The food was a JOKE!!!! Burgers JOKE!!!! Shrimp scampi JOKE!!! I ordered Berchetta that was a big mistake!!! Prime Rib JOKE!!!! This place is NOT a place to have dinner at all. Worst ever!!!! NEVER EVER AGAIN!!!! Bartender and waiter and that's it on a night for a band!!! Pictures attached!!! BIG FAT 0 for stars

These are quite possibly the most arrogant, ignorant people running a restaurant I have ever seen. We arrived about 4:30 and even though their website said they were open, the place looked closed, my wife walked in and was told they were in fact open and would send a waitress outside to where we were sitting. That's it. That's all they said. When the waitress came out and then told us because they had a "big party" all they were serving was fish and chips!! What does a party have to do with it? And who's running this asylum? Apparently the kitchen!! It's sad because this is a great location with water views, the food is very good since they hired a new chef. It could be a gold mine for lack of management who appreciates their customers. Did what we do every time we go there and find a new drama brewing. We went across the way to the Boathouse!! Food not as good but much more peaceful!
Pretty view of the harbor but it wasn't anything to write home about or say much more.
Called to make a reservation for that evening (we have never been there and did not know what to expect)...when we arrived the place was a ghost town. Some guy at the bar told us to sit anywhere. When the server came out she said "oh someone was suppose to call you, but we are all out of food." My husband and I got a good chuckle out of it and chalked it up dive with a good view.
We made reservations for 6 pm for 10, but very little help. Took quite awhile to get service but visiting so didn't mind too much. The fish n Chips we're so horrible I could not eat past one disgusting bite. The cook came out and admitted they hadn't changed the oil. It was to be done the next day. Horrid taste and smell, soaked w old oil. Hamburger was cold! Had water for a long time w no napkins or silverware so wet table. Got food still before silverware or napkins. View is beautiful and they were nice about changing foods. We've eaten there last summer and everything was good. Oil should be changed often not on a certain day of the week when it's rancid. Hopefully they'll work at getting these things fixed so we can go back!
Another year, same terrible food. I ordered the Asian chicken salad for lunch and all I got was a plate of lettuce, cheddar cheese, Chinese noodles and cold pre-packaged grilled chicken. Half of the ingredients listed on the menu were missing. I could make a better salad at home. Credit card machine and ATM were not working due to internet issues. Glad I had enough cash in my purse to cover the bill.

Kenosha Yacht Club to Host America’s Boating Course Starting April 18, 2024
As boating enthusiasts eagerly prepare for the upcoming season, the Kenosha Yacht Club is pleased to announce the launch of the United States Power Squadron America’s Boating Course, starting Thursday, April 18, 2024. This comprehensive course will provide essential knowledge and skills for safe and responsible boating, including information on the Boater ID Card requirement mandated by the state of Wisconsin.
Boating is a cherished pastime in Wisconsin, offering countless opportunities for adventure and relaxation on the state’s picturesque waterways. However, ensuring safety on the water is paramount, and proper education is key to fostering a culture of responsible boating.
America’s Boating Course, hosted by the Kenosha Yacht Club, will equip boaters with the necessary expertise to navigate Wisconsin’s waters safely and confidently. From understanding navigational rules and regulations to recognizing potential hazards and practicing responsible boating etiquette, participants will gain invaluable insights to enhance their boating experience.
In addition to covering essential boating topics, the course will also address the Boater ID Card requirement mandated by the state of Wisconsin. Under Wisconsin law, individuals born on or after January 1, 1989, are required to possess a Boat ID Card to legally operate a motorboat or personal watercraft on Wisconsin waters. America’s Boating Course offers participants the opportunity to fulfill this requirement while acquiring vital boating knowledge and skills.
“We are thrilled to host the America’s Boating Course at the Kenosha Yacht Club,” said Joyce Rinehart, Commodore at the Kenosha Yacht Club. “This course not only provides participants with the tools they need to stay safe on the water but also ensures compliance with Wisconsin’s Boat ID Card requirement. We are committed to promoting responsible boating practices and enhancing the boating experience for our members and the community.”
America’s Boating Course at the Kenosha Yacht Club will consist of six informative sessions held on Thursday evenings, starting April 18, 2024. Whether you’re a novice boater or a seasoned veteran, all are welcome to participate and enhance their boating knowledge.
