Study Plans are available for these designs - remember a study plan gives you more details and a wood materials list usually on two A1 sheets, so that you can cost out a project before ordering the full plans. When you order the full construction plans you do not need to order the study plan as well, as all the study details are on the full plans.

| She has a daggerboard type keel with a steel core and lead bulb which is bolted in place for sailing but which can be raised using the main halyard for easy trailing. Construction is based on a ply framework consisting of ply bulkheads and a ply fore and aft girder which incorporates the keel box. The planks can then be fitted and finished using the simple stitch and tape method for the chine seams. |

At The Helm
At The Helm is about sharing my sailing experiences and innovations I have tried over many years. I have owned many different classes from dinks, catamarans and settling on trailerable mono-hulls. Your sailing grounds are from lakes to the oceans and the capability of going solo or with family, or friends is possible. I believe if you can sail, you are ready for the unexpected. With that experience, there is very little in life that will stand in your way.

COMMENTS
The LYNX 16 has been designed to meet the needs of the sailer who requires a modern small trailable boat. To retain the maximum possible internal living space she has twin bilgeboards which are mounted in cases below the bunks leaving the sole space completely free of obstructions.
Great Pelican 16vs Goshawk16. Goshawk is Paul Fisher's version, also 16 x 8 feet, but with a multichine firm bilge roundness to the sides. Don't know if any have been built but it looks like a very shapely and handsome craft for its type.
16' Goshawk Plans. The Goshawk was designed for an American company for use in their boat hire business. The design brief called for a boat which was tough and which, for only a 16' length, would have as comfortable a cabin space as possible.

Just been sent these photos of one of my Selway Fisher Goshawk 16' Trailer Sailers in Queensland, Australia. This one uses the optional Chinese Junk rig as opposed to the original gaff or lug rigs. Her present owner reports her to be the 'deal' small trailer sailer - roomy, stable with shallow draft. The client who built the first Goshawk 16 ...

Burgess chronicles his many trips in his Com-Pac 16 and proves what one can accomplish in a 16 foot sailboat. The original goal to make a high quality, seaworthy sailboat that is easy to sail, was definitley accomplished by Hutchins in the Com-Pac's 16 and 16-2.

Goshawk 14 Plans. The 14â Goshawk has emerged in the same way that the 16â Goshawk didâ by someone asking for a wider and deeper Skylark. What the client wanted was a small boat which was more than the normal dinghy type which tends to have a mid hull depth around 18â (450mm).
Goshawk. This 76’ Spirit of Tradition sloop was built by Brooklin Boat Yard and launched in 2005 just in time to participate in the Centennial running of the Marblehead to Halifax Race where she garnered line honors (1st to finish) in IRC Class.
