The boat has eight staterooms, able to accommodate 16 guests, with crew accommodations for 24. The profile has a faintly military profile, with a huge aft area. Despite the look, Wanderlust is actually one of the most entertainment-focused yachts on the water, with an abundant toy chest and many interior features.
Espen Øino, who also designed Wanderlust ’s predecessor Bold , created the yacht’s key design feature, a 4,300-sq. ft. hangar that becomes all things to all people. The aft bulwarks fold down to create a large landing area that can be used as a helipad, able to carry helicopters ranging from an EC145 to AW109.
On warm evenings, the hangar converts into one of three outdoor cinemas—the other two are located on the sun deck and bridge deck—or can be fitted with sound, media and light systems for party mode. The area is also large enough to store the yacht’s three tenders, including the 52-foot Windy SR52 that hits 46 knots. Besides the Sea-Doos, sailing dinghies, Fliteboards and transparent kayaks, the crew sometimes set up a trapeze with the on-deck crane for guests to swing from. “The large aft deck also doubles as a game platform where we play basketball, table tennis and use as a driving range with fish food golf balls,” says Edge.
The yacht’s outdoor setup includes exterior lounging areas, either covered with awnings or open to the sun, while al fresco dining is reserved for the sundeck aft with a table that faces out of the wind. There’s also a glass-fronted Jacuzzi on this level. More outdoor dining is on the upper deck, with a bar and barbecue.
“The owners love their outdoor spaces on board, and we have plenty of intimate spaces for guests to escape to,” says Edge. “Equally, we’re well-equipped for shoreside beach set ups and watersports days.”
Most often, the owners spend their time in the dedicated “loft,” which is the hallmark of the Silverloft series. The winter garden area is wrapped in a band of floor-to-ceiling privacy glass that allows guests to see out, but prevents onlookers from seeing in. Sliding glass doors all but disappear to reveal a shaded outdoor terrace. The jewel in the crown is the interactive LED ceiling that displays videos and images. “We upload a blue sky with clouds by day or stars at night. It’s a truly incredible space to be in,” says Edge.
Designed and fitted in-house by the Australian shipyard, the neutral interior is charter friendly with light oak flooring and marble that runs throughout the guest bathrooms, hallways and stairs.
“The owners purchased the vessel relatively late in the build process, so major design changes were not something we were looking at,” says Edge. “But the materials are all very neutral to suit most tastes.”

Review: Silver Yachts’ Wanderlust
BY Ryan Swift on 12 Jan 2023
The latest 85m launch from Australia’s Silver Yachts was built for a Cambodian businessman and is available for Indian Ocean charters
The 85m Wanderlust , built and launched by Australian yard Silver Yachts in 2022, is part of the yard’s Silver World Explorer series of all-aluminium expedition yachts. A tough, naval-looking exterior belies Wanderlust ’s interior luxury.
Silver Yachts Wanderlust is available for winter charter in the Indian Ocean
In keeping with a design philosophy set down over a decade ago by founder Guido Krass, Silver Yachts builds superyachts with relatively thin hulls. This means a little less room on board, but it also means that Silver Yachts burn a lot less fuel and cruise a lot faster than normal superyachts.
The owner of Wanderlust is Cambodian tycoon Yim Leak, chairman of BIC Group, a Cambodian conglomerate. In January 2021, BIC Group created BIC Marine, a partnership with Silver Yachts, to market Silver Yachts in Southeast Asia.
Wanderlust is built for long-range, autonomous cruising and with the capacity to house all manner of toys and tenders. The 400 sqm aft deck presents a wide-open space that can be used to store an array of tenders and toys. The aft deck is also home to a commercial helideck, and it can be cleared for use as an entertainment space. There is enough room on the aft deck to store tenders up to 15m. The sides fold down as well, creating an enormous beach club/tender bay.
Wanderlust has four tenders and an array of water toys, including four eFoils – the electric foiling wakeboard – in its arsenal of fun. Among the tenders are a 5m RIB, two 10m RIBs and a 4m SOLAS rescue boat (provided by the yard).
The enclosed helicopter hanger, forward of the aft main deck, also doubles as a gym, disco or cinema. The hanger is equipped with a 3.4m x 2m LED Media Wall screen, for movie viewing or to just create a groovy mood.
One of the outstanding features of the Silver Yachts’ Explorer series is the huge outdoor areas that can be found on all three decks. Wanderlust offers her owner numerous places, big and small, to enjoy a fine meal or a drink while taking in a fantastic view.
Read: Silver Yachts’ Bold in Review
Wanderlust has a range of 5,800nm at 14 knots, whereas normal superyachts of this size have to throttle down to 10 or 12 knots to achieve this kind of range. Wanderlust can cruise economically at 17 knots or reach a top speed of over 20 knots, to beat incoming weather or get to a desired anchorage more quickly.
The most striking exterior aspect of Wanderlust and the Silver World Explorer series is the resemblance to the profile of a classic navy destroyer, courtesy of superyacht superstar designer Espen Øino. What gets less notice is the huge loft and wintergarden on the owner’s deck aft. This area has been built wider than the beam of the hull, to create a much roomier space. Designed with floor-to-ceiling windows that wrap around the entire aft area of the deck, the aft Wintergarden offers superb views of the sea.
The main deck loft looking aft to the winter garden
The loft and wintergarden also change the tone of the yacht, from a rugged navy vessel to Starship Enterprise.
The loft features floor-to-ceiling windows, generous space for lounges or sit-down dining and a media wall. The adjoining wintergarden features sliding glass walls that allow conversion to an outdoor space with panoramic views.
The aft-facing winter garden on the main deck
The wintergarden also serves as the main indoor dining area, though it can be turned into an indoor-outdoor space at the push of a button. The galley and associated storage space have been moved to the lower deck, which is entirely given over to crew quarters and service areas.
The owner’s cabin
Owner’s bathroom
The owner gets spectacular treatment on Wanderlust . The upper deck forward is reserved entirely for the owner, with a forward-facing cabin with sea views facing starboard and port. Forward of the cabin are his and hers bathrooms.
On the main deck, there are no social areas, save for the aft deck which houses tenders and the helipad. All guest space is for the cabins: four guest cabins and three VIP cabins, all of which are ensuite and tastefully appointed.
Wanderlust can accommodate up to 21 crew and accommodate 12 guests. The lower deck has been completely set aside for crew, engineering and service areas, apart from the captain’s cabin on the bridge deck.
Exterior Spaces
Wanderlust, and the Silver Yachts Explorer series, were designed for outside experiences. To that end, the exterior decks are huge and a key feature of the yacht.
The sun deck and upper aft deck area
There is the giant aft deck area. At anchor with the sides down, a floating tender bay can be deployed, creating a giant water sports centre.
Up top on the bridge deck, the roof of the wintergarden has been turned into a huge aft deck dining and socialising space. It can be protected with awnings and fitted with loungers. Forward, there is a dining area and an aft-facing bar/service station. This could easily be a place to spend an entire day.
The bridge and helm station
Finally, at the very top is the sun deck, where more informal dining and lounging spaces are located. There is also a jacuzzi protected by a forward windscreen. Here, owners and guests can relax after a great day on the water, or explore some remote island by helicopter.
Wanderlust is available for charter with Burgess. During the summer season, she charters out of the Mediterranean and in winter, she charters in the Indian Ocean region.

Inside SilverYachts' 85m Superyacht 'Wanderlust'
By Heather Collier
Following her delivery in October 2022, the Silverloft vessel was renamed from 'GlobalFast' to 'Wanderlust' and has now joined the charter fleet with Burgess.
Following in the footsteps of her sistership Bold, Wanderlust is the second iteration of the series; featuring naval architecture and striking exterior design penned by Espen Øino , as well as an opulent interior designed by Vain Interiors.
It is clear that discretion was a huge priority during her construction, with privacy glazing implemented throughout; encircling the main deck and loft on the upper deck with an interactive ceiling. The winter garden also includes floor-to-ceiling glass that when opened reveals a large shaded terrace.
In terms of interior, her high-ceiling sky lounge forward includes a large screen where guests can watch and enjoy a spot of wildlife by taking in the mesmerising dolphin cam in the bow. With an 11-metre beam, Wanderlust also boasts a vast amount of space, perfect for plenty of sumptuous seating for entertainment and relaxation.
Built to create the vacation of a lifetime, she can host up to 12 overnight guests across eight contemporary staterooms. Her owner’s suite is located forward of the winter garden and includes an inviting double bed, as well as an ensuite bathroom and a private office.
Wanderlust has a 400 square-metre aft deck, with plenty of room for tenders up to 15-metres. Her sides also fold down to open up the views completely and create even more versatile space for entertainment, games or relaxation.
Guests can also indulge in a beautiful glass-fronted Jacuzzi and alfresco dining on her sundeck, combined with more open-air dining experiences with a bar and barbeque, and a huge sun lounge aft.
The main deck of the Wanderlust yacht includes an outdoor cinema, all fitted with sound, media and light systems for disco nights; the total entertainment package.
Zero speed stabilisers provide maximum comfort for those on board, while her efficient propulsion system allows for an impressive performance. She is equipped with twin MTU engines that provide her with a top speed of 23 knots, and her nautical range of 5,800 miles allows her to cruise for longer before refuelling.
Wanderlust is currently available for charter in 2023 with Burgess and will be cruising the West Mediterranean in the summer and Indian Ocean in the winter.

First look inside 85m SilverYachts explorer Wanderlust
Following her delivery in October, the 85.3 metre SilverYachts explorer yacht Wanderlust has joined the charter fleet and her interiors have been revealed for the first time. The styling follows a clean and modern theme while capitalising on natural light, particularly in her social areas.
Wanderlust is the sistership to Bold and the second hull in the yard's all-aluminium SilverLoft series, which has been conceived as a 'Sports Activity Vessel' (SAV). Espen Øino designed the exteriors of the series, giving them a military look with an open aft deck and distinctive triangular glazing on the lower deck. Interior styling has been completed in-house.
A focal point of the yacht's design is a 400-square-metre aft deck which allows storage for tenders of up to 15 metres and functions as a helipad. When used as a living area, unfolding bulwarks can create even more usable space. Alongside tenders, the yacht can store eFoils, water skis, kayaks, Seabobs and inflatables.
Wanderlust features a "highly efficient" hull form that aims to deliver top speeds of 23 knots powered by twin MTU 16V 400 IMO Tier II compliant engines, although Silver Yachts stated the vessel exceeded original specifications during sea trials.
True to her name, Wanderlust has a range of 5,800 nautical miles - more than her sistership - allowing her to spend long periods of time at sea without needing to refuel.
Another key element of the yacht's design is a winter garden loft area which sits on the upper deck. Privacy glass can be closed off or left open to create a multi-seasonal area that can be adapted to suit different weather conditions. Guests can enjoy meals at the formal dining area or a more casual arrangement at a low-slung seating area.
Forward of the winter garden is the main saloon, which benefits from a cinema-style screen that can be connected to a camera that lies in the bow of the yacht. The space makes full use of the yacht's 11-metre beam and offers a variety of different seating areas as well as a bar and games table.
The owner's suite is located even further forward and features an island bed, a small office space and an en suite. In total, the yacht can accommodate eight guests in 12 cabins and carries a complement of 21 crew.
In terms of al fresco living, the yacht has a bridge deck with a dining area, barbecue grill and sun lounge, while the sundeck is home to a glass-fronted Jacuzzi and open-air dining. When not being used for tender storage, the main deck can be arranged with an outdoor cinema fitted with sound, media and light systems.
The yacht is currently offered for charter with Burgess from €896,000 per week plus expenses.
Also under construction at SilverYachts is the 79.5 metre Project Silver Edge , another Espen Øino design, which was started on speculation earlier this year.

Silver Yachts' explorer Project Globalfast renamed WANDERLUST on delivery

By Nina Done 31 October 2022
Following the completion of successful sea trials last week, the newly-named 85m (280ft) explorer yacht WANDERLUST departed Silver Yachts' facilities in Western Australia and has now been handed over to her new owners.
Previously known as Project Globalfast, the striking explorer yacht was unveiled at the yard’s state-of-the-art AMC hub in Freemantle last month. Featuring an all-aluminum hull and superstructure, the 1,561GT yacht's exterior design has been helmed by industry powerhouse Espen Øino International and represents the second hull in the yard's Silver World Explorer series.
Key features include the same iconic utilitarian profile as her sistership BOLD , with tinted bespoke glazing above a series of geometric panels. She also comes equipped with magnetic electric motors for her bow and stern thrusters, a top speed of 23 knots and impressive autonomous range – at an equally impressive cruising speed of 17 knots – of 4,500 nautical miles.
Although little is known about the yacht’s interiors, we do know there are some key differences to her predecessor. These include a 490m² owner’s deck, home to an expansive luxurious loft area, winter garden and full-beam stateroom featuring a private study and lounge. Meanwhile, her main deck houses the remaining cabins for up to 16 guests, with direct access to the vast fully-certified helideck on her stern.
This area can be converted into a dance floor or alfresco cinema, as well as playing host to a hangar and abundant toy storage, with an 8-tonne crane and folding bulwarks making launching of the tenders and toys infinitely easier.
Upon delivery, it is not expected that motor yacht WANDERLUST will be available to charter.
