I have to say the worst experience in my life was with these guys so do yourself a favor stay away their phony false and fake I have been boating for over 50 years I've owned about 10 boats my experience with Vercoe yacht sales is very much negative stay away from this company . I bought a boat and put $5k into it to make it sea worthy. Then decided it was not the right boat for me. The broker sold that boat back to the original owner for $15k less than I paid for it. I feel I was set up and scammed. The broker made his commission on two sales the original owner got his boat repaired and made money. Was this legal? Maybe. Was it ethical? NO WAY. Stay away from this brokerage. They are bad actors. 0 Stars!!!
This review wayyyy overdue . Looked at pictures of a Toll Craft Bob Krause had listed. Looked super clean so after speaking with him several times over a couple weeks I decided to fly up to Portland from San Francisco. Bob took me down to the boat just prior to my surveyor showing up. Boat did not look close to the listing pictures. He admitted later the pics were taken before the current owner purchased it! Ok....time to haul out pressure wash,survey etc right? Back in the water for sea trial and port engine backfired so bad we had to limp back home. Survey did not go well either with item after item piling up. Called off engine survey. Paid for standard hull survey,haul out, pressure wash,2 nts hotel and round trip fare San Francisco and I'm out over $2,000. Sorry to say that many brokers misrepresent their listings and are not ethical in doing business.... Stay away from these guys.....
Went out to look at a large boat they have advertised ($20k+). The sales person was so eager for the sale that he said something to the effect of No reason we both need to get wet, go ahead and go look. Come back if you have any questions. The boat was in horrible shape and filthy. Pieces that were advertised to come with the boat were not there His answer was, if it shows up later you'll get a bonus! Ummm no, it was advertised with these (and other missing) items, and the price includes this stuff in the first place. Horrible salesmanship, bad PR and no sale. Absolute waste of my time.
I made an appointment to look at a boat the day before. I showed up the next day after a 4 hour+ drive. The boat was not ready. Batteries were dead. Tires on the trailer were lacking enough air, bilge had not been pumped of water {dead Batt.} They had an excuse of {{ "its winter and the boat has been winterized,"}} I have Experience and it does not take long to get a boat ready to go after winterizing. I know it's a boat, it should float, but they couldn't prove it. Motor should run, they couldn't prove it, but yet they wanted me to give them an offer. Of course any offer would be contingent on a sea trial and survey etc. But how am I supposed to make an offer on a boat without the most basic of information.? The owner of the boat was not being well represented by the broker attending the sale. But I make note that one lazy Broker does not make the whole experience as there are other brokers there that may do a better job and are knowledgable.
