Motor yacht Horizons III (formerly MARTHA ANN) is a 70m/230ft luxury motor yacht built by Lürssen and designed by Espen Oeino, with Francois Zuretti interiors. She is one of the finest Lurssen yachts built at the time of her launch. Luxury accommodation on board is offered for up to 12 guests in 7 staterooms.

This massive luxury yacht features modern lines, and while her interior design is classically inspired, she has a contemporary feel. With just about every yacht feature you can imagine, her dark blue hull and size mean she is one of the world’s most impressive yachts.

Developed under the project name 'Shark,' superyacht Horizons III is the Lurssen built sister-ship of motor yachts Apoise (2006) and Saint Nicolas (2007). Lurssen, the German Superyacht builder, is also famous for building Larry Ellison and Paul Allen’s boats.

With a massive beam of 12.8m, she boasts extraordinary volumes, even for a yacht of this considerable length. She is the ideal entertainer’s superyacht with her six impressive decks and numerous spacious separate areas for guests, both inside and out.

Horizons III’s main saloon and dining areas are situated on the luxury yacht’s main deck, along with an impressive glass circular stairway. This deck also hosts the yacht’s main lobby. The bridge deck hosts a VIP stateroom and further aft there is a full-beam saloon and a cleverly designed inside-outside dining area. She boasts a huge sports bar and gym along with a very large Spa Pool which adorns the upper deck. Here, as with the aft deck, there are vast areas for outdoor relaxing and sunning and seating. There is also a large pool with integrated bar.

Horizons III’s main aft deck has two wonderful U-shaped seating areas seating 12 to 14 guests. The bridge deck can be opened for entertaining from the sky lounge to the aft deck. Her dining room is centered by a 12 person dining table and an aft circular salon as well as full-length window walls which can be opened up to outside. The luxury yacht’s sundeck reveals a spacious wet bar, with room for up to 12 stools, seven chaise lounges, and features a well sized Spa Pool Swimming Spa lap pool

Motor yacht Horizons III’s sumptuous accommodation features a full beam master suite with a private entrance, a study as well as a split-level master suite lounge area with sofa seating, an occasional table, electrical entertainment and access to yacht’s exterior deck. On the lower deck for accommodation guests have four very spacious staterooms all with King sized beds. On her main deck in the owner’s enormous suite of around 130m2.

Horizons III Specifications

Twin 1,500kW Caterpillar diesel engines produce a speed of 15.5 knots and a range of 4,000 nm Lurssen superyacht a top.

Motor yacht Horizons III provides a full range of water toys and amenities as to be expected of a superyacht this size. The water toys and tender equipment is tidily stored away in the aft lazarette garage.

Lürssen motor yacht Martha Ann now for sale with Burgess and IYC

The 70.2 metre superyacht Martha Ann has had a central agency change and is now jointly listed for sale with Burgess and IYC.

Built in steel and aluminium by German yard Lürssen  to a design by Espen Øino , Martha Ann was delivered in 2008 and refitted in 2014. Lloyds classed and MCA compliant, she has a spectacular interior by Francois Zuretti accommodating 12 guests in six cabins consisting of a full beam master suite on the main deck with a private lounge including a wet bar, a VIP suite on the upper deck and four doubles below, all with king sized beds, entertainment systems including flat screen televisions and full en suite facilities.

The main saloon has a wet bar with three bar stools forward and is divided into two conversation areas including an L-shaped settee to port plus an armchair and occasional table while there is a baby grand player piano aft. To starboard are two sofas arranged in a U-shape and two arm chairs. Entertainment comes from a 110 inch home theatre projection screen drawing on the yacht’s Kaleidescape on demand visual and audio server. Forward is a dining area seating up to 14 guests that can be fully enclosed for privacy.

The main aft deck of this yacht for sale is ideal for al fresco dining with two U-shaped seating areas facing each other across four occasional tables, allowing space for up to 14 guests. Meanwhile, the bridge aft deck has full width built in seating and a dining table for 14 guests, a wet bar with five stools and a large flat screen television.

Other features include a sports deck with a gym and a glass elevator connecting all decks. Twin 2,010hp Caterpillar engines give Martha Ann a range of 6,000 nautical miles and she is fitted with zero speed stabilisers.

On display at the forthcoming Monaco Yacht Show, Martha Ann is asking $79,000,000.

She is in the same family as Apoise built in 2006 and Saint Nicholas, 2007 which were also built by Lurssen. Martha Ann was launched under the name of Shark with the initial launch date in 2008. We’re here to take a closer look at Martha Ann to explore why she is considered to be such a special member of this elite family of motor yachts.

Design and build

Martha Ann is a seventy meter yacht that is designed for luxury yachting. She was built by the Lurssen shipbuilders. The exterior design was completed by Espen Oeino with interior design by Francois Zuretti. From a glance, the spacious yacht is sleek in appearance. Each of the staterooms were planned to allow for elegance and roominess. You’ll find several areas which are the perfect size for accommodating seating so guests will always have an open set for relaxing or enjoying the sights and sounds of the destinations that the Martha Ann cruises. The deep blue hull and modern lines make her an attractive craft to behold.

Accommodations

The yacht is fully equipped with four large staterooms which are located on the lower deck. Guests will enjoy the full king sized beds. On the main deck is where you’ll find the ample sized master suite measuring just over one hundred and thirty meters. The Martha Ann can accommodate up to twelve guests and eighteen crew members. Here is a more detailed rendering of the accommodation specs.

• On the aft port ensuite with a king plus pullman and double vanity sinks, dressing room, closet, shower, arm chair, desk, flat screen TV and breakfast table.
• On the Aft starboard a king plus pullman ensuite with the same accommodations as the aft port.
• On the forward port, a king bed and ensuite with double vanity and sinks and shower, desk, dressing room and closet, sofa that is an L shaped corner type and flat screen TV.
• Forward starboard room features a king, ensuite with a dual vanity and sinks and shower, desk, sofa and flat screen TV.
• VIP Statemroom on the Bridge Deck features a queen ensuite with shower and double vanity sinks, occasional table, vanity, sofa, arm chair, mirrored closet and dressing room.
• The staff cabin is available with three singles, ensuite with a shower, closet, desk and flat screen TV which is ideal for housing nannies, children and other staff.
• The lower deck features a service corridor from the lobby to the crew’s quarters to keep them separate from guest accommodations. The lower deck is where you find the central lobby that provides access to a circular glass elevator and it also houses a mini refrigerator and a service bar.

The Martha Ann measures seventy meters in length with a 12.8 meter beam. It has been designed with six decks which are connected by the circular glass stairway with elevator. On the bridge deck there is a full beam saloon. On this deck you’ll find the enormous sports bar that is complete with a wet bar and a flat screen TV. The upper deck features a gym that is equipped with treadmill machines that are positioned to face the full length window for a magnificent view while working out. You’ll also enjoy the large Jacuzzi on the upper deck for relaxation after an intense workout or a hard day of play at sea.

The ship was built with multiple areas for outdoor relaxation and some highlights include an integrated bar and large pool as well as an ultra stylish dining area that has the capacity for seating between twelve and fourteen guests. It may be enclosed or fully opened to allow guests to enjoy the fresh air.

The interiors are done in a classical style with state of the art systems for the most current and useful technology available. Additional luxury amenities include customized deck lighting, WiFi and iPod connectivity throughout the vessel and anchor stabilization for the smoothest experience possible.

Specifications

Martha Ann is powered with two diesel engines manufactured by Caterpillar. She has plenty of power on board with a total of eight thousand and forty horse power and just 5 kilowatts under six thousand with twin screw propulsion. She has a cruising speed of thirteen knots and her top speed is fifteen and a half knots with a generous range of six thousand nautical miles at twelve knots. Her fuel capacity is over thirty five thousand US gallons with a potable water capacity of just under eight thousand eight hundred US gallons. She sails under the Cayman Islands flag.

Her overall length is two hundred and thirty feet and three inches with two hundred and eight feet and 2 inches at waterline. The beam is forty one feet and eleven inches with a max draft of twelve feet one inch. She can accommodate up to twelve guests and eighteen crew members with a total of seven cabins consisting of one master and six double for guest accommodation.

Final thoughts

The Martha Ann is one of Lurssen’s finest superyachts and she offers an attractive exterior with extreme luxury on the interior. Her design has made provisions for extreme roominess for the comfort of owners and guests. She is a lovely sight to behold as her sleek and graceful lines glide gracefully across the seas. The addition of stabilizers make her a dream for cruising in smooth seas or at anchor in more turbulent conditions. She comes fully equipped with all of the amenities that make an excursion fun, relaxing and entertaining. She has recently become available for sale and promises to deliver high on luxury and performance to the fortunate new owner.

Motor Yacht

Superyacht Martha Ann is a 70 metre luxury motor yacht built in 2008 by German powerhouse Lürssen as the sister ship to Apoise and Saint Nicolas. Her iconic deep blue hull and sleek, elegant lines make Martha Ann an eye-catching charter vessel while her six decks and numerous areas, both inside and out, make her the ideal entertainment yacht. With a top speed of 15.5 knots and a range of 4,000 nautical miles, Martha Ann is also an incredible cruising vessel as well.

Code named Shark, Martha Ann is a massive yacht that features modern lines and exudes a charismatic and contemporary feel. She can accommodate up to 12 lucky guests in her master suite, VIP suite and four king-size staterooms with an additional staff cabin suitable for children and nannies. The full width, 1400 square foot master suite has a private entrance and starboard study, dressing room, main area with flat screen TV, desk, sofa, cabinets and vanity, as well as a split level master lounge which provides access to the exterior deck. The VIP suite lies amidships, forward of the Skylounge, and holds a sofa, vanity, arm chair, table, dressing room and an en-suite bathroom. The four king-sized staterooms lay aft port and starboard as well as forward port and starboard and hold a dressing room, sofa, vanity, flat screen TV and an en-suite bathroom.

All of Martha Ann’s tenders and toys lie within the main aft deck lazarette which leaves all the decks clear for guest space. Featuring a five deck glass elevator as well as an incredible circular glass stairway and impressive main deck lobby, Martha Ann is sure to win the heart of everyone who comes aboard. The main Dining Salon seats twelve to fourteen and can be fully enclosed while the aft circular Dining Salon boasts full length window walls can be fully opened to the fresh air and seats twelve. The Bridge Deck can be opened for entertaining from the Skylounge to the aft deck, offering approximately 100 feet in length. A large Jacuzzi sits on the upper deck and is surrounded by vast spaces for outdoor relaxation, sunbathing and entertainment. A large pool rests nearby with an integrated wet bar, of which there are a total of six. There are powder rooms on every deck and Martha Ann is WiFi and iPod capable throughout. The gymnasium located on the upper deck holds four elliptical treadmill machines, each with a TV monitor as well as a powder room, locker room and shower. For sports enthusiasts there is an immense sports bar with a large flat screen TV and a wet bar. The Upper Aft Deck, where the Jacuzzi and pool are located, also holds a gas barbecue, large flat-screen TV, alfresco dining area for twelve to fourteen and eight chaise lounges perfect for watching the night sky.

Martha Ann’s collection of water toys include two three-man kayaks, two pedal-operated kayak sailboats, towing toys, water skis and wake boards. There is also a 24 foot Nautica custom landing craft for shore transfers and a two ‘limousine’ tenders with air-conditioning.

Motor yacht Martha Ann is available for charter in the Mediterranean for the summer season and the Caribbean and Bahamas during the winter season.

This winter, she will be heading to the Caribbean, where she will be a particularly attractive prospect for those looking to bask in the sun and swim in the crystal-clear ocean. Podolsk - Overview

Podolsk is a city in Russia standing on the banks of the Pakhra River, about 37 km from the center of Moscow, 15 km from the Moscow Ring Road. It is one of the largest satellite cities of Moscow (the second after Balashikha), a large industrial and cultural center of Moskovskaya oblast.

The population of Podolsk is about 309,600 (2022), the area - 40 sq. km.

History of Podolsk

Podol was first mentioned in written sources as a village in 1606. It became a town by the Empress Catherine’s the Great order in 1781. The population of the town was 856 people. In the 18th century, the first stone buildings appeared in the town.

The main occupation of the inhabitants was mining of rubble and white stone, from which, for example, the famous Znamenskaya Church in Dubrovitsy was built. In 1781, Podolsk received a coat of arms with two golden pickaxes symbolizing the main occupation of the local residents.

In September 1812, the town was occupied by the French troops during the French Invasion of Russia. The Trinity Church, located in the center of the present city, was erected in memory of this event.

More Historical Facts…

The development of Podolsk was promoted by construction of the State Warsaw (Brest-Lithuanian) Highway in 1844-1847. In 1866, Moscow-Kursk Railway came to Podolsk, it favored the development of the local industry. In 1875, a cement-producing plant was opened (in 1913, cement made about 95% of all the freight taken from Podolsk).

In 1900, the American company “Zinger” began the construction of their plant in Podolsk, the first in the Russian Empire. Production of sewing machines began in 1902. In November 1918, the plant was nationalized by the Soviet power and production stopped. The first Soviet sewing-machines were produced only in 1924.

During the years of the Civil War, there was a significant reduction in the town’s population. In 1920, the population of Podolsk was about 12,000 people. By 1939, due to intensive industrial development, the city’s population reached 72,000 people. In the 1950s, industrial development continued. In 1979, the population of Podolsk was 201,700 people. It became the first city of the Moscow region (Moscow is not part of it) with a population of more than 200 thousand people.

The climate is temperate continental with relatively cold winter (early November - end of March) and warm humid summer (mid-May - early September). The average temperature in January is minus 9.4 degrees Celsius, in July - plus 18.4 degrees Celsius.

Podolsk is one of the largest industrial centers in the Moscow region. There are over 50 large and medium-sized industrial enterprises on the territory of the city. Besides, Podolsk is an important scientific center. There are several research institutions engaged mainly in nuclear machine-building and nuclear research.

Moscow - Kharkiv - Sevastopol railway passes through Podolsk. The federal highway M2 “Crimea” runs about 1 km east of Podolsk.

Attractions of Podolsk

There are a lot of monuments and memorial boards in Podolsk. The most interesting are the architectural and sculpture ensemble built in memory of World War II (Slavy Square) and the monument-obelisk to Miloradovich grenadiers who died in the Podolsk land in 1812 (Sobornaya Square, in front of the Trinity Cathedral).

The former Ivanovskoye estate and Dubrovitsy manor ensemble are also one of the main attractions of Podolsk.

There are several Orthodox churches in the city. The Trinity (Troitsky) Cathedral (1819-1823) is the most famous. It was built in honor of the victory of the Russian Empire in the Russian-French War of 1812. During the Soviet regime, it was the only cathedral in the Moscow region open for visiting.

The Resurrection Church in Krasnaya Street is one of the oldest churches in Podolsk (first mentioned in 1627-1628).
