View our Caribbean brochure

We take you to the Caribbean that is hidden from you on a normal beach hotel holiday! Explore bays and coves that tourists cannot reach; the forest-clad mountains of Grenada; the exclusive glamour of Mustique; the film location for Pirates of the Caribbean in the Tobago Cays; and the excitement of trade-wind sailing around the idyllic Grenadine islands. Feel the warm wind fill the sails, swim with turtles, snorkel the reefs, watch the sun set from a beach bar – every day! Your dreams become your memories.

Come as a couple, individual or group of friends and family and experience this adventure. Sailing holidays used to be only for big groups: not any more! Meet discerning, like-minded people in the safe, comfortable environment of your luxury yacht on a shared or private charter. Make new friends while discovering wonderful new places together.

yacht charter holidays caribbean

As one of the most popular locations in the world, second only to the Mediterranean in popularity, the types of boats available for rental in the Caribbean include all the main types such as motor, sailing, skippered, crewed yachts, catamarans, power boats, sailboat, luxury yachts as well as the ever growing superyacht and mega yachts. Both beginner and experts alike are drawn to the Caribbean for its warm winds, protected waterways and beautiful anchorages. The Caribbean is a special place that has beautiful tropical islands that lie snug within a tropical island necklace as laid out on a large blue sea.

The Caribbean is also steeped in a fertile history of sailing adventure. Ever since the days of galleons and pirates the Caribbean has been host to some of the most satisfying sailing anywhere in the world. On your Caribbean yachting vacation you can find, an incredible amount of choice and variety and all in a relatively small area - thriving bars and Caribbean nightlife; first rate cuisine; spectacular white powder beaches; lush tropical rain forest; cloud-fringed mountain peaks; exotic bird life; amazing diving and snorkeling and a serene blend of European sophistication and warm Caribbean hospitality. The problem is, with so many superb Caribbean yachting locations and charter boats to choose form, where do you start when planning a holiday? With CharterWorld of course…

The Time of Year to Charter a Yacht in the Caribbean:

The main Caribbean sailing season runs from November through to July. The Caribbean primary high season is from mid-December to March, when the winter escapees from North America and Europe arrive in their greatest numbers. The hurricane season is from late July to early October, although hurricanes are in general rare in the southern Caribbean. Unfortunately, they can be prevalent around Cuba, Bahamas and the east coast of the U.S. every few years. This is the least expensive time for chartering in the Caribbean and there are some really good deals are available. However, as well as running the risk of storms, this time of year also tends to be associated with lighter (or non-existent) winds.

As with many boating locations the Caribbean shoulder season, in this case from April to July, is also a great time to charter a boat as there are less shore based visitors, some lovely settled sunny weather, and warm yet steady breeze. The Caribbean is made up of many different multi-nation (and multi-cultural) volcanic islands. There are amazing sailing grounds stretching from Cuba and Jamaica in the west, through the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, The Virgin Islands, The Leeward Islands and the Windward Islands, finishing with Trinidad and Tobago off the coast of Venezuela.

Caribbean Yachting Hot Spots:

Here is a brief list of some of the Caribbean hot spots to consider experiencing when you rent a luxury crewed charter yacht. This is by no means an extensive list and there is more information on things to see and do in the Caribbean under each Caribbean private yacht location. Also, when you hire a yacht with us we will supply you with a customised hand written itinerary suggestion so that you and your crew have a few ideas to choose from on your charter.

General Places/Events Worthy of Experiencing:

- Gustavia Harbour in St Barts - shopping, nightlife, restaurants and European quintessence - Nelson in Dockyards in Antigua - history and beauty in a harbour - Sunset in St Lucia - St Kitts for the beauty, history and magnificent views from Brimstone Hill Fortress - Anegada for its deserted beaches, fringed reefs and the unique flora and fauna of the salt ponds, home to the pink flamingo - The BVIs for the beautiful beaches and anchorages - Guadeloupe for its diversity - one side offers cosmopolitan flair, bordered by beaches and coral reefs and the other has open lands with the fertile, volcanic peaks , rain forest and waterfalls.

How to get to the Caribbean

There are direct flights from the UK and the US to Barbados, Jamaica, St Lucia and Antigua. Some Caribbean islands require a connecting flight as they have small airports which cannot handle large aeroplanes. Across the Caribbean, many islands have private jet facilities with fantastic runways.

What is the currency in the Caribbean?

Various currencies are used in the Caribbean. For instance, in Anguilla, Dominica, Grenada, St Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia, St Vincent, the Grenadines and Antigua, the East Caribbean dollar is the currency. Jamaica, Barbados, the Cayman Islands and the Bahamas have their very own currency. US dollars are accepted on most of the islands however the ATMs tend to have only the local currency.

Language spoken

There are four main languages spoken in the Caribbean, French, Spanish, Dutch and English. English is the first or second language and is mostly used when tourists visit. The official language of Haiti is Haitian Creole while Papiamento is used in Curacao, Bonaire and Aruba. Different creoles and local patois are also spoken on the various islands.

Time Zone in the Caribbean

Two time zones are used in the Caribbean. GMT -5 and GMT -4. Daylight saving time is implemented in many countries including Bermuda, Cuba, Haiti, the Bahamas including the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Visas and customs immigration

British and American tourists do not need visas if they are staying in the Caribbean for less than 90 days. It’s advisable to check the exact requirements for the countries you intend visiting. American tourists are still not allowed to visit Cuba although this may change in the future.

What to consider medical/health wise when chartering a superyacht in the Caribbean

There aren’t any extra medical issues for travelers in the Caribbean but check with your travel agent for any current warnings. The most common are complications form insect bites, jelly fish stings, cuts from coral and heart-related illnesses.

Caribbean Sailing Charters

Oyster Yachts on Caribbean Sailing Yacht Charters

This stunning cruising ground is everything you would imagine and so much more. In the British Virgin Islands (BVIs), Caribbean sailing yacht charter guests can spend their days snorkelling vibrant coral reefs before visiting the famous Soggy Dollar Bar - known for its intoxicating Painkiller cocktail - for a night you’ll never forget.

Caribbean sailing charters.

A sailing holiday in the Windward Islands makes for a bounty of wild experiences; allow the scent of exotic spice to enchant you as splash in Grenada’s crystal-clear waters, or discover real island living in Barbados.

In the Leeward Islands, St Kitts promises rugged adventure while  Caribbean sailing holidays  to Antigua offer a chic escape complete with Michelin-Star cuisine. The unspoiled Grenadines are the place to come if you seek undisturbed relaxation, the most untouched of all the Caribbean island groups.

Oyster offers sailing yacht charters exploring every one of these blissful regions. Read on to learn more.

CRUISING GUIDE: CARIBBEAN SAILING YACHT CHARTERS

The best time to visit the Caribbean by sailing yacht charter is between December and April. Although the region is known for having a permanently glorious climate, averaging between 24-29°C/75.2-84.2°F all year round, a visit during these months offers lower humidity and less chance of rainfall. It also falls outside of the June-November hurricane season. You can expect temperatures of around 26°C/78.8°F and blissfully calm waters, perfect for bathing away your troubles or getting your heart racing with some exhilarating watersports.

Some of the most popular times for crewed Caribbean sailing yacht charters include the Christmas and New Year’s period and the Easter weekend when the islands fill up with festivities. You will discover more secluded sailing destinations and deserted beaches outside of these peak holidays, but the festive magic is hard to beat. The choice is yours...

Maximising your island-hopping experience onboard a Carribean sailing yacht charter allows you to explore every little bay that takes your fancy. Drop anchor by tiny secluded coves and discover deserted islands where you really can get away from it all.

For skippered Caribbean sailing holidays, look no further than Oyster. Our beautiful boats are light and spacious with luxurious furnishings that prioritise comfort without compromising on practicality. Large windows below decks mean you’ll be able to spot every single palm tree that dots the horizon, while our highly-professional crew come equipped with a local’s knowledge of every part of the Caribbean.

Explore this stunning region on one of our  luxury sailing yachts , or read on to learn about sailing the beautiful island groups of the Caribbean.

Sailing in the British Virgin Islands

An iconic cruising ground for Carribean sailing holidays, the BVIs are not to be missed. With nightlife that will have you dancing until dawn, seafood restaurants with fresh tuna and gin-clear waters offering perfect conditions for snorkelling and diving, this is the epitome of island living. Sail out to the caves at Norman Island to swim amongst exotic sea life and marvel at the vibrant colours. For charter guests who want nothing more than to lie on the sand and relax, cruise over to Anguilla, where the island’s flat topography makes for some truly phenomenal beaches. As the sun begins to set, head to The Rum Bar at Cooper Island, or for those who want to party all night, why not hop between the many lively bars on Jost Van Dyke.

The BVIs provide a delightful climate throughout the peak charter season: a perfect escape from the colder weather of the Northern Hemisphere.

Sailing in the Windward Islands

The Windward Islands deliver surprise after surprise on any Carribean sailing holiday, with each island full of its own unique character. St Lucia promises a vibrant history and rugged landscape - hike the Pitons for some truly incredible views across the islands and out to sea. Bequia is considered by some as the perfect Caribbean island, its difficult to get to by aeroplane meaning it has been protected from mass tourism, preserving all of its natural beauty. Glamourous Mustique is the favourite holiday spot of A-List celebrities and supermodels. However, despite its famous visitors, this three-mile haven is surprisingly low-key, with only one (extremely elegant) hotel on the island.

Authentic Caribbean living and jaw-dropping natural beauty await in the Grenadines - a 35-island region that lies within the Windwards. Snorkel in the Tobago Cays to meet friendly marine turtles and revel in the untouched landscape. Head to Mayreau for the wild nightlife and swim at best-kept-secret beach Salt Whistle Bay. Try your hand at kiteboarding on Union Island, and hang out with the locals in this laid-back set of villages. Caribbean sailing yacht charterers will love the variety of experiences that await in this cruising ground.

Head to the Windward Islands from December through to April to experience them at their best, with a multitude of fantastic events across all the islands. Look out for the Barbados Film Festival, now in its third edition and normally held in late January, or the lively Carriacou Carnival in mid-February. Also, visit in February to experience the yearly St. Vincent Yacht Club Regatta, or in March for the Saint Vincent’s Blues and Rhythms Festival.

Sailing in the Leeward islands

The Leeward Islands are famous for their good sailing winds, making them a must-visit destination for experienced sailors or those on skippered Caribbean sailing holidays, where the crew will guide your vessel while you simply relax. Head to Antigua, one of the most important superyacht hubs in the Caribbean, for unmatched glamour and a rich history. Don’t leave without touring Nelson’s Dockyard, the preserved 18th-century base of the British Fleet in the West Indies.

As the smallest landmass ever to be divided between two nations, St Martin/St Maarten offers a chance to experience both French and Dutch culture while revelling in the island’s majestic green peaks and crystal-clear waters. Heavenly St Barts has not one but fourteen gorgeous beaches at which to stretch out and do nothing or to get your pulse racing with some exhilarating water sports. Meanwhile, on St Kitts and Nevis, lose yourself in sugar plantation history at the UNESCO-protected Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park. This is an island group for those with an adventurous spirit, but it wouldn’t be a Caribbean sailing yacht charter destination without also being packed full of amazing beaches upon which you can soak up the sun.

In peak sailing season, the Leeward Islands offer the lowest humidity of all the Caribbean islands - perfect for keeping cool during those more challenging hikes - and temperatures average between 27°C/81°F and 35°C/95°F, ideal for lazy days on the beach.

Why Charter a Yacht in the Caribbean

A Caribbean yacht charter is the best way to explore this stunning corner of the world.

Whether it’s the wild adventures and rum cocktails in the Leeward Islands and the Windward Islands, the carnival craze, drums, and dancing in Trinidad and Tobago, the tranquil natural beauty of St Vincent and the Grenadines, or the spectacular diving and snorkeling in the world’s second-biggest barrier reef of Belize, the Caribbean is ideal for a luxury yacht charter vacation.

Caribbean Climate and Nature

The Caribbean Sea is one of the warmest seas in the world, famous for its incredible underwater scenery, spectacular white powder beaches, tropical fish, and beautiful islands.

Calm waters and sunny weather from December to May make the Caribbean a perfect winter escape beloved by private yacht owners and charter yacht guests alike.

Countless paradise islands, hidden coves, and secluded bays offer fantastic anchorages, coral reefs provide excellent scuba diving opportunities, and the tropical inland jungles teeming with wildlife offer a touch of adventure once you step ashore.

Cultural Experiences

Finally, the unique Caribbean culture and cuisine from Cuba to Barbados, the high-end resorts, the private islands belonging to the likes of David Copperfield and Richard Branson, and the chic beach bars and fine dining in St Martin offer the quintessential Caribbean yacht charter experience for those seeing adventure, luxurious living, and joie de vivre unparalleled anywhere else in the world.

Caribbean Yacht Charter Destinations

The Caribbean spans a large area dotted with hundreds of large and smaller islands, each unique in its own way.

Although the sailing season in the Caribbean Sea is long, it’s impossible to see the entire region in one sailing trip. Most Caribbean yacht charters are aimed at one or two-week-long vacations. Unless you have more time to explore and relax, it’s best to pick just one or two destinations to truly experience the Caribbean way of life without rushing from one island to another and trying to cram it all into a seven-day itinerary.

Natural Diversity

The choices are as diverse as the Caribbean itself: adventure seekers and history buffs will enjoy the unspoiled sailing grounds of the Grenadines, honeymooning couples will love the romantic atmosphere of Turks and Caicos, and partygoers will find the British Virgin Islands, St Martin, and St Barts irresistible.

Cuba is ideal for rum-fueled nights in Havana following the steps of Hemingway; Antigua and Barbuda is famous for its sublime resorts, the world’s best beaches, and crystal-clear waters, while Belize boasts some of the most beautiful coral reefs on the planet.

Depending on your personal preferences, here are some of the best destinations for Caribbean charter vacations:

The largest island in the Caribbean Sea, Cuba sits at the crossroads of the Atlantic Ocean, the Caribbean, and the Gulf of Mexico.

Famous for its vibrant cultural heritage, the best rum and cigars in the world, and dreamy cays, Cuba is a unique yacht charter destination offering a combination of pristine beaches and sleepy mangrove forests, the old-world glitz and glamor of Old Havana, and the sleepy mangrove forests and coral atolls as well as island-hopping and abundant wildlife.

Experiencing Cuban salsa beats, retro American cars, and Hemingway’s old haunts are a must for those partial to the 1920s nostalgia and cultural experiences, while the island’s rich marine life and warm waters are perfect for swimming and snorkeling.

British Virgin Islands

British Virgin Islands (BVI) is one of the most popular Caribbean yacht charter destinations famous for its vibrant nightlife scene, island hopping, lush greenery, and stunning sandy beaches.

Part of a volcanic island’s archipelago, the BVI boasts sapphire blue waters, verdant tropical greenery, and luxury resorts.

The island of Anegada is famous for its coral reefs, underwater caves, and old shipwrecks, making it ideal diving and snorkeling ground.

Virgin Gorda – named by Christopher Columbus himself because of its curious shape – is considered the most beautiful of the British Virgin Islands, and it’s equally famous for upscale yacht clubs, luxury lodging, boutique shops, and delicious cuisine.

Finally, the island of Tortola offers plenty of great anchorages, stunning views, world-class diving, and a selection of luxury SPAs to unwind and relax.

US Virgin Islands

Part of the Leeward Island chain, the US Virgin Islands boast idyllic cays, powdery white sand beaches, and a laidback atmosphere.

Each island has its own unique charm ranging from vibrant towns to pristine national parks, and the numerous bays and picturesque anchorages offer sheltered spots to drop anchor and enjoy the magic of the Caribbean.

The island of St Thomas is often dubbed the shopping capital of the Caribbean, equally famous for its golf courses and roaring nightlife.

St Croix is favored by history aficionados: the island has experienced Spanish, Dutch, English, French, and Danish rule boasting a vibrant cultural scene with a blend of influences from Africa, Europe, and the Caribbean.

Home to the Captain Morgan Rum Distillery, St Croix is also known for its fine dining, golf courses, casinos, and lively arts and crafts scene.

Finally, St John has some of the best-protected beaches in the world, abundant marine wildlife of turtles and rays, and excellent snorkeling sites.

Antigua and Barbuda

Sometimes called the sailing Mecca of the Caribbean, Antigua and Barbuda is known as the Land of 365 Beaches - one for each calendar day - as it has a wide variety of beautiful white sand strips, secluded coves, and hidden bays, including the famous Pink Sand Beach of Barbuda where tiny coral particles mixed with white sand create a striking rosy tint.

Antigua and Barbuda has a rich sailing heritage and hosts world-class regattas and events such as Antigua Sailing Week, one of the premier international sailing events. The islands boast tranquil harbors and sheltered anchorages, pristine shorelines, coral reefs, and the famous Stingray City, where charter yacht guests can swim and snorkel alongside southern stingrays.

Known for its lush green interior, vibrant local culture, serene beauty, and close proximity to the neighboring islands of Guadeloupe, St Kitts and Nevis, and Montserrat, Antigua and Barbuda is a must-see on a Caribbean yacht charter vacation.

The original Pirates of the Caribbean location – the famous movies were filmed on its Hampstead Beach – and a treasure trove of natural wonders, Dominica is a volcanic island teeming with lush rainforests, tumbling waterfalls, and rich wildlife inland and below the water.

An extraordinary playground for adventure seekers and nature lovers, Dominica is famous for mountain climbing, hiking, diving, and snorkeling opportunities.

The famous Morne Trois Pitons National Park, Champagne Reef, and the striking Boiling Lake are a must-see, while Dominica’s picturesque anchorages and pristine beaches are perfect for a luxury yacht charter vacation on the water.

Eco-tourism, delicious Creole cuisine, and whale watching in Dominica create unique experiences for those looking to immerse themselves in nature and Caribbean culture.

A captivating Caribbean yachting vacation spot, Martinique effortlessly blends French sophistication with Caribbean heritage.

Known as the “Island of Flowers”, Martinique is one of the most popular winter destinations for luxury yachts because of its paradise beaches, turquoise waters, and rainforest-draped inland mountains.

Martinique’s capital Fort-de-France will charm history buffs and culture explorers with its chic boutiques, colorful markets, and fine French cuisine. The island is also famous for its rum production and rich Caribbean heritage.

Water sports enthusiasts will find plenty of snorkeling and diving opportunities as Martinique teems with spectacular marine wildlife and coral reef wonders.

Saint Lucia

Famous for the iconic Pitons – conical mountains towering over azure waters – and breathtaking natural beauty, Saint Lucia is a paradise for Caribbean charters.

Volcanic peaks, awe-inspiring landscapes, and picturesque coastline aside, Saint Lucia offers upscale marinas, excellent anchorages, and luxury concierge services.

The island’s vibrant social scene, dance traditions, and quaint fishing villages provide a rich tapestry of culture, while the crystal-clear waters are ideal for swimming, snorkeling, and fishing.

Whether it's exploring the picturesque Marigot Bay, sailing along the scenic coastline, or indulging in a sunset cruise, there is something for everyone on St Lucia during a Caribbean yacht holiday.

Luxury yacht charters favor Barbados for its stunning coastline, picturesque coves, and beautiful anchorages.

A hub for yacht racing, buzzing social life, and ideal cruising grounds year-round, Barbados is one of the wealthiest islands in the East Caribbean, boasting luxury shopping, dining, and bar scenes, as well as world-class surfing and snorkeling.

The birthplace of rum and Rihanna, Barbados is one of the most attractive Caribbean yacht charter destinations.

St Vincent and the Grenadines

Located in the Windward Islands, St Vincent and the Grenadines boast idyllic white-sand beaches, secluded islands, and lush tropical landscapes. Comprising 32 islands and cays, St Vincent and the Grenadines offer a wealth of experiences for luxury yacht charters.

The iconic Tobago Cays, with its abundant coral wonders and marine life, the stunning anchorages of Mustique and Bequia, and the islands’ Caribbean cuisine, culture, and laidback atmosphere make St Vincent and the Grenadines an unforgettable Caribbean getaway and a must on your yacht charter itinerary.

Nestled in the Southern Caribbean, Grenada is often called the Spice Island thanks to its rich history and traditions of spice plantations, including cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cocoa, and allspice.

Offering a unique blend of stunning landscapes, pristine beaches, vibrant culture, and a robust yachting scene, Grenada is an excellent yacht charter destination for adventure seekers and culture lovers alike.

Grenada's Port Louis marina is famous for its state-of-the-art amenities and services for charter yachts. The marina provides easy access to the beautiful cruising grounds of Grenada and the surrounding islands, including the Grenadines.

Its colorful carnivals, the charming waterfront of the capital St George’s, historic forts, and energetic rhythms of calypso music radiate the Caribbean spirit, while Grenada’s spectacular marine life, rainforests, and the Grenada Underwater Sculpture Park provide ample opportunities to enjoy the outdoors.

Split between France and the Netherlands, St Martin offers a delightful blend of European charm and Caribbean flair.

Luxury yacht charter guests can enjoy the best of both worlds, experiencing different cultures, cuisines, and architectural styles combined with sophisticated dining, high-end shopping, casinos, and legendary beaches.

Marina Fort Louis offers great charter yacht amenities as well as easy access to the vibrant town of Marigot, known for its charming streets lined with boutiques, restaurants, and cafes, offering a taste of French and Caribbean fusion cuisine.

Known for its chic atmosphere and effortless glamor, St Martin is also famous for its unspoiled coral reefs and easy access to the nearby islands of Anguilla and St Barts.

A small country nestled between Mexico and Guatemala, Belize is a hidden gem in the Caribbean, boasting some of the best diving and snorkeling on the planet thanks to its 300-kilometer barrier reef.

Caye Caulker and Ambergris Caye are famous for spectacular sandy beaches, incredible marine life, and the 124-meter deep Blue Hole, while the three main atolls – Glover’s Reef, Lighthouse, and Turneffe – offer a chance to channel your inner Robinson Crusoe on tiny paradise islands.

Inland, Belize is known for its Indiana Jones-style jungle hikes and hidden Mayan ruins, waterfalls, and wildlife.

Mayan, Garifuna, and Spanish cultures in Belize provide an intriguing cultural melting pot, and the local cuisine, along with drumming parties on the beach, offer a glimpse into a laidback Caribbean lifestyle under swaying palm trees.

The Best Time for Caribbean Yacht Charters

The Caribbean enjoys a long sailing season from November to July, with the high season starting in December and ending in March.

The Caribbean shoulder season from April to July sees mild temperatures and warm breezes, May is typically rainy, while the hurricane season (July-October) can be capricious, especially in Cuba.

The Cost of a Yacht Charter in the Caribbean

The cost of Caribbean yacht charters varies depending on the boat size and type. Motor yachts cost $25,000 - $50,000 per week, while sailing yachts cost $15,000 - $40,000 per week.

Crewed luxury yachts can cost from $30,000 up to $1,000,000 per week and more.

On average, however, expect to spend $20,000 - $50,000 per week on most charter yachts.

In addition to the initial charter fee, a boat rental in the Caribbean will also require to cover expenses (fuel, food, and the like) in the form of an advanced provisioning allowance (APA).

It’s best to speak to your charter broker about your options, all-inclusive packages, and the choices of charter boats available.

Yachts for Charter: Motor Yacht vs Sailing Yacht

Arguably, the Caribbean is the quintessential sailing destination: from the pirate stories and the romance of harnessing the sails to the unparalleled experience of wind-powered travel, hiring a sailing yacht will provide an authentic Caribbean vacation.

A sailing yacht is all about tradition and elegance, romantic allure, and an intimate connection with nature. Sailing yachts can also provide access to the shallows and more remote anchorages where larger motor yachts may struggle.

On the other hand, hiring a motor yacht means luxury, convenience, and speed. Crewed luxury yachts offer more space, comfort, and onboard entertainment; in addition, a motor yacht often offers additional amenities like water toys, Jacuzzis, SPA treatment rooms, and personal chef experiences.

Choosing between a motor yacht and a sailing yacht ultimately comes down to personal preferences and the type of adventure you’re looking for.

Charter Yacht Features

Charter yachts include a variety of features and amenities for comfort, convenience, and unique experiences for the guests.

While particular amenities vary based on the size, style, and level of luxury of the boat, the following are some common charter yacht characteristics:

Spacious Cabins

Yachts usually have spacious, well-appointed cabins with en-suite bathrooms and plenty of storage space. Master bedrooms, VIP cabins, and various guest cabins are common features on luxury yachts.

Onboard Entertainment

Entertainment systems such as flat-screen TVs, audio systems, and movie theaters are available on some luxury yachts.

Water Toys and Sports Equipment

Many charter yachts provide a variety of water toys like jet skis, paddleboards, kayaks, snorkeling equipment, wakeboards, and fishing gear. Water toys are essential for charter yacht guests who love active water experiences.

Outdoor Living Spaces

Most motor yachts include large decks with lounge places, sunbeds, and eating facilities. For extra luxury and relaxation, some may feature Jacuzzis or swimming pools.

Gourmet Dining

Professional chefs on crewed luxury yachts create wonderful meals customized to guests' interests. Guests may enjoy superb meals with spectacular views in formal dining spaces and outdoor dining locations.

Wellness Facilities

Luxury boats may have aboard gyms, spa facilities, and massage rooms for fitness and relaxation.

The availability of amenities will vary based on the charter yacht’s size, type, and individual characteristics.

When booking a charter, it's best to discuss your preferences and requirements with your charter broker so that the boat you pick has the features you're looking for.

The Caribbean, on the other hand – also known as Caribbean Islands or the West Indies – is a vast region consisting of various different countries and island groups including the Greater Antilles and the Lesser Antilles.

In other words, although the Bahamas is a part of the broader Caribbean region, it is a specific country within the Caribbean as opposed to other Caribbean islands and nations.

Catamaran Charter in the Caribbean

One of the most popular modes of embarking on a yacht charter in Caribbean Islands is a catamaran. These catamarans, giving a luxurious feel, offer extensive platforms coupled with private en-suite cabins for the guests.

They also possess easy access through sugar scoops to the water and many luxurious indulgences such as shaded cockpits, forward trampolines, and in some cases, bridge decks in the upper fly as well. If you want solo cruising, then bareboat catamarans are the best! Why? Because they allow much more freedom to move around the deck and along the islands! Moreover, they consist of seating aft, thus, providing enough space to relax. With your sailing license, get set for your voyage soon!

We provide a wide range of catamarans of every size and model to fit your requisites. Antigua and Barbuda

Any yacht charter in Caribbean Islands will take you to these places for sure. Sailing Qualifications

To skipper a bareboat charter or flotilla yacht, you need to hold a practical sailing certificate equivalent to RYA Day Skipper Practical qualification or RYA International Certificate of Competence (ICC) . For charters in Greece, you must now have the ICC certificate . You must also be assisted by at least one competent crew member over the age of 18.

The port authorities in Greece are now insisting on one of the following practical certificates: RYA ICC (International Certificate of Competence), RYA Coastal, RYA Yachtmaster, ASA IPC (International Proficiency Certificate) or the IYT (International Yacht Training) Passport. If you hold an RYA Day Skipper or ASA104 it will no longer be accepted and you need to obtain either an ICC or IPC from the corresponding issuing body (RYA or ASA). If your RYA Coastal/Yachtmaster or ASA105/106 certificate is more than 12 years old and does not have a photo ID, then we would also strongly advise applying for an ICC or IPC. If you are a member of the RYA or ASA, you may qualify for a discount or free certificate, otherwise, you will have to pay. The approximate cost is £50. Please use this link - RYA application for the ICC or ASA application for the IPC.

For charters in Croatia, Malta and the Canaries , at least one member of the crew or the skipper will also need a VHF licence .

RYA qualifications can be obtained by RYA sailing schools in the UK or alternatively choose from one of our overseas centres in Gibraltar, Greece or Turkey .

For  Seychelles,  the local authorities require an ICC for the skipper of a bareboat or flotilla yacht charter.

For Caribbean and Tropical charters, formal qualifications are not compulsory, however, you should be Day Skipper standard and be assisted by at least one competent crew . A brief sailing resume should be provided to outline your experience.

For Thailand A Day Skipper qualification is required as a minimum and you must have at least 3 weeks of skippering experience prior to your charter. A VHF qualification is compulsory.

If you don't hold the relevant qualifications then why not add a skipper ?

Sailing Levels

Winds force 2-3 (4-11 Knots)combined with generally shorter distances. Good for beginner or intermediate sailors. Line-of-sight navigation but basic knowledge of charts and ability to plot your position required.

Winds force 3-5 (7-21 Knots) with approximately 15-20nm per day. Intermediate experience required. Predominately line of sight navigation but an understanding of how to sail in open water.

Winds force 4-6 (11-27 Knots) with mileage of approximately 20nm+ per day. Ideal for experienced skippers looking to venture out to new destinations. Day skipper standard but with experienced crew would be recommended.

Bahamas

Cruise the "out islands" of the Abacos, just 1 hour flying time from Miami, an archipelago of pale sandy islands, tranquil bays, sheltered harbours and sleepy historic villages. The beaches are spectacular, mile after mile of white sand and plenty of reefs for fantastic snorkelling and scuba diving.

Belize

Belize is located on the Caribbean coast of Central America, South of Mexico. Home to the second longest barrier reef in the world, Belize offers superb calm water sailing, diving and snorkelling, Mayan ruins and more - truly an unspoilt holiday getaway.

British Virgin Islands

British Virgin Islands

Come and see for yourself why the BVI is the most popular cruising area in the Caribbean. Perfect sailing conditions and sheltered passages round the islands make this area a delight for all levels of sailors wanting to relax in a Caribbean paradise. Great choice for a first Caribbean charter.

Grenadines

Explore these Robinson Crusoe islands with soft white sand, turquoise seas and spectacular coral reefs. The Grenadines are undeveloped and unspoilt. Nightlife is conspicuous by its absence, peace and solitude are unsurpassed, and the dress code - like the lifestyle - ranges from informal to barefoot casual.

Guadeloupe

Cruise around this butterfly-shaped island with a French Creole flavour or sail to neighbouring Antigua. On Guadeloupe the beaches are secluded and the smell of fresh croissants and pastries mixes everywhere with the spicy aromas of West Indian cooking in restaurants and charming bistros.

Martinique

Martinique is more relaxed than the Caribbean islands to the north and more sophisticated than the islands to the south. The French influence ensures excellent restaurants. Spend a whole week exploring Martinique or head north to undiscovered Dominica or south to St Lucia.

St Martin

This surprisingly little island embodies a dual personality - half French, half Dutch. St. Martin/St. Maarten and the surrounding islands of Anguilla and St Barths offer some of the most spectacular sailing in the Caribbean.
