EMOTION² Yacht for Charter

‘Emotion 2’ is a 139.76ft /42.6m CRN 43 motor yacht built in 2007 by CRN. The yacht was last refitted in 2017, and Zuccon is responsible for her truly exquisite exterior and interior design.

This vessel was previously named Emotion, and easily hosts up to 50 guests dockside. It’s not hard to see why Emotion is popular among those looking to entertain, boasting a private side terrace in the master suite, and a large sundeck rarely seen on a yacht her size. In addition, the contemporary Laura Pomponi interior provides a stylish feel, and an upper deck alfresco cinema is sure to be popular with movie buffs.

Emotion 2’s spacious interior layout sleeps up to 10 guests in 5 rooms, including a master suite, 1 VIP stateroom, 2 double cabins, 1 twin cabin and 1 Pullman bed. She is easily capable of carrying up to 9 crew members onboard to ensure each and every guest enjoys a truly decadent experience at sea.

The vessel is built with a GRP hull and GRP superstructure, and has a cruising speed of 12 knots, a maximum speed of 13 knots and a range of 3,000nm from 50,000litre fuel tanks, she is the perfect combination of performance and luxury.

A deck Jacuzzi comes as standard, and you’ll also find a gym fully equipped with the latest exercise equipment.

She also comes complete with a modern stabilization system to reduce roll motion even during rough seas, and the yacht also has ‘at anchor stabilizers’ to keep things smooth even at anchor/zero speed.

While on board you’ll find a great Wi-Fi connection, so you can check emails or update social media. Air conditioning keeps conditions comfortable throughout the cabins, even on the warmest of days.

If you’re wanting to get closer to the water, why not take advantage of toys on board including 2 x Sea Doo GTX Jet-Skis 155hp, 2 x Kayaks, Kneeboard, Water-Skis, Towable Toys, Inflatable trampoline, and Snorkelling Equipment.

Tragic reason divers took so long to find body of Mike Lynch's daughter on sunken Bayesian yacht

The final body of the six missing people from the sunken Bayesian yacht - believed to be Mike Lynch's daughter Hannah - has been found by the Italian coastguard

  • Updated 13:29, 23 Aug 2024

Expert divers have now found the sixth missing body onboard the sunken Bayesian yacht , believed to be British billionaire Mike Lynch's teenage daughter Hannah.

The 56-metre luxury superyacht was carrying 22 people when it sank off the coast of Italy during a violent storm in the early hours of Monday morning. Fifteen people were initially rescued, with chef Recaldo Thomas tragically pronounced dead. Six people remained missing until five bodies were pulled from the water on Wednesday.

Technology tycoon Mr Lynch, who owned the £30million yacht, was confirmed one of them, alongside Jonathan Bloomer, his wife Judith Bloomer, lawyer Christopher Morvillo and his wife Neda Morvillo. On Friday morning, the Italian coastguard retrieved the final body after a "difficult" five days of searching among the debris.

The sunken vessel currently sits fully intact on its starboard side around 165ft underwater on the seabed. Due to its location, experienced divers have only been able to explore the wreckage for around 12 minutes at a time.

The rescue team previously explained that the search had been made especially difficult by the amount of debris blocking accessibility to all areas of the yacht. It is therefore understood that the body believed to be that of Hannah Lynch had been trapped behind objects this whole time.

It is also believed that Mr Lynch's wife Angela survived and the father didn't because he potentially went to look for Hannah, who would have been sleeping away from the master cabin, giving his wife some comfort that he tried to go back to save her, according to reports.

Luca Cari, a spokesman for the fire rescue service, told Sky News: "It's very difficult to move inside the wreckage. Moving just one metre can take up to 24 hours." The national head of the fire brigade, Carlo Dall'Oppio, told the Mirror on Thursday that operations were also taking time because they had to protect the safety of the divers. He explained: "These operations are proceeding slowly because we must first of all preserve the health of our operators," adding: "It is a difficult job - there are about 40 divers used, 28 of whom come from outside Sicily".

Salvo Cocina, the head of the Civil Protection of Sicily previously said earlier this week that entering the yacht was so difficult because the hull is titled at a 90-degree angle. Member of the diving team Marco Tilotta said "there is a world of objects" obstructing the stairs that lead to the cabins, the BBC reports.

Hannah, 18, had this month received her A-level results and had secured a place to study English at the University of Oxford. She had attended the prestigious Latymer Upper School in Hammersmith, west London. Her mother, Angela Bacares, was onboard the yacht and survived.

The trip appeared to be a celebration after Mr Lynch's acquittal of fraud and conspiracy charges in a US federal trial related to Hewlett Packard's $11 billion (£8.4 billion) takeover of his company, Autonomy Corp. Other guests on the yacht included people who had stood by him throughout the ordeal - such as his US lawyer, Christopher Morvillo and his wife.

Mr Lynch, a father of two, spoke to The Times in July of this year about his charges and how he may not have lived to see freedom had he been found guilty. He said: "If this had gone the wrong way, it would have been the end of my life as I have known it in any sense. It's bizarre, but now you have a second life - the question is, what do you want to do with it?"

Mr Lynch candidly shared: "I'd had to say goodbye to everything and everyone, because I didn't know if I'd ever be coming back." If the businessman had been convicted of conspiracy and wire fraud, he would have faced up to 25 years in a US prison - and given his serious lung condition, it is unlikely he would have made it out alive.

He remained confident that he would be acquitted, but it didn't make it any less emotional when he finally heard those words. "When you hear that answer, you jump universes," he recalled to the newspaper. "If this had gone the wrong way, it would have been the end of life as I have known it in any sense."

Mr Lynch was finally reunited with his family - including his other daughter, 21, and his six dogs - after spending 13 months under house arrest in San Francisco while awaiting trial. Of his return to the UK, he said tearfully: "It's a very strange situation to now be in a different mindset where you're back."

Superyacht sinks latest: Investigators reveal where bodies were found as probe looks at 'crew's responsibility'

Italian officials revealed at a news conference there could be "a question of manslaughter" as they opened a shipwreck investigation and said the probe is also looking at the "crew's responsibility".

Italian authorities detailed the challenging and meticulous rescue operation to recover the six missing people from the Bayesian wreck (see 9.18am post).

But why was the five-day search so difficult?

Read more below...

More on this morning's press conference.

One of the main updates from prosecutors was that they have opened manslaughter and shipwreck investigations after the deaths of seven people in the Bayesian sinking.

Watch the announcement below...

Prosecutors have given a lengthy news conference this morning on their investigation into the sinking of the Bayesian.

Read the full report on the prosecutors' probe below...

Marine investigator James Wilkes has been speaking to Sky News after this morning's press conference.

"Naturally, there are more questions than there are substantive answers at the moment - that's the nature of investigative work.

"Something forced that yacht to roll beyond its nominal stability limits, such that it wasn't able to right itself with the ingress of a certain amount of seawater that was coming into the yacht.

"So the investigators are going to ask themselves one initial question - what must the conditions have been for this to happen?

"Then they are going to look at the contributing factors to the yacht, sinking, and, and the unfortunate loss of life."

Prosecutors said this morning that the future of the investigation is reliant on recovering the wreck.

Mr Wilkes said the yacht is a "major piece of physical evidence in and of itself."

"It's lying at 50 metres, which is a recoverable depth.

"If it was significantly deeper, then I'm not sure they'd be considering salvage at this stage or certainly, the salvage question would be a lot more complicated to answer.

"But if there was the ability to raise that yacht in one piece safely, then it gives the investigators physically more to look at."

Mr Wilkes said he was unsure if the yacht would have a "black box" - called a voyage data recorder in shipping.

"It would record things like GPS position, heading speed, engine telemetry, whether the radars were on, what they were recording, alarms, communications from the yacht itself, any audio on the bridge.

"But more often than not, these are on merchant ships. The yacht was a commercial yacht in the sense that it could be chartered out so it's quite possible it has a voyage data recorder on, but I'm not sure that it does. I don't know that as a matter of fact," he said.

For days we have been waiting to hear from those on the frontline of this rescue mission.

And today finally, we did. Speaking for an hour and a half to the surprise of local journalists who couldn't believe what they were hearing alongside the world's press.

First-hand accounts of the gruelling, distressing and meticulous work that led to the discovery of the bodies of those missing on board the Bayesian.

Mr Cartosio said he had felt the need to conduct a press conference given the international interest in the event.

Flanking the head public prosecutor were representatives from the fire and rescue service and the members of the coastguard.

Some 11 highly specialised divers spent a total of 4,470 minutes underwater searching the vessels across five days.

By the end, there was little visibility in the water but they persevered and by lunchtime on Friday they had recovered the final missing person.

The discoveries of the bodies of all those onboard was difficult for divers despite their years of experience.

The foyer of the courthouse in Termini Imerese - a town just outside the Sicilian capital and some 10 miles from the scene of the tragedy - was packed.

Some 100 journalists on white plastic chairs scribbling away as details about the mission and the subsequent investigation were revealed for the first time.

The world's media heard the scope of the investigation was broad and that the aim of it was to find who is responsible.

Charges relating to shipwreck and manslaughter are being considered but nothing is being ruled out.

The six bodies that were recovered in the five-day rescue operation were found in the cabins on the left-hand side of the ship, prosecutors reveal.

They were trying to hide there after the ship sunk and landed on its right-hand side (see 9.24am post).

Watch below...

Prosecutors have confirmed that the captain of the Bayesian will undergo more questioning.

The yacht's captain James Cutfield has already been questioned for more than two hours by Italian prosecutors.

Prosecutors added that Mr Cutfield had been "extremely cooperative".

They also indicated that British and American authorities are involved in the investigation.

"Well the inquiry is Italian... [but] yes, things are underway from the foreign judicial authorities."

The passengers who died were probably asleep, prosecutors said, and this is the reason they failed to escape.

Officials suggested that "they were asleep whereas the others weren't".

We heard earlier that it was "clear people were trying to hide in cabins on the left hand side" as the ship landed on its right-hand side after it sank (see 9.24am post).

The first five bodies were found in the first cabin on left hand side and the final body was found in the third cabin.

The prosecutors' press conference is ongoing.

Maritime director of western Sicily Rear Admiral Raffaele Macauda said that there is "no information so far that the yacht was wrongly placed" when it sank.

There was a "slight deviation of anchorage because of a piece of archaeology nearby", prosecutors added.

Questions on the weather at the time of the sinking have also been raised by journalists in the press conference.

The yacht had been hit by a downburst, according to Raffaele Cammarano, the prosecutor of this specific case.

He told the press conference "from the information we have, it is a downburst we are talking about".

Downbursts are powerful winds that descend from a thunderstorm and spread out quickly once they hit the ground.

He also added more details about the weather at the time of the sinking.

"Apart from extreme events which are being verified by the prosecutor, there was a great deal of visibility," the official said.

"And as you can see from the internet there was forecasts from midnight to 4am, winds of a strength of five from the north-west and the west and a storm alert.

"But there wasn't an alert of a tornado."

He added: "Given that the conditions were such, there wasn't anything to suggest there could be an extreme situation arising.

"There are vessels that can monitor, after all, these events and one would have thought that the captain had taken precautions."

Autopsies on the victims "have not been done yet", prosecutors said.

They also said that they do not know the "specific" timeline of the investigation and said it depends on the owners of the yacht and maritime authorities.

"After all, the wreck is 50 metres down," they said.

"Everything depends on the availability of the owners and the timeframe of the retrieval of the wreck and of course all that has to be submitted to the port authorities and in parallel of course there will be the inquiry results, and it's only really then that we will be able to authorise the operation.

"I can't say, like some experts who have already spoken on the subject [say] that it will be eight weeks.

"But the preliminary phase which we requested was to retrieve the wreck and after that we can proceed with the rest.

"There are specialised companies after all who can proceed with getting up the fuel tanks, for example, first, so that's a priority for us because it has environmental knock-on effects and then we'll work out a proper timeframe - a plan with a timeframe."

Body of Mike Lynch’s daughter Hannah recovered

The body of Mike Lynch’s daughter Hannah has been recovered from the superyacht Bayesian after it sank on Monday.

The Italian coastguard confirmed the sixth and final missing person had been discovered on the vessel today.

At around 1pm local time search and rescue teams then transferred a green body bag from a boat onto land.

Several boats carrying divers had left Porticello an hour earlier to go to the site of the wreckage following the discovery.

Mr Lynch, his daughter Hannah, Morgan Stanley International bank chairman Jonathan Bloomer, his wife Judy Bloomer, Clifford Chance lawyer Chris Morvillo and his wife Neda Morvillo were lost when the yacht sank at around 5am on Monday.

Fifteen of the 22 passengers and crew on board, including Mr Lynch’s wife, Angela Bacares, were rescued by emergency crews after the yacht suffered catastrophic damage owing to the waterspout.

The group had been invited onboard to celebrate Mr Lynch’s court victory, after he was acquitted of fraud in San Francisco.

Friends pay tribute to hannah lynch.

Friends have paid tribute to Hannah Lynch after her body was recovered from the sunken superyacht Bayesian.

Patrick Jacob, a family friend, said:

“Hannah was charming and ferociously intelligent with an insatiable thirst for life and knowledge. She was also warm, loving and deeply considerate; remarkably for her age.  I am 50 years older than her and in my life I have never met anybody like Hannah. We have lost one of our brightest stars whose future held so much promise. Her loss is unbearable.”

Katya Lewis, Hannah’s friend, said:

“The love Hannah had for everything she held dear was passionate and pure. She had a warm and beautiful soul. Being with Hannah made me feel whole and happy. She is the most special friend anyone could ask for and I will always love Hannah.”

“She lit up the classroom with her energy, passion for learning and sheer intelligence (though never with a hint of arrogance).”

He added: “She loved literature, learning and life. She was so excited to start studying English at Oxford, a goal she had worked so hard towards.

“I taught Hannah for four years. I will remember her for what she taught me: kindness, compassion and commitment.”

A manslaughter investigation is being considered by Italian authorities into the sinking of the superyacht Bayesian , according to reports.

The Prosecutor’s Office of Termini Imerese is making inquiries into why the luxury yacht capsized off the coast of Porticello at around 5am on Monday, a source close to the prosecution team said.

The team led by Ambrogio Cartosio, is looking into offences of “shipwreck and multiple counts of culpable homicide against an unknown person”, similar to that of manslaughter charges in the UK, according to Palermo Today.

Maritime trade union hits out at criticism of the bayesian’s crew claiming it ‘undermines due process’.

A maritime trade union has hit out at criticism of the Bayesian’s crew, saying it “undermines due process”.

Nautilus International’s general secretary Mark Dickinson said: “We have no doubt that the crew and master of the Bayesian are experienced maritime professionals. Any attempt to question their conduct without the full facts is not only unfair but also harmful to the process of uncovering the truth and learning any lessons from this tragedy.

“It undermines due process and denies the master and crew their right to fair treatment under the recognised IMO/ILO guidelines.”

Mr Dickinson’s remarks will be interpreted as a snub to Giovanni Costantino, founder and chief executive of the company which built the Bayesian.

On Thursday Mr Costantino claimed the Bayesian was “one of the safest boats in the world” and was virtually “unsinkable”, telling Corriere della Sera: “The passengers reported something absurd, that the storm came unexpectedly, suddenly. That is not true. Everything was predictable.

“Ask yourself – why were none of the Porticello fishermen out that night? A fisherman checks the conditions and a ship doesn’t? The disturbance was completely readable on all the weather maps. It was impossible not to know.”

James Cutfield, captain of the Bayesian, was questioned by the Termini Imerese Public Prosecutor’s Office for two hours earlier this week.

11:47 AM BST

Recovery of hannah lynch’s body ‘in progress’.

Efforts to recover Hannah Lynch’s body are “in progress”, the head of Sicily’s civil protection agency Salvatore Cocina said.

A few boats carrying divers left Porticello shortly after 12pm local time to go to the site of the sinking.

A manslaughter investigation has been launched by Italian authorities into the sinking of the superyacht Bayesian, according to reports.

A press conference has been announced for tomorrow morning by the prosecutors’ office, with more details expected to emerge.

The Prosecutor’s Office would not confirm the investigation to The Telegraph.

Bayesian like ‘an 18-storey building full of water’, says expert.

The sunken Bayesian has been compared to “an 18-storey building full of water” by a marine expert.

A spokesman for the Italian coastguard likened the superyacht to a tower block as he described the difficulties of the underwater search.

Vincenzo Zagarola said: “From the first moment it has not been easy or quick to inspect the boat.

“Think of an 18-storey building full of water.”

10:36 AM BST

Divers require up to 24 hours to search one metre of bayesian.

Specialist divers need up to 24 hours to search just one metre of the sunken superyacht Bayesian, an expert has revealed.

The search of the vessel, which sank on Monday after being hit by a tornado, has entered its fifth day with the Italian fire service saying that moving within the luxury yacht is “very difficult”.

Luca Cari, a spokesman for the fire rescue service, told Sky News: “It’s very difficult to move inside the wreckage.” He added: “Moving just one metre can take up to 24 hours.”

Hannah Lynch, the 18-year-old daughter of the technology tycoon Mike Lynch, is the last remaining person unaccounted for. It has been suggested she may not be inside the yacht.

The Italian coastguard confirmed that the sixth and final person yet to be found is a woman.

Divers have previously spoken about the challenges of dealing with narrow corridors and floating debris obstructing their progress.

Pictured: italian fire service conducts searches by sea and air, 10:26 am bst, search for mike lynch’s teenage daughter on sunken superyacht continues.

Specialist cave divers continue their search for 18-year-old Hannah Lynch, the last person remaining unaccounted for after the superyacht Bayesian sank on Monday.

The body of technology tycoon Mike Lynch was recovered from the vessel on Thursday, but his daughter is yet to be found.

Mr Lynch, his daughter Hannah, Morgan Stanley International bank chairman Jonathan Bloomer, his wife Judy Bloomer, Clifford Chance lawyer Chris Morvillo, and his wife Neda Morvillo went missing when the Bayesian sank at around 5am on Monday after being hit by a tornado.

The search was called off at around 8pm last night with divers expected to resume operations this morning as the search enters its fifth day.

Five bodies have now been brought to shore in the small fishing village of Porticello, around 11 miles from the Sicilian capital of Palermo.

09:55 AM BST

Raising the sunken superyacht bayesian must be done ‘very slowly’, says expert.

Raising the sunken superyacht Bayesian must be done “very slowly”, a leading maritime salvage expert has said.

Nick Sloane, the South African salvage engineer, said the sea must be calm when the yacht reaches the surface.

Mr Sloane, who led the operation to recover the Costa Concordia cruise ship after it capsized off Tuscany in 2012, said: “You need to go very slowly. The important thing is that when the yacht reaches the surface, the sea must be calm.

So they’ll have to carefully check the weather forecasts.”

He said he has been talking to divers involved in the Concordia operation and they have been discussing how the operation could be carried out.

09:27 AM BST

Raising bayesian will cost 15 million euros and take up to eight weeks, says expert.

Raising the Bayesian superyacht from the seabed off Sicily will cost around 15 million euros and take six to eight weeks, a leading maritime salvage expert said.

Nick Sloane, the South African salvage engineer who led the operation to recover the Costa Concordia cruise ship after it capsized off Tuscany in 2012, said around 40 highly trained divers would be required.

A large platform would have to be towed out to sea.

From there, a giant crane would lift the yacht - but very slowly. If the yacht is pulled up too quickly it could buckle and break up under the huge pressure of seawater inside it, Mr Sloane said.

The 75 metre high mast would be cut off and removed prior to the Bayesian being lifted.

“I would say it would cost up to 15 million euros but possibly you could do it for a bit less,” Mr Sloane told La Repubblica newspaper.

“The recovery operation would take six to eight weeks. It could be completed before the second half of October.”

09:13 AM BST

Moving a metre within wreckage can take a day, says fire service.

Moving within the sunken superyacht Bayesian is “very difficult” with specialist teams able to make just one metre progress a day, a spokesman for the fire service said.

Luca Cari, a spokesman for the fire rescue service, told Sky News: “It’s very difficult to move inside the wreckage.”

He added: “Moving just one metre can take up to 24 hours.”

09:05 AM BST

‘long and delicate search continues’, says italian fire service.

Divers from the Italian fire service have resumed the search for Hannah Lynch.

In a post on X, Vigili del Fuoco wrote: “In the early hours of the morning today, the divers of the fire brigade resumed the search.”

Two photos of their team at work were also shared on the social media site.

“The long and delicate search operations for the last missing person continue,” they added.

The sister of Hannah Lynch has paid an emotional tribute to her sibling. Hannah, along with her father Mike Lynch , were among six people who died in a superyacht accident off the coast of Sicily.

The vessel, known as the Bayesian superyacht, sank near Porticello at about 5am local time on Monday morning (August 19). 15 of the 22 passengers and crew on board, including Hannah's mother, Angela Bacares, were rescued after escaping onto a lifeboat.

Rescue operations took place, but the missing passengers were later confirmed to be dead. Hannah was the last person to be recovered by divers in the yacht's wreckage on Friday (August 23) .

In a tribute, Hannah's sister Esme said: "Hannah often burst into my bedroom and lay down with me. Sometimes beaming with a smile, sometimes cheeky, sometimes for advice.

"No matter what, she brought boundless love to me. She was endlessly caring, passionately mad, unintentionally hilarious and the most amazing, supportive and joyful sister and best friend to me.

"And on top of all this, she had even more love to give endlessly to all her friends and passion to give to her incredible studies and goals. She is my little angel, my star."

Mike and Hannah's family had also previously paid tribute to the pair , saying: "The Lynch family is devastated, in shock and is being comforted and supported by family and friends. Their thoughts are with everyone affected by the tragedy.

"They would like to sincerely thank the Italian coastguard, emergency services and all those who helped in the rescue. Their one request now is that their privacy be respected at this time of unspeakable grief."

Ambrogio Cartosio, public prosecutor of nearby town Termini Imerese, said in a press conference at the town’s court on Saturday (August 24) that his office has opened an initial investigation into manslaughter, according to a translation. He added that they are conducting an investigation against unknown persons.

Morgan Stanley International bank chairman Jonathan Bloomer, his wife Judy Bloomer, Clifford Chance lawyer Chris Morvillo and his wife Neda Morvillo were also recovered from the wreckage.

Mike Lynch’s friend mourns ‘unbelievably tragic’ death after fraud trial acquittal

Mike Lynch ’s legacy “should be celebrated” a friend has said, following his death.

The body of the technology tycoon has been recovered after a luxury yacht sank off the coast of Sicily earlier this week.

His 18-year-old daughter reportedly remains missing.

After news of Lynch’s death was confirmed, his friend Brent Hoberman described him as “a titan and a figurehead”.

“We were all hoping for a miracle,” Mr Hoberman told Sky News.

“It is important - now his passing is confirmed - to think about his legacy... It’s important that his legacy is celebrated.”

River Cruise on Luxurious Radisson Boat

Equipped with ice-breaking technology, these huge fancy yachts are the only river cruisers running all year around. The round trip journey takes two and a half hours and floats past all the big sights like the White House, Novodevichy monastery and the Kremlin. There’s a large open air observation deck up top, while the main body of the ship houses a restaurant with a dance floor for a romantic post dinner dance. For a particularly romantic experience take one of the evening boats and admire the bright lights of the city skyline at night.

The most relaxing and picturesque tour that Moscow can offer: a great way to see the city center and its main attractions. This is a perfect alternative to exploring the city by car, if you only have time to do sightseeing during weekday rush hours.

Your English-speaking guide is eager to share every bit of their knowledge about the surrounding landscape, the architecture and historical details.

We conduct Moscow river tour on Radisson Flotilla boats all year around!  It’s warm inside during winter months, while there’s air conditioning during hot summer days. You may also treat yourself to drinks, lunch or dinner on board (drinks and food are not included in tour price).
