In the 1950's learning to sail meant being a waterman on a working boat or a member of a yacht club. KidShip Sailing Camp Courses
There is an instructor on each boat and four sailors per boat, giving everyone plenty of opportunities to learn, socialize, and have fun. Our hardworking instructors are chosen for their love of sailing and their rapport with younger kids - so everyone has a great time! Monday - Friday, 9 am - 12 pm. Ages 5-7. Price: $400.

The Annapolis to Newport Race (Newport to Annapolis back then) started in 1947 and has been run every two years since. A dining room was added to the club in the late 1940s and in 1948, the first Smoking Lamp newsletter appeared as a single page mimeographed sheet. The junior fleet started in 1948, and the first junior trophy was presented in 1953.
